Every post you make about HSR just heightens my morbid curiosity about it, especially since while I played the game. I didn’t even get to belobog. Played the tutorial space station whatever and stopped. Literally what the fuck is going on in HSR.

don't be bamboozled by my personal funny presentation, most of hsr story is very boring. like, belobog is very whatever basic plotline that is basically lady and the trump but with lesbians. lesbians are cute ngl, but the ending is ruined. then next region is china, and it's somehow extremely bad and boring. not even in a crazy way, its just boring and there is no character development and shit just happens

then the latest region is america and ok, this one is kind of a shitshow. SPOILERS i guess. so we have america region that is like art deco styled, very stylish, and its thing is that its like a former prison planet that was owned by space amazon corporation, but then rebelled and threw them out. space amazon corporation btw does slavery and like buys and enslaves entire planets, but game still doesnt let u treat them as obvious villains and every time u try to tell them to fuck off, you have to listen to long lectures about how its not that simple.

anyway, so like currently hsr america is like a vacation spot that is selling dreams to ppl, like it has dream space you can go to, and its like very pretty new york basically. but then turns out oh oh, underneath pretty "golden" dream there is poor people ghetto that is used to sustain and power up the pretty dream. there are like hours of dialogues about like how poor get their value "extracted" and blah blah. also there is a nuclear bomb about to go out, but dont mind that, every hsr plotline has same nuclear bomb, its like their gnosis. there is also slavery storyline about a guy who was bought as a slave by amazon and now he's working for amazon enslaving other planets. this guy is white and blond and he's discriminated against bc he has purple eyes. yeah, its america region with huge slavery theme with NO poc playable characters and the main guy with slavery storyline is white. if u thought natlan is worst hoyo could do lol.

another big stylistic theme is christianity, like its a very religious planet and they have like a race of angel-like ppl, they are humans, but they have halos and wings sticking out of their ears. for example, ayaka there is a pop star angel who is basically mormon missionary.

anyway, in the final act instead of resolving obvious conflict of poor ppl being exploited and amazon trying to buy the planet back, they do surprise twist where turns out ayaka's priest brother ayato is a villain who wants to create catholic matrix. bc he thinks poor ppl are too weak and can't live by themselves. heroes stop him by asking raiden (its actually raiden, not like parallel character like ayato and ayaka) to do 9\11 and this somehow brings ppl together. poor ppl keep getting exploited and amazon buys half of the planet. blond guy slavery plotline goes nowhere. raiden says her name is raiden, hi3 fans cheer. oh, there is also a cowboy who's there for like 3 seconds, he does nothing except one deus ex machina. he looks like genderbent version of arlecchino, but from wish and a cowboy.

here are my tips: just draw. draw and draw and draw. you won't get better if you don't practice.

see an art style you like? what do you like about it? adapt what you like about it into your art style! make it your own! there is nothing wrong with practicing the art styles of other artists in order to learn, that's literally what they taught us to do over and over in art classes in school. it also helps you to develop your own style!

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH TRACING. you can learn alot by tracing. of course, don't go tracing someone's art without permission. you can find plenty of bases and guides online for posing and also just references in general! take those! trace over them! again and again and again! then try drawing them on your own!

make shitposts. most of my art tends to be shitposts. make things that are silly. make things you'll laugh at. if you're always trying to make serious stuff and not liking it, make something that will make you smile instead

there is also nothing wrong with drawing the same thing over and over again. got a character you like, be it your own or from a media you enjoy? fuck it. draw that guy hundreds of times for fun. you like that guy? draw them. make yourself happy

also. CHANGE THE BRUSH/TOOLS YOU USE. sometimes a different brush makes a HUGE difference. i change my main brush every couple of months because i get bored of using the one i always use. change your brush, play around, experiment, see how you feel

i don't really have any tips past that, but if you struggle with something, there are LOTS of guides online you can look at! you don't even need to be exact with following them, you can follow them in your own way too if the exact way isn't working for you!

i think i like writing most about robert fischer:) ik it probably doesnt translate considering ive written most for jonathan crane but robert fischer is just such a little sweetheart to me,,, and can go both ways in being a sassy dom douchebag or being a sobbing daddy issues sub darling LOLLL i just think he has a lot of duality to delve into and develop (which ive definitely not done so far☠️) and it helps that his characterization in inception was also very surface level— i have a lot of wiggle room y’know??

i think im most proud of “dine & dash” which im aware probably no-one has read, but getting chris o’doyle’s sassy little dialogue down was like taming a wild beast,,, otherwise, considering my more well-known work, i rly liked writing “honey, i’m home”. i go crazy for the unhinged readers (if u couldnt alrdy tell lmaooo) and seeing jackson get messed with like that was a real treat.

