My Very Own Naruto Characters Tier List

PERSONAL. If you don't like it, make your own.

1. Sasuke Uchiha ( Man carried the show, ngl. He was the reason I kept watching most of the time lol)

2. Obito Uchiha ( Best villain idgaf, backstory and angst with a good redemption and a killer finale. Quite literally. Also, he's hot af.)

3. Itachi Uchiha ( I genuinely think I never would've enjoyed the series if it weren't for him. Man was my fav's main conflict for most of the time, and his most beloved after that)

4. Suigetsu Hozuki ( Thank this man for spitting facts and making me laugh, I loved you a lot)

5. Karin Uzumaki ( Funny and so relatable, great duo with Suigetsu, too)

6. Orochimaru (Ngl I hated this mf's guts for most of the series, but in the end he did a complete turnaround, and somehow won me over enough to put him in this spot.)

7. Jugo ( I always appreciate a feral man, especially one as loyal as he was to Sasuke)

8. Tsunade Senju ( She was a great character for most of the time, freaking badass, too. Although, she was let go towards the end. What the fuck did she abdicate for???)

9. Sakura Haruno ( I didn't like her in Naruto, but she was so much better in Shippuden. Her fight against Sasori was great, and even if she was let go, too, I still liked her better than most.)

10. Shikamaru Nara ( deserved more screen-time, deserved to play a bigger role in the end, deserved to be Hokage more than Naruto ever will. I said it.)

I tried to keep it noncontroversial, but I guess it transpires from this that I'm not a great fan of this show's MC. Sorry.

Media I’ve experienced in 2024 (January)

Considering how my other media reviews have been doing I felt unmotivated to just do them individually. So instead I decided to just make a monthly tier list. I’ll list each entry by order I finished them and just give my cliff notes thoughts on them from 1-10. And I’ll include how my opinions on what I’ve reviewed in the past has changed too.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising (8/10)-I wish I had a way of experiencing the beginning of the series to get more context but otherwise the gameplay and visuals are neat

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (9/10)-Considering I finally finished JJK later on, it’s no surprise this movie did a good job at introducing me to the series

Friendship In Disguise (7/10)-Still the same. Art looks nice but overly bright for G1 Transformers. Cool fanservice moments. But relies too much on FiM characters.

Persona 5 Tactica (6/10)-Not a necessary game and is forgettable, but it’s fine in gameplay I guess

Chainsaw Man (10/10)-I love chainsaw

One Piece:Strong World (9/10)-Shiki as a villain has a powerful prescience. The moments when the Strawhats attack him with guns was exciting. And Luffy’s final fight was heart stopping.

Ringu (7/10)-Disappointed that it’s just the same movie as its US counterpart. But still good for starting the story.

Shaun of the Dead (8/10)-Hilarious dark humor, clever dialogue and slapstick.

Kung Fu Panda (10/10)-Seeing this movie as an adult makes me appreciate what messages and humor had in store for a growing audience. Realizing Jackie Chan plays Monkey is the biggest plot twist of my life.

Transformers 1984 Seasons 3-4 (3/10)-Blurr is the bane of my existence and Galvatron’s screaming gets grating. The locations are interesting at least even if they rely too much on fantasy than Sci-Fi

Total Drama Island 2023 Season 2 (8/10)-Priya overstayed her welcome but I found the team and alliance dynamics interesting, it gave more characters the spotlight like MK and Damien, and helped build a connection with past seasons with OG cast cameos.

The Ghost and Molly McGee (8/10)-Good animation, fun characters, Disney stop being Disney and let your shows continue.

Kung Fu Panda 2 (9/10)-The locations and fights aren’t as memorable. Everything else though still hits for me

Kung Fu Panda 3 (8/10)-The Furious Five are really nothing characters if they get soloed by everybody. The humors a bit more obvious, but still keeps the quality of the fights and animation.

Justice League X RWBY Pt.II (5/10)-The first one is a movie I knew I’d dislike. This one is better since the Justice League is more in character but the rogues gallery is baffling and the RWBY designs look weird

The Magic of Cybertron (7/10)-On the same level as its predecessor but with a weirder roster.

