GLOW UP GUIDE FOR 2025⠀
READ: On average, it takes more than 2 months before a new behavior becomes automatic — 66 days to be exact. And considering that 2025 is precisely these many days away, why not start with our glow up plan already?
Physical Glow Up-
BODY
— 5-10K steps a day.
— 7-8 hours of sleep.
— workout everyday for 1 hr atleast- yoga/stretching/pilates/cardio. a workout may take one hour, but your mood will be boosted for the next 12 hours.
— posture training.
— sunlight exposure after waking up for at least 10 minutes.
NUTRITION
— 2-3 liters of water every day.
— limit your caffeine intake.
— avoid sugars as much as you can.
— high protein diet, pre and probiotics.
— more fruits and veggies (+ green smoothies if you like).
— no junk/processed food/trans fat.
— no eating after 8 pm.
SKINCARE
— be clear on your skin type (oily, dry, combination, sensitive).
— once you're clear, use these accordingly- cleanser, toner, targeted serum, eye cream, moisturizer, sunscreen (≥50 spf).
— keep your bedding clean as well.
— no picking of skin on your lips, cuticle etc.
— gua sha to help improve blood circulation and lessen toxins.
— cold therapy may take three to five minutes of being uncomfortable, but your energy levels will be boosted for the rest of the day.
— remove makeup before you go to bed.
BODY CARE
— shower every day.
— exfoliate 2x a week.
— use body lotion (shea butter/aloe vera gel/coconut oil).
HAIR CARE
— wash hair 2-3x a week
— oil your scalp 2x a week, at least 3 hours before shampoo.
— hair mask 1x per week.
— never brush wet hair.
— use silk pillow case.
HYGIENE
— brush your teeth 2x a day, clean tongue and the roof of the mouth daily.
— floss daily.
— cut your nails 1x a week, never remove the cuticles.
— glycolic acid under arm for odor and discoloration.
— never use soap on your coochie.
Mental Glow Up-
MINDSET
— set clear goals- define and breakdown your aspirations.
— start your mornings with positive affirmations.
— surround yourself with uplifting content and people.
— be shamelessly selfish to your career and mental health, remove anyone or anything that doesn't align with your priorities and wellbeing.
— boost your brain health by these 4 neuroscience tools:
difficult first: start your day with the most difficult task (cortisol and dopamine are high in the body meaning that your body/mind is primed to work).
rest your eyes: introduce a micro-pause after learning by resting/closing your eyes - will help retain information better.
tomorrow's worries: write tomorrow's to-do list before bed as it is proven to be effective in helping you fall asleep.
find time to play: engage in low-stake play. can be anything you find fun but where the outcome doesn't matter (induces neuroplasticity + reduces stress).
MIND
— meditation might take as low as ten minutes, but your focus will be improved for the rest of the day.
— no social media after waking up and at least an hour before bed.
— keep aside 1 hr of time to read daily! reading a new book may take five hours, but you will keep the knowledge forever.
— journaling, gratitude.
— digital detox once a week or for 12 hours.
— limit unnecessary screentime, unfollow or cut off people you don't want to see.
JOURNALING
— choose a regular time each day to journal, making it a part of your routine.
— find a quiet, comfortable place free from distractions. light a candle if you want.
— allow your thoughts to flow without censoring or editing.
— write about your feelings and emotions to understand them better. write about things you are thankful for to boost your mood. write about your short-term and long-term goals. identify what triggers certain emotions or reactions
— set a timer for 5-10 minutes and write continuously during that time.
— reflect on both positive experiences and challenges.
— make lists, journal your thoughts on these questions.
— journal at night to clear your mind before bedtime, because emotions and thoughts lose their power once we acknowledge them.
— a gratitude practice may take five minutes, but your mindset will be shifted for the rest of the day.
AFFIRMATIONS
— customise affirmations to your needs.
Personal Life-
WEEKLY TASKS
— initiate small changes: begin with small, manageable tasks such as making your bed or cleaning your room every sunday.