i seriously just recommend anything by @mypoisonedvine,,, they’re literally genius & are the reason i started writing for cillian:)!! other mentions include kitten fics by @pictureinme and, a personal fave, @floralcyanidee’s jackson rippner mile-high club fic!!! these writers are all incredibly talented and im just blown away at their work every single time🫶

my thirst is such a big motivator for writing LMAO😭i wrote “guinea pig” ‘cus i wanted to absolute wreckkk jonathan crane and have him be a sub, and i got a 6.8k words long fic out of said thirst! music & book quotes motivate me a lot too— i spend sm time digging thru my pinterest for a good quote for the beginning of my fic its actually insane☠️and yes,,, im ashamed to say ive abandoned fics numerous times,,, but thats because they were series’, not oneshots. i get bored of series’ pretty quickly, ‘cause i feel kind of trapped by the initial dynamic or mood set in the first chapter. with oneshots, its like writing one long chapter of this trope and this kink or whatever and then its done, and i dont have to exhaust myself going back to tropes or kinks or storylines ive already done.

i think reading made me a better writer. expanding my vocabulary through the words of others was a biggie; seeing something be described in a certain way in someones story had me thinking of out-of-the-box ways to describe another thing (that doesn’t make much sense but lets pretend it does😭). i have many, many doubts about my work, like constantly, but i usually just suck it up. i sound like an attention whore but seeing the reposts & comments & tags on my other work reminds me people like what i’ve written before and certain people will enjoy what ive written now, so i should just finish my work for them. i also take like 100 years rereading my stuff until i think its good enough lmao,,,

ive kinda watched his whole roster of films (atleast ones i could actually find on the internet and not gone missing as a lost piece of media lmao) and i could probably write for any cillian character given i had a good idea and proper motivation. writing for certain characters is definitely harder for me to do though, so its likely i wont write for them/will take a long time to do so. an example is lenny miller— anna was such an insufferable movie to me, and lenny’s screentime wasn’t long at all, atleast not long enough for me to properly grasp his character. he just felt like a horny hardass fbi goof the whole time i could not take his 5’7 ass seriously😭cillian is smexy as hell in anna tho, so we’ll see😈another would probably be robert capa from sunshine,,, hes beautiful and deliciously musty in that but the whole spaceship setting kinda freaks me out (considering i know 0 zilch nada about space, spaceships, or anything of the sort, so it’d definitely be inaccurate). an au with him id definitely do, though! in all seriousness my favorite characters r probably laurie, dan and rorschach :) i want to pin adrian to a corkboard like a moth and study him. adrian himself isnt an interesting character (or atleast as interesting as the others) but lord his dynamics w others need to be put on trial i think there's so much shown potential there. comedian is interesting and manhattan is too i jut also hate them both w a burning passion. obviously both of them are insane parallels abt the lost of humanity due to trauma that is treated as the norm or seen as simply just "as things are" (u ever think abt how comedian was 16 when he joined the minutemen? the same age laurie was when she joined the crimebusters?)

Honestly, it took me a min to process this weeks episodes.

I have been reading people thoughts about the episodes, and i miss when the Islanders had their own personal opinion on MC.

I'm also getting tired of FB desperately trying to make LI so shady in this case, Lewie, for me.

Like pls make up your mind. Is Lewie a sweet guy, or is he a red flag. Is Jamal the chilled cool guy, or is he a snake. Like i get there has to be drama but why is everything surrounding MC at least season 2 and 4 we had Priya/Noah/Hope drama Lottie or mc/Rocco/Marisol drama and 4, the whole Lexi/Kobi/Valentina.

If this is an attempt to bring back the story line of MC and Bruno, they are failing horribly.

At this point, i just feel like Ozzy is obviously the main character, I like him, but i really wanted to pursue and look into the other routes before his slow burn.

I did like that we finally got to interact abit with amelia and she wasnt mixed in the drama, but Pls for the love of god just get over what you have to say because i promise you i dont care if its anything Zeph involved.

I liked Lewie getting jealous, and im not gonna lie. i liked the whole (Suresh/Arlo) moment looking at each other through the dates, i wish we could have flirted like we did then, but i was a Suresh Girlie. But definitely, last season gave me whiplash, and i was hoping for a cleaner route the first time around.

The whole recoupling was so rushed like i was literally just coupled up with Lewie the night before????

