YEAH HE IS

Ranger marsh is THE FATHER OF ALL TIME to me because listen-

I live in Florida. Whenever they talk about manatees or red tide or the effects of a cold snap im like YOOO I KNOW ABOUT THAT!!!

I need yall to understand 🙏 hes part of the fcking ecosystem.

He understands the needs and behaviours and everything about the everglades and its creatures. He knows how to talk to them and they know him and love him. He chooses to go out and help right away with this " I gotcha dont worry about nothing!" attitude

Hes so connected with it and its beautiful-

Its just that sense of community hes got with all the creatures in the everglades that makes me 🥺 hes got such a kind heart and he seems like the person to choose to do something because someone has to yk?

Alot of people would be offput by all the bugs and heat and etc, but he just goes oh well and keeps going along and I think that is SO special

And im gonna be honest here. Alot of people ARENT. Like at all, and they do the dumbest sht

One time my dad and I were on a board walk near a river that had gators in it and there were signs about it too. We saw this??? Fcking guy in a whole business suit with his kid wanting to give a little gator fcking store bought chicken nuggets??? 💀🙏 we like kindly explain uhhh heyyy don't do that cuz u don't want gators to associate humans with food or (gestures broadly to all the many reasons u shouldn't feed wild animals)

And then we continued our walk, but when we turned back we fcking saw a mini crowd (with several small kids leaning THROUGH THE GAP in the railing) surrounding a guy with a kiddie fishing pole trying to??? Idk feed the gator the chicken nuggets.

There were signs about not disturbing the wildlife.

I didnt exaggerate a single aspect of this btw.

Like thank fck gators are ambush predators and not chasers cuz those guys can run and climb like nobody's business... and hide under cars

SIDE TANGEANT ASIDE alot of people just aren't in tune with and have like a totally unrealistic and detached from reality expectation of that kinda nature. But ranger marsh (i headcanon that his first name is Rover btw cuz not only is that a flooding guy name but cmon- RIVER MARSH?!!) Is always so patient about explaining that kind of stuff to the others in the show

Hes got an understanding and a system on how to handle things.

Also I do appreciate how he struggles with understanding technology and prefers old fashioned ways. Because while there are alot of folks like that, alot of people can be... very aggressive about it if u disagree with them :(

But ranger marsh, while he can't understand, he still does come around and appreciates it the best he can yk? Like sure he doesn't get WHY and he sucks at it, but he comes around and appreciates it, even if it isn't always for him

The awe he felt when the gup k went under water and he saw the world he loves from an entirely new angle? Oh my god my heart-

He would absolutely take in any stray creature that needs help, he feels like the kinda guy that would've tried to help a wild animal heal up in the garage when they were a kid and everyone else told him not to touch it 🥺

Also personal headcanon time:

I dont think this guy could keep a secret for the life of him. Like this guy doesn't even realize, he feels like the guy would would see something weird and then go " well ill be i never did see anythin as strange as that before" to a fcking bush or the sky

He sort just has this factual way of speaking that reminds me of people who go "well yeah well when ya go n talk her dont mention x and x cuz I'm pretty sure she's suspecting her boyfrens been cheatin on her and oh I wasn't supposed to share that was i."

Also I feel like maybe I'm just projecting and making him autistic but like??? Has a hard time dealing with change??? Likes being in the wild with a bunch of creatures??? Probably needs his "two hours of contemplating on the back porch" every day ????

Hes absolutely the type to want to dig in the mud for hours thank you, he absolutely went fck living a normal life in society I want to be friends with the animals under my porch

I desperately want him to basically go "hm ok ur staying here for tonight" to calico jack who is the equivalent of a (very kind and gentle) feral stray 🙏

Cuz likes its an old funky pirate cat with isolation issues thats probably scared of gators and Caimens for I lost me leg reasons and hasn't had like a normal meal in probably over a decade at least

(Cj probably can't handle dairy but he's gonna try (and fail) ranger marsh probably makes delicious mac n cheese)

also cj literally uses a peg leg that can NOT be good for his back, like there's so much special care needed if u have a proper prosthetic but a peg leg is like 💀🙏 so bad

I feel like CJ is this very kind and gentle soul, but the second he meets someone his age (cuz they ARE around the same age) he just becomes a wet gremlin, ill yap more about it on their dynamic post tho

As for the question of "ayyo whats up with ranger marshes wife or rather tweaks mom what's up with that"

I dont think tweaks mom died or anything, I think they just divorced when she was in like middle school and then he got her legos to try to help her feel better 😭

probably just cuz of personal differences... but yk some people can get kinda :| during divorces and stuff

I feel like they were probably high school sweethearts that got married before they even grew as people

It seems to me like tweak was probably homeschooling and definitely was skipping grades and whatever

I liek to think she has lego models of all her gups and that she had an emo phase in middle school 🙏 she still has the spirit in her soul but let's be real she's probably too busy elbows deep in an engine to upkeep that stuff anymore lol

(Ik we saw a younger tweak before in the show but like who says it wasn't at a different point in her life lol)

I dont think she was necessarily into emo specifically as a way to rebel her own parents btw (at least not her dad) but just because she liked the culture lol and was probably on my space as a teen

