There's some dude (derogatory) on FB who is PISSED people are pricing their farm fresh eggs at $2 and $3 a dozen instead of $4+, saying it's "disrespectful" and "undignified" and "I'm trying to feed my kids" like Sir, you are on a Facebook group page bitching about your neighbors egg prices because your pet chickens aren't earning you a living wage and you think it's your neighbors' fault, you do not have a leg to stand on here wrt dignity.

Also half the answers are like "I give them to friends and family free" or "I donate them to food banks" or "I'm making them affordable to folks who might not otherwise be able to get them now that they're so expensive in the store" and "if you think you're going to turn a profit keeping backyard chickens you have been wildly misled" and so on, and so forth, and I'm so living for it.

Half questioning my memory of the post s4 era, half side eying a certain character, so correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think there was ever a time when the Buddie fandom fully took the single “Evan” from the season 4 finale as Eddie receiving “Evan” privileges from then on. From my recollection, fics stayed mostly consistent with their uses of “Evan” by Eddie, perhaps just with an emphasis on important moments (love confessions, Christopher’s adoption papers, wedding vows, NDEs, etc.) after the finale. And I had to stop myself from wondering why that is because I know why. We all know. Because nobody wanted to use “Evan” in fics when Buck had just told his parents that people who know him call him Buck. So Buddie fandom heard that, accepted it, and uses it only sparingly. In canon and fanon, even Maddie only rarely uses “Evan” anymore, and it feels even less common for her to use post-Buck Begins (if at all, actually). So the fact that Tommy and BT fans tend to use “Evan” (at least, this has been my experience) is so utterly jarring. Buck told everyone his preference, and I believe LFJ has spoken about being told to use only “Evan” when referring to Buck, so I simply do not understand anyone who believes that BT is in love already or endgame. Yes, it could go the “Buck gave Tommy ‘Evan’ privileges off-screen” route, but then why push it off-screen? It would be a major allowance made for a new love interest, and a significant step in Buck’s character arc. Yet we see nothing of the sort. So why would anyone believe that’s what happened? The last we heard, Buck had told his parents and everyone else to call him Buck exclusively, with the minimal exception of Maddie (who was, for most of his childhood, his one and only lifeline and confidant). That sort of history and characterization is not ignored if there is not something very wrong with the writers’ room. It was not even ignored by a significant portion of the fandom post-season 4, although Eddie gaining permanent “Evan” privileges would’ve been a strong indicator of a Buddie endgame (had an on-screen explanation of Eddie gaining this privilege been released). It was not ignored, and it did not change the nature of Buck in fic nor fanon. So why in hell is the same not holding true for a brand new relationship like BT?

Alright, so I've been a fan of Shane, Ryan and even Steven since their buzzfeed days and I've been watching this whole thing with Watcher moving their content over to their own streaming service debacle.

Like most ppl, I think it's a poor business move to alienate your fans like this, but I've been thinking on it more from maybe a financial perspective. I'm wondering how many people actually signed up for it. I saw a tiktok advertising expert say that the conversion rate for ads--meaning the number of ppl to actually buy something when they see an ad is about 1-5%. Like, right now they have about 2.8 million subscribers. And even though they've lost about 50K since and counting, they probably anticipated some loss. I'm sure they've mathed that if they just get at least like 100K conservatively out of their nearly 3 million fanbase to sign up, they'd be able to make $600K a month from their streaming service at six bucks a pop each month.

Maybe that's worth it? I'm not exactly sure how much they were making before. Ppl say they had 11K subscribers on patreon before but that's just their member total. Actual paid members was about 5K. But despite the controversy, their patreon member count has actually gone up. Today it sits at 12K members total with nearly 6K members paying. So they're making at least $30K-70K+ a month currently on patreon based on their offered tiers. not sure how much they were making on ad revenue alone or sponsors cuz I'm not sure how that stuff works on youtube. But maybe by their own accounting they think the loss of followers was worth it if they can hang on to that small, loyal but paying minority.

Another youtuber has pointed out that if you have a sponsor for a video and it's a one off, it can pay more. Up to $35K. So if that is the peak and they release 1 video a week, so 4 a month would be like 140K a month on sponsor money. And youtube pays about $10 per 1000 views a video, and they average 1 mil each video. So about $40K a month on views. So we can guess that they made about $180K a month currently on youtube (patreon and merch sales not included).

Honestly, if they can reach the goal of 1-5% of their subscribers converting to their streaming platform, yeah they probably would make more money in the long run. IF they can somehow manage to retain as well as grow those number of subscribers on their new platform. And don't forget, they don't plan to delete their current videos on their youtube channel so they'll still be earning revenue from those videos. We'll have to see I guess given how much goodwill they've lost with their audience.

Tbh, I am all for them trying to get paid more for their work but I also think they could have transitioned much differently, like only putting some exclusive content on their own platform while also posting free shows to youtube. Or maybe delaying releases for a week or a month for youtubers. or cutting back your production costs if it's really killing you cuz everyone has pointed out they liked the ghoul boys when it was just a black screen with text scrolling by saying "wheeze." Only time will tell if this move paid off for them.

But I'm not super knowledgeable on how the entire youtube thing works so if someone has some insight, feel free to weigh in.

I just had a thought… Eddie doesn’t know that Buck was clawing his way through wet mud to get to him right??? So what if that’s one of the confessions learned while on the call like how they told Eddie he couldn’t get down the well this time around in the preview for episode 6 we saw at the end of the episode like again the show itself is drawing the parallel between this well call and the well call from the “Eddie Begins” episode like when he did last time go down a well to rescue a kid that was trapped and what if someone mentions that Buck was clawing his way through wet mud trying to get to Eddie once he was trapped underneath in the well and Eddie learns again just how insane Buck reacts whenever he gets injured on calls

"There’s no rush.” Tommy smiles, as he dives in for a kiss, grinding his hips against Buck’s, and oh, at this angle it feels even better. “Let me make you feel good first.” Tommy whispers with another roll of his hips. 

“As long as you do it naked.” Buck responds, and Tommy laughs again, warm and affectionate, if a little breathless. Then, he sits up and slides his shirt off, throwing it somewhere on the floor. Buck’s hands immediately land on his skin.

“Better?” Tommy asks, quirking an eyebrow. 

“Uh-huh, so much better.” Buck nods, eyes scanning the expanse of Tommy’s naked chest, as his hands slowly move all over the skin, caressing the sides, gently running his fingers over the burn scar on his ribs, Tommy’s breath hitching in surprise, but when Buck looks into his eyes, he only sees affection and desire. He has his fair share of scars, too, and he knows how vulnerable showing them might be – because yeah, some people might think the scars are cool or hot or whatever, but no one wants to think about how they got there, or wants to be there to witness it, because it freaks them out. But they both get it, get the dangers of the job, and maybe one day they can share stories about their scars, both mental and physical – Buck would love to hear all about everything that made Tommy who he is now. With time, at some point, it is their second date, after all. So now he just smiles, reassuring, and moves up to press his lips against the scar gently. Tommy’s face melts into something soft. But then Buck’s leaning back again, hands back to traveling over the expanse of Tommy’s chest, going up to his pecs, shoulders, down his arms, and up his back. God, there’s just so much of him.

i know the joke back in march/april was that tommy was buck's sam and eddie was his nick but actually it would be So much more compelling if tommy was buck's richard and eddie was his chandler because the idea of having children and being a father has always existed on the periphery of buck's identity so if he had to reckon with a partner that didn't want kids it would actually be an interesting conflict that would be in line with buck's characterisation while also allowing the show to tie up all the loose ends about buck and fatherhood from s6 as well as the will and the chris of it all
