I just watched nowhere boys season 4 for the first time ever (BECAUSE NO ONE TOLD ME THERE WAS A FORTH) what the fuck was that ending? They can’t all just stay in the fcking multiverse forever, what about their families? Like- are they able to go back whenever they want?? What the fuck 😭😭😭
Edit: somehow just realised it’s called nowhere boys while in the 3rd and 4th season there’s Nicco in the group—

So I've just discovered that the BBC iPlayer has higher-quality versions of Nowhere Boys than it did before (it probably still has the same things censored which I know some people object to, but that's the version I've got access to and obviously I wouldn't be opposed to somebody else making the original versions available too if they wanted, that just can't be me), so I'm going to replace the ones on the drive with the new, better ones, starting with season 4 because most of that was only available in standard definition the first time around, not the full HD (iplayer full HD, so idk how it compares to objective full hd, but it's definitely better even than the previous hd that seasons 1-3 were in)!
Just wanted to let people know what's going on, because the replacement will take time and it might be confusing if anybody goes on there and finds that there are multiple copies of certain episodes because I've uploaded the new ones and not deleted the old ones yet, or whatever.
Update: I’ve been able to upload Nowhere Boys: the Book of Shadows at last! The link below still works, so now you’ll find all 4 series/seasons plus the movie there. There still aren’t unfortunately highest quality versions of S4, but as I said that’s alright, the versions available are good. And it’s still okay to share these posts and the link.
I had to get the movie from a different source than the episodes, and although it’s still high-quality and mostly HD, there are a couple of places where the quality drops a little or it behaves slightly strangely (fewer since I edited it!). The subtitles for book of shadows are heavily edited by me, colour coded by speaker (or the main/more important characters anyway) and I used non-standard colours to do a colour per speaker, and it might be that this makes them less useful so if this is the case, please let me know and I’ll make a version without colours, or at least with only standard colours. I also don’t know if the colours will even show up, depending on what player you’re using (they only worked for me in vlc player and the embedded player in the subtitle editing programme I used).
(Redo 1 of the Nowhere Boys drive link addition to my last Nowhere Boys post as a separate post in hopes at least one version will find people because the reblog doesn't show up, this one with the link)
If anybody in the Nowhere Boys fandom (or otherwise, it's a good show) hasn't seen some or all of Nowhere Boys and would like to, or has seen it but wants to have the episodes to keep, I now have Series(seasons) 1-4 uploaded to a Google Drive (and I'm working on Book of Shadows/the movie, there's a folder for it but it's not in it yet, it will be when I can get everything sorted with it). Here's the link (hopefully Tumblr won't eat this post):
Nowhere Boys
If this post does get eaten, there will be another post without the link and people will have to message me for it, I guess. Or if there's enough demand I could post it in my bio or something?
Also, if the post doesn't get eaten and people actually see it:
it's okay to reblog this post (and the other versions) if you want/think it will find other fans (or I guess share the link without my post, I'd appreciate if you'd please let me know if you're doing that but obviously I can't make you).
for reasons unknown to me, the video quality of series 4 (apart from episode 1, weirdly, which is as high-quality as series 1-3) is a bit worse than the previous series even at maximum, although still very watchable. If they (by which I mean the BBC because I've got the main series from the iPlayer) do ever post better versions, I'll get them and replace the current ones, but as it is, those are okay and certainly better than nothing/some other sources.
I've included the (English) subtitles with everything, in case anybody else wants them (just .srt files at the moment, although I think I could maybe also get different file versions, like .ttml, if that's wanted/needed for translation/whatever other reason).
I did this for a Twitter groupchat of fans (not very active anymore but if anybody wants to join we'd be happy to welcome you), but I thought it might get to a slightly wider audience here and it wouldn't hurt me to offer it to more people.

Creepy Dartmoor Folklore
Made for @arcenciel-par-une-larme and @merthwyn, who are both interested in creepy Devon folklore. So:
In the 16th century, Sir John Fitz was travelling to Tavistock when he became lost in the mist due to pixie-leading. He drank from a holy well, dissipating their tricks, and set up a granite cross next to it that still stands so that travellers would know what to do if they were pixie-lead. Pixies are pretty common on the moor, and favourite haunts of theirs are Gidleigh Common, Sheepstor, Huccaby Mor and Huccaby Cleave, and their mischief also includes replacing children with changelings. Even their good deeds are dangerous to accept; a maid from Tavistock who left out water for the pixies got seven years of lameness in one of her legs as a result of refusing to get up to give them water one morning.
Sir John Fitz's, Lady Mary Howard, is said to have murdered her four husbands (in reality, she was just exceptionally unlucky), and hence haunts the moor, riding in a black coach with the skulls of her husbands on its corners and a one-eyed black greyhound running ahead of it. She will be free of her torment when a certain hill on Okehampton is bare of grass, but since she's currently plucking one blade a night, that won't be any time soon. Her now-demolished home, Fitzford House, was haunted by spectral lights and two huge black dogs with tongues of fire who appeared at night.
The River Dart itself, and the River Tavy, are both evil spirits that demand human sacrifice; for the former, it's stated in the rhyme "River Dart, River Dart, every year thou claimest a heart".
Wistman's Wood is an oak forest home to the Yeth Hounds ("yeth" is dialect for "heath"), also known as the Wish Hounds (from "ill-wisht", which is dialect for "cursed). They are a pack of fire-breathing black dogs who hunt the souls of the unbaptised (in some versions, they are the souls of unbaptised children), accompanied by sounds of horn-blowing, whip-cracking, howling and baying, who vanish into the earth at the sound of the horn blown by their leader, a dark giant carrying a vaulting pole and the horn. The only way to escape from them is to recite the Lord's Prayer.
The Lych Way is a path which mourners used to take the dead to the parish church at Lydford; due to the length of the journey, there was a stop in the form of a granite slab called the Coffin Stone. The story behind it is that an unpleasant man was being taken to be buried, when just over the stone a lightning bolt from God (to prevent the man resting in consecrated ground) struck the coffin, burning it up with the body inside.
The ghost of Sir Francis Drake rides over the moors in a black hearse pulled by four headless horses and accompanied by demons and headless hounds (these are the Yeth Hounds in some telling), as punishment for making a deal with the Devil (to build Buckland Abbey in three days or to defend England, depending on who you ask).
In 1879, a farmer with sick cows responded by taking a sheep up a hill and burning it as a sacrifice to the pixies - the cows were healed. Don't think the clergy were any more orthodox; the West Country was infamous for sorcerer-clergy, and well into the 19th century it was common for parsons to cast horoscopes for their flocks.
The moor has its own version of the Beast of Bodmin Moor - unsurprisingly, it's called the Beast of Dartmoor.
Cranmere Pool, which is now drained, was used as a prison for evil spirits; a notable inmate was Bengie Geare, a wicked Okehampton mayor who returned as a black pony that took twenty-three parsons to exorcise.
In 1682, the ghost of a man and his wife appeared to their son's servant in the form of a black dog; the apparition is known as the Demon of Spreyton.