She 100% tried to take her dad to a monster truck show at least once and he absolutely did not understand the hype 😭 but tweak was inspired to take inspiration from the mix of animal designs and unique shapes into something more eco friendly and versatile tho

Like the gup k is just a wetland monster truck 🙏

She absolutely had years of trial and error with all sorts of gizmos that exploded at least a few times before she got the hang of engineering

Probably tried to make all sorts of things to help the little critters her pa took care of

Might be part of the reason he doesn't understand tech that well because when ur a kid without alot of money u gotta work with what u have and sometimes that doesn't always work out XD but hey restriction of choices can lead to alot of unique and creative solutions!

idk the exact reason why ranger marsh and his wife would've divorced,maybe it was just a difference in how they envisioned their life styles and the fact ranger marsh seems a bit too "introverted and quiet" for a more social life and environment with a normal job tbh

but the everglades have always been tweaks home and I doubt she wanted to leave. I think she still talks to her mom and stuff but just... not that much

I dont really think ranger marsh would've tried again in that type of relationship, hes too busy being busy with life and enjoying the small moments

He absolutely helped her keep her room organized and tidy as a kid tho, but look at her room into he octopod now XD

officially finished kcd 2 so now im gonna complete the younger hans and henry meeting fic and some art wips i have because my brain is overtaken by this game HOLY FUCK

(spoilers under cut but its just my rambling mentioning the ending and some plottwists really)

ive been a hansry truther since the first game in the sense that henry is sooo clearly a bisexual loser and so is hans. imo the two most logical choices for henry's romance are hans and theresa, who, in each of the games they're romancable in are the ones who henry has known and trusted longest. theresa in KCD 1 is his childhood friend, the one person who shares his survivors guilt and the memories of skalitz. while in KCD 2 hans is the one person who has been with henry throughout this whole thing and never really left his side (excluding the arguement at the start and the various kidnappings and being taken hostage)

like either way imo those are the most 'cannon' romances to henry and i really wish kcd 2 adressed the existence of theresa a bit. she's by far the most interesting woman in the franchise since warhorse does lowkey struggle to write women in a way that's logical. i mean the way every female around henry throws herself at him except his main LI's who all follow some version of the girlboss trope is... man come on. i actually do really like both rosa and katherine, but i think there could've been just a teensy bit more done with them

also like what the fuck is up with henry's mother. idk if her name or any personality being excluded is meant to be an artistic choice to show how henry remembers her as just 'mom' and ignores any other part of her character but like wtf. both radzig and martin get names, a backstory and a deep relationship with henry while his mother is just. there. i get that this is the 15th century but in the first game it's clear in the tutorial that hal and his mom are CLOSE like i wish we got to see a bit more of that tbh

i have words to say about samuel as a character but none of them are appropriate for tumblr so i will abstain. tldr i actually like him a lot henry getting a brother-butnotreally is actually really sweet. like despite the fact that he lost his family and everything dear to him there is still someone who cares about him in a familial way. i hope we'll het to see more of him in some of the upcoming dlcs although i doubt it since he can technically die during the game (and i'm pretty sure in a canon run you should leave him behind)

okay last point to the characters is one ive had since kcd 1 but THE NAMESSS WHY ARE THEY NAMED THATTT

hans capon is just a bit silly like jan ptáček could be a pronouncable name, not to mention there is SO many characters named jan already so even Jan Capon i could lowkey get behind more

also i do fully believe non czech speakers miss out on the game a bit, there are parts of bg dialogue that are in czech and add just a bit of humour and immersion to the game (like in taverns, markets or during henry's nightmare in suchdol where the skalitz/maleshov people hiss 'you killed us')

27. Craziest place they had sex?

Oh, oh, oh! I am going to answer this with something from one of my WIPs: Up a tree on Yavin IV.

So, in this particular WIP, they end up getting together on Yavin IV after working closely around the base and spending time together in the jungle. So much time that they have a particular tree they like to climb together for the view. And then for making out. And then for doing each other nasty styles. Which I don't imagine is that difficult of a thing for a lasat, but Kallus gets bonus points for being nearly 40 and boinking that far off the ground.

Of course, it's the craziest place because I wrote the scene before I really got into the gritty details of what Yavin IV is like in Legends, only to discover that they were getting down surrounded by a jungle full of INCREDIBLY SCARY CREATURES -- including piranha beetles that attack prey in swarms. How the hell Zeb can get it up in a scenario where they can be attacked by a swarm of carnivorous bugs at any moment is ... well, it's actually one of the reasons this story is currently a WIP. I love the whole scene and the whole idea of them wandering off for alone time together, but I keep thinking about these damn bugs. 😂😂😂

19. What was their biggest fight?

(I answered the first part of this one here but saved the alternate for this ask! 🥰)

Their biggest fight is about adopting children once they retire. It isn't a huge outright argument with shouting like they'd do in the rebellion, just Kallus brings it up one day (and it's been a long time coming, he's been thinking about it a lot, they're both so good with Jacen and there are so many kits who need a loving home) ... and Zeb just immediately, vehemently, shuts him down: absolutely the fuck not.