DAILY WORK

— track your progress.

— embrace the power of lists: keep a list of tasks to be done and their deadlines. this way, you start each day with a clear plan. to make it visually appealing and motivating, consider using productivity apps like evernote, habit tracker, or notion.
PRODUCTIVITY TIPS
— wake up early.
— plan ahead everything, do scheduling. you can use:
google calendar / notion / tasks .
— if the task takes less than 2 minutes to finish, do it immediately.
— countdown rule, if you are procrastinating, count 1-2-3-4-5 and jump.
— start slow, don't rush and try to do everything at one time.
— follow a proper routine, use app locks based on screentime.
— pomodoro technique, 25 min work, and 5 min break.
— schedule longer break times as well e.g 30 min nap.

Labor, on its own, has no inherent value. The willingness or ability to labor does not translate to virtue. It can confer financial value, since everyone should be compensated for their labor, but it absolutely does not have inherent moral value.
Disabled people are not obligated to perform for you. They are not required, morally, to break themselves in order to earn some sort of personal value and prove their "worth" to society. They do not need to exhaust every possible means of survival to warrant aid, or spend the entirety of their existence pursuing the same amount of production as others even though it takes everything they have and leaves no room for anything else. They are not obligated to push their limits.
If that pisses you off because YOU have to work to the limit, or beyond, your problem is that you are not being paid enough or you are being asked to do the work of more than one person. Not that disabled people get help for "nothing".
You deserve better, too, you lovable dingus! Every single thing that benefits disabled people will benefit you and the ones you love, either immediately, or eventually. All of it!

Hobbies are a great way to practice self-care, and to have as a stress reliever. As uni students, we often find ourselves stressed out about our academic responsibilities, projects deadlines, and even financial concerns. We need some way to let out those stresses, and hobbies are one way to do it. You don't have to be good at them, you just have to enjoy doing them!

First Impressions 🎀
I've had 4 of my 5 classes so far (one doesn't start til october) and I definitely have some thoughts on them, so I thought I'd share my first impressions!
Principals of Accounting II:
the professor seems a bit disorganized, nervous, and semi chaotic but I like his energy
so many people in southern attire, I was a bit surprised
might take a decent amount of study time and energy to keep my grade up in the class, but I'm always up for a challenge and I definitely know I'm capable
gotta figure out a time efficient study routine for this class
Learning (Psychology)
professor has an accent, no idea where he's from, but it's a cool and thankfully understandable accent
feels very content heavy. I definitely want to buy the textbook for this class
need to find a way to stay awake, that's one of the classrooms that make me sleepy
that professor likes to talk for sure (1 hour and 15 min of just the syllabus? man's can talk)
Integrated Survey of Organic and Bio Chemistry
the professor is definitely a science guy, him being the professor makes perfect sense
i really like how he explains and teaches
appreciate that all the content needed is already posted to our class online and all the slides are available already
I love science based classes because I know how to succeed in them and this one seems no different
I have a friend in the class so that's nice!
Intro To Business (Online)
lots of content
lots to do
I gotta make sure I time manage for this class cause otherwise, I'm gonna fall behind
an introduction video?? why not just a discussion post?? ahhhhh
Overall, with working full time, this is going to be an incredibly stressful, incredibly busy semester, but I'm so up for the challenge, and I know I can do it. I just gotta study efficiently, time manage properly, and keep disciplined. I WILL be successful.

that thought isn't helpful right now
now is not the time to think about it. i can think about it later
this is irrational. i'm going to let it go
i won't argue with an irrational thought
this is not an emergency. i can slow down and think clearly about what i need
this feels threatening and urgent, but it really isn't
i don't have to be perfect to be ok

i have to take risks in order to be free. i'm willing to take this risk.

