If you can, reblog.
Australia’s newest climate report has shown how bad the climate crisis has gotten. The information is both horrifying and not new.
We knew this would happen. They knew this would happen. There is no longer an excuse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Australia’s climate has warmed by an average of 1.51 +_ 0.23 Celsius, its oceans have warmed by 1.08 Celsius since 1990.
There is less rain, less water flow, sea levels are rising and the risk of catastrophic fires grows every day.
If you have the means to change: change.
If you don’t: inspire others to.

Scurvy, a disease common between the 16th and 18th centuries which results from vitamin C deficiency, is re-emerging, according to doctors in Australia.  Medics have written in the journal BMJ Case Reports that the cost of living crisis, obesity and ultra-processed foods may be to blame for people not getting enough vitamin C and developing the disease. The report refers to a case, first reported in The Times, of a middle-aged man who presented at a hospital in Perth, Western Australia, with an unexplained, painful rash and bruising on his legs. Blood tests and scans ruled out several other illnesses and infections, mystifying staff. After several days in hospital, it emerged he mainly survived on processed foods and ate hardly any fruit and vegetables.

Radiohead's Thom Yorke, who is a big Israel supporter, was yelled at by a protester in Melbourne who shouted, that "200,000 had already been killed in Gaza, half of them children"
Yorke responded: "Don’t stand there like a coward, come here and say it. You wanna piss on everybody’s night? OK, you do. See you later, then."
He then left the stage and returned later to play one last song.