And it's like being slapped in the face, because they've gotten so much better at talking to each other. Yes, they still bicker, but the bickering leads to honest discussion and consensus and agreement on a course of action, so Zeb putting his foot down without even pretending they can discuss it is not their normal. It's also hurtful. And Kallus doesn't know what to do with that, actually, after this many years of their own brand of healthy communication, so he ends up just sitting on it. And sitting on it. And Zeb is doing New Republic Defense Force stuff, suddenly, and it's like he doesn't even want to be home with Kallus since he made the suggestion and what if Zeb actually doesn't? What if this is just how their relationship ends, at the crossroads where Kallus wants a family and Zeb doesn't?

It all comes out in messy ways, eventually. In ways where Kallus refuses to bicker about the normal stuff and Zeb spends more time away from home and the garden falls into disrepair and all the old grannies at the market who used to tease them both about their relationship are now just quiet and looking concerned until one day it finally, finally implodes. Still, no shouting. Just a flat assessment of the situation because Kallus has worked out why Zeb won't start a family with him and it's of course because of his past, his involvement with what happened on Lasan, and how Zeb must not actually trust him - how Zeb is right not to trust him even after all this time - how he's just been on Lira San living a life that isn't truly his after doing something so horrifically unforgivable - and it's time that he stops pretending, that he goes back to Coruscant maybe and tries to find the kind of life a man like him deserves after all the destruction he's wrought -

And Zeb has to kiss him to shut him up. It's an awful kiss, too. Desperate and urgent and tearful, quite possibly the worst kiss they've ever shared, it's like they don't even fit together anymore and nothing makes sense but Zeb is trying to pour everything into it, everything he hasn't said and everything he feels and all the fear, the visceral dread in his gut that started this whole awful fight.

Because Zeb wants to start a family together, he desperately does, but the thing that's been eating him this whole time isn't the role Kallus played on Lasan, but his own. His failures - his inability to protect his people - all coming down to the realization that he could very well fail again, except he wouldn't just lose Kallus but their children, too, and he already hauled himself back from the brink after losing so much once, he can't possibly do that again.

It's like uncovering a hidden wound, finally getting all this out of his head and into the mess that's accumulated between them from not talking, so it - so he - can finally begin to heal. And he slowly does. Zeb scales back his NRDF role to be home more, they repair the garden together, the old grannies at the market breathe a sigh of relief when Kallus is back shopping for the ingredients he needs for Zeb's favorite food, and their family gradually becomes something they can talk about - even bicker about - until they reach a consensus and agree to adopt their first child.

Firstly - where have I been? Work REALLY picked up in a way I wasn't expecting over the last...4 months? I was working double and often triple the hours I was used to. With work, vacations, random illnesses, and many video games I got a bit too obsessed with, this blog took a backseat. Plus, sometimes I get disinterested in vore when obsessed with something else. Sometimes, that lasts months, and it did this time.

But now I can confirm that work will FINALLY chill for a long period of time. I'm free! And more motivated than ever! Wahoo! Thanks for your support ALWAYS.

Next big question - when am I going to do more of my story? The one with Asyr? AHHHHHGHHGHH this story has consumed my life. I think about it daily. I dream about it. And yet I'm not as comfortable writing as I am drawing, so writing is a slow process that my perfectionist ass struggles with. I can assure you that there is a story in the works - and I am working on it at a snail's pace.

OMG IVE BEEN SO EXCITED FOR THIS ONE ASLKDJLKAJD

Ok so first I have to come out as a huge fan of the isekai genre,, especially when a character is "reincarnated" as the villain of the story

And I've always wanted to write my own version

Ok I'm gonna put the snippet first for context and then I'll yap about it lmao

It would have been funny if he weren’t so tired. And annoyed.

Perhaps it would have been funny if it happened to someone else.

Either way, there wasn’t much Edgar could do about it. If nothing had changed in the week since he’d arrived, he doubted much would change at all. 

He wasn’t usually so slow on the uptake, but he figured this once was fine. After all, not many people expect to wake up in a story after being hit by a car.

Compared to most of the stories he read, he probably got lucky. This story had a happy ending, after all. A classic royal adventure story, where the protagonist is adopted into an important family and faces trials as he attempts to become worthy of the crown. It had its flaws, but it wasn’t designed to be a particularly deep novel. More of a guilty pleasure story, where everything worked out and the villains got what they deserved, leaving the protagonist and his friends to live happily ever after.

Under different circumstances, maybe Edgar would have been alright. It wasn’t like he’d had much going for him anyway. A dead family and an office job that was just about as far from what he was passionate about as it could be, Edgar would be the first to say life just hadn’t worked out for him. It was fine, he supposed, but not what he’d wanted. 

So maybe this could have become a good thing. Another chance, or something like that. Plenty of people would do anything for another life, wouldn't they?

…Except for the fact that he was going to die. 

Rather brutally, in fact. Stabbed right through the heart– not exactly a fate he found himself looking forward to.

