avengers spoilers for any lateies like me🧍‍♀️
just finished watching the inifity saga like 5 years too late, and oh my GOD it BROKE ME.
tony was legit my fav, even above ROCKET. even above peter and cap and nebula and strange.
i mean im usually a movie crier, these waterworks be bustin their backs, slaving away 24/7 cause honestly 🧍‍♀️ (im an angry crier too, shocking but unrelated)
anyways UGH. legit sobbing because the way peter and tony both died together, but pepper shoved peter aside to let herself have a moment, like i get it, and i ♥️ u for being so iconic, but you could both hold tony for that last moment, and peter was like a son to him😭 (i get ur his wife n all but CMON pepperbabes, lowkey ruined an iconic moment, and the irony of it all. its acc giving the rose jack door triangle)
anyways rant over because they’re all still alive in a happy little stark tower in my delusion!!😇

Marvel x DC au except it's specifically yj98 core 4 during civil war because I think young "regularly goes against governments when they have even the slightest feeling that they're in the wrong" justice would not only be very easy to recruit to cap's side but would without a doubt cause caps side to win along with adding another fresh layer of chaos onto everything

almost every superhero team has a member whos superpower is Rich. Batman does this for the justice league. Iron man does this for the avengers. Professor x does this for the x men. And you may go, Jester, all these characters have other powers and/or skills but i say none of these characters has a power more important to the narrative of their team story than Rich. "rich" as a superhero power is different from rich in the real world as it functions quite outside the bonds of reality and is utilized to overcome obstacles the same way laser eyes are. we need a superhero base? tony has a whole tower in new york. we need to inflitrate a high society event? bruce can get us tickets. we need to pay for an entire school with high quality amenities full of students who by and large cannot pay any form of tuition? dont worry charles has got it. how did the xavier family even make that money. is charles xavier managing it in any way. these arent questions you need to ask. because the answer is that his secondary mutation is being absolutely fucking loaded

DC (With Optional DP x DC and/or Marvel x DC) Writing Prompt
The Justice League have not yet revealed their identities to each other for one reason or another, but at some point a villain starts mysteriously targeting rich figures with a lot of influence for unknown reasons (up to you).
The Justice League needed an idea to ensure they could keep the potential targets safe.
This leads to Bruce Wayne and Oliver Queen both waking up exhausted, the last thing they remember was attending a Gala before suddenly everything went black, surrounded by members of the Justice League who have kidnapped them took them to someplace safe to be guarded until the heroes sort this out.
Now, as much as Bruce and Ollie would like to tell their fellow League members their true identifies to not be babied for the next who knows how long and actually help, unfortunately people like Lex Luthor among other rich influential figures on the planet are among them so there's not really a way to reveal their identities without someone at least becoming suspicious they have SOME PERSONAL TIE to the Justice League.
Meanwhile the Justice League have been trying to call Batman and Green Arrow for hours but they haven't picked up. Though it seems Black Canary is amused enough with Mr. Queen.
Or... The Justice League kidnapped numerous billionaires (including Bruce Wayne and Oliver Queen) to keep them safe from a villain targeting rich influential figures, hilarity ensues.
For added optional chaos...
- Bruce's publicly known children are among the ones there with Spoiler and Red Hood (if you wanna say Jason Todd is still LEGALLY dead) amused to no end.
- Vlad Masters and/or Tony Stark are among the rich figures. The former is absolutely annoyed and is unable to escape so easily due to so many heroes keeping an eye on him, while the latter considers calling an Iron Man suit here to assist the Justice League because it's not like him being Iron Man is a secret.

What’s so funny to me is in Justice League action, the League is trying so hard to do Team Building exercises with Bruce Wayne and in the first few episodes of Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes the Avengers are hesitant to spend time with one another except Tony Stark
Now I have this thought in the back of my mind about Tony hanging out with the Justice League and playing mini golf while Bruce and the Avengers agree to do missions and part ways
It’s almost poetic how different they are compared to their teams but they’re exactly what the team needs. Bruce keeps the league on track and Tony brings fun to the Avengers
Whats even more poetic is Clark is the one bringing fun and warmth to the league while Steve keeps the team on track
Man I love poetry

I just of a Night at the Museum AU where lightning strikes a comic store and despite all logic all the statues of heroes, villains, etc. just come alive and it's absolute chaos.
The Justice League is trying to crack the case why they are suddenly in a store where all their secret identities are on full display, the Avengers are running around and smashing things, somewhere Erik Lehnsherr and Charles Xavier are playing chess and arguing.
And the person on shift is a fan but is totally not getting paid enough for this sh*t.

The voices are getting louder.

