get in bitches, we're surviving rock bottom no matter how much further we dig. one day we'll put down the shovel and climb out of this for good. we have to. as long as we're still alive there is hope.

i hope it hurts a little less. day by day. week by week. i hope the ache in your chest eases. maybe it won't entirely, maybe it will. may the thought of feeling joy again alone be enough to keep you going, even if for a while.

Reminder
Your pain (physical/mental/emotional) is valid even if nobody can see it
Your pain is valid even if you have no physical symptoms
Your pain is valid even if there is no physical injury
Your pain is valid even if others tell you it's not
Your pain is valid even if you do not have a life threatening disease
Your pain is valid even if you don't have a diagnosis
Your pain is valid even if you do have a diagnosis
Your pain is still valid even if nobody believes you
Your pain is still valid even if you are too "young" for the problem/issue
Your pain is valid even if the health care advisor/anybody tells you that it's in your head
Your pain is valid no matter what the conditions are
Your pain is valid.
Pain does not discriminate between age, gender, race, nationality etc. Just because you can't see pain, doesn't mean it's not there.

it takes courage to be kind. it takes effort to be kind. no, it does not cost $0 to be kind. Kindness is a choice. Sometimes, a hard one. But people still make it and that's what keeps the world going.

Does anyone with an anxiety disorder or paranoid symptoms happen to be impacted by the way the internet promotes taking pictures/videos of people without permission?
Like, does this make anyone more nervous in public places in a way that wouldn’t happen without this aspect of online spaces?

Not forgiving someone who has deeply hurt you is okay. You can’t force yourself to forgive and forget all those traumatic events that were caused by others, whether last year or twelve to thirty years ago. You can’t put a number on your feelings and your memories.

AIGHT CHAT WE'RE GONNA GO IN A CIRCLE AND SAY 3 THINGS WE LOVE ABOUT OURSELVES MEOW
I'll go first :3
1) My hair. It's a dark brown most of the time but there are little flecks of red that shine in the sun :3
2) My eyes. Most of the time they're a brown-black color, but in the sun they turn a very nice and pretty amber ^w^
3) My thighs. I know most people hate having large thighs but I honestly love them. I can stim on them, I can use them to warm up my hands, and they make it easier to trap my partners in snuggles >:3
Have a nice day and stay safe out there <3

Personal hygiene tips for depressed folks
Things I did when I was depressed that didn’t take as much effort and were realistic.
A bath is better than nothing.
Sitting in the shower is okay.
Hair, hands, underarms, and genitals are a must. It’s okay to skip everywhere else for a bit, but those parts need to be maintained.
Keep razors out of washroom if it’s a trigger.
Purell!!! Hand sanitizer!!! Killing germs is the only must.
If hair care is out of the question, get a short haircut.
On the topic of hair, dry shampoo.
Keep a brush next to your bed. Try at least once every few days. Putting it off will become a real problem.
Don’t use disinfectant/antibacterial wipes anywhere. Clorox, Lysol, HDX, Scentiva, anything generic. NO! Baby wipes, sensitive skin, skin friendly is the only thing.
Use antibiotic ointment (Neosporin for example) for even minor cuts. Infection is real and can happen, especially if you aren’t frequently cleaning. Then, ofc, cover with bandages.
Take vitamins and leave them by your bedside. Extra points for the gummy kind so it’s at least some kind of food.
To those who get periods, I’m sorry, but you have to get up to change menstrual products every few hours. Infections can happen. Big/overnight pads can give some extra time.
Get those crumbs out of your bed unless you like waking up with bugs.
Take out any food after a day or two. Mold isn’t fun.
Underwear needs to be changed every day. Everything else can go a few days, unless you’re sweating a lot or any non-water fluids get on it.
Automatic air fresheners and candles.
Glasses rather than contacts.
Seal any food or drinks when not consuming.
Spend a few minutes to move around in bed. Look up exercises to do lying down and or in bed. There’s a lot! Avoid bed sores and keep that blood flowing. Just a minute or two is all you need.
Flossing.
Stay clean. I know it’s hard to. Use that little bit of energy to maintain hygiene as neglecting that can and will lead to bigger problems.

I'd rather be "too much" than nothing at all.
I'd rather feel "too much" than lose what makes me human.
I'd rather do "too much" than see you doubt whether I love you at all or not.
I'd rather show my humanity than hide it away.

if you're a recovering addict, i want you to know you're doing good.
you didn't use today? you're doing good. you used recently and you're still recovering? you're doing good. you sought support today? you're doing good. you practiced harm reduction? you're doing good. you want to relapse and haven't? you're doing good. you're getting involved, even if others are doing more? you're doing good. you're resting today? you're doing good. you're alive? you're doing good.
this shit takes time. you have spent a considerable amount of time doing harmful things to yourself, or others. you're not going to change overnight. all you can reasonably do is get through the day, adding as much good to your life/the lives of others as you can. it doesn't matter what happened yesterday, or what's going to happen tomorrow.
all you have is this moment, and if you're on the path of recovery... you're doing good. this is your story. not someone else's. not some idealized version of yourself. it's yours, just as you exist, right now. that's all you have, and all you need.
keep going. you got this. i'm glad you're here (and so is everyone else who interacted with this post).