In the original novel, there were three major antagonists. The first, a girl by the name of Lucy Maud Montgomery. Of all three, she suffered the most misfortune, manipulated and scapegoated until she simply couldn’t take it anymore. The second, King Fitzgerald. A man who started off with a virtuous goal that later warped into a feverish desire for power. And the third, the one who stared back at him in the mirror– Allan Fitzgerald. A truly irredeemable man, who used both Lucy and the King for his own gain, and who single handedly orchestrated a war against the protagonist’s kingdom to get revenge on one man.

The story spent most of its time illustrating the path of the main character, which made sense. Unfortunately, that meant Edgar's own story wasn’t exactly clear. From what he’d been able to piece together over the past week, the story following the villains went like this:

King Fitzgerald adopted Allan Fitzgerald many years prior to the events of the novel. His wife, the queen, was incredibly sick. Bearing a child would have put her health in danger, or killed her outright, so they adopted. They chose a sickly child, one that would likely stay by himself and would avoid social events without making them seem like uncaring parents. 

In her defense, from what the novel suggested, the queen was a kind woman. She probably would have treated Allan better, if she could have. Unfortunately, she could rarely get up from her bed. The king, almost obsessively in love with her, adopted Allan to get the pressure off of their backs to produce an heir, but had no intention of raising him as a future king. Or raising him at all.

This was because of the Fukazawa family. A fairly recent neighboring family, who rose to power because of their possession of an artifact—one that granted the user eternal life and health. The family, however, refused to use the artifact, opting instead to protect it from people who would use it for evil. While eternal health seemed lovely in theory, to the family, it was unnatural and had to be avoided.

Obviously, King Fitzgerald disagreed.

He tried diplomatically asking for it, once. At King Fukazawa’s stern refusal, Fitzgerald decided the only way to get it would be through… less diplomatic means. He adopted Allan to bide time, hoping to get the artifact for his wife and be able to have a biological family to take the throne.

About a year before the events of the novel, the king adopted Lucy Montgomery. While she was given the Fitzgerald name officially, no one ever truly acknowledged her as a member of the royal family. This was because Fitzgerald adopted her with the intention of marrying her off immediately. The king hoped that with an engagement between Lucy and a member of the Fukazawa family, he would be close enough to steal the artifact from under their noses. A gross underestimation, but not exactly Edgar’s problem.

Allan Fitzgerald, however, hatched his own plots in the meantime. After overhearing Fitzgerald talk about the artifact, Allan decided he wanted it for himself, to make himself healthy again. At least, that was what the protagonist assumed he wanted. In reality, Allan wanted to get revenge on the first prince of the Fukazawa family, who insulted his intelligence six years before. Losing the artifact to an enemy kingdom would drag his reputation through the dirt, and Allan would finally have a satisfying resolution to his rivalry with the only person able to match (or exceed) his intellect.

Allan found immediate use in Lucy, slowly feeding her lies about the protagonist and causing her jealousy and anger to spike. The protagonist, who was also adopted, was showered with love that Lucy never got. Allan convinced her that if she killed him, Fitzgerald would finally see value in her, and after some time, she gave in. She was executed soon after, her attempt at an assassination gone horribly wrong, and neither the king nor Allan went to the execution.

With Lucy gone and the protagonist alive, Allan switched tactics, quickly convincing a mentally-decaying Fitzgerald to declare war on the Fukazawa kingdom. Unfortunately, the same prince that first insulted Allan all those years ago put together a plan to combine the forces of the Fukazawa kingdom and the Port alliance, despite the two’s prior disagreements, and together they defeat Fitzgerald’s forces. The former king is killed during the fight, and Allan is killed by the first prince, who revealed that he never bothered learning the man’s name.

So, all-in-all, Edgar wasn’t particularly keen to continue along that path.

So eventually (after Lucy is adopted) Edgar hears a commotion outside of his window and looks down and sees a few maids harassing her and that she's standing in front of something, trying to block it from the maid's view

Edgar basically remembers that Allan becomes a villain bc he sees Lucy as a means to get at Ranpo

So obviously he's like I should NOT interact with her. Keep me as far away from canon as possible.

Unfortunately he's got morals and the fact that she's young and doesn't deserve the awful things that happen to her makes him go down and stop it

Turns out Lucy was protecting a raccoon!! A baby raccoon that immediately latches onto Poe, and Lucy freaks out bc she thought "Allan" was a myth bc she never saw him, but he actually defended her!! And Poe is like shit.. that's my little sister now

So hes forced to be a part of the novel and decides he's gonna give Lucy a better life than she would have lived lmao

Unfortunately every time I try and determine a fixed plot this fic gets longer and longer, so I have a few scenes written out but there are SO many I haven't written that this ones gonna take a while 😭😭😭Im estimating 2035

what was your biggest pit of despair moment? This will sound a bit glib but honestly it was when Physician, Heal Thyself hit 10,000 words. I was like, oh god. This was just supposed to be a pwp how could this happen to meeeeeee

what have you learned? Honestly just to write what you want to read and fuck the consequences. When I started Something Like Magic I was convinced that no one would read it because there were only two mageshipping fics in the 25 year history of the English yugioh fandom before that and I made my peace with that. It ended up being a delightful surprise that people DID like it. Likewise, I'm now writing mostly mccoy-centric star trek porn, and that's because I would like to read it.

did you beta any fics? any faves you want to shout out? I had the distinct honor of betaing @illegalpaladin 's Take Me/Let Me Go and hope I have the chance to do so again for future fics of theirs. I know we're not mutuals so I hope this isn't too weird but I do also want to shout out the work of @muirmarie who understands Star Trek characters, and specifically Bones, in a way I've see very few other writers achieve.

