"omg he would never" "no he's a good guy though" "why haven't these women come forward before" "well she's known for being a liar so" "yeah but have you seen the things she used to tweet"
∆ trans women are women, trans men are men, and if you are transphobic, you are not a feminist, this post is not about "Male Violence" or how men are "inherently violent" this post is about people who do not truly have feminist beliefs and people who will do anything to protect cis white men from criticism while attacking any woman who comes out against him. at the core of this instinct is the automatic disgust + hatred people have towards women, even other women themselves. your favorite man is not protected from being a perpetrator of violence against women, your least favorite woman does not deserve said violence ∆

it is truly truly amazing to me how many people will flip on a dime when one of their friends or someone they like is accused of SA and they immediately, after swearing to stand by and believe victims, change their language to “if this is confirmed to be true” or “we don’t know enough” or “this seems like it’s wrong because the alleged perpetrator said it wasn’t true.” you can go ahead and fuck yourself. this neil gaiman and cody ko shit has reminded me how much some of you virtue signal when it’s convenient and then as soon as someone you don’t even know personally, but have a parasocial relationship with gets put in the hot seat it’s all “he wouldn’t do this” he’s famous man, yes he would.

Inspired by the Cody Ko situation…
Shoutout to all “imperfect victims”
Though there are no such thing as an imperfect victim, shout out to all victims who have traits that make people hesitate to believe you.
Shoutout to victims who lie a lot.
Shoutout to victims who have hurt others.
Shoutout to victims who have done bad things.
Shoutout to victims who are “annoying” or “unlikeable.”
Shoutout to victims who are hard to be around.
Shoutout to victims where the lines are blurred.
Shoutout to victims who are “difficult.”
Shoutout to victims who are “complicated.”
Shoutout to victims whose case was quickly dismissed.
Shoutout to victims who were blown off.
Shoutout to victims who were hurt by a “good” person.
Shoutout to victims who exaggerate.
Shoutout to victims who forget details.
Shoutout to victims who don’t “act” like a victim (whatever that means).
Shoutout to victims who are addicts or criminals.
Your reputation and or bad characteristics do not erase what you went through. You know what happened to you is real. And that’s all that matters. I believe you and others will too.

Just a reminder to keep "no idols, no heroes, no gods" mentality. I say this in reference to celebrities and youtubers, etc. I've had this mentality from a very young age. I've only had merch from one creator ever and it was a present. Never put your favorite YouTuber or celebrity on a pedestal, do not idolize them, do not worship them. Over the past month on more recently with some YouTubers and celebrities who many people idolized getting called out for horrible behaviors, I've seen so many people who are "disappointed" and "couldn't believe it." YOU can't believe it, I can. You put these people on pedestals and act as if they are less able to commit atrocious acts or say awful things than other bad people you've come into contact with in your life. They aren't, they are just as able, if not moreso. You don't KNOW them. No matter whose content I'm watching or reading, etc, I never once think that because I deeply enjoy their creation or what they are a part of, it eliminates them from the possibility of being morally wrong or ignorant. I'm not mad at people who have this reaction, being heartbroken, but I simply have learned long ago to not become emotionally invested in creators or celebrities. They are just as bad as real people, they are human. When I say they are human, I'm saying they are just as able to do and say horrible things as people in our own lives are. I'm not surprised by or disappointed in certain information that comes out, because well, I didn't idolize them. It's not surprising to me, because to people in those positions, they are selling you a part of their.personaliy. they are not your friend, they are not people worthy of idolization. You can admire their WORK. But unless you know them personally, even then, do NOT idolize them.

For everyone following YouTube drama like me ohh my god finally a big creator is calling Cody Ko out directly !
I just started the vid but Deangelo saying “no one is talking about this just because the victim is an unlikable woman” is so true. The internet being like, “Well, it’s Tana so who cares.” is such a dangerous precedent…

Just a reminder, "she didnt say no" does not, and will never, mean "she said yes". Just because someone doesnt outright use the word "No" does not mean that automatically means "Yes". Also, as a survivor of s/a, i will not fault any other survivor or victim of sexual abuse for not having the exact date and time of things 100% correct, because it can be hard to remember exact details depending on numerous different factors, like if you were under the influence of drugs, medication or alcohol, or your trauma blocking out details. I personally have an extremely hard time remembering exact dates of things, especially traumatic events. This does not mean it never happened. You personally not liking a victim as a person or not liking some of the things a victim has done does not mean that person is automatically lying about their experiences. You are fully allowed to criticize someone without treating them like theyre lying about experiencing a traumatic event.
You liking the perpetrator does not change the fact that that person committed a crime. You being a fan of the perpetrator does not make their victim a liar. Stop trying to justify abusers purely based on the fact that you personally like them or their content.

The Cody Ko Allegations: It was a CRIME
TW: Sexual violence
Cody Ko has been accused of committing statutory rape against Tana Mongeau. These allegations have been around for years, but he he, his friends, and his subreddit have repeatedly covered them up. I would recommend D'Angelo Wallace's video on the topic.
youtube
Not only has Tana's story stayed consistent, but also, she has a WITNESS. Gabbie Hanna saw what was happening and tried to stop Cody, but he continued anyway.
Gabbie has been seen on video telling the EXACT SAME STORY.
The idea that if you lose good will in the eyes of the public that it doesn't matter what happens to you... it's terrifying. People will do ANYTHING to demand a perfect victim.
It doesn't matter if you don't like Tana or Gabbie. IT WAS A CRIME
Cody's fans have taken two different approaches:
1, insulting Tana in pretty much anyway you can imagine/saying that if Tana is fine, then why should we care
2, demanding a response from Cody. Since Cody has been vigilant with his comment moderation, his fans have moved to his wife's channel to demand an answer.

So basically, after some very helpful person on twitter sent me more details about the Star Wars in universe calendar, I recalculated my clone wars timeline a little. Very little has been moved around, but now you can look at the war through the lens of a 10 or 12 month calendar, and multiple galactic holidays are timelined too!

WWE's Bash in Berlin, 2024
some really multi-layered acting from Kevin here that we haven't gotten to see in a while and I absolutely love: starting with the restless look when he's first clinging to Cody, slight conflict still clear in his body language. then Cody firmly pats him on the back twice, and that smallest bit of violence (the thing which fuels so much of who KO is as a wrestling character), seems to provide either a distraction or a relief from the indecision. we see Kevin's stare move a thousand miles away, until he remembers there's a camera in his face capturing a rare moment of vulnerability and his brow instantly turns in anger as he shoves it away, breaking the moment for both himself and the prying viewer Kevin Owens may never win the war against his impulse to turn on those close to him, but he's won the latest battle and that might be enough for now
