That’s okay, I will respond to this ask rather than the previous one (but just for context for anyone else the previous ask was about fan fiction so wan’t anything mean). This ended up being a really lengthy answer because I have lots of thoughts!!! 

I’ll put the answer under the cut and tag as anti Lando despite this really just being my opinion and I personally don’t think I am being particularly harsh here but maybe people will disagree.

Firstly hopefully to most people it goes without saying that sending death threats is not okay, that goes for any of the drivers (and various other individuals that I have seen targeted over the past few years). I also have never understood people specifically going to an individual’s social media page just to spout negativity or abuse at them, if you don’t like someone you don’t need to follow them. 

However, I am surprised that people seem to be shocked that Lando is receiving hate online as this is absolutely nothing new and, if I am being honest, I have seen worse (not that this is a competition!).

I will speak from the perspective of being a Max supporter and say that the abuse he has received both online and at track has been appalling over the years. After Silverstone 2021 there were plenty of comments from people saying he ‘deserved’ such an awful crash or that they wished it had been worse. Even this year there were memes going around saying that maybe we needed a repeat of Silverstone 21 (a meme liked by Lando’s dad no less, not that I think we should be blaming children for their parent’s actions!). Not only that but there is rarely a week that goes by that I don’t see jokes online about how Jos is the only one that ‘can beat Max’ or people posting memes about Max being left at a gas station when he does badly. Max needed a bodyguard in Mexico last year because there were concerns over death threats, he’s been booed up on the podium, had people chanting cheat at him in the fan zone, every comment section on his social media includes comments telling him he is a cheat or that his achievements mean nothing. The British media are like vultures any time there is even a hint of controversy. I don’t know why everyone is suddenly up in arms about Lando receiving hate, perhaps its a case of only caring when it happens to ‘their’ driver. 

It doesn’t just happen to Max either. I don’t follow Lewis on social media but I still know the type or racist abuse he has faced over the years. Other drivers also receive abuse - Lance for example has vile things said about him, Nicholas Latifi was sent death threats after 2021. I am sure most if not every driver has experienced some level of hate. Social media can be extremely toxic. 

Do I think any of the drivers should have to deal with such toxicity? No, but Lando is nowhere near the only one to receive hate and I don’t think someone like Max who appears ‘strong’ should have to put up with things because people get the impression it doesn’t bother him.

Whether the other drivers notice, well probably they do but its not happening just to Lando. Did Lando realise how much toxicity was being thrown at Max after Austria or Mexico? Did he try and calm things with the media or did he double down and make things worse for Max? 

As for taking Lando’s words out of context. That definitely happens from time to time, the same as with any driver. Media goes for clickbait headlines and run with them. The problem is that Lando has also said things that haven’t been taken out of context and that people still find distasteful. The comments about it not being talent and being luck did not come across well. I was tempted to give him the benefit on that one and assume he was referring to himself and saying it was not him being untalented but unlucky but then he doubled down by saying nobody deserved to win the race more than George - how can I take that any other way other than the fact he was saying Max didn’t ‘deserve’ to win the race. 

As for Lando saying he thought he could win the WDC, if he didn’t think he could win it this year then to me that would be more of a concern. He has a championship winning car and has done for most the season, if he can’t win it now then when?! He should have been confident that he could win or at least put up a good fight. I would have had no problem with him openly saying he is going for the championship. Look at Charles who is not afraid to say that whilst it is still possible he is still fighting. I think part of the problem here lies with Mclaren because they should have been fully backing Lando and hyping him up but seemed to flip flop back and forth about whether they thought he was truly in the fight. It’s hardly going to give Lando confidence when his team don’t seem to be backing him as strongly as they could be. 

As for Brazil, Lando didn’t have a great race. George got past him at the start. He made too many errors. Charles finished in front of him despite starting behind him. Max, Esteban and Pierre took a risk staying out on those worn inters, they gambled on the fact the race would be red flagged but also on their abilities and confidence to keep the car on track under those conditions. They all did extremely well and deserved their podium spots. The most important thing though is that all the drivers came away without serious injuries because over the course of that weekend there were numerous occasions where entertainment was put over safety. If a driver felt they had to pit for safety reasons then I am glad they took that step.

