How does being half human and half wyverian work for Ivan? He got any quirks/issues because he’s a hybrid of the two?

We were drawing from a couple of different places. Half-Wyverians do exist canonically but tend to be rare. But we were also making some interpretations of our own, namely in how Wyverians might have different bloodlines based on what their wyvern ancestor was. It might be easy to guess what Ivan would be related to, coming from Seliana. Something large, icy, and sabertoothed (Frostfang/Barioth) to be exact. So things like softer hair and longer canine teeth. He does only have four toes like a Wyverian, though he retains five fingers like a human, but they are capped in nails that have a habit of growing into short, dull claws if he doesn't trim them. He is larger in body size like many Wyverians have been throughout the series and more. And for our own shits and giggles, similar to how we think full Wyverians can, he can growl and purr, though he denies this fact vehemently.

It was his mother, Tserin, who was Wyverian. Giant Wyverian lady. His father, Ivar—alongside friends Björn (Sve) and Jesper (Den)—was a hunter from the original MH World storyline. So, one that was selected from the Old World to come and investigate the Elder's Crossing, Zorah Magdaros, and later on, Shara Ishvalda. Ivar's freaky hunter ass would meet Tserin over the course of several expeditions and fall for her hard. Somehow he would manage to sing her down from the mountains of the frigid Hoarfrost Reach and earn her love, and they would even marry. But Tserin would not live long past having Ivan...and unfortunately for him, he bears a striking resemblance to his late mother. That wombo combo made his father a little bitter. Okay, a lot bitter.

So being half-Wyverian is a huge insecurity/internal struggle for our talented hunter. He often feels like an outcast, mostly because of his father's behavior and enforced isolation after Tserin's death. Ivan grows his hair long to try and cover the way his keen ears come to points and he tries not to smile much for fear of his own fangs. He dislikes how much he stands out like a sore thumb for even just his towering height alone. Ivan keeps to himself as much as possible, both out of his own natural habits and because of how his father harshly trained him.
