There is so much shit between Dick and Bruce and their relationship is so complicated and interesting.

We are going to talk about Dick and Clark instead!

I love Dick and Clark's relationship. Despite the gap in their age, Clark truly sees Dick as an equal whom he respects deeply. Let's look at some of Dick and Clark's greatest hits:

Anyway, they talk for a bit then Batman tries to beat up Superman for talking to his kid. Lovely little first interaction in this series even though it isn't in the main continuity.

Titans (1999) #2

This is one of my favorite examples of how much trust Superman puts in Nightwing. He is obviously really worried about the guy who tried to steal the moon and a whole bunch of the JLA's children, but he trusts Nightwing to keep a handle on things. Dick is also unafraid to question Clark's motives which shows how comfortable he is with Superman.

I have been living for World's Finest lately, probably one of the best comics DC is putting out right now.

Here Clark understands Dick better than Bruce does pretty immediately. Clark always has Robin's back.

This one is also a cute story. Look at Superman doing Robin's homework like a big softie. It's like watching his two dads play good cop bad cop.

These dorks also planned out Bruce's whole bachelor party. They came at this with the intent of being as annoying as possible while showing Bruce that they care about him and I love that for them.

Levi X Reader | How You Caught His Eye

I think Levi won't be the one who will fall in love at first sight. He'd fall for character over anything else. If he sees you as a strong person who is in control over their life then he might start respecting you.

And once you show him that while you are strong and take the lead in your life you are a total softie too he'll probably admire you the most.

Because of his childhood, he was forced to become this cold and distant. Which people perceive as being strong. He knows this is not what being strong means, dissociating from feelings is just running away like a coward to him.

So when he saw that you fully felt your emotions and were still fighting through? He instantly felt this warm feeling inside him. He didn't name it anything at first. It was just nice to see someone who understands what this life is all about and still never loses touch with their humanity.

You showed him that there was more to life than just these heavy feelings that he carries in his chest for all the people and team members he has lost.

He is a great observer so he never really needed to talk to you to know all these things about you but one time you both were working overtime and met at the mess hall while getting tea.

He wanted to initiate the conversation but to his comfort you did. You asked him about how his last expedition went and you noticed how his demeanor changed when he talked that he lost 2 of his men. You know he was cold and distant, at least that's what you've heard so you figured he never really talked about these things to anyone so you invited him over to do his paperwork in your office.

It was an unusual request for him since he always works alone but he was curious too so he obliged.

And just like that, after a single deep conversation with you made him realize that he IS allowed to forgive himself for the people he wasn't able to save because all of that was out of his power.

And when you told him that even though you are so strict and level-headed with your team, there are times when you fail them too but it is all a part of the learning curve for both of you, HE HAD TO HOLD BACK HIS TEARS.

After leaving your office, he smiled after so many months. Only if you knew that this random conversation for you was such a big deal for him.

Hey! I don't think I've been asked this on tumblr so, time to go on a Rant™️

('03 is my favorite turtle show. It's just so goooood but okay specifically about the turtles--)

oh right i got really long I should add in a readmore--

Gonna start with Mikey. Ah Mikey. I think I called him a gremlin troll of a turtle in some tags earlier and I stand by that. This turtle wakes up every day going 'how can I make someone else (mostly Raph) chose violence'. He is good at reading people and he makes that everyone else's problem. Weaponized Incompetence King. I love him so much. He was my favorite on my first watch through but I don't think I have a favorite any more.

But also he's a good boy!! He wants to help people out. I was rewatching the series but I didn't really get past season 1 so I'm just thinking about the first Turtle Titan episode. He got an idea on how they could be COOL but nobody else was down for it, so fine he'll do it on his own--

10/10 turtle. Menace to society. Probably the smartest Mikey in the turtle multiverse.

Raph. Oh sweetie. Boy has so many feelings and struggles with dealing with them. 😭Relatable. He learns and grows over the course of the series and I'm happy for him. Big softie on the inside, prickly cactus on the outside. Feel like a lot of his anger is just other feelings turning into anger because y'know. Emotions Hard.

