Current Elias looks sinewy and dehydrated, much like that of a competing body builder. The type of muscle that twitches with strength and power, but is limited by how much he can eat. Anyone who has ever had to go on a weight cut for sports / lifting / etc knows that you feel like shit in the middle of it. That is Elias's 24/7.
I'm just saying it is definitely possible that he could get even stronger with enough love, care, and calorie.

every time there's a (chain) restaurant that stops using finnish meat i die inside a bit. like. first of all your image will suffer. it's more ecological to get things made near you. you should realize that even if you don't care about anything. and yeah i barely eat meat but i do care about animal wellbeing so i'm capable of understanding that since people at large will keep eating meat, it's good to support the industry in a country where it's actually mandatory to treat your animals somewhat well and raise them in clean environments and where antibiotics are only used if an animal is sick. and not as a preventive measure so you can raise them in dirty environments. does antimicrobial resistance say nothing to you. also this is exactly why, if i had a pet, i'd be unwilling to buy them food that has meat from a country where i don't know about how the butchery works. bc it supports everyone from the animals to the consumers and their pets and whatever to have meat that's raised with prevention of diseases with the help of systematic health care work and hygiene and literally just not dumping antibiotics into poor animals in poor conditions. thats how you get e coli. my god. all that so you can get slightly cheaper ingredients. insane.

i’m over it. i’m over calorie deficits. i’m over counting calories at all. i’m over “guilt free snacks” and “clean desserts”. i’m over numbers and stats. i’m over restriction. i’m over the fear mongering around food. i’m over it. i will eat protein and carbs and sugar, i will give myself calories. i will eat salads and pasta and brownies and everything in between, not as a punishment and not as a reward but because i genuinely enjoy them, and i will acknowledge the goodness in all of them. i’m not listening to diet culture anymore. i’m over it.

i guess my thing about adhd is that the point of school* is to put kids through a lot of misery and force them to do a lot of purposeless tasks and the ones who succeed in this context by following orders to the letter without question and completing meaningless tasks without complaint get rewarded, and the ones who don't succeed at it get labeled "bad at school" and sent to a hell dimension forever. and the argument of adhd is "this specific subgroup of the people who are bad at school actually don't deserve to be sent to the hell dimension forever, because their parents can afford psychiatrists. obviously people who are bad at school need to go to the hell dimension but these specific children are actually SECRETLY not bad at school, they just have something with their brains that makes them appear bad (which is so different from all the other children who are bad at school due to their poor moral character or low intelligence, traits which famously have nothing to do with the brain and how it works)." and you can say "oh maybe specific subgroups of those children also don't deserve to be sent to the hell dimension because they also have something wrong with their brains" but in the end it's like. all you are doing is arguing that certain people should be lifted out of the hell dimension through grace, you're not actually arguing that no one should be sent to the hell dimension. you're just arguing that a different sent of people should be sent there, because the point of school is to separate the winners from the losers, and you can't actually increase the number of winners or decrease the number of losers, you can only change who they are.

Mulling over something right now.
My journey into understanding neurodivergence and my own AuDHD-ness has changed how I doctor, and sometimes I can see this when looking at things like auto text scripts I set up previously.
For example, when it comes to picky eaters, I used to do a lot of education about how to get kids to eat, discussing strategies like gamifying intake of fruits and vegetables, enforcing #-bite rules, and having cutoff times for meals. I also put a lot more weight on having a balanced, whole-food meal. The only thing I discussed that was focused on any underlying reason was involving kids in meal prep, though I didn't necessarily have a reason as to why. And, to be fair, these strategies work for picky, NT toddlers.
Contrast that to today, where I'm asking questions about texture sensitivities and taste preferences. I'm acknowledging that processed foods are more predictable than fresh. I'm discussing meal prep involvement as a means of sensory food play. I'm discussing about how stressful #-bite requirements can be and I'm encouraging having safe foods available and permissable - not as a means of giving in, but to make trying a new food less stressful. I'm also acknowledging that some food is better than no food, as long as we get the basics/macros in as we can always supplement micros with multivitamins.
These are things that weren't taught when I was in medical school or residency. I attended in 2015, just after the DSM changes and the focus then was, and largely still is, eating a "well-rounded", normativized, white, upper-middle class diet. Anything other than that was treated as subpar and is bad medicine, let alone parenting.
You know the other thing? When I started asking, do you know how many of my picky eaters DIDN'T have some kind of sensory basis to their eating patterns? Do you know just how many undiagnosed, unseen neurodivergent kids are out there, masking along, not making waves, with equally ND parents who don't know otherwise?
The number of times I see at least one parent squirm when I start asking the kids, especially older kids, autism symptom questions and autism distinct anxiety questions... Why, if I had a nickel for every time, I would definitely have more than two. It's not a coincidence.

anyone else not believe in a "normal childhood". like so many people's experiences are so far from a "normal childhood" that i think normal childhoods are more myth than reality. and even when they do exist, children still are treated more like chattel than actual people. by this point, i think the concept of a "normal childhood" is a kind of propaganda pushed in movies and other media to obfuscate how pervasive childhood abuse and neglect is all over the world, ESPECIALLY of young girls.
#ok xavery#i mean something that just made me think of this is like. someone talking about youtubers making their own versions of lunchables#and it's just like. so few parents actually care about their children or even have the resources to actually provide proper nutrition for#(cont) their children. and if you can't even have a healthy diet. is your childhood even ''normal''?#this isn't even getting into the other physical/sexual/emotional abuse children regularly receive#and i'm like. 99% healed from my trauma but like. every time i saw people talking about ''i never got to have a normal childhood'' and then#(cont) contrasted it with what we're fed in media. i think it's a deliberately manufactured lie#to instill complacency towards the mistreatment of children in people of all ages#like i think there are good parents out there but they certainly don't seem to be the majority. and good parents may not always overcome#(cont) the circumstances keeping them from providing children with the healthcare housing and education they need.