Lando is younger than Max but I don’t think we need to baby him in terms of his racing or in terms of giving him a free pass with what he says in the media. He is 24 years old, the same age Max was when Max won his first championship under very intense pressure. 

I think you are correct about confidence or self worth affecting him. Whilst I wouldn't like to comment to much on his mentality, to me (and I don’t tend to watch too many of his interviews so I could be wrong) he seems to flop back and forth between being overly critical of himself and then also not taking accountability and saying someone else just had the fastest car or were lucky. I think it would be really good for him to be able to look as objectively as possible about where he has actually made mistakes and can improve but also being able to pick out the things he has done well and be proud of those things. 

Overall I don’t think any drivers should have to put up with the amount of hate that they have to put up with but Lando is not the only one to receive hate and, dare I say it, I don’t even think it has been as vicious as some of the things I have seen over the years. Social media is toxic and people should be more mindful and realise these are real people - all of them!! 

Also, once again lets be thankful that nobody was seriously hurt over the weekend and lets hope the Fia take steps to act more swiftly when safety cars and red flags are needed and that they put safety above other concerns.

in s5b when hes with stiles in the tunnels (i forgot why they're down there but whatever) and stiles tells him "oh yeah, the guy that killed his own sister when he was nine?" and theo argues back "yeah. i was nine. i had no idea what was going on." and that he also still believed santa exists so obviously he believed the dread doctors when they told him she wanted him to have his heart.

first of all: this is s5b. hes long dropped his act and he has no reason to lie in this moment. he knows that stiles wont fall for his lies and hes stopped lying and transitioned into threatening and intimidating anyway. theres no good reason for theo to lie to stiles here: theres no actual benefit that would come from that.

and his behavior points towards him telling the truth. instead of deflecting or making a joke, or any of the stuff he usually does to get his way, he starts explaining and defending himself. he seems almost agitated that stiles claims that he did kill tara and argues why he didnt.

and ofc stiles doesnt believe him and tells him "i think you pushed her. i think you liked it." which is, sorry, utter bullshit. i understand why stiles says this (yk. theo killed his bffie and all that) but i think stiles is purposely turning everything that he knows about theo into something evil. he doesnt want to believe that theo was a victim of his circumstances, because that would make him human, that would explain why he became the person that he is. its easier to fall back onto the "hes just purely evil" argument, because then he can hate theo for what he did.

stiles is smart. thats his whole thing. thats his whole thing with theo, that he was "smart enough not to trust him" as theo says to the sheriff in s6a. stiles knows that theo was a child, that its likely that theo got manipulated and groomed by the dread doctors. but, i think, he decides not to care about that, to ignore that. he hates theo and he wants to hate theo, but if he starts looking at the reasons for why he did what he did, he'll begin to understand him. and while he'll still never forgive theo, that will reduce this fury he has for him because, newsflash, theo was a CHILD.

people argue that tw doesnt show us enough of his back story to back this up and yeah, i kinda agree. we dont get enough of his story because teen wolf ALWAYS does this. with every character. they insinuate something, they start something interesting that could give their characters depth and then they abandon it and its like the characters just forget about it. all this show has is small details for fans to focus on if you want to analyze anything, because this show is objectively not good enough to actually do that.

+ theo is a side character. he wasnt even meant to stay as long as he did and cody did his best to work with the material. if your argument is that theres missing context and only vaguely shown stuff, im sorry but thats so stupid. thats not a good argument for in canon. "oh but we never see theo do this or that" HES A SIDE CHARACTER. he wasnt even supposed to come back! and tw is not a very good show! obviously they added more depth to his character in s6 because cody came back. like yeah theres stuff that doesnt make sense (like the show saying he didnt have a heart condition), because his back story got added as an afterthought in s6. you cant only look at s5 and judge his character based on that. his depth comes from s6 and its not the characters fault that the show has bad writing.