Comparing The Avengers to the Justice league but it's actually accurate
We're just gonna do the main ones because otherwise we'd be here forever
I'm also mainly using mcu characterizations because I'm not as familiar with Marvel comics as I am with DC
Iron Man - Batman
This one goes without saying
Tony is literally Batman and Brucie Wayne put together
Billionaire Playboy Philantropist Superhero who?
They both have ridiculous paranoia
They're rich orphans with British butler (or butler adjacent if we're talking about Jarvis)
Incredibly smart and know it
They both run multimillion dollar companies
and work to better the world both in and out of their super hero persona's
Thor - Aquaman
Non human royalty
friendly and funny
Both of them have a strong sense of duty and loyalty towards their people
They just don't get normal society a lot of the time
Also interwoven magic and science
and they both have really strong elementally based powers
plus a very specific weapon that is inherently associated with them
to be honest, I don't actually know much about aquaman but it feels right
Captain America - Wonder Woman
They are literally soldiers
They both fought in a world war
Also Diana's love intrest is literally a blonde soldier named Steve
Both of them have a strong sense of duty and moral obligation
They're also the most fond of proteges and younger heros
I'm sorry but Steve had no business being so nice to Peter during the airport battle
Dude you are literally fighting each other
Idk the military background makes them more similar in my opinion
also the fact that they're super behind on a lot of modern day stuff
Like everyone remembers Diana discovering ice cream don't we?
and grandpa steve my beloved
Hulk - Superman
okay this one was a little hard
at first I was gonna do Guy Gardner cuz green guy with anger issues. But Guy's kind of an asshole and Bruce is a sweetheart
so then I thought the Flash for the science but I don't think Bruce is into puns enough to match with either Barry or Wally
But Clark is perfect
Clark is a dork
But he is genuinely really intelligent
also they literally wear the same glasses
I think Clark and Bruce would get along really well
If you want to talk about the anger issues
Well
We've all scene Batman V. Superman
Tbh not my favorite version of superman
Clark is obviously not quite prone to rage
and it's definitely no where near hulk levels though
But when he's angry it gets destructive real fast
think about most of his fights with doomsday
Constantly worries about his own strength and hurting the people he loves
Which is a struggle both of them are characterized by
Black Widow - Orphan/Black Bat/Batgirl
okay I know cass isn't technically a member of the league
but hear me out
also I'm not actually sure which title is Cass's current one
anyways
both were raised from childhood to be a lethal weapon
and they truly are
they both have a major guilt complex over the lives they've taken
and that's one of the biggest factors for them becoming a hero
they joined the good guys to get out of the assassin lifestyle
Also dancing?
like the widows were trained in ballet since it was the red room's cover
and cass dances as an escape
I think it's poetic
Also they both are the owners of their family's shared braincell
Cass is like Natasha but younger really
Hawkeye - Green Arrow
so I know at first glance this seems obvious
yk skilled archer or whatever
but I wasn't exactly for it at first
I'm not really Green Arrow's biggest fan
But I've recently been reading Mia's run as speedy
and despite the vast, and I mean vast, difference in her back story with Kate
Their mentors are very similar with their proteges
like Oliver is just so soft with mia and it's adorable
not to mention neither wanted a protege at first and then they go and basically adopt them
literally in oliver's case
Also Ollie's into pranking as much as Clint is
And admittedly Oliver is just as strongly attached to his family as Clint is
if we ignore the thing with roy because wtf Oliver
Runner ups:
Thor and Wonder Woman: mythology and their whole fish-out-of-water-ness in modern society
Thor and Captain Marvel: again mythology, lightning powers, and also their childlike nature (literally in Billy's case)
Black Widow and Black Canary: badasses that keep the men on their team in line. need I say more?
Iron Man and Green Arrow: only thing that got me is that Ollie's not nearly smart enough to go toe to toe with Tony
Vision and Martian Manhunter: they can pass through walls and they just don't get humans
Scarlett Witch and Zatanna/ Dr Strange and Constantine: I don't think this requires elaboration
Winter Soldier and Jason Todd: fallen hero presumed dead starts working for the bad guys before switching back to the good guys
Bonus:
Spiderman and Dick!Robin
they're bendy
they love puns
they love swinging in the air
they're smart
they give their mentors high blood pressure
everyone loves them
they have a lot of grief
they have a thing for really smart, badass red heads
Ball of sunshine with ridiculous anger issues
also I think a meeting between Dick and Peter would be a disaster in the best way possible

"No way, web-slinger."
-
When a high-tech weapon is stolen from one of Bruce Wayne's enterprises, the thief unleashes chaos by sending the Bat Family and the Justice League into a different universe-landing them in Queens, New York, but in a entirely different universe. Here, a young group of heroes, known as "Team Red" find them and send them the way to the Earth's mightiest heroes.
Soon, With introductions made and a few days passed, an alliance forms: Tony Stark, Bruce Wayne, Bruce Banner, Tim Drake, Peter Parker, Harley Keener, Ned Leeds, Shuri, and The Flash combine their genius to create a device that might send the lost heroes back home.
Meanwhile, Team Red has taken winter off from active hero work-despite Peter telling them that crime doesn't take a break because it's cold. As Spider-Man faces the city alone on patrol, the Bat Family steps in to help with the bigger crimes.
NightWing, bored with nothing to do, helps the vigilance spider with even the smallest of things...