Every single season since s2 we've all been like bring back s2. give us what we had back then. and I know when s2 was out people complained that MC was constantly in someone else's drama and it was too centered around the villa and not us. but why didnt they tweak that just a tiny bit instead of giving us the most boring season of life with s3. s4 I think is the closest we ever got to s2 because we actually had routes that season but we also had one of the ugliest MCs of all time. no need to drudge up the past on s5...I was a suresh girlie too and man they put literally everyone in hell every single week. I have some ptsd after that season and still havent been able to replay it. I know we said we wanted recouplings back after having zero last season but we actually wanted some control over them!! we didnt want fb to just dictate them all over again. fb lowkey has ruined the LJR route for me. one I hate that those THREE guys all have the exact same route. and then if you aren't romancing the other two u literally never see them or talk to them. S2 I never romanced Ibrahim or Gary and was never coupled with them but I actually got to know them and even though we were just friends I knew so much about them. We know nothing about the other guys. Some people have sent me asks about head canons for Roberto and I havent been able to answer them bc I literally dont know that man. the only people I know are Ozzy and Lewie and even then the convos have been kind of surface.

100% without a doubt b*utarou. every time that thing is treated like a major character and not the boring flop 6/10 at most minor character he is, an angel dies. i was lukewarm abt him before season 4 but since the merch ppl started cranking out merch and promo material with him with the energy theyve never spared for infinitely more interesting and relevant characters the sight of him has become headache-inducing. teasing him like he's the big new antagonist or an addition to the main trio when there is nothing about him that stands out. his themes of 'finding a home/making a home for yourself' are explored perfectly fine by sugimoto and he does nothing to elevate that, offers no interesting new perspective, i dont even find it sympathisable as his way of going about it is 'once i have enough money ill colonize some seasian nation and impregnate its locals. because im lonely and afraid of being forgotten or whatever'. he had no fun chemistry with the group nor were any of his relationships particularly meaningful, what he and shiraishi had felt extremely shallow compared to shiraishi's relationship with sugimoto, asirpa and kiroranke. all he did was smile and annoy people and swim. if he had the same amount of presence as the convicts usually have i might have liked him but nothing he does warrants the amount of screentime he had or attention he's getting.

aside from him i dislike koito and tsukishima, not rlly a fan of tanigaki either but hes funny and i tolerate him. all 3 used to be in my top 4 when i first watched the anime, but all 3 completely stagnated imo. tanigaki simply overstayed his welcome and dragged inkarmat down with him, koito and tsukishima could've been interesting but were fumbled. would like to talk abt this more but i feel like my answer is too long already 😭 i do Have Thoughts abt those three so feel free to ask. ive also been getting annoyed at how much im seeing vasily these days, like guys. that's a kantarou level character why does it feel like hes getting more fanart than shiraishi... but hes a quirky white boy with the ogata effect so the girlies obsessing over him is not rlly a surprise.

just finished fallout the show but holy shittt dude i havent watched a show this good in a whiiile. part of it could probably be contributed to the excellent video games and the worldbuilding already laid out for it but holy shit holy shit.

i was convinced i didnt like maximus but no i was just falling for cleverly set up twists and some things were predictable yes but sometimes theyd just do something that felt SO right. and the characterization?? excellent. the tone? incredible and unique.

normally with these split POV shows i get bored of a POV but that didnt really happen. and normally i get frustrated with the political aspects (not because i think its 'too political' or whatever just because i have that good ol fashion autistic strong sense of justice and i want to punch characters) but there was enough nuance and characters that i could relate to on a moral level that i didnt feel as frustrated.

its really interesting because in my polysci 101 class we just learned about the Federalist papers and one of Madison's talks about interest groups in politics (lobbyist groups essentially) and saying that yes groups like these can be detrimental to political liberty but restricting the freedom of all groups would lead to a worse detriment to personal liberty and free speech.

Hank's (fuck u hank) whole deal was getting rid of factions but his ideas were flawed because he created a greater detriment to health and liberty than factions do, he created another faction (dumb bitch)

gore is not really my thing and ill admit this was a hard watch for me (close to Invincible levels imo and i cannot bring myself to watch Invincible again) but it was manageable and felt like it matched the tone

and the tone, ive never seen anything like it, i mean i havent watched like every show in existence but it feels really unique. my favorite aspec t of a lot of sci fi is what i call "confident ridiculousness" which yes can be grating and land badly sometimes but this felt like seasoning on a dish, just enough and not too much. They managed to keep serious and emotional moments while still having those moments where you can feel the comedic exasperation.

and the charactersssss, like i said i usually get bored of a POV but all of these characters were different and interesting.

Maximus most of all because i fell for the idea of him hurting Dane. I always kept that bit of doubt in my mind but as things progressed and Maximus did more desperate things i thought i would hate him by the seasons end. but no, looking back with the knowledge that he didnt hurt Dane everything he did really just seemed like instinct and self preservation not malicious intent. sure you can say he did bad things and hurt people but thats the point of the show. i like him maybe the most out of all the MCs but its a hard choice.