and if you simply dont like theo, cool. i dont like a bunch of characters in tw. but i find this argument that hes actually evil and deserved getting tortured and whatever exhausting and annoying.

if you dont have empathy for his character in s6 bc you just hate him, fine. i dont care. but if you're talking about this in a more analytical way? fuck off. he was a child, the show points towards him getting groomed and abused by the dread doctors and guess what? even during his villain arc, hes still a child. yes he should take responsibility for what he did, im not excusing any of that stuff. but theres reasons for why he did all that.

and again, dumb tv logic reasons, but most of the villains getting away unscathed, fucking peter hale and deucalion being allowed to just kinda wander around while theo is in an eternal time loop of torture? like this technically erases the packs rule of not killing because i dont think its weird for me to argue that getting non-stop tortured without the ability to die is objectively worse than actually dying. and yeah, tv logic, but if you think that (in canon, not just bc you personally dont like theo) he deserved that, idk. weird. very weird.

"Damn, im not shocked, who would wanna date his ugly ass" You say, knowing damn well youve had a crush on him since you met him.

Matt laughs “oh please, girls literally salivate over him, he’s just a heartbreaker.”

"Ha! I bet you he had to pay girls money to date him."

"Oh please, I've seen firsthand how girls act around him. You're just jealous a guy like him doesnt look in your direction."

Your jaw drops, shocked at what Matt just said. "Erm actually, i have a boyfriend thank you very much."

You nod and the doobell rings "Oh look! There he is now!"

Nate overhears them speaking and walks over to them “what’s y/n lying about now?”

Matt laughs, having fun tormenting you “well, that didn’t take very long to confess.

Nate smiles, amused. Your lack of a boyfriend was a well-known fact that everyone teased you about.

Everyone knew that yiou had never had a boyfriend, even though youve liked several guys, and been in several talking stages, some instnces even led to the guy leading you on, but eventually breaking your heart. What people didnt know though, is that this made you very self concious, your self esteem was very low and you felt like you were unloveable.

Nate always knew that you struggled with low self esteem, he also knew about the guys that led you on and he hated that for you. You may be feisty and mean but you didn’t deserve how some of those guys had treated you. And he would be lying if he said he never caught himself finding you attractive.

You quickly went back to your sassy attitude when you caught Nate staring. "What the fuck are you looking at?"

Nate snaps out of the small trance he was in and quickly looks away, trying to hide his blush. “I’m not staring at anything.”.

Matt stands there observing the interaction between you two. He knew you both for long enough to see that there was a tension between you. A tension different than usual. It was like you kept glancing at each other when you thought the other wasn’t looking, you both seemed to get along yet have the urge to bicker. There was something there but neither of you realized it because youre too stubborn.

“oh come on, you totally were”

Nate looks back at you, not wanting to admit that you caught him staring, so he does the next best thing and tries to deny it “No I wasn’t, I think you’re just desperate to be looked at by someone."

This was the last straw for you, you felt tears well up in your eyes, but instead of letting them fall, you chose to let anger take over "SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LEAVE ME ALONE YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE" You run up to your room and slam the door

Nate’s eyes widen at Payton’s reaction. He knew he had hit a soft spot and immediately regretted what he had said. He looks back behind him at Matt who stares in shock at your abrupt exit.

“Well now look at what you did dumbass”

“I didn’t mean to..”

Matt rolls his eyes at Nate

“Oh shut up yes you did. You enjoy getting on her nerves. You just got a way more emotional reaction than usual”

Nate sighs, feeling bad for what he said. He rubs the back of his neck, frustrated with himself.

"Yeah well, I didn’t mean anything by it.. she shouldn’t be so sensitive about it"

Matt, glares at him "Well? Areent you gonna go tallk to her?"

Nate sighs, he knows he should go talk to you. He runs a hand through his hair. "I don’t know.. isn’t she gonna just yell at me if I go up there?

