Headcanon (with canon events) for Bi-Han not wearing an armor...

even though he has given his approval and praise for its construction.

He cares more about Cyrax and Sektor than he cares about himself.

He would prefer Cyrax and Sektor to continue covering less risky missions and not directly engaging in battles, not because they are women and supposedly weaker, not even close to being in a sexist way (Bi-Han knows how strong they are and admires strong and skilled women like his mother was), but because he fears losing them like he lost his mother…

But Sektor, being stubborn and very good with words, presented the idea of ​​an armor that would increase her physical capacity and protect her from fatal blows. Thus, convincing Bi-Han that she would be out of imminent danger of death on the battlefield, he allowed her to support his efforts on the battlefield as well, with the assistance of her apprentice, Cyrax.

Cyrax's defection wasn't something Bi-Han expected even if she did find out the truth (according to datamined intros):

Then, titan Havik showed up with his minions to capture Geras, which he and Sektor tried to avoid because it would condemn them, the Lin Kuei as well as the entire timeline…

A lot of things happened and a lot of things not teased in the trailers or found in the datamined script will happen (missing scenes, missing lines, Cyrax's ending, Sektor's ending, Noob Saibot's ending…), and despite the "death threat" in one of their datamined dialogues (because either he refuses to swear at her or Sektor convinced him that punishment for deserters should be death instead of prison now), Bi-Han genuinely cared for Cyrax too (not only for Sektor), but her defection disappointed him and hurt him as much as his brother's did.