-Bad Case of Loving You: Bones gangbang. When a parasite causes, ahem, tumescence in the away team, McCoy comes to the obvious solution on how to alleviate symptoms, and who is he to argue with Occam's Razor?

-Lay on Hands: the manhandling one. McCoy is the physician here, so why is it that he's always the one getting pushed around?

-You've Got the Touch!: real Spock possessive hours. A visiting Vulcan doctor is flirting relentlessly with McCoy. Spock is the only one to understand. Why he cares is a different matter.

-Debrief: everyone has a mirror!verse porn fic, right? After a rare diplomatic mission, Kirk employs Spock's assistance to recreate the mission for McCoy, so he can get an accurate mission report.

-Don't You Want to Come with Me?: a reversal of the odd man out McCoy fics. Kirk and Spock are together. McCoy loves them both and joins them frequently in bed on a strictly friends with benefits basis. Somehow McCoy is the only person satisfied with this.

I've also had this idea percolating around about bones medically prescribing, uh, himself as a sub to spock and jim who are in a relationship with each other but are both doms. so that will be fun to think about.

Today the worms are Connected they're connecting dots and doing a great job at it!

my non-fic worm is kinda branching off the first 1k i wrote for stwg's fic exchange, which then hopped skipped and jumped over into its own idea and now I'm enjoying my down time imagining the shenanigans of Robin sneaking Steve over post s4, like living in her bedroom hiding in the closet shenanigans cause his parents aren't back and the hospital had to discharge him to help other patients and she can't just leave him home alone that's a recipe for disaster so really she basically had no choice but to sneak him in through her ground-floor window with a duffel bag under her bed and steal a couple of her dads button down shirts because Steve's a dingus and didn't bring any even though any pullover is a pain in the back-and-tricep-roadrash right now.

so of course robins parents find out because stashing away a whole ass adult man in a bedroom for more than a day or so is actually pretty difficult even when he's not gravely injured. in my head they're pretty understanding after they get to cool down a bit, its not like steve was never around before and he'd always been polite, plus even if they still did think stobin were secretly dating, they're clearly not doing anything and the only reason Robin didn't just ask was because she wasn't going to take no for an answer.

And then on the actual wips front i had the brilliant why-didnt-i-think-of-this-sooner idea to pick a wip to work on based on what i was brainworming just for fun, which led me to my actual stobin wip and within like 20 minutes i had a couple epiphanies about the connective themes im exploring like realizing what i was putting together without realizing. (cut because oh god this got long fast)

Its ended up being a lot about gender, the imaginary wall between girls and guys in a friendship sense that feels solid just because you haven't had the proof that its not really there yet, the heteronormativity and amatonormativity driving a wedge between possible friendships. in this fic, robins really apprehensive about forming any kind of connection with steve because she's had the experience of guys only being interested in dating that she has a lot of mistrust around and m/f friendships that start forming (and ofc it ends with post starcourt platonic with a capital P soulmateisms 💕). i also have this little struggle where like if i can name multiple important theme-y words i fear ive got too many going on, so i was afraid this whole loneliness thing I've got for robin was going to conflict with the gender thing but i think ive got it sorted, they're different levels and their connected ideas, robins escape from loneliness means she has to break through her internal gender wall and let it be broken, plus the loneliness is going to be more explicit in the text because robins like fully aware of it while the gender stuff is probably going to stay mostly subtext and be much broader, popping up in steves pov area too and really all around them.

also had no clue how relevant it would be but steve and robin are like perfectly balanced blurred gender lines like steve is a masculine dude comfortable in his masculinity that also has a healthy relationship with his feminine trait, the hair stuff the babysitter/mom friend thing, he's not ashamed of any of it (and actually i had a longer post on Steve's gender balance somewhere in my drafts but we don't have time rn) and then robins like practically the same in her expression of femininity, she's as far as we see comfortably a girl, wears makeup, loved that movie about doomed love, she's got her feminine traits but also likes dabbling in masculine traits, she dresses more masc (tho its still a solid middle ground, comfort is a big focus), she likes ufos and creepy stuff and jokes about spider babies in hair. idk it just felt like they're a matching set as far as gender goes, if they did combine into one being they'd be bigender 100%

Hi can i ask who your saw guys are, so i can read your fic without watching? ❤️👀

Okay so here's a basic run down on my Saw Guys:

This ^ is Tits McGee, aka Mark Hoffman. He's a homicide detective, who's working undercover as the Jigsaw killer's (John Kramer) secret apprentice. Helping him set up his traps, kidnap his victims and overall just being a sneaky lil boy. His sister was murdered by her boyfriend at the time, and he only served 5 years for it, which obviously upset Hoffman quite a bit. So, he made his own trap, put the guy in it, killed him and tried to frame it as a Jigsaw murder (this is the iconic pendulum trap from the opening sequence of Saw V!). This got John Kramer's attention and he ended up accosting Hoffman and offering (via blackmail) to take him under his wing. Once John died in Saw III, Hoffman took over the mantle as Jigsaw and continued putting people in traps, many of which John designed before he died.

