Here's a lovely 1869 Victorian (look at that turret) in Boiling Springs, PA. It's currently a 6bd, 5ba 3,663 sq ft residence, but it was once a B&B. Just reduced $26k to $389k, the 2 caveats are that the owner wants cash and they've made some "improvements" over the years, so it does need some work.

Walking straight into the open hall/sitting room, there's a mural of the street out front. We don't know what's under the carpeting, but it's got to come up.

It's a very open concept Victorian, which is unusual. I would say that the original fireplace did not have that heavy stone facade.

Plastic panels were added to the ceiling.

In the dining room they put another stone facade on the fireplace, unless it's fake, b/c i don't see a chimney.

I wish that they would've kept the kitchen simpler. All the stuff detracts from the brick walls and the wood stove. Double doors open to a porch.

The den has nice shelving and a ladder. Looks like the electric fireplace was installed sometime around the 70s.

Then, they've got a home office here, which must've also served when it was a B&B.

Bath off the office, and a laundry room. MCM sink.

Bedroom with mirrored closet doors.

Here's another bath with a step-up sunken tub. It's disturbing to see a Victorian that looks like a 70s home.

The primary bedroom was paneled, has a stick-on ceiling, and a wall of built-in shelving and cabinetry. It even has a fold-down table.

This bedroom has its own en-suite.

This bedroom is large, but very maximalist.

In this room they've added spiral stairs going up to a finished attic.

They made a 1 bd apt. up here.

The 6,970 sq ft lot has some nice gardens and a covered patio.

It's a lovely location and a beautiful town, but I feel that the house needs work and all the holes in the walls will be right thru the wallpaper. The carpets have to come up and even if the floors are good underneath, it's a lot of work.

I LOVE MINISKIRTS!! they’re literally so cute and so stylish and that literally what im all about my main favorites are denim ones,frilly ones,pleated ones and super tiny pencil ones they’re seriously adorable but my main favorite ones it a JELLYFISH SKIRTS Jellyfish skirts are so beautiful and not only do i love jelly fish but i also like skirts so it’s literally perfect and it flowy so it’s not too hot it perfect!!

the fellowship and housekeeping/home decor:

frodo: not his work but still a cozy place. well decorated and tasteful, if not a bit maximalist. bilbo did almost all of the leg work for bagend to look as great as it does and frodo barely keeps up with chores. sunday is laundry day and he washes dishes half well but that’s about it.

sam: what a pleasant place to be. always has a cup of tea ready and slippers by the door. well maintained household, has a self-prescribed chore chart and weekly deep cleaning tasks. always has the guest bedroom made up and loves changing sheets.

pippin: hell hole. adhd clutter. it’s a miracle he functions half as well as he does. hired help comes every other day but you wouldn’t know it by the way things are. has four separate mold colonies in various spots of his bedroom. somehow lost his bedframe and sleeps with his mattress on the floor.

merry: well thought out design to minimize chores. you don’t need to sweep the floors if the whole house is carpeted. doesn’t need to change his bedding if he sleeps on top of the sheets, avoids dusting top shelves by having low to ground storage, etc. tried throwing out all his silverware to avoid dishes. sam regifted him the same set he threw out for his birthday. weird house but very functional.

gandalf: he has no house to keep or decorate. he does, however, keep and decorate others houses. he is my wildest dream and worst nightmare, will not help with dishes but takes to dusting the stairs for whatever reason. no, it is not something anyone asked him to do nor was it needed. leaves little presents around the house for you to find. i did not want a thimble full of sand, but thank you anyways.

aragorn: house husband. will not let his wife do dishes, sweep, take out the trash, or any chores if he can help it. acts of service are this man’s MO and he loves taking care of his wife and even if it’s by wrestling a dirty plate out of her hands. (arwen provides aragorn with a to-do list as well as explicit instructions on how to do them. she also writes the grocery list). arwen also decorated the house and it’s very classy yet cozy. tasteful grandma vibes.

boromir: hand carved mahogany furniture. beautiful cross stitch of his family, small wooden statues and trinkets. very lovely and hand crafted home that he takes care of to the best of his ability. it’s a bit stuffy and smells like pine, but is generally well maintained. his workshop, though, is spotless.