He has his struggles and his problems but he loves his brothers. I love his dynamics with everyone. Fighting with Mikey, the way he manages to actually be Soft with Donnie. The way he manages to even out into someone that helps Leo keep his balance over just. Challenging him in a way that sets Leo off. (Remembering the fight over the sword Shredder gave Leo early on now--)

10/10 turtle too. Goober. Not as funny as he thinks he is (and that only makes him more endearing.)

Leo. Oh no honey. Sweetheart. Baby boy. This boy goes THROUGH IT. I've seen a meta about his Trauma and how he's a lot more laughing and joking around pre-Window and then we don't see him lightening up again till Fast Forwards/BTTS. And yeah I can see it. This boy thinks DEEP. Maybe a bit too much so. Internalization King. Give him a nice cup of tea, a warm blanket and a hug please.

He's just so weighted down with the task of keeping his brothers alive. Mikey's the one who wanted to be a superhero but Leo's probably the one who actually has the most 'heroic' temperament. Very keen sense of 'bad things are happening and we can do something about it'. But also 'bad things may happen to us if we meddle too much'. (Which, they do. And then they all almost die because of calls Leo made so of course he handles that extremely well.)

10/10 turtle. Daddy's boy got his Autistic Swag. Ninjitsu is his special interest.

Don. Ah, Donny. (Which is apparently how it's spelled in 03.) Kind soul. Sweetheart. Precious. Absolute menace. Do not let his mild manners fool you. This boy is insane. LEAST common sense out of the four of them. Thinks that playing a flight simulator makes him qualified to fly an actual helicopter. (If Raph had hair Don would absolutely be making it go grey.) Mikey is a menace on purpose. Don? Don thinks he's the sensible, rational one. Which just makes him even more terrifying.

He's such a kind, sweet soul. Loves building his vehicles lol. He's got the combo of being fairly even-tempered and also more mild mannered so he's good at not making any Bickers worse among his family. I love how they all dropped everything and went to check on him in that one episode where he was stressed out and yelled at everyone. 😭

10/10 turtle. Let's not forget this boy had his own PTSD arc in the Back to the Sewers season. Of all places.

Can I ask for some Natsu x Elfman headcanons? SFW and NSFW are both fine.

I like your taste in ships. In fact, I think this might be one of my favorite requests for these characters.

Elfman's absolutely transparent closet (fortress) vs. Natsu's ability to be gay on main without anyone realizing because his boneheaded ass is always on some antics.

Their fights are a thrill. They don't ever manage to get really mad about anything serious, so it's basically just like Natsu's fights with Gray dialed up to 12 for sheer dumb comedy.

One time when they fought, Elfman got the jump on Natsu by announcing one of his Beast takeovers as "Beast Soul: fire-breathing monster!!!!111!!" Natsu fell for it, opened his mouth wide, and got socked right in the jaw and on his ass. No one in the guild has let him hear the end of it since and Macao proudly discusses it whenever possible.

Remember, Elfman is a huge softie at heart and a nature lover. It was him that warmed Happy's egg 'til it hatched, and don't you forget it. Elfman will always share Natsu's soft spot for Happy as well as any docile wildlife they manage to interact with.

Elfman's hair is Happy's favorite place to nap once he realizes Elfman will let him get away with it. The same goes for Natsu but with Elfman's chest instead.

Elfman actually first kissed Natsu on a "date" to a wildlife preserve after having the time of his life. It was a little out of nowhere because he just got overwhelmed with the positive feelings and neither of them had actually discussed, you know, being into each other. But they were inseparable from that point on.

They are, genuinely, one of the happiest pairings I can think of. Their boisterous cheer and general joie de vivre reflects off of each other and magnifies. Natsu is able to have a boyfriend without it overshadowing his relationships with his friends and vice versa. It's not that they don't fight, it's just that they take things so unseriously that they lack sore spots.

On the other hand, the one time they did fight over something serious, it scarred everyone who saw it. Natsu ended up going Dragon Force and K.O.'d Elfman. Elfman waited until he was guilt-wracked the next day and tried to apologize...then turned his arm into Natsu's arm, and walloped him so hard he was K.O.'d in one hit. Nasty reminder that they're two of the strongest wizards on the continent.