Updated Workouts 🎀
I have been out of the gym for so long. My schedule last semester did not allow it, but when I leave to Colorado in June, I'll be staying somewhere that has its own little gym, and next semester I'll have more access to the university gym as well. I've been doing at home workouts lately! Here's how I structure my workouts throughout the week, and some extra info about my current fitness!

So, as you can see, I currently follow YouTube pilates workouts. I will make a list of my favorite workout youtbers on my main blog soon! I prefer low impact workouts at the moment but will switch it up a bit once I am in Colorado.
💕 Some extra stuff for my fitness:
I try to walk 5k to 10k steps a day, whether that be going outside or doing a walking workout in my bedroom
I do all of my workouts in the morning almost right after i get up in the morning. It eliminates obstacles and helps me do something active during the day
I am going to add more stretching into my routine, especially for my legs. I have pretty stiff muscles, and as someone who'd love to be able to do the spilts, I need to start stretching.
I have a foam roller, but it isn't one of the ones with the bumps on it that really helps the muscles, and I'm going to buy one as soon as possible.
I also am going to start using my massage gun on my legs because I've been so sore and again, stiff, and I think it'll be so useful to just use it on my legs at night. It might even help me sleep better.
Sleep!! I have been sleeping 6 to 8 hours a night consistently, and it's so nice. I feel like I can function so much better, and on the days I get closer to 7 hours of sleep, I feel so good when I wake up and can really get to my morning workouts.
I've switched up my diet a bit and eat healthier (in a sustainable way), and it's also helped me with my fitness too! it really makes a difference with what you put in your body! Food is fuel and food is great!
Always open to fitness and health related questions! Please don't forget I am 3 years into my nutrition and dietetics degree, as well as minoring in psyc and exercise science (also have a 2nd major in finance, but that's irrelevant to health). I also research health and fitness topics for fun. I'm not saying I'm the most credible whatsoever, but I do have some idea of what I'm talking about and am always open to questions or even advice you could give me!

Re-Introduction 🎀
Hello!!! With the start of the school year coming soon for me, I decided I'd reintroduce myself, as this is my main blog and I typically use it as a studyblr-type of blog because it helps keep me going towards my goals! Of course i still post about my physical health, mental health, and daily life, but when college/university is in session, my life typically revolves around school!
🎀 A Little About Me 🎀

I am 21 years old, she/her
I am entering my 4th year of college/uni BUT I recently added a 2nd major so I don't graduate for another year/year and a half ish
I am majoring in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, 2nd major in Finance, and a double minor in Psychology and Exercise Science
I love learning so so so much, as you can tell
I study languages in my free time
^ Currently rotating between (Mexican) Spanish, Japanese, and Korean
I love all things health, fitness, and wellness
I love to work out! My favorite ways to work out right now are weight lifting, walking, mat pilates, and yoga! My university offers workout classes for free to full time students so I'll be taking yoga/pilates classes at my campus!
I do work a full-time, on-campus food service job. 40 hours of work a week, and 15 college credit hours this semester 😅
I love to read, write, listen to music, and want to pick up more hobbies such as sewing, dance, crochet, drawing, painting, etc
This account started out as a "wonyoungism" account and slowly turned into my own little safe space where I am free to be myself without fear of judgment. Of course my aesethic is still pink and wonyoungism ish but I do fully plan on turning this into a more studyblr type of account using my own photos once university starts back up! So stay tuned for that little transition!