Megaman X3 (3/10)-Boring levels, takes trial and error too far, and Zero’s permadeath is a terrible decision

Sonic Prime (6/10)-The animation and voice talents were cool but it drags a bit too long and the same few characters with a different coat of paint on them gets tiring

Tenacious D:The Pick of Destiny (8/10)-So that’s where those YouTube Poop sounds came from. The humor is pretty funny and the chemistry between Jack and Cage is entertaining. And the songs are either hilarious or unintentionally hitting.

Fire Emblem:Three Houses Black Eagles Route (9/10)-While the class and grinding does get repetitive, the story and drama hits hard. Edelgard, Bernie, and Hubert are really compelling and entertaining characters. I do plan to check out the other houses soon.

Transformers:War For Cybertron Trilogy (9/10)-The CGI looks great and honestly works as a prequel to the 84’ series. And when the Maximals came in Season 3 it had me shocked.

Spider-Man 2 (8/10)-A bit of a let down but considering how it’s an 8 shows a testament to the standards to Insomniac’s Spider-Man games. The gameplay is still pretty slick, traversal is fun, and is pretty cool in spectacle. Its main problems is the story, the villain lineup, and a lack of mechanics past games had.

Naruto (8/10)-Yeah, I never grew up on Naruto so i wanted to see what the hype was about. While yes it has its problems like it’s annoying cliches and filler. I did end up liking the characters and settings. And the soundtrack and fights hits.

What If? Season 2 (2/10)-The multiverse has been so tired out it’s hardly interesting anymore

Transformers:Rise of The Beasts (7/10)-The effects and characters are neat, not a fan of the human parts as much as I do Bumblebee.

5. Hinata

I'm not even sorry. She deffo just lies there. Never gets on top. You have to ask for anything and everything, and not even in a sexy, teasing way, more in a 'I don't want to feel like I'm fucking a wooden board' way.

4. Kiba

May God love him because this man is certainly a selfish lover. That's not to say he isn't good - he's great at getting himself off, his brain just kinda shuts off otherwise. If you wanna cum, the onus is on you, because he's fuck-drunk within seconds of you touching him.

3. Kankuro

He's trying, okay?? It's just really fucking hard to keep you in mind when you just feel so fucking good. Kankuro's just inconsistent - that's the main issue. He'll try a million different positions in one session and is always unintentionally edging you.

2. Lee

Now, our darling, Rock Lee, is trying his best, honestly and truly. However, he doesn't know anything about anything, and you have to guide him every now and again. He's got the enthusiasm down, he's just not very good at translating it into pure sexual energy on the fly.

1. Gaara

He's too busy to be good at sex. When he does find the time, y'all get extra down and dirty, but Gaara's still lowkey inexperienced and the irregularity of your encounters doesn't help.

Tier 2 - Good🪩

5. Choji

Bro's got hidden talents, aight? It's a matter of him wanting to utilize them that sets Choji up. Most nights, he's chilling, but on those key few nights, hot damn.

4. Sasuke

I would've put him lower but y'all would've been mad - it's called REALISM. Sasuke would be wayyyyy too busy to put in the work to develop any actual skill in the bedroom, and he would find researching for it so far past disgusting. His good grace would be his natural endowment and prowess, but he's on thin fucking ice.

3. Tenten

Surprisingly stone top vibes, I cannot lie. She deffo gets off on your pleasure, but she's down here because she's kinda bad at first. There would totally be improvement, like obvious and quick improvement, but those first few times were pretty rough.

2. Shino

Baby boy. Sweet boy. Ugh. I love. I wanted him as number one, so I'm not even defending this. Take it up with my lawyer.

1. Naruto

He's not the main character for nothing. Naruto lays pipe, but he can get a bit selfish at times. Never fear though, the second he catches himself, lost in the sauce, another round gets added to his itinerary. He'll be making it up to you tenfold, even if it was just for a minute.

Tier 1 - Fantastic🔮

5. Sakura

With her level of anatomical knowledge, she barely even needs to break a sweat to give you a release. However, she will break a sweat, because she wants to. Just amazing, idk what to tell you.

4. Temari

Got me kickin my feet and twirlin my hair rn - she would be so GODLY in the sack. She's always very present, very attentive, but is so openly expressive in the moment. Temari would have you screaming syllables and seeing colours behind your eyelids.

