#new#my art#I planned a lot of things#but now I am kinda numb emotionally#cause sister's nearly divorce crises and her husband being my best coworker#and me not managing my talks in my head lol#soooo I don't think I will draw anything for a long time#rip plans but life always happens#and maybe it a good thing#anyways#oh how I enjoyed drawing this one!#I've never drew anything bigger than like 2k pixels#and this one was meant to be printed on A3+#and the first time I did the right size for it I was like WHAT? DO? YOU? MEAN?#when I am at 100% it's only one rock at my whole screen#but then I figured out that like... I can draw details ten times moooooore#spending 8hours on one roooock!!!#MORE SPACE#and I dont know shit about proffesional stuff with exposition and placement and shadows and colours#so details everywhere as I go#and I love to think that the portal to the lake with antlers bars is portal to Augus' lake#and I wanted water snails and knitted jelly fish and kinda blanket but water themed so it's a big algue piece#and it just piled up#and the colours feel was the most relaxing thing to look at all the time#yeah#really proud of this one

i finally finished my sketch-over of Gelato from the other day, and i'm happy with how it turned out :)
#Gelato#my characters#my art#i wasn't sure how far i'd get with this initially honestly...#but im really happy with how he ended up :)#i feel that i could've probably adjusted some things like the thickness of his legs. or how many fingers he had.#since i was mostly worried about going off-model from his original sketch....#but regardless i think he turned out swell#the sketchovers aren't as indepth as i probably would've wanted in the beginning. but i enjoy how it looks#i was also kinda worried his clothes would mess up his existing colour pallette. but i think i happened upon some fitting colours for him#his boards design is just one of the goopy patterns i do in paintdotnet. ive made a few of them and picked one at random#i probably should've picked a different one though because the colours distract from his swimtrunks#but oh well#his shirts design is somewhat based off the mario sunshine shinesprite shirt. i was initially going to draw the shine sprites but#when i started placing splotches on his shirt. they turned out like pawprints. and so i just pivoted to using those instead#the design on his trunks i kinda had a vague idea of like. palm trees and stuff. but ended up drawing spirals and liking that more#his hair is also a mix between what i had in SFM and how his hair actually looks in Helpers sketch

AND IM ALSO HAPPY BC I FOUND A BRUSH THAT LOOKS LIKE A COMBINATION#OF ALL OF MY OTHER FAVORITE BRUSHES AND I FEEL LIKE I CAN DRAW WITH IT THE WAY I WOULD A REAL LIFE PENCIL AUUGHHHHH IM WINNING#oh yeah halfway into figuring out how everything was gonna look the basement started flooding. for context i have a desk in the basement#where i draw . bc it's quiet . and it started flooding .