10 steps to self-love according to louise hay
these principles were shared by the author louise hay in her audiobook "how to love yourself" which you can find on youtube and i recommend listening to it. they are very useful and they really work if we are committed to put them into practice, so that's why i share them with you
abandon criticism
stop criticizing yourself now and forever. you've been criticizing yourself for years, so i invited you to try another tactic. it was eye-opening for me, when i discovered that i could make changes that would support me in loving myself. everything is a process. remember everyone changes. choose nurturing thoughts.
2. don't frighten yourself
stop scaring yourself with frightening thoughts. i have observed that people create overwhelming circumstances out of a small situation. the mind is such a good movie director that it creates horror movies. forgetting the divine power.
3. be nice, kind and patient with yourself
a good example of the power of patience is when you cultivate a garden. at first, you find barren soil. then you turn it over, sow, and even though it looks like nothing is happening, great things are happening, of course, if you have sown seeds of prosperity. life is like a garden.
4. be patient with yourself
look at negative thoughts as weeds. be inspired by the beautiful. human beings when asked if they have good self-esteem, people answer, but of course. in reality, when you are critical of yourself, there is no good self-esteem, neither when you feel envy, insecurity, resentment, jealousy, anger, hatred, in short….
5. be kind to your mind.
during my talks i ask participants, "yes, would you allow a garbage bag to be thrown in your living room? they immediately respond, no! then he asked again, "why do you put garbage in your brain? you do it when you feed negative thoughts, pain, guilt, resentment, envy, insensitivity, anxiety, hatred, bitterness, bitterness, laziness, stress, anger, rage, criticism, etc.. we are human, it is true and lovingly imperfect.
we can learn to love ourselves little by little. everyone on the planet can practice the four loves: love of god, love of self, love of nature, love of neighbor.
6. praise yourself
enter the hall of praise. when you feel overwhelmed, sad or criticized by others. i like to go to the hall of praise that i have imaginary created and give myself a bath of popularity. people think that's weird, but what's weird is not doing it. why not recognize how good we are?
7. practice meditation
the only thing you should do is to become aware of your breathing. Meditating is not a big deal. everyone can meditate at least two minutes a day. you could close your eyes and breathe consciously. let your mind relax.
8. listen to your intuition
without being aware sometimes we override what our sixth sense tells us. we all have them. it's just a matter of learning to listen to it.
9. don't do to others what you wouldn't want them to do to you
sometimes we want others to be fair, kind, loving, generous, understanding and understanding with us. but we are not aware that we have sowed in others…. we want others to change. but, we cannot change anyone. we can only change ourselves.
10. improve eating habits
balance the food. sometimes, in our eagerness to do everything, we dedicate little time to eat at the recommended time. it is important to look for nutritious food. have you observed how you eat? what thoughts do you have when you eat? in restaurants i observe people who are more concerned about their cell phones than about respecting that sacred space. others eat on the spur of the moment. neither good nor bad.

I think about this all the time, sometimes the people that hurt us the most can be the ones to heal us. They hurt us so much to the point where we have no choice but to choose to heal other wise we will be driven to insanity if we haven’t reached that point already.
I think about the fact that people with horrible personalities, who constantly invoke negative emotions in others whether is be hatred, anger, pain etc, are really on this earth to heal those that need to be healed. It’s not an excuse for horrible people to carry on acting that way but an explanation for their purpose in your life. Everyone has a purpose in our lives and for someone to come and trigger us in unimaginable ways, the reason most likely is to push us to a point where we can make the hard decision as painful as it may be. We choose to let them go, we choose to heal, and in doing so we fulfil our contracts with them. With that said, there is no reason for us to turn back and retrieve a contract that has already been completed, there’s nothing else you can get out of it. What’s done is done and something better is waiting for you.
Life is so much more than the physicality of human emotions, we are souls with a purpose and each and everyone has their own set of targets they need to achieve by the end of this life. Theirs could be to hurt you to help you heal. One time I read something that went along the lines of: those that hurt you the most, are the souls closest to you on the other side. That made me think of the grand scheme of things, souls contracts and all. Helping me to delve deeper into healing. That quote is not to say they hurt me so much we must be soulmates if they want me to heal on a higher plane of existence. We are still living a human experience, if someone disrespects you or jeopardises your relationship- it’s time to move on to better things. The best of the best awaits you, you can’t hang onto someone who is sucking all the blood out of you, soon enough you will be depleted of life then what will be left to experience?