Elfman actually travels really frequently and is really knowledgeable about other cultures, despite tending to come off rather uneducated. Natsu suddenly comes off way less prone to offend because he's able to absorb a lot of the way Elfman behaves around strangers and foreigners.

Yes, Natsu and Elfman go on double dates with Lucy and Lisanna. Solidarity.

I am a straight 24 year old female, pronouns are she/her who stands at 5’3 and my star sign is Capricorn. I have long black hair and hazel eyes, fashion wise I normally dress in black and other dark colours as black and purple are my favourite colours, I normally wear skinny jeans and combat boots so generally punk style or goth style. On special occasions I dress more girly, and my love language includes small touches and acts of service and in terms of relationships mutual respect for one another’s interests and hobbies is always a plus.

I’m normally shy when talking to people for the first and scared to approach people. When I get to know people, I am more open and hyper around them. I really enjoy testing myself and improving myself as a whole, I also like to take care of other people and make sure they’re doing okay. I normally spend my time watching horror movies, playing video games, reading, listening to music and I love watching anime’s such as JJBA, Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan etc. My favourite music genre is rock or metal and my favourite group at the minute is Rammstein. My ideal dates are normally visiting museums, anything historical, or going to the cinema and having dinner as long as we bond and spend time together.

~Occasionally you and your two mans will walk into a Kizuki/Hashira meeting and Sanemi and Akaza side eye each other because they do NOT understand how you pulled them.

Heya! Thank you for the ask!! This is a hard question since I’m not very cultured and don’t watch a ton of movies, but I’ll do my best! XD

Genki: I think Genki would like whimsical adventure movies, something maybe like the Harry Potter series that’s imaginative.

Mocchi: since he’s so young, I can see Mocchi liking innocent movies like Disney films. As long as he has someone else with him to watch a movie, since he loves company, he’d be happy with any of them!

Holly: since Holly’s had a rough life, I can see her liking lighthearted and happy movies, but also ones with sad and dramatic overtones as long as they have a happy ending. Maybe something like A Silent Voice, which is a rollercoaster of emotions.

Suezo: I think he’d like comedy and spoof movies, maybe movies like the Naked Gun trilogy, Airplane, or Top Secret. Of course his secret favorite movies fall in the porn category though! XD

piedad narváez (my oc). daughter of urania, muse of astronomy. they/she. claimed soon after arriving to camp, has an okay relationship with her mum but only because she's an only daughter lol powers are orpheus-like in that whenever she plays music they can entrance people, can also navigate using the stars. then while doing research i realised urania had a prophetic aspect and now piedad sometimes receives premonitions when looking at the stars. weapon of choice are knives and has a violin as a support item for the music stuff, the bow of which turns into a stiletto knife.

hudson moretti (fluffy's oc). son of hypnos, god of sleep. he/him. big guy but a huge softy, a sleepy jock if that's a thing. less than having a bad relationship with hypnos he just doesn't have a relationship with him at all lmao because hypnos is bad at checking in on his kids. has the standard kid of hypnos powers like inducing sleep and also dreamwalking and dream discarding. uses a sword as weapon. him and piedad obviously stayed at the hermes cabin and they were sort of the de-facto counsellors of the claimed kids with no cabin. everyone uses him as a pillow because he makes sleeping safe and cosy.

ericka mulligan (oc of our other friend). daughter of demeter, goddess of harvest. she/her. starts out as the counsellor of cabin 4 until deserting before som. demeter favoured her for being the counsellor but everyone in cabin 4 knows mum will never love you as much as she loves persephone. the "manager" of the team, in a way, she has a schedule and a list for everything. standard demeter kid powers like plant growing, etc. i actually have no idea what her weapon is?? gotta look it up. one-sided crush on luke rip. would have put her hands on the fire for him.

adam rubio (another oc of mine). son of apollo, god of music. he/him. i specify god of music because adam got the music aspect of his dad's attributes, if he sings or plays an instrument he can do all sorts of things ranging from inducing sleep to inducing pain. has no opinion of apollo one way or another. not actually part of the titan army! he stays behind and it's a huge conflict with the others. main weapon is the recurve bow but knows how to use a sword for survival reasons.