legolas: there’s a small tree growing out of his toilet and plant clippings in the sink. the bath is filled with dirt and rocks and there’s a small wild garden filling out his bathroom. it’s like a self maintained ecosystem and is almost impressive. dishes are everywhere and clothes artfully draped across the floor and every surface.

gimli: don’t ask to see his rock collection. it takes up the whole living room and is alphabetized. it is the focal point and he will stand in front of the shelves until you mention it. will give you a guided tour of his rocks. maintains it actively as well as the rest of his household. very conscious of dust and dirt, sweeps regularly. he needs to.

gollum: burn it. cave creature gremlin who fears the sun does not keep a pleasant abode. my hackles are raised and my feet slimed; this place is unknown grease and fish bones incarnate. i do not enter this place willingly and leave a changed soul. dank, damp and distasteful. there’s a pile of something in the corner that he either sleeps in or hides fish guts for later in. maybe both.

❧ Halloween is his fav holiday for no reason it's because it's the best excuse to get free candy in ridiculous amounts ❧ Would constantly be in top 3s for Halloween costumes, he goes nuts ❧ His home will also be heavily decorated full of trinkets for Halloween, as if his home wasn't already a maximalist paradise

❧ He's big into aromatherapy and incense, and makes his own incense sticks based on medicinal properties (ex: lavender and calming properties), but also some would be based on the very few positive memories of his childhood. ❧ In modern AUs he's a Bath and Body Works candle slut, like holy fuck do NOT let this man enter the store he still has 52 3-wicks to burn through!!!

Avatar/Sokkla headcannon - Azula is a neat princess that believes in self care and good treatment. And so is her boyfriend. Heck, Sokka is even more of a princess than Azula. He always was a maximalist that wanted to buy lots of clothes,care products and purse- sorry, I meant, manly bags, and now he's finally able to do it because Azula is basically sugarmama-ing him.

She's rich. Royalty type of rich. She never had a spending limit. She doesn't even fully grasp the point and concept of a spending limit. Which means she's not hesitant at all about handing over her credit card/royal seal and letting Sokka run wild on his shopping sprees.

In the bathroom, Azula has a shampoo, a shower gel, a conditioner, a shower gel for the cleaning on private areas, a protective cream for the skin, a protective cream for the hair, a shower gel for the facial skill and foam for her light curls. Sokka has three times the amount of products.

He has a shampoo for dry skin, a shampoo for oily skin, a shampoo for washing the roots, a shampoo for washing the ends, a shampoo for discoloration of the hair, a shampoo for preventing slip ends, a shampoo that brings out the natural glow of the hair, two types of conditioner, a protective cream for the hair, a protective cream for the hair that specializes in protection from sun damage, a foam for his one single curly hair.

• definitely a maximalist. no one knows how she dusts

• can ride a unicycle and is stupid fast on both skates and rollerblades. however she can’t ice skate

• skipped 2 grades going into high school

• ^^ heavily isolated from her peers growing up, has a tendency to be a self-fulfilling prophecy with relationships going wrong

• laughing/rambling is her default to all uncomfortable emotions (this one is basically canon i think)

• loves overly sour and sweet things. nothing is too sour nor too sweet

• genuinely loves snacking on shit like carolina reapers

• keeps gets stung by jellyfish every single time she goes to the beach without fail

• eats all fruit with the skin/rind

• ^ thinks the skin of the apple is the best part (green r her fave)

• collects driftwood

• no sense of self preservation. where did it go

Holy SHIT! Speaking of "you never know what's going on inside a house," here's the home of avid maximalist collectors. You can't see the interior b/c of all their stuff, but it has a pending sale. It's a nice looking 1968 Mid-century modern tri-level in Ada, OH. 5bds, 4ba, 2,692 sq ft, $355k.

The dining room is ready for Halloween, unless it always looks like this. You know, I live alone, maybe I should get a skeleton to sit at the table, for company.

There's a lot going on in the kitchen. But, as you can see it's very large.

They tried to update the dated cabinets by painting them 2-tone, but the hardware and design are a dead giveaway. I wonder if the bright red tool cabinet conveys.

So, this is a bedroom. I guess it's pretty big, by the looks of all the furniture in here.

I wouldn't even consider buying a house like this, even though it's big and cheap- you can't see if there are any problems. The carpets are so dirty. They never clean around this stuff.