All you need to know about Hoffman is that he's the most ruthless of John's apprentices and I love him dearly, bastard that he is.

This deranged man ^ is Peter Strahm. He's a special agent who works for the FBI. He and his partner, Perez, are introduced in Saw IV to assist the police unit Hoffman's a part of in investigating the Jigsaw murders. A lot of things happen, a lot of people die, and Hoffman walks away as the only survivor. He tries to kill Strahm by placing him in an unwinnable trap (the water cube trap from Saw V), but Strahm miraculously survives, throwing a wrench in Hoffman's plans. Strahm is then very suspicious of Hoffman and investigates him, even after he's been kicked off the Jigsaw case. He slowly uncovers Hoffman's past/crimes, which leads to him following Hoffman into a murder maze beneath his house. This is where we get the iconic glass coffin trap (which is also where the ship name 'coffinshipping' comes from).

That's where this scene, which you will see in practically every piece of hoffstrahm fan media in existence, comes from. Basically, Strahm throws Hoffman into the coffin, thinking he's won and put him in one of Hoffman's own traps. That is until Hoffman pulls out the ultimate uno reverse card and it turns out the coffin is the only way to survive this particular trap. The coffin, with Hoffman safely inside it, lowers into a gap in the floor, while the walls of the locked room begin to close in. Strahm tries to escape but it's futile and he gets squished to a pulp while Hoffman watches on, smirking. You also see that while Strahm has been looking into Hoffman, Hoffman has been planting evidence to frame Strahm as the secret Jigsaw accomplice, putting him in a better spot than ever before.

The appeal of the ship largely comes from the cat and mouse dynamic the two of them have. Also, their mash of unhinged, violent personalities just makes for the best kind of conflict. They really only have very few scenes of the two of them interacting directly, but the amount of time they dedicate to obsessing and wondering about the other makes it so juicy.

My current hoffstrahm wip, 90s Killer, is a kind of 'what if?' type fic, where Strahm is suddenly transported back in time at the moment of his death in the crusher room. He meets a younger Hoffman, pre his sister, Angelina's, death. This version of Hoffman is quite different from the one Strahm met in the present day (though also similar in a lot of ways), and Strahm is trying to change the past to prevent Angelina's death and keep Hoffman from ever going down the Jigsaw path, and eventually killing Strahm in the future.

I'd personally recommend just watching all the hoffstrahm scenes on Youtube (they're pretty easy to find, esp since Strahm is only alive for 2 of the og 7 Saw movies). This will help give you an idea of their vibe both individually and together. Happy reading!

the reapers canonically do fall within different age groups, all have unique deaths which play into their designs somewhat, uhh liek sheepdog got drowned and he has a lot of blue in his design, rein froze to death and also. is blue.,,,, a surprising amt of blue in these bitches ?.

3. Describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic i was gonna say that its all over the place but that's like a lie i generally very solidly work from outward in. like depending on how long/complex the idea is i'll either start from the very broad strokes of figuring out the themes/character arcs of the whole piece & then go in deeper by coming up with scenes to decide how they get through each point of that arc, and after i know what Scenes im writing i'll write out the beats of a specific scene line by line with what happens. if there's ever dialogue or a conversation in a scene i'll write that out, sometimes nearly exactly but sometimes deeply stupidly. see: from my current wip

it's like deeply. i need to have everything i want to write written out before i go to actual prose so when i get to writing im not Floundering over figuring out what happens next and translating it into something that sounds good but my outlines do bring me joy from how silly they are next to very serious dialogue. like im not even saying whos saying what here i just Know

7. How do you choose which POV to write from? uh it's different every time. POV is a very fun thing for me when it comes to writing; i love working out the style of narration i'm going to use, the tense, the character & how that all fits into the story. so sometimes i just do it because i want to write in that character's voice--one example i can think of is my ze fic that's half from clover's pov because i want to write in the brain of a character i can justify thinking things like 'fuck me with a chainsaw'. the other times im thinking Intentionally about pov it's about how the information works. ie in sacred text on post-it notes i wanted to do sections about each pevensie sibling from the pov of a different sibling because i liked the interplay of information--ie, susan can say things about peter that he'd never admit himself, but she's also bringing her own biases and lack of info to it. that fic was actually going to have a whole second half set in england where i had different povs to further explore that sort of thing but. well. 10000 words already. a lesser vers. of that is the werewolf au where it started from peter because i needed to introduce the au from someone who knew what was going on, but then i had caspian because you gotta do the second part from someone who doesn't know whats going on to get it + you don't want to Know whats happening in peter as a wolfs head because like. he doesn't either. and then i went back to peter mostly for symmetry & the sweet sweet emotion of having to put your entire trust into someone you hardly know