allegra anders (npc). daughter of tyche, goddess of fortune. she/her. she and her twin sister rachel were staples in cabin 11, until rachel joined the titan army and left allegra behind. haven't really explored her character in depth but i know she has a special coin she fidgets with a lot.

robin holloway (npc). daughter of hebe, goddess of youth. she/her. another staple of cabin 11, doesn't join the titan army just like allegra. hudson's ex-girlfriend lmao probably the nicest girl you will ever meet. we wanted conflict and also to populate camp with more "older" demigods, that's why these two girls are here.

and we also did stuff like ageing up malcolm pace to be luke's age and now he is the counsellor of cabin 6 because annabeth was literally 12 in tlt. she's co-counsellor due to being a lot more proactive than malcolm. and we also aged up alabaster torrington to be one or two years younger than luke, just because i doubt a bunch of demigods in their 20s would have been like "yeah let that 15yo participate in meetings". we always saw the titan army as more a congregation of young adults than teenagers, basically the demigods who've been here too long and are tired. not featured here are some "name only" background characters like counsellors for other cabins, because we stuck to what annabeth says in tlt about all counsellors except her being of college age. in our take of pjo these counsellors would leave for the army and leave their teenage siblings at the head of the cabins, which would be the counsellors we see throughout pjo

okay with the stage set now let me Actually talk about these guys

@on-the-river-lethe (aka fluffy) and i have done most of the work here. our other friend isn't as insane about pjo lmao. on top of the changes to some ages and whatnot we also did a crucial change regarding luke's quest mates not dying in the garden of the hesperides, instead he is accompanied by piedad and hudson who are both brutally injured by ladon. luke gives up the chance to take the golden apple while ladon is distracted more or less killing his friends to help them. piedad does lowkey die and while passed out receives a premonition of luke with golden eyes. we have an overview of how the quest goes and to add insult to injury hermes sent luke on a fetch quest just to keep him from getting antsy, it wasn't for anything heroic.

things go back to business as usual with all three of them baring the scars of the failed quest, it hits luke the worst. when kronos starts stirring things up in his brain ericka, hudson and piedad don't follow because of kronos but because they believe in luke. luke is their friend, luke is the best of them, luke is the poster-child hero, if anyone can bring change it's luke. ericka and hudson abandon camp before the events of som, piedad sticks around. the premonition is worrying and they're not sure what to do about it. but life at camp without her friends becomes unbearable. she's just another cabin-less demigod in cabin 11, she's a low risk cabin-less demigod in cabin 11. before the events of ttc she makes the switch fully.

because we discovery write a lot of the details i can't say exactly what happens while they are all in the titan army proper. i know piedad doesn't desert camp until the battle in camp at the end of botl, they'd gone back in the summer to be a spy. we know that when luke suggests bailing on everything once he realises kronos used him hudson in particular gets on his case about it (slams luke against a wall) and yells at him about how they risked everything for him, he can't run now, they won't leave every demigod that believes in them to die. we know they go with luke to see may castellan and she grabs piedad by the shoulders and yells about luke's fate to her face. piedad had kept the premonition to themself this whole time and luke, obviously fed up about his fate being kept from him, snaps.

i have written a couple of one-shots for this. i have one about piedad having a conversation with kronos where she bluffs about him getting to the throne room in olympus and luke dying (she was right) and probably has some of my favourite quotes. one of the immediate aftermath of the garden of the hesperides where apollo warns her against telling luke. this monstrosity about adam, the son of apollo mentioned above, who took over my brain and is set after the events of tlo.

(we call the group of luke, ericka, hudson and piedad the "generals" btw.)

the aftermath of everything is a little clearer than the actual events within pjo. ericka, hudson and piedad move to chicago where hudson is from. they stay with hudson's mum for a while before getting their own place. they are pretty much war criminals now, son of magic style, and the olympian council wants them out of the picture. they may not be children of the big 3 dangerous but they did grow in power while being generals of the army. they did not stay to receive any possible pardons or sentence, following the battle of manhattan they simply fled. apollo offers piedad a position as a sibyl, due to her prophetic abilities, it's not a pardon of any kind but it is a bit of protection as harming an oracle is strictly forbidden. they never set foot in camp again.

