Lila has no reason to sabotage Marinette because Marinette isn't threatening her little empire she wants to build. In fact, she really wants Marinette on her side BECAUSE she's not apart of the school, so she doesn't need to keep up an elaborate web of lies! She can just try to befriend a talented girl who makes AMAZING food and try to get freebies~

HOWEVER. this 100% has been done before but

cod restaurant au. they're loving their restaurant with a passion, they love their guests with a passion, and when something as gorgeous as you rocks in, how could they not celebrate?

soap is the waiter that's just a little too friendly and flirty, always a bit too touchy with pretty things like you, hands wherever they can reach without making it too obvious. definitely got in trouble with husbands (and wives) before.

gaz is the Barkeeper, always witty with a charming grin on his face, always showing off his latest tricks while making sure you get a drink "as perfect as yourself". does a straw taste and winks at you when he pushes the glass ober to you, he knows what he's doing.

ghost is a little harder to tell, but I think he'd be security. making sure no one gets into trouble, and if they do that they're escorted nice and quietly. definitely escorts you back to your car, whether you need it or not. how could he ever forgive himself if something happened, hm?

Price is the chef, making sure everything goes his way back there, making his rounds through the restaurant every now and then, especially when he sees you sitting out there. he's gotta make sure you enjoy his food before you can enjoy him, no?

Au where Steve was always able to talk to ghosts. He talks to his grandparents regularly, his granny thought him italian when he was little (I do love a italo-american Steve), and how to cook something easy when his parents started to go on longer work trips when he was thirteen. He watched old movies he found in the basement, and soon found out they were his grandpa's. After that, whole afternoons spent watching old westerns on the tv with Otis.

Steve being able to talk to Barb, telling her stories of what's happening, buying the books she wanted to buy but hadn't had the time to, reading them with her, let her cry and scream at the unfairness that was her death- she just wanted to have fun, to be seen and be with Nancy and-. He always cried with her, but rarely said anything. She needed someone to listen to her.

Steve screaming at the others that Eddie wasn't dead, he couldn't be, because he tried to contact him, and he couldn't and that has got to mean something . He would know, he would know, he would know, why don't they trust him?!

Steve deciding to go back to the Upside Down, and not finding Eddie's body. He knew it. But the smugness ended quickly, because if Eddie wasn't there, then where the fuck was he? What had happened?

He soon finds out when a creature with leathery wings and sharp teeths breaths down on the back of his neck, startling him from his panicked thoughts. "Stevie..."

this was probably the most amount of stress you’d been under in a very, very long time.

o.w.l.s were coming up, and it was safe to say that you were nervous.

you had been going bed to late after studying, and waking up early to study some more.

you didn’t mean too, but it was more then likely that you had been avoiding your boyfriend theo, as well.

you had been yet again studying, books thrown all over your desk, when you heard a knock at your door.

you were confused, not remembering any reason why someone would be at your dorm right now.

you opened the door, seeing an expectant theodore at the door.

the second you saw him, it all came flooding back to you.

you had made plans with theodore a while ago for this day, but clearly it had slipped your mind.

the minute you saw his excited eyes, you felt your own flood with tears.

you walked into his arms, collapsing into his chest and likely wetting the fabric with your eyes.

he rubbed your back, his brows furrowing with confusion by the sight of you crying suddenly.

he spoke.

“hey, hey— what’s wrong, baby?”

you sniffled, pulling away and meeting his cold eyes with your own teary ones.

you spoke.

“i’m sorry. i forgot— about our plans, i mean. i was studying, and, and—”

he held your face, kissing the bridge of your nose sweetly. he’d noticed your extra studying, and how you hadn’t really been responding to his texts much.

he thought it was better not to say anything for now, though.

he spoke.

“i know. it’s fine, okay? don’t cry, bella.”

you nodded, feeling his large hands wipe away the salty tears that slipped out of your eyes.

he led you inside, his hand pressed against the small of your back as he clicked the door shut behind him.

he subtly turned off the lamp at your desk, allowing your mind to be freed from any thoughts of the upcoming exams.

he laid down with you, allowing you to rant about all your worries for the exams to him.

he listened, planting sweet kisses on your face every time you got a bit too worked up.

soon, you grew tired in his arms. shifting your position, laying on top of him as he mumbled in your ear.

“gotta quit studying so much. i miss you, bellissima.”

you nodded, humming sleepily in acknowledgment at his words.

he played with your hair for a few minutes, before hearing you whisper in his ear.

you said, planting a soft kiss right on top of his jaw.