"Really? Web-slinger? That's the best insult you could come up with?"

Marvel vs. DC - Amalgam
Marvel and DC, two of the most renowned comic book companies in the world, joined forces in 1996 to create the Amalgam Universe and the Versus lineup.
In video games, particularly in the fighting game genre, these comic book superheroes have crossed over with other franchises. Marvel characters, for example, have gone up against characters from Capcom—a video game company with an extensive catalog of titles. However, in their storyline, they often join forces to face a common enemy.
DC, on the other hand, clashed with the characters from Mortal Kombat, developed by the former Midway Games. Their narrative revolves around the two sides battling each other before ultimately uncovering the true cause of their conflict.
In the Versus miniseries, the storyline centers around two cosmic entities compelling the characters to fight one another, only for the heroes to eventually unite and stop the entities from destroying each other.
In the spirit of Amalgam Comics and my love for crossovers, I'm proposing the idea of a Marvel vs. DC fighting game that could be developed by Capcom.
It could have been an either/or situation—either Capcom or NetherRealm Studios—but since NetherRealm is still owned by Warner Bros., DC's current parent company, it wouldn't be a fair arrangement for Marvel characters.
I propose a roster of 27 characters for the fighting game. Capcom’s very first Marvel fighting game featured 13 playable characters, while Midway’s first DC fighting game included 23 playable characters, 11 of which were from DC.
Admittedly, this might seem ambitious, especially since Capcom’s recent releases typically feature 16–18 base characters. Adding 9–11 more might push the limits, but it’s necessary to ensure a balanced and diverse roster.
Here’s how the roster would break down: Marvel and DC would each have 10 characters, making up the core lineup. Five additional characters would come from the Amalgam Universe, paying homage to the classic crossover. The final two would be guest fighters—Ryu from Street Fighter and Liu Kang from Mortal Kombat—a nod to the first fighting game crossovers these characters were part of.
Let's start with the Amalgam characters:
Amazon - Princess Ororo of Themyscira (Amalgamation of Wonder Woman and Storm)
Nabu the Ancient One (Amalgamation of Nabu and the Ancient One)
Huntress (Amalgamation of DC's Huntress and Captain Marvel - Carol Danvers)
The White Witch Wanda Zatara (Amalgamation of Zatanna Zatara and Wanda Maximoff)
Catsai (Amalgamation of Catwoman and Elektra)
Marvel Characters:
Captain America - Steve Rogers
Thor - Thor Odinson
Captain Marvel - Carol Danvers
Storm - Ororo Munroe
Wolverine - James "Logan" Howlett
Magneto - Max Eisenhardt
Scarlet Witch - Wanda Maximoff
QuickSilver - Pietro Maximoff
Ironman - Tony Stark
Thanos
DC Characters:
Superman - Kal El, Clark Kent
Batman - Bruce Wayne
Wonder Woman - Princess Diana of Themyscira
The Flash - Barry Allen
Zatanna Zatara
Catwoman
Captain Marvel - Billy Batson
The Joker
Lex Luthor
Zodd
NPCs would be Deadpool and Harley Quinn
Any of these characters can replace anyone from the proposed roster or could be added as DLC:
Deadpool - Wade Wilson - Marvel Comics
Harley Quinn - Harleen Quinzel - DC Comics
Spider-man - Peter Parker/Miles Morales - Marvel Comics
Poison Ivy - Pamela Isley - DC Comics
Cyclops - Scott Summers - Marvel Comics
Mr. Fantastic - Reed Richards - Marvel Comics
Constantine - John Constantine - DC Comics
Dr. Fate - Nabu/Kent Nelson - DC Comics
Doctor Strange - Stephen Strange - Marvel Comics
Blue Beetle - Jaime Reyes - DC Comics
Human Torch - Jonathan Storm - Marvel Comics
Firestorm - Martin Stein & Ronnie Raymond - DC Comics
Martian Manhunter - J'onn J'onzz - DC Comics
Green Lantern - Any of the human green lanterns, I prefer Kyle Rayner - DC Comics

I think the Avengers were better than the Justice League, and I blame Stan Lee. Stan Lee was just an objectively better writer, and he gave his characters more interesting personalities. I read Stan Lee's first 10-20 Avengers comics a long time ago, and recently I read some of the first Justice League comics. It's no contest, honestly.
Thor has more interesting powers and speech patterns (plus a backstory involving him being a physician with a limp), Iron Man is just as rich as Batman, but he's far more tragic and sympathetic (the man's always on the brink of death because of his weak heart), Rick Jones feels more like a fully fleshed out character than Snapper Carr (although i like seeing Gardner Fox constantly trying to use 60s teen slang whenever he writes Snapper), etc.
And let's not touch on Hawkeye, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, Black Panther, Hank Pym, etc. All of those characters displayed more personality than Gardner Fox displays within his first 5-6 JLA Issues. This isn't to say the characters or the stories are awful, it's just me pointing out a potential flaw of some 60s DC comics: a lack of characterization.