i like to picture them as a possible pit-stop during tlh. jason, piper and leo would be running from a monster and see this neon sign advertising a sibyl of all things and offering card readings. they go inside and what they find are former titan army soldiers. a guy drinking a large cup of coffee. lots of plants everywhere. and the sibyl is a short scarred enby.

not everything is set in stone and we have much to explore still, like morpheus (hudson's brother) siding with kronos. ericka probably never spoke to demeter ever again, or more like demeter never spoke to her again after she disappointed her so. and just because this is our au and we can do whatever, the generals meet nico and form a bit of a relationship with him. not that we need an excuse apart from "fluffy and i really like nico and we want our ocs to interact with him", but it does fit nico's tendency to just be in on everyone's business. and i think it would be hilarious if he knew about the generals, was friends with them, stayed at their place sometimes, and just never mentioned it at chb.

uh. what else. um... piedad/adam is a thing because i wanted my daughter of a muse oc to have a thing going with a son of apollo. we made malcolm/hudson a thing and it's amazing. i could talk for hours about adam, but right now i'll say he becomes head counsellor of cabin 7 after lee fletcher dies in botl (lee in our version would have been a veteran camper, older than luke).

man this ran long oops. sorry for mostly talking about my oc, it's because they're my oc. i talk even more over on my main blog, about the pjo versions but also the original versions (the worldbuilding is based on dreams).

hi :) i'd like to ask for the Weird Questions for Writers, questions 7, 24 and 25? :))

7. What is your deepest joy about writing?

Oh gosh, I don't know if I can pinpoint this. There's so much I love about writing. I know one thing that I really love is when I'm able to write a story that's just really satisfying—whether it's actually satisfying in terms of what the characters want and/or need, or it's just satisfying to me as the author because I accomplished what I wanted with it (making a point, filling a plot hole, etc.) I love the moment I can see my time and effort starting to pay off because it's all coming together nicely. I don't know if that's what I'd really call my deepest joy about writing, but it's the best I can come up with right now.

24. How much prep work do you put into your stories? What does that look like for you? Do you enjoy this part or do you just want to get on with it?

It depends on the story. One shots for the most part don't have a whole lot of planning involved, I just start writing and see where it goes. That's usually how novels and multichap fics start, too, honestly, but the more the plot develops, the more I have to stop and sort out how to make all the different plot elements work, especially if it's something complicated. For example, I have one WIP combining three different fandoms, and before I could do any actual writing for it, I had to determine which characters in the story I'm writing represent which characters in the story the fic is based on, and also which plot points I was going to change and how.

The prep stage can be really fun, especially if a story has a particular theme or aesthetic that I can dive headlong into—I have one novel in the works that's set in a beach town, so it was really fun developing that setting and sort of designing it as a tourist trap that most people just visit, but to my characters, it's home. I have another story that kind of developed a fairytale complex, and I've assigned each of my central characters a fairytale type role (fairy godmother, evil dragon, knight on a white horse, etc.) even though these details are never brought up in the actual text, and the story itself isn't a fantasy or set in medieval times. It's easy to get wound up in behind the scenes details like that, but I also get kind of impatient and want the concepts I'm forming to already be fleshed out so I can just start spending time in that world, whether by writing or rereading. It's like trying to assemble a dollhouse before you can play with it, you know?

25. What is a weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story?

K, here's one for one of my oldest OC's: Joe tells everyone that his dog is named after Rose Tyler from Doctor Who. The truth is that she's named after Rose Dawson from Titanic, because that's his favorite movie. Everyone already knows that he's a geek, but he doesn't need them knowing just how big of a softie he is, too. His parents are unaware of this and think Rose just has dual namesakes, or they forget which one she's named after. His sister knows exactly what he's doing, but she doesn't say anything about it because she's a real one.

Tek's Birthday!

"We can do breakfast and a show." Not having any sort of plans, other than simply adjusting to the now, it was nice to be invited to what was apparently a big event for their household; even if Siren had no clue what she was getting into. Though, in the comfort of an old friendship, she'd take just about any excuse to hangout with Quinn. However, it did seem as though a certain someone could use their help. "God bless." Releasing a sound of humor, Siren motions over to the content blob of intoxication. At least Robin was a happy drunk. "One of us might have to hold her up."

