Something I've been thinking a lot about lately is how everyone thought Egon had gone insane. What Happened that made them think that. They've fought a gigantic Stay Puft Marshmellow Man TWICE (counting the 2009 video game because iirc it's canon? Correct me if I'm wrong), fought an interdimensional god, fought a blood thirsty ruler that killed thousands and was hated by all that was trapped in a painting (and managed to get in to beat him by making THE STATUE OF LIBERTY start walking down the street with slime that reacted purely based on vibes), found an underground abandoned transit system full of the moodslime, had a bathtub try to eat Dana and her baby, fought a giant murderous black widow lady, fought the fisherman ghost who turned an entire hotel floor into the bottom of a ocean, and that's not even mentioning them getting trapped on an island that randomly raised up from underwater that had been abandoned for decades created by Ivor Shandor who worshipped Gozer. So what did he do or say that made everyone else think he'd gone insane?? All I can think is maybe he was acting strange / eratic before, but he's always been like that to some degree.
I don't know. It's something that I've been thinking about. The correct answer is 'it's not that deep and they needed a reason that the others weren't together anymore and weren't aware of Egons death or know what was going on,' but also. What Was He Saying that prompted everyone, including Ray, to think he lost his mind when he'd been right almost every time before that.
I'm genuinely so curious as to what he was up to before this. What was he doing. What insane idea was working on prior to this or was he even working on anything at all??
Also want to clarify this post isn't negative 😭 I really love the newer movies and their lore / the newer storyline / characters, I just like thinking about small stupid things like this. Gives me something to think about / speculate about / figure out an answer to.

ALRIGHT EPISODE 8 REWATCH LETS GOOOO heres your kajii-exclusive post about it from the perspective of someone who's been madly in love with him for several years, its not gonna be coherent at all so buckle the fuck up :)
firstly i want to say how absolutely blessed we are that kajii's entrance scene gets those shots where you can only see up to the first half of his face, that's the good stuff
also this bit right here has been my wallpaper occasionally, i think its hilarious
also i want yall who have not read the manga to know that despite in the anime (both sub and dub) kajii asks "What color is you blood?", in the manga the question is actually "What color is your death?" which is a much more interesting question than the anime made it.
which. i need this man to elaborate on, because the thought is so fascinating, PLEASE please infodump about it im all ears
BTW I LOVE IT WHEN HIS GOGGLES ARE ILLUMINATED?? WHAT A GUYYY
i could go on a whole rant about how much i love his silhouette scenes where all you see are his goggles and smile but alas thats not for this post, its mostly manga related, but this scene did do it very well
look at his lil surprised face as well, its there for a split second then its gone
NOW THIS. THIS IS QUALITY. many many thoughts about it
pardon me ma'am, lemme get that man who's annoying you off of you and onto me instead- COUGHCOUGH COUHG
he's precious and i love him and his kill count as of this episode is 32
:D
an elaboration on his kill count if anyone's interested: 28 from the Maruzen building bombing, 2-3 (im counting three) civilian deaths on the train, and the conductor, who was killed with a silenced gun (as seen in the manga). now keep in mind this is the countable stuff. he's most DEFINITELY killed more than 32, especially if he's been with the PM for far longer than kyouka. given his methods, i want to guess somewhere in the hundreds but we just don't know
here i'll put the stitched-together scenes i've done of this episode as well
first one was only two frames put together, kinda blended and made more visible, and the other one is just multiple frames stacked

Well, it's been a hell of a couple of weeks, and one of many things that happened is that I ended up coming home from Urgent Care looking rather like fruit being packed up for long distance shipping.
I got pretty scraped up when I fell while hiking nearly a month ago. Then I got significantly better... and then I got a whole lot worse.
If you would like to avoid some truly disgusting and painful wounds, you should know that you are likely to develop an allergy to Neosporin if you use it for multiple weeks (and probably the same goes for other brands of over-the-counter antibiotic ointments, I'm guessing).

uuhhh in other new that lmk s5 trailer dropped and people are very
mixed
for context the new season is being partly animated by wildbrain i think. flying bark is still working on the show but probably due to all the other projects they've been working on like the atla movie the animation is off.
its understandable that people are upset. lmk has some of the most consistently dynamic and lively animation ive ever seen, and going from that to ok animation kinda sucks. as a culmination of a lot of what the series has been building up to people were inevitably going to be disappointed
at the same time people shouldnt harass animators. like ever. no amount of trying to petition or anything will change the s5, people are just trying to do their job and theres no probably no major changing to the finished product by now. and theres still a lot of that lmk charm in there, and we haven't even seen the whole season yet to judge it. flying bark is still working on it, and even if the animation never reaches the peak of the old seasons it still has the same writers so at least the writing has the chance to live up old standards. idk though we'll just have to wait and see

I find it interesting actually that Mason is the only Coven Head present at the convention episode in season 1 (I assume he is already a Coven Head because he is on the banner in a later episode).
He seems quite stoic and unbothered by being tossed around too. So this might point towards some characterization - maybe he actually cares enough to show up unlike the others, and he isn't a type to throw a fit over a member of the public bothering him and thus might be less drunk on the power.
[my personal headcanon is that he cares about the members of his coven and has teaching tendencies, but isn't very sharp when it comes to the politics, and he had never expected to get raised that high, so he doesn't question the decisions around him and finds his new role disorienting]

More Doctor Who confusion I guess
There's a lot in the last few episodes of Doctor Who that I don't really get?
The dust? Everyone gets dusted in 2024. They go to 2046 everyone is STILL dusted but now there's DNA data. How did they gather the DNA if everyone was killed in 2024??? Did Sutek dust everyone simultaneously?? Like all throughout time?? What???
The time window? We are told it's rudimentary and they "only saw the colour of the quill that signed the declaration of independence" but it's monochrome? You didn't see the colour of it?? Also it's all holograms and yet they treat it as if it's real? Why do they have guns?? Why is everyone afraid?
The snow? Why does Ruby have this power? I know we've established that her mum is some Eldrich being through the power of believing in her or some shit but why can Ruby do that? Also can every foster kid do that? If so that's really funny.
Suteks death? Why did dragging him around behind the TARDIS and smashing him into space potholes like some mafia hit kill him when literally sending him through time to the moment of his death didn't work?
Idk if these are pointless questions but the writing recently has just been overall baffling to me. Out of this whole season, I think the only episode I genuinely enjoyed was Rogue because it was just taking the piss out of Bridgerton the style of that big brother episode back in 2004. It was fun and understood the assignment of a silly villain that still posed a threat.
I know the vibe in the fandom is always "the worst Dr who writer is the current Dr who writer" but I haven't really enjoyed this season as much as I thought I would when they announced Russel was coming back.
Rewatching Bad Wolf is just a slap in the face after this like what happened??
Sorry for the rambles but idk I just have a lot of thoughts about this season but the fandom seems to be in the "look at all the references to old who" phase

nick miller character of all time. wrote a terrible zombie novel with an unsolvable crossword in the middle. fist-pumps to cotton-eyed joe as involuntary muscle memory. kisses like he’s going off to war in the morning. sighs like he’s the president of the united states. airs all his problems out with an old man he met in a park who barely talks and wears nondescript baseball caps. his back gets slicker than a slip-n-slide when he has to keep a secret and he never learned how to love.