‘Hey.’
‘Go away, Heath,’ Mal said, forcing herself not to look up at him, not to properly acknowledge the shadow he cast across her.
‘You know that’s not happening, Mallory.’ There was a gentle teasing note to his voice as he settled on the sand beside her.
Despite everything, a small part of her was grateful he hadn’t simply taken her dismissal. She craved solitude, for once, but deep down she knew it wasn’t what she needed.
‘What if we’re stuck here?’ she asked in little more than a whisper. ‘Emie came home twice, but what if that was all the universe gives us?’
‘We’re not stuck,’ Heath said, though she couldn’t fully buy his words. His own wobble about everything was far too fresh in her mind. ‘We’ll get home.’
‘What if people don’t want to?’ It was one of those fears that she tried to keep bottled up, to suppress it as if that might suddenly make it not real. And yet everyone had seen someone. Not necessarily with good changes, but familiar faces.
Except for her.
‘We’ll get home, Mal,’ Heath vowed, earning her curious gaze.
She could see the conflict in his eyes, and yet there was a determination beneath it too.
‘You’ll be complaining about Emie and wedding stuff before you know it.’
Mal scoffed, absently rested her head against his shoulder. ‘I hope you’re right this once, Buckland.’
He gently tickled her side as he wrapped an arm around her waist. ‘It’s been known to happen sometimes, Thompson.’
She merely nestled into the comfort of him a little more, wishing she could buy his words, even if only for a few minutes before something else shattered the calm.

nowhere boys s4
 1. ok so my faves are heath and jesse
    - both of my ships involve heath; i kinda ship him with both nicco and jesse.
    - ahhhhh heath and nicco kissed they’re sooo cute!!
    - jesse’s style is perfect this season and i’m so glad he’s accepting himself a little more (and making jokes about it too).
 2. mr. bates was really annoying for most of the season but once he was able to know about the whole ordeal i started to like him. detective murphy again???? where’s sam for another body swap????
 3. that alternate universe was pretty cool. seeing other versions of the mains as well as the minors was amazing. jake, check! (love my og baby)
 4. ellen is such a badass and i’ve always loved her for her. it’s just weird to see her without all the eyeliner tho.
 5.  i’ve just finished watching ep12 and i’m so proud of my babies for all they’ve done. i can’t believe this journey is almost over for all of us, and it’ll be interesting to see how it will end.

No link on this version, so hopefully Tumblr won’t eat this post, but you can message me for it, or search 'nowhere boys' (or tag variants '#nowhere boys' & '#nowhereboys' or even, if none of that works, the names of most of the main characters and actors) on my blog (or click/press on those tags from this post maybe?) and hopefully one of the two versions with the link, either the reblog to my original happy vaguepost or the very similar counterpart to this one but with the link instead of this paragraph, will show up for you! Or if there’s enough demand/it would be easier to find, I could pin the post with the link, or post the link in my bio or something?

‘Wait, wait, let me get this straight,’ you said, pacing the end of the table. You’d seen the scorch marks on the table, seen that they looked like hand prints. You knew that Bremin was weird, knew that better than most given that you had been in the same year as Ellen and the Bremin Four, but this was different.
‘That was me,’ he insisted before you could say anything else, a nervous energy about him that you’d never seen before. ‘And –’
‘And Ben from this Earth is bad while the Ben from the other one is sweetness and light?’
Heath scoffed, for a moment seemingly distracted from how dire the situation might otherwise be. ‘Dunno about that, but he’s on our side.’
You heaved a deep breath, grabbed the keys from the side. ‘C’mon, looks like we need to save the town. Again.’
‘Thank you,’ Heath breathed, jumping up and following you out of the house. ‘I owe you.’
You shrugged the comment off. ‘What’re siblings for?’ you asked, knocking your shoulder briefly against his, really hoping that this wasn’t just going to be too dangerous.
