Blogmas: A Kylie Skin Christmas

Hi guys,

Calling all Kylie Skin fans, I have found the perfect christmas present! Now cast your minds back to 2+ years ago, I did a few blog posts about Kylie Skin products and honestly adored the brand. Since I was trying so many skincare products at the time once everything ran out I simply forgot to go and repurchase the products. Last week I was in Selfridges and they had a promo on the Kylie Skin 4-Piece Mini Set , £36.00 so I decided to get it again. Honestly I've been wearing the products for a week and I love how much skin feels!

Now Kylie Skin is a mid range skincare brand, in my opinion I expected it to be more expensive but like her makeup it's more affordable than expected. In this gift set you get 4 travel size products in her iconic baby pink packaging. You get a Mini Foaming Face Wash, Mini Face Moisturiser , Mini Vitamin C Serum and a Mini Vanilla Milk Toner. These 4 products used together create a perfect skincare routine that would suit any skin type really.

In my experience using these 4 products together has really made my skin feel smooth and create a great makeup base. I love that the products included in this set are really gentle on the skin, especially the Foaming Face Wash. I have been a big fan of her moisturiser for a long time and go through phases where I wear it before bed or I use it instead of a primer because it makes my face so smooth and even.

Blogmas: Kylie Cosmetics Black Friday Haul 🤍

Hi guys,

During Black Friday weekend Kylie Jenner had up to 40% off her Kylie Cosmetics collection so I decided it was the perfect time to pick up some new products!

So let's chat through the products I picked up, starting with face products. The first product I added to my cart was the Pressed Powder Blush in shade 334 Pink Power, (normal price, £19.00). I adore Kylie's powder blush formula because the shades are so pigmented and she has a great shade range. I went for Pink Power which is a stunning traditional pink tone. Next I went for the Matte Liquid Eyeshadow in It's Her World £20.00. I am obsessed with Kylie's liquid formula because the shades are so pigmented, blend like a dream and last all day. In the spirit of pink I went for the shade It's Her World which is a dusty pink shade. Lastly in the face category I decided to pick up the travel sized Kylash Volume Mascara , £12.00. I have heard so much hype around this mascara for months now but I didn't want to buy a full size mascara. Luckily on Kylie's site she has a travel size one which was perfect for me. Personally I've used the mascara for 2 weeks and I am obsessed!!!! The mascara doesn't transfer, it isn't clumpy and makes my eyes look so much brighter. Honestly I'm annoyed I didn't just get the full sized.

Now let's chat lip products because I couldn't order off Kylie and not get some lip treats let's be honest here. The first item I added to my cart was the Gloss Drip Lip gloss , £17.00 in the shade underestimated. This product was actually the reason I went onto the website because I've wanted to try it for ages but wasn't sure, luckily it was in the discount. Underestimated is a gorgeous sheer baby pink shade and the formula is amazing. The gloss is so hydrating, makes my lips look amazing and really lasts like it isn't one of those glosses that looks great for 20 mins and then disappears, it's really worth trying for yourself. Next up I added a Lip Liner, £13.00 in the shade Forever & Always. I adore Kylie's lip liners as a formula because they are so long lasting and really make my lips look bigger but kinda natural which is surprising. Forever & Always is a great shade to pick up because it's a warm pink nude so it would suit a lot of skin tones. Lastly I picked up another Matte Lip Crayon, £17.00 in the shade Main Character. Out of Kylie's most recent launches the lip crayons are by far my favourite because they are long lasting and look amazing! Previously I bought a soft nude shade, this time I picked up a dusty mauve shade which I love, it has a like pink / red undertone and it's perfect for the festive season.

this image has helped me alot recently like its ok to like populaur things and then like the complete opposite sometimes like kylie its ok to listen ptv and also like those little claw clips and leggijngs or whatever do you understand im not just girl im kylie i like a whole lot of things that clash and thats ok since im not defined by my aesthetic or how people see me :)

Celebrity skincare/makeup brands

Rihanna,Hailey, Selena G, Ariana, Kim,Kylie, JLo, Gwenyth Paltrow, Gwen Stefani, Millie Bobby Brown, Alicia Keys, Gaga, Halsey, Jessica Alba. What do these female celebrities have in common? Well they either have a makeup, skincare, or beauty brand. It’s like every other month some celebrity decides they have the magical products to perfect skin. Now there is some where it makes sense why they would start a beauty brand like Rihanna, Kim, Kylie, Lady Gaga and Halsey because they are known for their beauty or makeup looks. I also will say that Selena Gomez gets a pass because she made a brand that targeted a certain type of makeup customers. I feel that Rare beauty is for people who wear a more natural, minimalist look while I feel that Fenty is more inclusive, & Haus Laboratories and About Face are more for creative, loud looks. As much as I love Ariana, I don’t really understand why she came out with a makeup brand because although she has an iconic look, I wouldn’t say it was because of her makeup, she’s also releasing a skincare brand. I also looked at the promotion pics and although I haven’t seen any reviews,it looks a little basic or different to the other popular celeb brands. I would also like to mention the male beauty brands, specifically the nail polish brands: Harry styles, pleasing and Mgk’s UN/DN. I haven’t really seen anyone really talk about Harry’s brand but Mgk has been really good at promoting it and has a clear vision/aesthetic which I think Harry needs to learn from mgk if he is serious about it. I will say that the shape of Harry’s nail polish is very cool, he just needs to promote it better. This is the one thing I have a problem with celeb beauty brands is that they either have bad promotion, are basic products that are overpriced or the skincare products don’t even work or are sometimes harmful to the skin. Like I’m pretty sure, Hailey, Jlo ,Jessica, Gwenyth, Kylie, Kim aren’t certified dermatologists and clear skin is most likely due to cosmetic doctors. Kylie’s face scrub, for example, had walnuts in it which I think some dermatologists have said that scrubs with particles could cause tearing in the face. I also think that you're not supposed to have face cleansers w/fragrance or alcohol in them. Sometimes though, celebs actually care and put in effort but I feel most see it as a way for them to get money from the public who want to look like them.
