they couldn’t put this trap into the saw movie because it would’ve been too powerful for the queer community so they gave us the shotgun chair instead

Mark Hoffman x Receptionist male reader
Is the saw fandom still alive? I love saw it’s my favorite horror genre. Secret relationship, but fluff!
Tumblr media
Hidden In Plain Sight
It had been a few weeks since you started working at the police station as a receptionist. You were young, eager, and full of energy. Every day, you greeted officers, detectives, and visitors with a smile, always trying to keep things light despite the occasional tense atmosphere of the precinct. It was a far cry from the ordinary office job you'd once imagined, but it felt exhilarating to be in such a bustling environment, even if it was sometimes overwhelming.
Mark Hoffman, on the other hand, was the complete opposite. He was a seasoned detective known for his no-nonsense attitude and gruff demeanor. He often passed by your desk without a glance, his stern face always set in a permanent scowl. His coldness had earned him a reputation among the officers, and rumors ran rampant about his distaste for you, the new receptionist.
Everyone assumed that Mark hated you. He barely acknowledged your greetings, his gaze always focused elsewhere, and he never engaged in any casual conversation. But what no one knew was that Mark and you shared a secret—one that neither of you had any intention of revealing.
Behind the scenes, away from prying eyes, Mark and you were more than just colleagues. You were secretly dating, your relationship a quiet but intense flame that you both cherished in private. You'd stolen moments here and there in the office—sneaking into empty rooms, behind filing cabinets, or in the shadows of the dark hallways—exchanging kisses, stolen touches, and quiet words.
The truth was, Mark's cold exterior was just a shield he put up to protect himself. He didn’t want anyone to know about you, not yet, not while things were still fresh and untested. He had a hard time showing affection, and his gruffness often made it seem like he didn’t care at all. But with you, it was different.
Whenever the two of you shared a quiet moment, it felt like time slowed down. His hands would slip around your waist, pulling you close, his lips crashing against yours in a soft, possessive kiss that only you could feel. Your heart would race with excitement, and you’d smile against his lips, knowing this love was something nobody else could understand.
One afternoon, when the office was quieter than usual, you saw Mark standing near the door of the breakroom. You couldn’t help the smile that tugged at your lips as you glanced around. No one was watching.
You made your way over to him, your steps light and quick, and with one glance over your shoulder to ensure no one was around, you grabbed his hand and pulled him into the empty room nearby. His gruff expression softened for a moment before it became serious, but there was a certain hunger in his eyes.
Before either of you could speak, you closed the door behind you, pressing your body against his. He stiffened at first but then relaxed, his hands moving to your back. His lips brushed against yours in a slow, deliberate kiss. You felt the weight of the secrecy in the way he kissed you—desperate but controlled, a silent promise that this was something between the two of you that no one else could touch.
"You’re reckless," Mark muttered, his voice low as he broke the kiss. He was always so serious about everything, but there was an undeniable warmth when he looked at you.
"You like it," you teased, your hands resting on his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart.
He let out a soft grunt, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. "I do."
You laughed quietly, leaning in for another kiss. The world outside the room seemed to vanish whenever you were with him. You didn’t need anyone to understand, you didn’t need anyone to see. It was just you and Mark, caught in the moments of intimacy that you both carefully kept hidden from the rest of the world.
The door creaked open just as you were about to deepen the kiss, and you pulled away quickly, your heart racing. Mark’s stern expression returned instantly, and he gave you a quiet warning look. You both knew that if anyone caught you, the secret would be out, but for now, it was enough to savor these stolen moments.
You gave him one last smile before exiting the room, and Mark’s gaze followed you, a rare softness in his eyes. The others at the station still thought he was cold and distant, that he hated you, but none of them knew the truth. None of them knew that in his heart, he was yours, and you were his.
And for now, that was all that mattered.
THE END

ok but i need to talk about how hoffman went right for “jigsaw trap” when he was planning how to kill seth. not normal cop stuff like planting drugs in his car then conveniently having him mugged to death in prison or something. nah, bbygirl went straight for disemboweling his enemy with a pendulum. icon.
