This term should be pretty self-explanatory, but just in case, it refers to any source of calories that doesn’t come from solid food. That includes your favorite classic Coke, protein shakes, wine, fruit juice, etc. ⠀ ---⠀ 👀We have also heard that if we’re trying to get healthier, it is important to cut out liquid calories. ⠀ The argument is: liquid food is less satiating than solid food, meaning that it takes more of it to make you feel full...and it is true, if you are trying to lose weight and you need to restrict your calories, you should definitely be more mindful of the liquid calories you consume. But if you are on an #IntuitiveEating journey, or just trying to have a healthier more balanced life where weight loss is not your only goal, consuming liquid calories should not scare you. Liquid calories can almost be seen as a ' waste' of calories as they do barely anything in terms of filling you up,when dieting you want your calories to derive from solid calories and whole foods ( real food) in order to prevent being hungry as much as possible. Fat loss is all about focusing on foods that are super high in volume and low in calories. Watermelon, berries, celery, greens, salad are all great food. Americans are so underrated ☕ I love a cup of coffee and I can't imagine how many calories I used to consume drinking them. Whether it was full fat milk, filled with syrup or adding my own sugar, it was liquid calories that I never accounted for. From now on im taking it back to the good old Americano, with a dash of skimmed milk and no added sugar.
