they should give me complete creative control of the next death note adaptation I’d make it focus on light’s journey as the aftermath of an ocd spiral and the feeling of wanting to absolutely die after it doesn’t just kill you on the spot and the uneasy emptiness that you just can’t fill in the days after and the way you then try to prove you have some sort of purpose because you have two modes you should live because you have a use for something and you should die because you’ve broken the rules of life. no im not projecting. duffer brothers move over

So fucking obsessed with DeathNote because Light and L’s dynamic is mental

They have exactly the same personalities with two completely different views of the world, L is who Light would be if he never tried to come across as ‘normal’, Light is who L would’ve become if he did, they are each other’s only true equal and friend and yet are destined to kill each other and can only possibly meet in the circumstances of having to hunt one another, they both hate to lose but winning means they lose the only person who has ever truly understood them, they both lie to everybody they meet about everything they are but can see through each other clear as day and because of that crave the others total destruction as much as they are relieved at the existence of somebody who understands.

I’m literally on a spectrum they haven’t even discovered yet

Thinking about lawlight movie night crack fic. When they haven't had leads for days, the team makes them watch a movie for "stress relief" (maybe they'll stop fighting for a couple hours). They took away their laptops and phones so they have no choice. Both of them hate the movie but they had to choose from Matsuda's collection because he's the only one who leaves headquarters. Anyway they constantly talk over the TV, judging the poor story quality and plot holes and generally being haters. Light tries to limit L's snack consumption by keeping everything on "his" side of the couch but L just reaches all the way over him bc he doesn't give a shit about Light's personal space. And L constantly changes the position he's in, sometimes hanging his head upside down off the couch, sometimes putting his cold feet up against Light, etc. Needless to say this bugs the hell out of Light. They start getting into arguments about trivial details in the movie, and at one point they decide to bet on how the movie ends, with the loser having to get naked (duh). Both of them are confident that they'll win (L is cheating bc he's seen this movie before) but Light's predictions are off by a hair. L obviously takes this and runs with it, insisting that Light technically lost the bet and it wouldn't be fair if he didn't get undressed now—
