Introducing Nikolai to Red Kola is the highlight of John's day, and his role is only as a spectator.

Nikolai only nods along to Soap's insistence, looking far too amused for a man who's unofficially being held hostage until he tries the damn drink that the Scotsman is going on about.

"Mate, he isn't gonna like it. It's shit. Face it, it's not good enough to warrant you going on about it."

"I'll skelp you oor the back of the head if ye don't shut it while I'm talking tae Nik."

Simon glances back at him, and he shakes his head. Let the sergeants argue in peace so long s they don't get dragged into their nonsense.

"What does it taste like?" Nik asks, far too polite for a situation that was ultimately a waste of time.

"Rid."

"You can't just say red."

"Shut it, Kyle. It tastes like the colour rid."

As a last act of mercy to them all, Nikolai just grabs the bottle and opens it. Perhaps freeing them from such meaningless death. John ponders if this is that dramatic streak that Mac went on about constantly.

The very second Soap realises that Nikolai is trying the drink laid out in front of him, blue eyes are glued to the Russian like he's a bear and Soap's a photographer aiming to get his photo in National Geographic.

There's far too much suspense as they wait on Nikolai's reaction and to be frank, he looks fucking ridiculous holding a 330ml bottle of Currie's Red Kola in such large hands. Hands that could've been on John's cock if it weren't for this stupid taste testing.

Eventually, Nikolai sits the bottle down on the table. The look on his face implies that he's blatantly dragging the experience out to up the tension. Only after a moment of enthralling silence does he speak.

"It does taste like the colour red, he has a point. It's not bad."

Through the Scottish cackling and Kyle's groan of protest, his eyes meet Nikolai's, and the pilot doesn't even try to play subtle as he pockets the bottle. Given Simon's snort, he's not the only one who noticed.