Matt rolls his eyes again, knowing damn well that Nate was just looking for excuses to not talk to you "You never know unless you try. Just go up there and talk to her"

Nate groans, but reluctantly decides to go talk to you. "Alright, I’m going. But I’m blaming you if it goes terribly”

Nate starts walking up the stairs, and pauses a moment to build the courage to knock on your door. Then finally he musters up the courage to knock, hesitantly calling your name.

“Hey, y/n?”

"Go away. Dont waste your time on me, Im irrelevant" you sob. This makes nate immideately open the door

Nate opens the door and sees you sitting on the bed, tears falling down your face. He immediately regrets what he had said. Sure, you guys bickered, but he never wanted to see you cry. Seeing you like that broke his heart. Nate quickly walks up to your bed and sits down next to you.

“Hey, don’t say that..”

You refuse to look at him, feeling embarrassed that he was seeing you cry.

"Im serious.. You dont need to waste your time on me, I’m just a hopeless loser-"

"Baby, dont say stuff like that, you are the complete opposite" Nate says

You wipes your tears and looks up at him.Youre taken by surprise by how tender and caring he sounds. It’s so different from your usual fights.

“But I am.. no guy has ever looked at me twice, and every guy I’ve been interested in has either lead me on or dumped me. Its obvious that there’s something wrong with me, that no guy can find me good enough..”

Nathan cups your face with his hand and wipes your tears away

Your face turns red. Youre embarrassed that he’s seeing you so vulnerable like this

“Hey, you don’t have to pretend to care, I know you were only trying to insult me earlier.”

Instead of responding, nate pulled your face closer and kissed you.

Your eyes widen with shock, but you quickly melt into the kiss, closing your eyes and placing a hand on his chest for support. You start to kiss him more passionately, enjoying the feeling of your lips against his.

Nate pushes you down onto the bed as he kisses you. Your bodies getting closer. Nates hands rub up and down your side, as he gently starts to kiss your neck, finding your sweet spot almost immedately.

Matt walks into your room, wondering whats taking so long, but he is disgusted by what he finds. "WHAT THE HELL MAN. I TOLD YOU TO APOLOGIZE TO HER, NOT FUCK HER!!"\

Nate quickly sits up, embarrassed that Matt walked in on you. You, who’s hair was messy and face flushed, were blushing intensely

”M-MATT ITS NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE”

Matt glares at you both, arms crossed

”Then what in the hell are you two doing then?”

You and Nate look at each other, not knowing how to explain to Matt what he walked in on. Nate rubs the back of his neck, feeling awkward, and your face was red as ever.

“We- um-“ He sighs, knowing that he had no excuse for what he did, and he didn’t want to lie “We were just making out..”

Matt looks at you, not buying your excuse for a second “Just making out, sure. Y/n I thought you said you didn’t like him, and Nate, I thought you said she was a pain in the ass?”

"OMG MATT JUST GET THE FUCK OUT!" You shout

Nate nods quickly, also wanting him gone

“Yeah, just get out dude..”

Yeah i know, that she leaves him to mr Wonder n Susie, but lets be honest, were here even a single time when the kids didnt just leave the house n cause problem? No. So i think the Fathers words are make perfect sense, n Lila should think bout it. Also a lil thing i just thought bout, why would Lila throw away her husbands stuff? If he actually died why would she do this? Or hes not dead n he just left for some reason? Idk

Colin didnt deserve Penelope

i didnt believe that colin deserved penelope or even properly liked her for who she is as a person but instead liked the valedation he got from her.

i know this is contreversial but hear me out ,

colin's whole character arc is based around the fact that he for one isnt taken seriously by his family and second that he doesnt know who he is. he's the third son in a rich family and doesnt really stand out in any way.

so penelope who always since their first meeting has looked at colin like he hung the moon and always cared for him greatly is always going to appeal to him because she makes him feel important and valued.

i also was not convinced that colin wasnt just sexually attracted to Pen, like the proposal in the carriage scene when he fingered her was not romantic at all.

listen, its probably different in the book but i felt that the showrunner and screenwriters didnt believe in polin's romance enough so filled the story with 94 other sideplots. this is a shame because there is so much potential with polin and they just fumbled the bag MASSIVELY.