🥉 Neji

The game my man's got is INSANE. I just know for a goddamn fact that no one dances the horizontal mambo as gracefully as Neji. You're pleased, he's pleased, no one's ever terribly tired or bruised, the limits are clear lines but are never even toed. That's just the reg, too! Special nights would be fucking wild, dude would have wine, and flowers, and candles - he would go the whole nine yards every time.

Be still, my beating heart. Christ. Yeah, Ino's got this shit on lock. She's a vers switch, need I say more? (I do, someone request a fic)

🥇 SHIKAMARU

Oh Em Gee - Shikamaru could have you, heels to Jesus, all night longgggg. The stamina, the will, the knowledge, the capability; it's all there, and no one is as apt to put it all together except for Shikamaru. He would go for hours at a time, until he physically couldn't anymore. He would know exactly what makes your timebomb tick, and he would push every button so deliciously. Fuck, he's a tease too. If you two aren't actively in the bedroom, he's trying to get you there.

Why don’t I see anyone talk about the OG Naruto and Sasuke fight???? I feel like that one was so fucking good. Might be my favorite. Don’t get me wrong their last fight is great, absolutely peak. But the OG one absolutely broke me when I watched it, I was LEGIT crying my eyes out, and yet in everyone’s tier lists or fight videos, I NEVER see it mentioned????? What’s up with that?

So, I decided to do a subjective character ranking of the konoha rookies and the sand sibs, based on how entertaining and well-developed I think they are, based on my opinion. Before proceeding, I'll leave another warning: this is my opinion from my point of view. This is how I feel about the characters. You don't have to agree with it. I respect your opinion if you think differently, as long as you're not rude to mine.

So, with all that said: the tier list will be obviously divided into tiers. I'll classify the characters into what tiers I think fit them the most while leaving a small explanation as to why I put them there. Starting with

S+ tier: Sasuke Uchiha.

Yeah, no surprises here. He literally makes the plot happen, and the story practically revolves around him. He's interesting, his story is great, and his fights are amongst the best choreographed in the series. Only one worthy of this spot.

S tier: Naruto Uzumaki.

Yeah, once again, there's only one single character here. I mean, it's the Mc, so it makes sense for him to be so high. He's interesting in the way viewers can interpret him in many different ways: either the boot-licker state serving hypocrite or the kind, caring, ray of sunshine. He embodies both aspects and is a pretty divisive character, and I think that makes him complex.

A tier: Sai, Gaara.

Yeah, Sai being here is an unpopular opinion. He's introduced pretty late into the story as a Sasuke 2.0, and at one point, it really feels like he was dropped, same as Yamato. But I think he's more than that. He had desires and wishes of his own to form bonds and be more accepted. We see him working at trying to fit in with the others. His story in Root is also a good explanation of his character. Idk, I think Sai's not only relatable, but decent for what he is.

Gaara is more complicated cause I've already stated on occasion that I don't find him well-written. I don't take it back, btw. As a character in terms of development, Gaara felt like a dying plant, a malnourished cactus in his introduction in the chunin exams. Who ends up growing into a strong, sturdy tree with powerful roots completely offscreen, only after the little rain Nart offered with his words. But that aside, Gaara's fights are.... amongst the best. He's one of the characters with the most fights overall, and I think his action scenes really help elevate him. Also, he does have some genuinely good scenes every now and then. Even if it wasn't very well done, his character had one goal in mind, and he achieved it. So good for him, ig?

B+ tier: Neji and Rock-Lee.

Yeah, these two are in the upper midsection of the tier list. The problem with them both is that they were excellent in their introduction before Kishi lost interest in them. Neji suffers from this, especially. They presented cool themes and offered more complexity to the story, showing more of the hidden darkness of a system that not only allowed for a massacre to happen, but also let the Hyuga get away with literal slavery and is also very ableist towards people that can't use ninjutsu. They offered a lot, but their characters went nowhere. Neji never sees justice (I'm not even sure if the Hyuga system was fixed or not), and Lee just..... ends up becoming a joke character, I feel. I heard it's because they were supposed to die in the Sasuke rescue arc, but Kishi let them live cause they were so popular, and from there, he had no idea what to do with them anymore. A pity, really.

B tier: Shikamaru, Kankuro, Shino.