"Well, I hope so. I put down my chicken nugget money for this match." Sure, Robin may have known Sierra for much longer but there had never been a day were she put down someone the way Beatrix did to Devin. At least, that Robin knew about. She beams, feeling confidence boosted from a solid chance at double fast food and the amount of shots sloshing through her insides.

Not that she would have let on but under normal circumstances, Shaun's arm around her would have been a welcomed notion. Unfortunately, tonight it came with a cheap imitation and weird, unflinching eye contact. Oh yeah, Shaun was fucked up. "And I wish you could do a better accent." Titling her head as a hand plucks away her grasp, Lilith perks a mock smile before making her way to reclaim her seat and toss the chip bags on the table.

Jade had simply assumed that Sam was only humored by her girlfriend's transition of softie to controlled rage. So, the reaction mostly goes unnoticed. She does, however, notice Shaun in her drunken state put her arm around Lilith. Even clearly dicking around, it was so obvious. Christ, were they going to pull a Rebel and Tek and take two years to get on with it? Because it sure as fuck seemed so. Being reunited with the summer heat and parted from the nosiest of the bunch, Jade shuffles the pack of cigarettes out of her pocket before breaking from Sierra to join the table. "Use that anger. It'll help."

"Oh, I plan on it." Feeling boosted by the power of her boo and the pop hits of the early 2000's playing from the speakers inside, Sierra begins her journey down the steps to start the show. It was normal for her to be a little nervous about these types of things. Beatrix was no push over. Clearly. But, also, she was super pumped to have a challenge.

"It's okay. It's just one more round." Hell, Rebel felt the same. All she wanted to do was squeeze her and kiss her and gross out Devin. But she had to be strong! "They're going to tear each other to shreds. It's gonna be amazing!" She giggles with excitement, pulling Tek into her arms. Of course, she wasn't going to leave her lady out in the cold. A cuddle drop off was in order. Though, the candidates....Who was worthy? She was still mad at Siren for delaying their Attack on Titan marathon. So, that was out. Robin was fucking wasted. She couldn't be trusted to hold herself up. Lilith and Shaun were too busy flirting. Quinn, while a great friend, might teach her karate that would later cause consequences. To Tek herself. Sam was also great but they barely knew each other. And Devin was just a butt! That left the drama queen himself. "Aiden, take your husband!"

He had already snagged a seat in-between Robin and Devin, ready to see the brawl unfold. His bet was Sierra, naturally, knowing how frightening she was when angry. Flipping his hair back, Aiden grins wide as his eyes meet the newlyweds and he leans his head back to let out a long, high pitched moan. "Come here and give me that sugar, daddy!" He wasn't getting up. They should've known this.

"Really? That bad, is it? I watched it so many times—for practice." Shaun laughs lightly, her arm falling limply to her side. She had done it unthinkingly, but a small prickle of insecurity surfaced at the rebuff, though was quickly masked with the light response. Perhaps Lilith didn't want her touching her. Shit, whoops. Shaun sets her drink on the table and digs for her cigarettes before taking her seat, folding her idle hand in her lap. "Keep your arms and legs close to your body, she likes going for submissions." She remarks idly to Sierra before she leaves. Of course she had bet on Beatrix, as planned, but she didn't want what happened to Devin to repeat. "I don't think she'll go in quite as hard, but she might if she's worried you'll win."

"Sounds like a plan." Quinn smiles, giving her a small nudge with her arm. "You'll dig it, trust me." And speaking of new roommates that were a little messy, she follows Siren's gesturing to their future one sitting on the chair like a liquid. Lordy.

"Chicken nugget money? Well, now I have to win." Beatrix chuckles, though was thankful for Siren and Quinn coming in behind them. "You might." She remarks to Siren's comment. "She's absolutely plastered."

"Well, I still got an open lap, if you need some strong shoulders to rest on." Quinn teases, tilting her head with a pursed smile. Oh yeah, Robin was hammered. "Two guns just for you, girl."

"Pfft. Well, make sure she's okay, prince charming." Beatrix shakes her head with a sound of humor. "Mama's got lives to ruin." Giving a small salute and smile, she turns to head back out to the grass.