20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc? i think i'd have to write more for some of this to really come out, but i pull intentionally a lot from my own life to write characters, so there's got to be lots of those basic jester themes, you know, characters who have facades, characters who are always really stressed on the inside and never letting it out, characters who are , well,all of narnia. on a smaller level im always stopping myself from saying how characters have unreadable expressions. or that they chuckle. love to say something is achingly familiar. i always go to fire first for metaphors theres always sparks in your veins fire in your gut etc etc. man this is such a funny question to get as im writing a fic giving peter pevensie all my evil feelings from high school

If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see? fucking. uhhhh. augh. okay well i feel weird saying this but i am a) an artist before a writer tbh and b) an artist who's much better at like, character design than imagining specific Scenes visually so very rarely to i write a fic and have images in mind for it outside of the aus ive come up with which i will draw so many things about. the main thing is its always important to draw characters hugging and kissing & interacting physically at least to me that is one visual bit that i do imagine in detail. but overall im always drawing something and going damn i wish there was a fic for this instead of the opposite. i'm like wracking my brain here for any moment thats specifically visual and i'd want to See. there's that one persona 5 fic i wrote where makoto & akechi meet while he's in prison; i feel like i wrote that one in a very cinematic mindset. but otherwise trying to imagine this is killing me cos im just enough of an artist to think well fuck i've got to think of a scene with strong visuals! something easy to translate into a good composition! but not the right type of artist to think of what. if anyone drew fanart for anything i wrote id fall on the floor and die of happiness on the spot tho

5. What’s a fic idea you’ve had that you will never write?

oooh hm. idk about Never, but ive been rotating the idea of Chalco and Aunor interacting bc the different ways they orbit around Ikora FASCINATE me, and the things that have been asked of them are very different. it would have to be epistolary i think and while i DO think i have enough primary sources to get their voices and values alright (letters from Aunor etc, and then WQCE my beloved), im not confident in my ability to do epistolary, & also i'd need something specific for them to argue about (that i also am interested enough in to litigate thru character POVs).

i've yet to decide if I'm accepting the TFS ending cutscene panel where Ikora is using strand, bc im suuuper ambivalent on Ikora using any darkness subclass- i need to re-listen to a bunch more post-campaign stuff to see how i feel about it, bc i know she talks to Mara a LOT in mission voicelines, and i think a lot of their past conflict has been over Mara's antipathy towards the Light & focus on balance over sheer faith in the Traveler (not religious Faith-faith, as we've talked abt before, bc i dont think Ikora sees the Traveler as a *god* like Zavala does- it's like gravity or thermodynamics its simply *true,* and can be explained. its not something that requires faith or sacrifice.)

but if i decide to accept that as canon then i think that would make a FASCINATING argument because Aunor has been Ikora's hunting dog for YEARS, cold-blooded killer putting down guardians who fall to darkness, and i think the sheer betrayal (from Aunor's POV) of Ikora changing her position on that would cause SUCH a crisis of faith for Aunor (what does that mean for what she's done in Ikora's name? what does that mean for how she can live with the weight of it?), and i think constrasting that with Chalco being Ikora's right-hand man (her silly rabbit / does she call you that / no) BUT without the blind loyalty that Petra has for Mara ("you are not the queen and i am NOT one of her cadre") could be sooo fun bc it wouldn't be a simple "Aunor mutiny Chalco loyal." i just dont know if Actually Writing it will provide more enrichment for me than just rotating the concept in my head.

anyway. that's the main one that i can think of, that isnt a "this scenario sounds hot BUT i dont want to write it bc there isnt enough character work to make the logistical nightmare of writing porn worth it" LMFAO

5-ish?

- Elsie&Amanda (nicknamed "horsegirl movie but its a robot with dysphoria") where Elsie needs help fixing some part of her body and she can't do it by herself for some reason and then has to deal with the fact that Amanda regards her body with a simple honest appreciation that Elsie will NEVER feel for herself bc of when and how she became an exo!!! her own mother calls her body a "walking lazaretto" and she watched her father die horribly for this technology!!! god!!!

- Ikora's fight with Madhir & how she let him eat her ability to want anything. god. Ikora Rey woman that you are. also inspired by the way the demon works in dunmeshi bc i think the Ahamkara should work more like that. fuck monkey's paw genie trick wishes, getting exactly what you wished for and in doing so losing part of Who You Are is so much better. the Ahamkara aren't evil tricksters they are PREDATORS they are the very tippy top of the food chain and as dunmeshi says. to eat is the sole privilege of the living. there is no moral weight to that no matter how violent and that makes the violence of it far more interesting!!!

- somewhere between 3 and 5 high-concept porn fics, 2 at WIP stage and several that may or may not get written, all Petra-centric bc i (and Jackie) love to put that dyke in situations (all have Mara/Petra/Sjur as a given established relationship, the two WIPs are focused on Mara/Petra and Petra/Sjur & the ones that may just stay as ideas have bonus Petra/Amrita(/other corsairs) & Petra(/Sjur)/Amanda)

15. How do you come up with titles for your fics/chapters?

song lyrics mostly!!! often the one i was listening to a lot while writing/thinking about it, or one that makes me feel like that post thats like "song that reminds me of my favorite character comes on and i make the most unwell expression known to man."

the problem is i want the vibe of the whole song to mostly fit which means i've recently become aware that i nearly exclusively listen to sad music, apparently, bc i could not find a Single Song i like that fit the very fluffy/conflict-free Amanda/Sloane fic i wrote recently, so instead its both a line from the fic and a bit of a pun on the content lol: follow-through (impact play)

Remus is dreaming. Or at least he thinks he is.