childhood best friends to lovers is literally my favourite trope for so many reasons - i just fw the slowburn for like 16yrs lol. but WE DIDNT SEE THE RELATIONSHIP ENOUGH it was so rushed. WE DIDNT EVEN SEE THE FIRST TIME PEN AND COLIN MEET WHAT A FLOP, they had a scene where they talked about it WHAT HAPPENED TO SHOW NOT TELL GUYS.

and i get we need the whistledown reveal but i genuinely believe that people dont watch bridgerton for drama and suspense but for good romance, period drama vibes and hot men and women.

i just didnt believe in the romance guys im sorry and this obviously has nothing to do with luke and nicola i love them both dearly but both me and my friend rose were left feeling indifferent by season 3's main couple.

but i promise there was a lot i did love about bridgerton s3 like francesca and john, eloise and cressida and the bridgerton family together as a whole!

What you deserve

"Hola? Who is this?" Pablo asked groggily haven been woken up by your friend who quickly introduced herself and told him about what happened.

"She locked herself in the bathroom and doesn't want to come put..I don't know what to do and I know you're her closest friend.." she explained not having to say anymore since Pablo was already on his feet getting ready.

When you saw the message and the picture of your boyfriend kissing some random blond at the bar, your whole world fell into pieces. Your friend was at the same place and took the picture as proof and saying that he said you were way "too innocent" and "boring" to that girl before taking her to the room above.

"HIjo de puta! How did I trust him!? " you talked to yourself while tears were flooding your face when suddenly loud knocks snapped you back into reality.

"Preciosa? It's Pablo..please, open the door for me?" his voice was quiet and gentle and suddenly you felt even worse knowing that you have loved him for so long and now he sees you like this. You never thoughts you had a chance with him, especially with the newly acquired fame, and that's why you settled for another man. What a mistake!

"No.." you whisper back really not wanting him to see you like this. You mascara was all over your face and your hair was splattered everywhere.

"Just open amiga!" her voice was heard and you got annoyed that she was even there. You didn't care if Pablo was here (you wanted him here) but you already told her to leave several times!

"Just leave me alone!" you yelled this time hearing Pablo asking her to leave calmly and then doors closed signaling that she was no longer there.

"She's gone preciosa..it's just us. Wanna tell me everything?" he said sitting against the door so that your backs were on either side.

"He cheated Pabs..he cheated on me" you finally say it feeling even worse when those words left your lips. Suddenly, it all became real.

"I know preciosa..but he is an idiot who lost something special..something someone else desires so badly and can't have it" Pablo spoke while you cried thinking all of this is your fault. Maybe you were too innocent, maybe you should have slept with him?

"It's my fault.." you say and that broke Pablo's heart to hear.

"No it's not! You are a perfect girlfriend..all every guy is looking for but not every guy deserves.." he spoke but none of those words were getting to you in that moment. You felt so betrayed and alone.

"I should have listened to you.." you add remembering the way Pablo reacted when you told him about your relationship. You two even had an argument because he wouldn't approve and always said that guy was a sleaze bag.

"Ah preciosa..I didn't say it because I knew..I said it because I was selfish" and those words made you think wondering what he meant.

"W..what?" you were sniffling hearing Pablo sigh

"I didn't want you with him because I was jealous..I didn't want to share you" he admitted and your cheeks blushed wondering if he meant it like he wanted you for himself as more than just a friend?

"Um..you can come in..if you want?" you say unlocking the door and moving a little and he quickly opened sitting besides you and immediately placing his arm behind your shoulder and pulling you closer.

"Oof you look a bit rough preciosa" he chuckled and you blushed nodding your head and looking down in embarrassment but he was quick to bring a wet towel and start cleaning mascara from your face.

"That's better! You were a real cute raccoon, you know?" he said smiling and that made me smile at least a little bit.

"How about we get off that cold floor and go to the couch instead huh? I can make that special coco you like so much??" he offers and you take his hand standing up and feeling a bit dizzy but he was right there to hold you and help you to the couch.

