So I've just discovered that the BBC iPlayer has higher-quality versions of Nowhere Boys than it did before (it probably still has the same things censored which I know some people object to, but that's the version I've got access to and obviously I wouldn't be opposed to somebody else making the original versions available too if they wanted, that just can't be me), so I'm going to replace the ones on the drive with the new, better ones, starting with season 4 because most of that was only available in standard definition the first time around, not the full HD (iplayer full HD, so idk how it compares to objective full hd, but it's definitely better even than the previous hd that seasons 1-3 were in)!

Just wanted to let people know what's going on, because the replacement will take time and it might be confusing if anybody goes on there and finds that there are multiple copies of certain episodes because I've uploaded the new ones and not deleted the old ones yet, or whatever.

Unreasonably excited to discover that all of an Australian kids show (I call it that but it's honestly more like whatever the tv equivalent to YA is) that is probably still one of my faves (and a comfort show despite, or maybe because of, the fact that I haven't seen series 4 yet and I know probably my favourite character returns but not in a good way) is on BBC iPlayer now so I can finally watch it all even though I'm very much an adult. But that doesn't matter because I have to see it how it ends and I'm really glad that it's all there because I want to rewatch it anyhow (plus I was already around 15 when it started so I've been invested since it was age-appropriate and I don't see why I should deprive myself of the ending. (Although I'm surprised it's taken so long for the BBC to show it unless they already have and I missed it, the earlier series were shown here only a year or so later, as far as I know and if I'm remembering right, and series 4 aired in Australia in 2018)

I'm rewatching Nowhere Boys for the first time since I was a kid and I can't get over how not a single adult has concerns over the boys walking around in the same dirty clothes all the time.

I know Jake had CPS called on him when he was arrested but other than that, nothing, they are a massive CPS case.

From an outsider's perspective, Phoebe is technically their legal guardian and isn't clothing them?

Thinking about how Persona does translating Japanese honorifics so casually that even in the dubs it’s not at all awkward and it’s cool to see actual acknowledgement these characters are Japanese and would talk like this-that canonically it’s a indicator they ARE speaking Japanese but for us as the viewer it got translated to english-but anytime I think to do this for getter fics I feel as though it be deemed cringy 💀

I just read all your fanfic on ao3 and I just wanted you to know ily. I've never been one to really get oc x canon, but Lucien is just so well written. I fear that, when season 3 comes out, I will be waiting for Lucien to show up b4 remembering he is an oc lol. What made you decide to create an oc? And did you base Lucien on anyone? This is just so interesting to me. Please keep feeding us with this ship. I especially loved when you wrote Lucien, Kenji and Ben (my fav was the ghost story). The dynamic between the 3 of them is just so fun and I need more.

Honestly, Lucien is not my first rodeo when it comes to oc x canon, I've been in this game for like a decade, so honestly it kinda just came naturally to me when I watched CT and went "You. I wan you." At Ben (Hes always been my favourite, but for obvious reasons the primal need to kiss him did not come until CT came out.) And then the shipping with the other boys kinda just also came naturally the more I watched CT and started thinking of possible dynamics. Lu was actually already an oc before CT (fun fact, he was originally a one piece oc) but he was very different from his current self, both design wise and personality/character wise.

Lucien is kinda based off a lot of different things/people, I honestly take a lot of traits from myself and my life and write them into his character, whether it be for comfort reasons, or simply traits that I like on him. Otherwise, I'll kinda take inspiration from media around me in general, movies, tv, random videos I see on tiktok, etc. These can be little things or things that leave a lasting impact on his lore (eg. One pretty big core memory of his was literally inspired by an asmr I watched LMFAO) Honestly the longer I have him as a character the more that gets added to him, like he is so much more fleshed out now compared to the first fics I wrote of him. He used to be quite cold/emo, like standard dark and mysterious dude that's been beaten down by the world around him, now theres so much more to him, yes he's still had that rough life/past, but he's so much more than just emotionless, he very much has those emotions, this dude is still a HUGE crybaby even into adulthood, yeah he can hide them to try and seem "better" than he actually is, but he is a very emotional person overall. On top of that he's so much kinder now, and I've found ways to write him as a happy, bubbly person, who simply has traumas that kept that person inside until he found people that brought those things out.

Lucien is definitely one of my favourite characters I've ever written, and not to toot my own horn but I do genuinely think he is a very well written character, so I am so glad that other people agree and love him so much. Its really awesome to see that my writing can manage to get the love of people that may not have paid too much attention to other peoples' ocs before.

PS. I do need to write more Polycult (Lu+Ben+Kenji) as I adore their dynamic, but I gotta say the Ghost Story note gave me slight whiplash after getting emotional over this ask LMFAO /pos

But lately his master doesn't treat him as such. And it actually makes him feel more valued, not less. Which he wasn't expecting.

See?, now he is even referring to himself as a "he" in his own head.

Will he now start craving food for the pleasure, not the energy?

Will he desire affection and physical contact?

Will he crave sleep and rest, outside of recovery, just as part of a routine?

Maybe he already does, and that's why soft surfaces feel so good againt his skin after a long day following orders left and right. Why the water running down towards the drain, or down his throat, is so refreshing. Why a full stomach makes him feel full of energy and content even when it hasn't been digested yet.

Why his master's praises leave him feeling like dying is worth it.
