Hind Rajab was a 5 year old girl in Gaza who was killed while she hid alone in a car, along with the paramedics who tried to rescue her. Yesterday students at Columbia seized the administration building and renamed it in her honor.

Hundreds of Jewish anti-war demonstrators have been arrested during a Passover seder that doubled as a protest in New York, as they shut down a major thoroughfare to pray for a ceasefire and urge the Senate majority leader, Chuck Schumer, to end US military aid to Israel.

The 300 or so arrests took place on Tuesday night at Grand Army Plaza, on the doorstep of Schumer’s Brooklyn residence, where thousands of mostly Jewish New Yorkers gathered for the seder, a ritual that marked the second night of the holiday celebrated as a festival of freedom by Jews worldwide.

The seder came just before the US Senate resoundingly passed a military package that includes $26bn for Israel.

So today is the data strike, and im participating but I just wanted to say one thing before while it’s fresh. People are trying to make Luigi Mangione as a psycho because he kept grinning at his arraignment.

But to me it seemed like someone who was watching something so ridiculous he couldn’t help but laugh.

Because that’s what it is. This trial is a farce. The NYPD and Adams are a bunch of clowns and this is their circus.

I also think that he was smiling to show that they couldn’t break him. They aren’t gonna take his smile away no matter how much they intimidate him because he knows that if they touch him people on the inside and outside of prison will give them hell.

They’re scared as hell. Let’s all remember to keep them that way

This is class warfare. The ruling class is really freaking out that someone will come for them next, as they should in the natural order of things. You can see this on the cable news channels. So much “manhunt” style coverage and very little time spent asking the bigger questions. Why do insurance companies get to play god for a profit? Why don’t we have Medicare for all? Why are they covering the gallows humor of the reaction the way they are? NYPD and cable news pundits taking full advantage of the copiganda opportunity to find and catch the “bad guy”. We all know this was a righteous act. The media elites are trying hard to make us think otherwise but take a look at social media and you can see the public sentiment.

COLOMBIA UNIVERSITY VIOLENTLY STORMED AND SHUT DOWN BY NYPD

📹 Scenes from the violent dispersal of Colombia University protests after police stormed "Hind Hall", named by students in memory of 6-year-old Hind Rajab who was killed by the Israeli occupation forces along with two paramedics in the Gaza Strip.

Protesters are violently assaulted and arrested by NYPD, among the most notoriously violent police in the country.

News reports meanwhile claim no tear gas was used in the raid, and say no one was injured in the assaults, video evidence to the contrary.

Here I am again complaining about people who view ethnic, religious, and other minorities joining the police force as a betrayal and single them out for harassment.

We can clearly see that female officers, black officers, Latino officers, and Asian officers in the NYPD have significantly fewer complaints filed against them then their white male counterparts.

The NYPD is a flawed institution, but we have clear evidence that increasing diversity helps helps fix those flaws!

Even if your long term goal is to not have a police force at all, you should be able to prioritize immediate actual improvement in the system over theoretical revolutionary change.

I was laying down and I did that thing where you fall asleep but just for a split second. I saw my best friend staring intensely in my eyes, she said “[name]. The NYPD.” And I woke up immediately.

For reference, I live nowhere near New York and am afraid.
