tomorrow is my first day back to work and I'm a lil nervous

I haven't been able to get anything written for here bc I've been trying to get a couple other things written (updating my Bill Cipher redemption fic and starting a Gyutaro x reader x Daki because I make poor life choices)

but I'm on light duty for a month, basically just sitting at the register checking people out, unable to do any stocking or anything bc I'm not allowed to lift anything over 15 pounds so I can't lift totes, bend much, or reach much, so I'm allowed to bring something to do in between customers... maybe I'll get some writing done? I feel as if I'll be slacking off bc that's how my brain works

but you know what, I kill myself for that store normally, I don't work full time simply because I can't afford medical insurance if I did, but even working only part time I give my all while I'm there, I'm not someone who slacks off. so if I'm healthfully and approvedly permitted to slack off and take it easy for a month, I guess I'll take it (... plus, I mean, I'll still be working, just light duty, it's not like I'll show up and get paid to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, I'm still gonna be ringing out customers)

ANYWAY MY POINT IS-

get those last requests in! after I get home from work tomorrow, I'll be closing the askbox and won't open it back up till this batch is finished and I swear I mean that this time 😂

since ive been in such a jon jarchivist mood lately but can’t do anything about it since the fic rivers aren’t flowing and the podcast is illegal, i finally dug out my ace jon fanart quilt to work on, and got all set up to make a few blocks before i crashed. and it turns out. that either my machine is stupid. or i am. and have forgotten completely how to sew by machine. because the top thread keeps getting knotted up in the bobbin casing and gunking up the whole machine and ripping holes in my fabric. and the top thread also keeps popping off the bits it’s supposed to run through. and i wasted what felt like a hundred yards of thread because of the thread vomit and restarted sewing a 2.5 inch block five times before i just. had to rage quit and walk away. so uh. i might be making another. fucking. quilt. by hand now.

#the things i do. for blorbo.#tbh i just need to get my old machine out…….was trying to use this cheaper machine i bought second hand (but unused)#and i just don’t think it has what it takes. or again i just have utterly forgotten how to work a sewing machine #which is possible. ive never actually LIKED machine sewing it’s just the quickest way to do it and easiest on my hands #so it may be my brain just ejected everything #but like. fuck man. you’d think being able to sew some straight lines should not produce so much thread barf. idk. im angry and need sleep #aster chat #sewing tag

Man we hit a good dosage for angus's meds and hes like. Acting like his old self right now. Def with the energy down like 90% but hes exploring my room and playing with toys and his back legs are holding his weight and it's so nice to see again

#unfortunately it wont last forever #but im kinda ignoring the vet rn #she set his dose to 2.5 mls but due to a mix up with the pharmacy im only giving him 1.5 rn #but it seems to be really working #and id rather hold him here so i can go up again when he starts declining again #palliative care man. his meds & vet visits r so expensive rn but. worth it to see his old self coming back a bit #even though i know it's temporary #the slowburning grief of take care of a pet with a terminal diagnosis can be interspersed with bright moments #so im just dwelling in that for now #also rip i gave up half my floorspace in my room for ango bc of the fucking ANTS that invaded his space downstairs. infuriating #tho tbh i like him up here and he does better up here so i might just keep this lmao #anyways. boy cute i love him <3 #baby: angus #the heavy stuff is mostly in the tags but ik some people r sensitive to this topic?#idk what the tags ppl use for it are tho so if u see this and want me to tag stuff about angus's health just lmk what to use #i dont anticipate posting about it very often but u never know