Lucy was great too! as a transmasc guy i sometimes feel dysphoric for relating to a femme character (my bad sorry im fighting my internalized misogyny) but she was so relatable and amazing. sometimes Lucy's (brown haired skinny white woman PC) can be generic and flavorless in terms of character traits but I liked her almost instantly. She is so smart. a lot of characters that start out naive stay very naive and thats seen as like, a strength of character but I personally love that she does change and is still mostly able to defend her values. She makes mistakes due to that naivety but to me at least, remains relatable and smart when she learns from those. she feels like a full character, which you dont see very often in the archetype thats supposed to be your self insert.

And the Ghoul, intensely complicated and interesting. I flipped back and forth so many times on whether i liked or hated him. Again i know thats the point but still! i will admit im a sucker for his type of character but the show still had me gritting my teeth over his actions. he is not a good person, of course, but seeing him grapple with what he used to be is so cool and i really liked his story.

im running out of descriptions but im really impressed with the writing and the acting. the main three actors were all perfect and im hoping for a season two.

okay so people always blame kishimoto's misogyny for her character being badly written and i did thought the same for some time after i finished watching naruto the first time ngl. but after reading the manga and all my opinion just kept changing.

is kishimoto a misogynistic? yeah why lie. did his misogyny influence his writing of her character? most likely yes. is she a bad character just because of that? ehhhh

the thing about sakura is that shes a bad character not just in terms of writing, shes a bad character because shes meant to be like that. i mean even with his misogyny if u look at the way kishimoto wrote other female characters none of them are that disliked as sakura, even if they don't participate in fights or have to be saved. but thats because you dont see other female characters making fun of orphans in their first introduction chapter, or being mean to others unprovoked or keep trying to get together with the guy that clearly keeps rejecting her and has called her annoying (rightfully. before anyone tries to tell me sasuke was in the wrong. he wasnt<3) in multiple occasions in the story from start to finish. like even if u look at other badly characters like hinata (i dont like hinata before someone thinks this is me cheering for her character btw) who's one of the most boring two dimensional character, kishimoto gave her a interesting background to get people's attention. he did the same with tsunade's backstory and all. yet with sakura he didnt even try to give her that. and you cant really say its uninentional when shes supposed to be a main character yet every damn character even the ones that will appear in three eps have a some backstory except her.

so yeah misogyny affected the way kishimoto wrote her like it affected his other female characters but for the most part it just feels like he just wanted her to be like that

You’re hanging out in your boyfriends room while he finishes studying for an upcoming exam

You’re scrolling on Tik Tok when you stumble on a video of a girl trying her best to get her distracted boyfriend’s attention

As you watch you slightly laugh, thinking this is the cutest thing you’ve ever seen

your attention is caught when you hear your boyfriend sneeze,

Looking over you smile to yourself and think you want to try what you just saw on the video, but with your own boyfriend who was indeed distracted right now

At first you’re reluctant to try, because you don’t want to bother him while he studies

But then you remember that Toshi is a big softie for you, so the worst that could happen is he just asks you to leave him alone lol

Putting your phone down you make it over to your boyfriends desk

You shyly stand beside him for a moment before he notices you

Turning around to look towards you, Ushijima gives you a soft smile, “hi love, is everything okay?”

seeing u reblog the critique thing at 12 am while im trying to sleep. furiously opening my laptop. first of all let me just say that i never think its a bad thing when character portrayals change over time. i think thats the natural progression of like. Writing a character consistently. if your character didnt like, change, as ur writing them i think itd be kinda boring! i obviously cant speak for you but i dont think youve lost sight of what u were originally trying to do with volo, and if it helps at all, i can speak from the perspective of someone who was here in the pretty early stages of ur volo blog and then disappeared for like 2 months and came back. ur volo feels as real to me as he ever did, and any changes in your portrayal i think are again, just natural progression. as for the rest of this, i definitely get what you mean and you are right in saying people aren't normally very consistent people, and that volo is a very inconsistent, unpredictable character... i think for me, my fear with it is as i think? i may have talked about it before on here is losing my original 'sight' of what i wanted to do with him, which is understand his character and explain why the way it is, humanizing him while neither woobifying him nor making him some cruel, heartless villain because i don't believe he's either of those things. he is a very tragic person who, despite his tragedy, is not necessarily a good person: he's by no means the worst, but he isn't by any means perfect. what i wanted to do with volo is highlight why the way he is, where this comes from, and... i guess, in an ironic turn of things, understand him and make sense of him as a person afflicted by his tragedy and how this changed him as a person and how it manifests in what he does while putting it out there that despite what depths he may go he is still very much a person, in an odd sort of parallel to how he wants to understand arceus? muns choose the muse and muses speak to the muns, i guess.

either way, a lot of my hemming and hawing comes from my chewing on the idea of 'am i doing too much of this? am i leaning too much this way? is this contradictory to his earlier characterization in a bad way, where he has lost some of his nuance? has this development dampened the portrayal? is he edging into mustache-twirling villain territory, or losing some of his original spark?' things like that.