Yeah, these 3 represent the exact middle section of the list. If I were to give numerical grades to these characters, these guys would be nearing the 70s/100. Shikamaru is a passable character. Ik many people hate him (and I'm not precisely fond of him either. I'm just trying to be objective here), but he plays his role well. He has a decent arc of going from unmotivated and lazy to willing to work and do his hardest for those he cares bout, as well as losing his mysoginy and distaste for women. Also, looking at the bright side, he also has a redeeming quality in that he's not a fat-phobe. He's one of very few people, if not the only one, to never shame Chouji for his weight. He accepts him as he is. He even says he likes curvier women, even if..... the girl he settles with is still skinny.

Kankuro is one you wouldn't expect to see here. Most would consider this to be too high of a position for him, but I digress. I firmly believe that in terms of side character writing, Kanks is amongst the best. He also has very decent development for a minor sc. His change from a cruel bully to a protective brother and leader figure is very good! I also think there's a hidden complexity to him, which many people refuse to see, but becomes obvious in the many interpretations you see sand sibs fans have of him. Kankuro can either be a funny sidekick or a serious leader. He can be a bloody killer or a kind friend. He can be the extrovert friend or the introvert freak. He can be the emotional support of the group or completely unaware of the emotions of those around him. He can be direct and not hold back his words or consider them before speaking. All depending on the situation. Now, some might consider this a sign of a character that's not well-defined, but I see it as him being amongst the most human. Imo, at least.

Shino is mayhap the least complex of this trio, but he also had a very decent arc of wanting to be more acknowledged cause he's tired of being forgotten and overlooked. I don't usually pay much attention to him, (sorry shino fans), but I'll also admit the air of mystery he has around him also gives him a 'cool factor' . He's a decent mix of terrifying and 'no, actually. He's pretty effing nice once you get to know him.'

C tier: Chouji, Sakura, Temari, Ino, Tenten.

Yeah, many characters are listed here. I won't go into much detail into all of them. Some of them are just supporting characters with some cool scenes here and there who also had some goals of their own. Sakura is an interesting case cause while on paper she's objectively the girl character with the most accomplishments and the one with the most screentime. It's her motivation that failed her. That, and a personality that many fans view as unlikable. That means that no matter how much good she does, her grating personality will prevent viewers from acknowledging that good she has in her. Also, the fact she can have so many wildly different interpretations of her character by different fans, from some who think she actually had wells of untapped potential, to those who think she simply existed to be annoying and unlikable, to those who keep repeating the sexism allegations, just shows there's more dimensions to her than simply an annoying fangirl. In addition to the many interpretations fans can have of her bond with team 7. There's some who actually enjoy the dysfunctional relationship they have and choose to view it as 'they're kinda toxic but still love and would kill for each other deep down' and that's what makes t7 one of the best in the show. To the people who despise this toxicity and think it's the reason t7 sucks as a whole and that Sasuke's the only good part of it (not mentioning also the huge amounts of people who do hate Sasuke. But that's a whole other can of worms entirely). It just shows how interesting Sakura's character can potentially be to illicit such discussions and arguments.

Temari is, in retrospect, a decent girl character. She just..... doesn't do much, especially when compared to her brothers. She's an ambassador, but most of the time, she just feels like Shikas gf and like that was her most prominent role in the series. It's good that she's not annoying but that just goes to show how low the bar is for female characters in Naruto.

Tenten is just a girly who loves weapons more than anything, and I support her for that. You go, girl.

D tier: Hinata, Kiba.

Yeah, these two are at the bottom. I'm really sorry, but I don't think they offer as much as the others. Kiba has more of a personality, and he's funny and entertaining to watch! His drive is certainly worthy of praise. But he also ended up a joke character who doesn't do much after the Sasuke rescue arc. Hina unfortunately never amounted to much, which is also sad. She could've been great, with the whole Huuga clan plot, same as Neji. Her shyness and anxiety can be relatable to some people. The few moments of courage she had standing up for herself both in the chunin exams vs. Neji and against Pain show there's a more fierce side to her. It's just sad Kishi lost interest in the Hyuga clan as the story went on, and Hinata was just the 'moe kawaii gf most straight Otaku men' dream of. Which is not a good role to be saddled with.

These would be all my opinions, so I hope I haven't offended anyone, and they're treated with respect.

If Naruto didn't exist, Death Note would be my favorite anime of all time. The battle of wits between Light and L is truly something to behold.