"Okay, one more round. For battle!" Tek relents with a warm smile, delighted to get a little lovin' before they had to separate. And even with her wife making eager and tantalizing mating calls, she still leans up to plant a soft peck against Rebel's cheek before releasing her. "The beauty of polygamy, I can have plenty of sloppy cuddles until you return!" She grins before turning to plop heavily in Aiden's lap, knowing full well he wasn't about to come get her. "No tears, my delicate flower. Papa's here! To take that delicate flower." She grins, running a finger down his chest.

Laura Bailey’s Lois is great

I don’t particularly care for Travis Willingham’s Clark. His Superman is fine, but his voice sounds wrong coming out of mild-mannered journalist Clark Kent.

Love the whole opening. Especially love the old comics-style (complete with benday dots) montage of Clark’s life up until Jon’s birth

Glad to see we’re skipping the complicated multiverse stuff

Jon immediately jumping to “cosplay” as the reason for the Superman costume under the bed has made my day

But also Clark why was it just under your bed. Presumably while you were on a League mission for two weeks.

You stumble into the medical tent, plopping your sweaty body down on a cot. Dirt covered hands rummage through a med kit until they come across a bundle of white bandages. You form them tightly around your thigh, applying pressure that you hoped would stop the bleeding. You’d really messed up on the mission today, completely misfiring your ODM gear when the first titan came into view. Your legs hit a tree branch, hard. Nerves would often get the best of you like that.

And now you’re left with the consequence - a giant gash. The sight of it made you feel faint. Blood wouldn’t cease to seep through the mesh material surrounding your wound, even after rewrapping it a few times.

You pack some extra gauze into it before trying to stand up and go to find the rest of the group. Before you take your first step, the tent door flies open. 

“I’ve been looking everywhere for you! What’s wrong?” Reiner shouts, rushing over to your side. 

You secretly relished in the feeling of him worrying for you sometimes. 

This whole dynamic between the two of you began from a chance pairing in some training exercises. Reiner had played the cocky tough guy at first, trying to show off and take over every exercise the two of you were supposed to do together. This irritated you to no end, obviously. Your solution was to get under his skin: make him laugh, tease him and poke at him until that hard headed exterior of his cracked. With time, it eventually did, revealing a big softie who cared for you more than he’d like to admit. 

“Just me folding under pressure. The usual,” you sigh, taping your bandages down, “it’s just a scratch.”

“Don’t lie, let me see it,” he says gently, crouching down in front of you to inspect your injury. 

“No!” you laugh as you press a hand onto your bandage, “I’m perfectly fine! We need to get going, anyway.”

Reiner looks up to you, unimpressed. He could always see right through your fibs. You smile guiltily at him as he stands up. 

“I’m not convinced that’s just a scratch,” Reiner mumbles.

“Sure it is! Just watch,” you declare as you walk toward the exit. 

You couldn’t hide your limp. 

“Nope. Absolutely not,” Reiner interrupts. He stands in front of you and motions for you to get on his back. You sigh, but reluctantly climb on anyway. 

You loop your arms around his neck as he moves his hands to support your thighs, being extra careful around your injury. 

The pain wasn’t getting any duller, even though you weren’t trying to walk now. You lay your cheek down on Reiner’s shoulder as his big strides carried you toward the horse and cart that was set to take everyone back to headquarters. Your body goes limp on the short journey, feet dangling and heavy eyes closing. 

Reiner gently sets you down beside him whenever you two reach your ride. He instinctively puts a big arm around your sore shoulders, pulling your body in close to his warm chest. 

“That better just be a scratch, or you’re never gonna hear the end of it,” Reiner teases, squeezing your arm. 

You huff in response, closing your eyes again. 

The rest of the group eventually arrives at the cart - most of them as sweaty and beat up as you were. However, you were feeling weaker by the minute. 

“Woah, y/n, you ok? You look pale...” you hear Annie question as she boards the cart.

You look down to your leg, quick to cover it with your hands before Reiner could see. Blood had made its way through your bandaging again.

“Yeah, I’m just fine,” you laugh nervously, “thanks Annie.”