It’s the type of dream where he can feel the tips of his fingers and the weight on his chest and every single molar in his jaw. The type of dream where dread and horror and fear sit in his lungs and prevent him from drawing breath. 

He is buried alive. 

He can feel the rich fertile earth covering his body, taste the clay and silt in his mouth. Crawling, desperate, hungry things slither over his body. He can hear the sounds of their chewing in his ears and he wants to scream only if he opens his mouth that will let them in. His flesh rots, his eyeballs melt out of his skull. The skin around his lips turns wizened and desiccated, peeling back from his teeth like the pages of a book.

Remus is bones, is decay, the worms feed on his decomposition and snakes slither through the latticework of his sternum. He breathes, and his lungs fill with mushrooms and soft nesting things. Butterflies alight on his corpse and sip the sweetly soured decaying flesh. There is a buzzing in his mouth, a soft wet bumblebee struggling to get out.

He opens his mouth. Mud fills his throat. The bee ceases her noise and a giant black spider emerges, scuttling past his lips and into the forest. 

His parents are screaming his name, screaming for him. To run. To fight.

Fight it, fight it Remus, you have to fight it.

Remus opens his mouth. He opens his mouth and the spider escapes. He opens his mouth and the hungry things come pouring in, devouring him from the inside out. He opens his mouth and screams.

There is a bird who sits on a tower. With beady eyes so clever. Who sees the curling petal. Of every single flower.

A boy is staring at him. A boy with blue eyes and blue lips and blue, bruised, dead skin. His palms are stained and his body is bare, dehydrated and loose-limbed like a porcelain doll torn from its stand. He smiles at Remus with bloody, perfect teeth.

Gale takes a deep breath to compose himself, tucks the jagged angry edges of himself back to face inwards. “You said you would write.” 

He glances up at Bucky and it's the other man who averts his gaze this time, face paling. He sits down heavily across from Buck and rubs a hand across his mustache, still avoiding eye contact.

“I meant to.” He finally says then laughs sharp and bitter, “I musta put pen to paper a thousand times. But I- well. The words just wouldn’t come. Figured eventually I might as well drive out and fetch you back with me.” 

Gale's anger stutters and then goes out completely, leaving him hollow. Of course, of course he wasn't the only one with memories that nipped at his heels. And John, the man that he was, had decided to do something about it for the both of them. Who shouldered a sixteen hour drive because of course a letter wasn’t good enough, he’d already chased Buck into the heart of enemy territory, what were a few state lines?

“John Egan,” Buck drawls, “always to the rescue.” Bucky laughs, a genuine noise that sounds so foreign in the cold bare kitchen.

John was fake on the surface and all real underneath. Real bravery and real heart, a man who jumps on an armed German guard to save his friend. Who volunteered on the next mission out all because his friend had been shot down. And Gale, well he was just the opposite wasn't he? All real on the thin top layer and below that nothing much of substance. A good soldier, a good leader; good at being a man in all the ways that garnered approval and respect. He honed it to perfection, perfect responses full of bravado, not too harsh but not too intimate either. But below that…there was very little to behold. No matter how many times the other guys told him, he told himself, there would always be the fact that John faced down armed guards and Buck ran

Hypothermia where Alan gets out of the dark place and can finally sleep in peace surrounded by the people he loves ♥♥♥

ALL TIME FAVORITE is hard, but as of Right Now its alan/alice/barry and any permutation of those three ♥ i love them ;o;

the hannibalesque au... a martin/elias fic that was supposed to be my tma magnus opus, last time i opened it it was pushing 20k and quite literally only needed two scenes to be complete, but also thinking abt tma always puts me on such a sour mood and, while i love the ship, i couldn't care less about elias himself,,, still love the fic but god getting into the mindset to write it is hard to say the least Q_Q

id like to think characterization! and dialogue 🥰

larger plot...? thinking around specific scenes i wanna write sometimes gets tedious so i prefer writing snippets of stuff :/ also staying motivated on the thing 😔

if done right it can add flavor to the story! but its a hit or miss and when it misses it can be soooooo so bad Q_Q i dont believe you Need beta reads for fics but in this case you Gotta have someone that speaks the language available, and Please dont just translate words at random

oof. hard to say. but I'll go with:

Desperately Safe (tma, peter/salesa) what if a charismatic yet highly paranoid man and the misanthropic heir of the lonely found refuge in each other? and they were both sailors?

Recognition Through Fear (tma, martin/annabelle) in which the resident "spider monster" lady who was formerly arachnophobic shows signs that she never Actually stopped being scared of them, and the resident "fear buffet" guy who hates her guts (yet loves spiders) tries to make her life just a little bit easier by carefully picking the spiders integrated to her skull. a small moment of kindness in an otherwise unkind world u_u
