Hello! It's Morghy! Sorry for popping out of the blue in your ask box, i just read your tags under my Drawing of Toya and Shoto and I just wanted to thank you! That's exactly the same thoughts i have. Many times i felt like i was feeling Toya's character as 'too dark' or 'too personal' since the majority of the fans do view him in a different way. So i just wanted to thank you for sharing the same view as mine, since it is pretty rare haha. Since we probably experienced similar experiences I'm sending a big hug, hoping you're doing fine! And yeah i just wanted to let you know that! Have a great day!!

Thank you so much!! I was actually afraid I was trauma dumping a bit too much on your post so I almost didn’t go through with posting those tags but now I’m really glad I did :’) I totally agree this view of Touya is rare in the fandom and it can feel, I guess alienating? To be the minority view of him. Especially because he’s such a controversial fave in some corners of the fandom. I do think he’s a dark character! And very personal to me as well. Sometimes I worry I project too much onto him (or the rest of the Todorokis), but he’s written so distinctly that it’s more like recognizing traits and tendencies within him that abused kids can understand on a deep level, even if it’s not pretty. And honestly, abuse is never pretty… so I think it makes sense to view Touya this way!
