Hiii this is your daily reminder that fanfic authors do what they do for free and get no monetary gain at all for hours of writing and sometimes years keeping up with a series and so unless the author specifically asks for critisim, dont give it. If you do, your an asshole :)

Authors can quite literally do anything they want to with their fic even if it doesnt fit your or the majority of the fandoms personal preferences.

#This includes but is not limited to #ocs #characters that you deem ooc #the speed of the plot #the ships used #quite literally anything negative you have to say about fics just keep to yourself #the reason i wrote my fics is because i enjoy the story im telling and i post it because there might be someone else who enjoys it too #i enjoy my characters and their relationships #i enjoy my ocs and how prevelant they are #i enjoy my plot timing #and i write when i can or feel like it so if it takes 6 months it takes 6 months #i do not care if you stop reading because the plot is taking too long or if i took too long to post #i dont write for peoples approval #dont get me wrong comments and asks and stuff are the best things in the world #and they definetly motivate people to post more #but thats not the goal #i dont even get a lot of hate comments or asks or anything #i think ive gotten like 3 in the 2 and a half years ive been posting #but it seems to be a trend recently to complain about how fic authors go about their stuff #like ive been seeing it A LOT #and its so dumb like no one is going to spend hours of unpaid time to curate to your specific wants get over yourself #thats what commisions are for!!!#if you want something specific commision your artists!#but especially the ooc thing. “i dont agree with your characterization on *whoever*”#I DONT CARE #people who read fanfic and offer unsoliciated critism are aweful istg #thats a good way to get an author to stop writing at all #this isnt aimed at anyone specific im just in a ranty mood #max thinks shes relevant #ao3

#my art #jujutsu kaisen #jjk #jjk fanart #jujutsu kaisen fanart #yuji itadori #itadori yuuji #jjk yuuji #been trying some stuff out in an attempt to beat the artblock out of myself with hammers #and i LOVE how it looks but god it takes so long painting like this #i had a ref style i was going for that was a lot more washed out and watercoloury #and to be fair my take on it did start out looking more adjacent to that #u can still kinda see remnants of the initial watercolour washes in the collar of yuuji's jacket in th bottom one #but it Did Not Last fhdjfjjg what can i say im a gouache/oils gal #i can't use soft greys and watery inks i need stark blacks i need the reddest red the colour wheel will provide #one thing i did keep from the refs were the sharp prickly fine lines i think those look real cool against textured colour blocks #anyway ive also been having a lot of fun playing with rly rly harsh lighting on the hair #and even thinner linework put down after the colour as opposed to before #probably one of the reasons why it takes a lot longer but also it mimics traditional art a lot more #ill probably continue playing around with this sort of render ! or at least keep elements of it

sad: falling out of a hyperfixation

tragic: watching your beloved friends and mutuals fall out of the hyperfixation while you're still in it

#oughhhhhhh #this is about the dca fandom but also about every other strong fixation ive had over the years lol #i know it's normal and inevitable esp for less popular works or minor characters with little canon content #and there's nothing wrong with smaller communities of course those rock #but there’s just something special about getting into something at the same time as a lot of other people all at once #and existing in this chaotic fandom space that's just bursting with creativity and passion #i've been in fandom spaces for as long as some of you have been alive and i've only come across that sort of unbridled joy like #a handful of times at best #it's just a heartbreaking feeling to see real lightning in a jar fandoms like that wither away as people drift away #(understandably so!)#anyway don't mind me i'm just having thoughts #musing about fandoms past as well #that i too eventually moved on from but remember fondly even if im not active in anymore #also my music just aint hitting right so im just sitting in silence which makes me more Contemplative(tm)

Me watching a Wicked bootleg and remembering the bit where they use Nessa's character to speedrun through every offensive trope and stereotype about disabled people:

#wicked #nessa rose is like.#the shows writers looked up a list of 'offensive tropes related to disability'#and were like 'that sounds like a great idea for a character'#I keep seeing people praise the Wicked movie and also that they've been changing up nessa's character....#is her plotline done less poorly in the movie?#Im hoping they make massive changes to the second act #but the first act is still a bit funky as well #ive noticed theres not a lot of discussion about movie Nessa #and im wondering whether they make any efforts to undo some of the wildly Oof stuff from the musical