You weren’t fine. You were becoming increasingly lightheaded - feeling yourself break into a cold sweat as your breathing becomes shallow.

The cart eventually starts to move, its wooden wheels creaking as it makes its way over the bumpy path home. You try to focus on the scenery moving around you, but your vision is too blurred. 

The state of your body was now making you nervous. You decide to close your eyes and lean your head against Reiner’s chest, gripping a sweaty hand on the back of his shirt, trying to ground yourself.  He rubs his hand up and down your arm slowly in response, calming you down a bit.

“We’re almost home. I’ll get you feeling better once we’re there, ok?” Reiner says.

“Ok…” you smile, beginning to feel yourself fade in and out a bit.

The cart finally comes to a halt. Reiner stands up before you and helps your woozy legs to straighten with the support of his hand in yours. He steps off the wooden cart first, opening his arms up so he could pick you up again. 

“Reiner, I’m okay,” you say, letting go of his hand, “promise.”

You look down at the dusty ground from your position on the cart, now standing completely unassisted.

Ok, just a small step, right? Three feet at most. Just move your foot forward, out into the abyss below the cart. 

Suddenly, your vision is a mere tunnel, blackness encroaching rapidly from the outsides of your eyes. Your body is in free fall, no longer under control of your mind. 

The last thing you sense is a pair of big arms catching you princess style.

“Dammit!” Reiner hisses, turning fast on his heels toward the infirmary. He’s quick to dodge the other scouts walking away from the cart, moving as fast as he could while keeping your limp body still in his arms. 

I’m always so fucking oblivious. Why do I ever listen to her? Always trying so hard to make sure she’s not being a burden. Of course she was lying to me, why couldn’t I have just taken better care of her from the start?

He slides through the infirmary front doors, alerting some nurses behind the desk of your condition. He keeps you tight in his arms as they swiftly guide you to a room. You let out a little groan once he sets you down on the hospital cot. 

God dammit. This is all my fault. Damn I can’t stand to see her face like this, all tensed up - she must be in so much pain. Shit, I am not about to tear up right now. 

Nurses rush over to you, quick to put you on some fluids and start sewing up your leg. Your condition quickly stabilizes, allowing the nurses to give you some much needed time to sleep off your injuries. 

Reiner insisted on taking over the nurses' duties after that point. Big, gentle hands would change out your bandaging every so often, along with keeping cold rags on your head and holding your hand when looks of discomfort appeared on your face. In his mind, it was the least he could do to subdue his guilt - to make it up to you.

He sat there all night, a big nervous mess in the chair he pulled up next to you. He hated getting so emotional like this, especially around someone who he needed to believe he was invincible. Luckily for him, you were still sleeping like a baby, unaware of his concerns. 

You finally open your groggy eyes early in the morning - the sun hasn't even peaked over the horizon yet. Your unfocused gaze wanders to the side of the bed. 

There he is - his head sits in his hand as he stares out the dark window from his chair. His short blonde hair is disheveled, probably from nervous hands running through it all night. Dark circles encompass his upper cheeks. He clearly hadn’t slept a wink.

“Hey,” you whisper.

Reiner jumps a little bit from his daze, quickly turning to look at you. He lets out a long sigh of relief, wiping a hand down his tense face.

“You had me worried sick,” he grumbles. You hum in response, a sleepy smile accidentally forms across your cheeks.

He half-smiles back, studying the sweet look on your face, “I’m just glad you’re alright.”

“Did you sleep?” you question.

He blushes a little, “You don’t need to be worrying about me, y/n.”

You scoot over on your cot, pulling the sheets down to expose a little spot for him to lay. His eyes get wide, darting back and forth between you and the empty half of the bed a few times.

He gets up from his chair quietly and makes his way to your bed, sliding under the white sheets and placing his tired head on the pillow. You move in close, placing your head in the nook between his chest and his bicep. A muscular arm wraps around your waist as his head leans over to rest against yours.

The two of you lay together in the silence of the hospital, chests rising and falling at slowing rates. You felt completely at ease now, knowing all the lengths Reiner had gone to in order to keep you safe.

“You know, once I wake up,” he yawns, his words becoming slower and slower as sleep creeps over him, “you're never… gonna… hear… the end of it.”
