If ya read my head canons, you’d know that the promise Neji had given to Tenten during the war was the implication that he wanted to spend the rest of his life at her side (marriage or otherwise). I think Tenten would’ve convinced Neji to go on a travel adventure with her to explore different hot springs in different nations and check out some weapons shops to see what she could collect after the war. Canonically, Tenten loves hot springs and Neji would usually agree to go with her whenever she asked him to. In my delulu, they were already dating, so this adventure was more of Neji making his decision to marry Tenten; they were the first Konoha couple to get married at nineteen (since they were about 18 during the war). During this trip, Neji had picked up a ring while they were in the land of snow (their last stop of the hot spring adventure) and proposed the night before they began their return to Konoha.
