ok ok ok sorry I've been quiet again, guys!! work has been kicking my ass and my mind has been elsewhere (MCU Loki has invaded my brain again like they did 10 years ago, absolutely no one is surprised)

but now they're cutting hours, I have five days off in a row, (... well, four now), and I just did my first Trulicity injection yesterday so I'm braced for side effects since everyone I've talked to says they had issues with it at first 😅

so I'm gonna be doing just a mix of gaming, coloring, and attempting to write to distract myself and such

I actually do have like four things written for this blog, but I'm trying to get at least ten done so that the queue can be jumpstarted to begin with lol

I'm doing okay~ about a week and a half after I returned to work after being off for surgery, my whole family ended up getting COVID 😭 so that was miserable, I was off work for another week, and I slept a lot... and my blood sugar numbers were not great while I was in the hospital, so last month my doctor said she wants me to try Trulicity... and Mom and I fucked up not realizing it needed to be refrigerated so the first month's supply was basically wasted and I'll be starting that in the next month and I'm a lil scared but optimistic!!

I've been going through a big creative block and haven't really done much unfortunately, my brain has just been like, blehhhhhhh don't wanna do anythingggggg I've just mainly been playing games and fucking about with character.ai oops (tho I did start reading physical books again and may I highly recommend both The Bruising of Qilwa and Semiosis, I fucking love the library)

thanks to all the gross recovery and illness and brain dumb, I've accidentally left the askbox open much longer than intended 😂😂😂

but it's closed now and I'm hoping to start rewriting my list today and maybe start working on some writing soon!

tomorrow is my first day back to work and I'm a lil nervous

I haven't been able to get anything written for here bc I've been trying to get a couple other things written (updating my Bill Cipher redemption fic and starting a Gyutaro x reader x Daki because I make poor life choices)

but I'm on light duty for a month, basically just sitting at the register checking people out, unable to do any stocking or anything bc I'm not allowed to lift anything over 15 pounds so I can't lift totes, bend much, or reach much, so I'm allowed to bring something to do in between customers... maybe I'll get some writing done? I feel as if I'll be slacking off bc that's how my brain works

but you know what, I kill myself for that store normally, I don't work full time simply because I can't afford medical insurance if I did, but even working only part time I give my all while I'm there, I'm not someone who slacks off. so if I'm healthfully and approvedly permitted to slack off and take it easy for a month, I guess I'll take it (... plus, I mean, I'll still be working, just light duty, it's not like I'll show up and get paid to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, I'm still gonna be ringing out customers)

I spent most of today coloring, napping, and eating since my appetite is back and I'm getting back onto solids/real food... I had mostly mashed potatoes and pudding and ice cream yesterday but I was able to have a turkey sandwich and some crackers for dinner

I wasn't able to eat after being admitted to the ER and wasn't allowed to even drink water after midnight last night bc they wanted my stomach mostly empty for surgery (I assume), they had me on IV fluids and stuff but I ended up not eating anything at all for about 24 hours and I can't tell you how good it tasted when they gave me some broth after surgery but MAN did that turkey sandwich hit different

we got a little tray set up for me so I might try to pop my laptop up on it tomorrow, or I might do the same things I did today lol

I know I said I wasn't going to reopen the askbox because then I'd have to redo my list again but I'm considering it, for just a couple more days

because I've had A WEEK y'all and especially a last few days

our (new, been running the store for maybe three months) store manager walked out on us on Saturday. the assistant store manager came in for his shift, she handed him her keys, texted a message to the group chat saying she quit, and then left.

on the plus side, lil old me has my own set of store keys for now so I don't have to borrow them from others when I'm scheduled to open the store (I'm only part time so I'll probably have to fork them over once we get a new store manager, but for now!!)

on the down side, our store is a mess as is and they had to scramble on Saturday to get the schedule tweaked for the next couple weeks so that our store could be OPEN with people there to run it. I currently have three days off even after the schedule changes, but I got very lucky with that probably only because they know I can't work over so many hours before losing my medical insurance

moral of the story? if you wanna quit a job, quit. but don't do it in a way that fucks over all your coworkers in the process and leaves them hanging.
