you are not a failure for not being able to handle everything on your own. you’re not having a hard time because you’re weaker than other people, things truly have been really difficult lately and other people would probably have a hard time too, and those who are overly critical of you don’t go through the same things you do, and they would probably struggle if they did. please have a little compassion for yourself. things have been really hard and you are not exaggerating. asking for help doesn’t make you a needless burden. you don’t have to carry all that alone.

i love it when characters are codependent. i love it when losing someone feels like losing a limb. i love it when two people "complete" each other so wholly and terribly that one can barely function without the other. i love it when the fear of losing the only person who understands them is so all-consuming they'll destroy anything to stay together, including themselves.

Nothing will dispell the "the curtains were just blue" myth faster than writing something yourself, because the amount of pretentious symbolism i am putting in my silly little fanfics is ridiculous. I mean SO much with these words, literally every single one of them. This fic has twenty five typos and zero correct uses of punctuation but if there's curtains you bet your ass I put thought into what colour they were.

We should all be less embarrassed to be caught trying tbh. Wanting to be something is only ever bad if you’re trying to imitate others without ever forming your own thoughts opinions or taste. But I have never looked down on people who’re trying to get somewhere or called them wannabes or mocked them for it. Like that’s admirable actually. There is nothing wrong w having goals and trying at something until you’re good at it. And there’s nothing wrong w the initial phase where you’re struggling. That’s the most natural thing in the world

Rewatching Star Trek TOS after 20 years and I'm once again in my Spirk brainrot era. So good to be back, I missed these silly space guys.

sometimes you just have to try to believe you did the best you could within your circumstances, and to slowly start forgiving yourself for beating yourself up for not being able to be a perfect person to please everyone you know all the time.

all you need is to show up. to be your true self. you have to aim at being respectful, of course, but you don’t need to aim at pleasing everyone all the time. i promise, most people will like you for who you are. and those who don’t are just different than you. don’t fall into the trap of believing that if you act perfectly no one will ever dislike you, because it hurts even more when someone does. people often dislike others based on themselves, their perception, their experiences. it doesn’t mean you’re an awful person.

take it easier. you’re doing the best you can, you just think you’re not doing enough because you put too much pressure on yourself to be perfect and you end up disappointed on yourself. try to set lower goals, realistic ones, and try to accept who you are and what circumstances you have to deal with before being so harsh on yourself. you’re trying, and that’s enough. remember to rest. be gentle. and try to forgive yourself for not being perfect.
