Also I want cringe, I want Kallus and Zeb to be so embarrassingly in love. They don't always have to be cool guy rebels.

Have Zeb going on a mission with the Ghost crew to somewhere cold, and Kallus has to stay behind, but he stayed up all night before they left knitting his alien boyfriend a sweater, saying something cheesy like "Now I get to keep you warm this time." And he like tried to knit a picture of the meteorite on the front too. And it just looks like a yellow shakey circle and the arms are a little uneven and the neck hole is a little too big bc Kallus did not know how to knit until last night. But through holo videos and a nice medic who had a pair of knitting needles he could borrow, he did it...kind of. And Zeb wears it the entire mission even if his fur would have been more than enough to keep him warm. Even if the kids, Kanan, and even Hera poke fun.

Or like have Zeb and Kallus in the Kitchen of the Ghost together, maybe Kallus is cooking, and Zeb is being a distraction by trying to dance with him or making a mess with flour. And someone walks in on them playing house and dancing to some old timey song with water boiling over in the background.

Or maybe a little tipsy Kallus convinces Sabine to tattoo a little stick and poke on his leg that is a heart with Zeb's name. Of course Zeb does the same when he sees it with "Sasha" in the heart.

Have them bringing each other up to people when the other isn't around. Be annoying and loving.

Imagine Kallus comes home after being asked to watch a neighbor's kits for a day, and his hair is full of little braids and bits of colored string.

He grumbles, but the moment Zeb teases and says he COULD easily remove the braids, Kallus immediately and emphatically refuses.

Even when they eventually DO need to be brushed out, he always insists on a bit of 'emotional support' string being tied back in by his biggest tiny fans.

Clone Wars AU except it's just my thinly veiled excuse to suggest:

Honor Guard Captain Garazeb Orrelios / (Rookie) Senate Guard Alexsandr Kallus TCW style antics

You know, protecting senators and royals, foiling enemy plots, hiding their romance, etc, etc -- all against the backdrop of war and politics, dramatically narrated at the beginning of each episode.

I think, idk, the Clone Wars would have to be dragging tf on for the timelines to coincide but I hope you all see the vision, here.

Like it's the tenth year of the Clone Wars, I don't know. Lasan has finally gotten dragged into things after remaining neutral for so long, probably for really boring political reasons (hyperspace lanes, it's always hyperspace lanes), and Garazeb is heading up security for the delegation on Coruscant, but keeps having issues with the Senate Guard for whatever reason.

Kallus is, idk what in this au, but it's ridiculous. He's physically incapable of being normal about things. All of his weird fervor for Imperial shit comes from somewhere and I'm picturing it being leveled at the elite/prestigious appointment of Senate Guard instead of the ISB. Like THIS is what he has a stick up his ass about in this scenario, it's probably really terrible and he's like barely old enough to grow his ridiculous muttonchops but he's also chomping at the bit to be an over-eager by-the-book NERD with literally every aspect of his career. He's that guy, you know? He's exhausting.

And Zeb, uh, Zeb hates him. ❤️

It's terrible. It's hilarious. Kallus looks absolutely stunning in blue and can work a dramatic cape like no one's business -- and Zeb fucking hates his ass. It's just on sight every single time with them for one kind of reason or another. Petty annoyances, similar career intensity, borderline obsession about each other, grudging mutual appreciation after one particularly harrowing bit of senatorial intrigue. Perhaps even, if I might suggest, a stranded together trope that draws them together as allies? ️🥺️

So, yeah, that's my pitch, I think they'd be amazing. I've been thinking about them a lot. 😌😌😌

Listened to Lie to Me by 5SOS so this ficlet was made.

Alexsandr Kallus, though his cold outward demeanor while he was an imp, fell too easily, fell too hard. It's been like this since he was just some dumb teenager in lower Coruscant. He wanted love, he wanted someone to love him as much as he loved them. He always gave everything to those he fell in love with, his body, mind, heart. Trusted them not to break it. But it always ended the same when he tells them how he feels.

"C'mon man, we're just having fun."

"Sorry Alex, just don't feel the same."

"This was just a fling."

"I like you but not like that."

"Don't be so clingy."

"How about you use that mouth to do something useful, instead of saying dumb shit like that."

Each rejection, some from people who led him to believe they had felt otherwise, helped him build a wall. Protect himself. Hide away from the things that seemed so scary, so painful. But then, when he was least expecting it, someone tore down that wall; Zeb.

And just like that, he found himself falling hopelessly in love with the Lasat. He gave up everything because the galaxy Zeb had sold him seemed so much better than what he was working for. Zeb had opened his eyes, and unintentionally his heart.

Now he was on Yavin 4, with new friends and a new life as a rebel. He is laying in bed with Zeb, having just having sex. They had been hooking up secretly the last few weeks but don't talk about it much, just finding themselves with opportune times to mess around.

Kallus lays his head on Zeb's chest, feeling so happy. He was in the arms of his favorite person, and with every interaction falling deeper in love. Without thinking he whispers. "I love you...."

Zeb goes tense momentarily and Kallus instantly regrets his words. Of course Zeb doesn't love him. Just because they are friends doesn't mean he would romantically be with someone who destroyed his people. They are at war, the sex was just to blow off some steam. Why was he so stupid, and clingy and pathetic? He can't bare to hear Zeb reject him now.

He whispers, voice cracking. 'I know that you don't...love me. But...for tonight can you lie to me? Please, Garazeb." He knows he sounds desperate but his heart isn't ready to have Zeb crush it.

He doesn't even realize a few tears had fallen until he feels a clawed finger gently wiping the from his face, while the other arm pulls him impossibly closer. Zeb gently whispers, "My sweet Sasha, why would I need to lie to you? I do love ya."

"But?" He chokes out in response, getting ready for some reason why it wouldn't work, why love isn't enough.

Zeb let's put a breathy laugh. "No, buts. Though, I am disappointed you beat me to saying it" He jokes.

Kallus feels a warmth fill his body, Zeb loves him, he found someone who doesn't just want to use him, instead he (Zeb) wants to give him the mutual love he never thought he would get, at least not in the romantic way. This only serves to make him fall deeper. He doesn't think he will ever stop finding new reasons to love Zeb, and he is happy about that. He lets out a content sign before snuggling into the fur covered man wrapped around him, threatening to never let go again.