When he placed a blanket on top of you and got you the coco, you already felt ten times better. You were still wondering what he meant previously tho..you just had to ask him about it now!

"P..Pabs?" you say and he turns towards you taking the cup and putting it on the table.

"Yes, preciosa? You need something else?" he says and you give him a kind smile shaking your head.

"Um..what did you mean when you said you didn't want to share me?" you ask with red cheeks noticing that he took his time before answering.

"It's..not the night to talk about it" he says but seeing his eyes in that moment you knew you both felt the same..you felt excited now.

"Please! Tell me so I don't have to think about what happened tonight??? P..pleaseeee!" you gave him your best puppy look and he sighed about to talk when loud knocks on your front door interrupted you both. It was almost midnight..there was only one person who would come now. Shit!

"He's here.." you say flinching a little but Pablo was already on his feet ordering you to sit there and let him handle it.

"Amor please open up! She didn't mean anything to me! You're everything I want!" his pleas were echoing the hallway and you knew those were all empty words and lies.

Pablo opened the door clearly agitated the moment he got face to face with you now ex boyfriend.

"Get the fuck out of here ímbecil!" Pablo's words were sharp and that mixed with your ex being drunk led to punches being thrown and you begging them to stop.

Suddenly, you were holding onto Pablo's waist pulling him back and crying into his shirt.

"Please Pablo..please for me! I'm done with him!" you said and that made him finally calm down and throw you ex out before locking the door.

"Díos mio! You're bleeding! Your eye!" you quickly rushed him to sit down and grabbed the first aid kit while he caught his breath finally calming down completely.

"I'm fine preciosa..how are you?" he said while you tried cleaning his wound before it gets infected but he kept moving around wincing in pain.

"You're not fine! You're bleeding! Let me help you, damn it!" you were straddling his lap now without even realizing it and that made him freeze in place fighting an urge to groan.

"There, that's much better! We'll change the bandage later..." you say looking at his face wondering why was he quiet all of the sudden.

"Um..preciosa?" his voice sounded different too like it was suddenly lower and you wondered what was wrong. You waited for him to speak.

"Ugh..if you're done..could you..um..get off my lap?" he said and then you realized where you were your bum moving against him and quickly getting off with a completely red face.

"Fuck! I'm so sorry Pabs! Um..I was just trying to help and I didn't realize.." you were mumbling but he interrupted you quickly.

"It's alright preciosa. Thank you for helping me..I just didn't want to react inappropriately "he says looking down at his lap and you realized what he meant. You remembered now the conversation that was interrupted by your ex.

"You were jealous when I got a boyfriend..you don't want to share me..and you get turned on when I sit on your lap? Pabs..I want you to be honest with me now" you say moving closer and his jaw clenches while he looked into your eyes.

"Maybe tonight is the bad time.." he said but you were done waiting and constantly pondering with the same question in your head.

"Do you love me Pablo?" you say straight up feeling nervous but knowing that you deserved to know the answer.

"I love you mi amor! I loved you for so long..and I always knew that you were meant to be mine..I just never did anything" he said and you smiled feeling your heart exploding when you heard his say it finally.

"Why not?" you moved even closer desperately wanting to be near him again and he welcomed it.

"Because I didn't think that I deserved you...but now I know that I am the only man that deserves you..the only one capable of loving you right..and making you happy..you're mine preciosa" his hand held your face and suddenly your lips were touching exploding in passion and longing.

It never felt like this with your ex..or with anybody else..kissing Pablo felt like peace..like you finally found the right person. You were sitting there kissing for few minutes until an idea popped into your head and you pulled away.

"N..no..more besitos!" Pablo said and you chuckled nodding your head but still not giving in.

"So..um..can I get back on your lap now cariño??" you smirk and he does as well grabbing your thighs and pulling them on top of him before your lips met again.

"I love you amorcito.." Pablo whispered into the kisses and your hands caressed his hair while you were kissing him back.

"I love you too Pabs..' you said realizing that for the new story to start the old one has to end <333
