this is just my dyke opinion but it's kind of crazy how abysmally bad of a job did bbc merlin do at portraying people (men) being in love with guinevere. like ok first of all arthur and guinevere look and act like theyre playing themselves in a school play in front of multiple parents but if it was just that id be like. well ok failmarriage rights. but then guinevere treats lancelot like an annoying classmate she needs to friendzone bc he's wasting her time. and even LANCELOT, the titular homewrecker HIMSELF does more tormented pining and ultimately sacrifices himself for MERLIN than for THEE queen quinevere that had him shaking crying throwing up when she looked at him in the og texts.
