after a life of running and living in fear of an impending doom, you and logan had finally managed to build a peaceful life together. deep in the woods sat a wooden cabin where the two of you spent most of your days.
during the week, logan worked down at the lumberyard while you taught ballet to a group of young girls downtown. your boyfriend didn't know much of your past, just that you were tested on and abused back in russia. he never pressured you to talk about the past, his wasn't any better either.
buried in the back of your closet hid a box of belongings from russia. there weren't many things you valued from that time there but you did manage to take some photos of the girls you were friends with, a few journal, and an old pager given to you by someone you no longer knew. her face was everywhere but she never bothered to reach out again after escaping the red room.
"i'll see you later, honey." logan whispered as he kissed your cheek then left the bedroom.
half asleep still, you mumble a goodbye before your head hit the pillow again for the next couple of hours. you didn't have a class today but instead planned on going to town and getting groceries for the week.
it's a little after one when you finally jump in the shower, listing all the things you needed to buy and what you wanted to make for dinner. while picking out an outfit, you hear a faint vibration. logan kept your toys under the bed so, you knew that wasn't where the noise was coming from.
it could be?
inside the box, you can see the familiar number flash. hesitantly, you walk over to the phone and dial. pacing back and forth on the wooden floor, waiting for an answer.
"эй, принцесса."
hey, princess
you knew that voice like the back of your hand but you still couldn't believe it.
"natalia." your accent came out thick and heavy. she should've expected you to be upset still.
it's been everywhere. the news of the sokovia accords and the freeing of the winter soldier. you were keeping up with the news but not too closely. it was irritating watching natasha get to play super hero with the likes of iron man and captain america when you knew the truth.
"can we talk? i need a favor." she sounded desperate.
"i don't think that's a good idea." you sigh, unable to come up with a good excuse.
"c'mon, for old times sake?"
you hesitate. of course you missed her, how could you not? despite the red room being the worst time of your life, natalia was the daylight that kept you going.
"you don't even know where i am."
"look out your kitchen window."
pulling back the curtain, there she stood on your porch. long red hair just like you remembered, a small suite case next to her and a pair of black sunglasses covering her eyes. you hang up the phone and grab a kitchen knife from the counter; moving closer to the door.
"how did you find me?" you squint, feeling somewhere between anger and impressed.
"an old friend owed me a favor." she shrugs. "i didn't picture you as a living among the trees type of girl. you know, it quite dangerous to live alone in the woods."
"i can take care of myself" you remind her before adding, "and i don't live alone."
natasha's face falls a little. if you didn't know her as well as you did, you never would've been able to tell. she had a million questions but wasn't sure if she wanted the answers.
"what was the favor you needed?" you ask, trying to change the subject.
"i need a place to lay low for a bit."
was it horrible that you had to remind yourself that you are with logan now? now you love logan more than anything but you would be lying if you said natasha didn't hold a special place in your heart still.
"no games, nat." you put on your best poker face, knowing she could see right through you.
"even though i do miss playing with you," her lips linger closely to yours. sharing the same air. "i promise, no games."
"good. there's a guest room inside."
the two of you enter the house again and you show her the extra room. it's not very decorated, simply and neat. natasha didn't mind, she was just thankful you hadn't tried to fight her once you saw her again.
"so, who's the lucky lady that managed to tie you down?" nat chuckles to herself as she unpacks her things.
"his name is logan." you answer nervously.
why were you nervous? you didn't owe her anything, especially after the way she left you.
natasha felt the knife in her chest twist at the news. not only had you moved on but you were sickly in love. maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all.
a car door slams shut, snapping both of you back into reality.
"i'll be back. there's towels under the sink if you want to take a shower." you linger in the door way, waiting for her to turn and catch a glimpse of you before you leave.
"thanks, принцесса."
she doesn't even look up at you.
⭒˚‧ ︵‿⭒ཐིཋྀ ཐིཋྀ⭒‿︵ ‧˚⭒
logan could smell trouble miles away. the blood soaked in her jacket. the faint smell of her sweat and your cherry perfume. he assumed you were in trouble, maybe someone broke in or lured you out of the house to attack you. within seconds, he was back in his truck to check up on you.
"hey, honey." you smile, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him into a kiss.
"hey... are you... are you alright?" he struggled to get out in between kisses.
"mhm, i was thinking we could go for a drive." you were talking too fast, trying to distract him from whatever was inside.
"what's going on, sweetheart?" one of his brows arched, waiting for the truth.
both of you climb into the truck but logan never starts the car. instead he listens to the rapid beating of your heart.
"there's something—someone, from my past that's inside. she needed a place to lay low for a little bit."
logan could tell by your lack of eye contact that there was something you were still hiding something about this friend of yours.
"I won't be upset." he saying lovingly, reaching for your hand.
"when i was in the red room, i worked closely with a woman that i also was in a relationship with at the time."
logan wasn't sure why you were nervous to tell him this? he knew you liked women as well and he wasn't threatened by it. sure, is it a bit odd that your ex was coming here to hide out? defintely but logan of all people should know what it's like to be in need of somewhere to hide out.
"it was more than just physical. she meant a lot to me until..." you debated on telling him more but still on the fence.
"until?" he tests the waters.
"dreykov sent me to budapest. she never looked for me." on the verge of tears, you bite down on your tongue. "it killed me because not only did she leave me but she abandoned all the other girls that were stuck in the red room."
logan pulls you into his chest, stroking your hair gently, letting you know that it's okay to cry. your brain didn't get the memo because nothing came out.
"you don't have to let her stay here if it's too much for you." he reminds you.
"i know. i'm just not sure if i can handle her leaving again."
"must've really loved her, huh, princess?"
you nod softly into his chest.
"i don't mind if she stays but if you don't want her too, that's fine too." he says. "just want you to be happy."
in times like these, it hits you just how lucky you are to be with someone like logan. someone so understanding and loving. he knew the pain you went through all those years ago and how deep the connection with the woman inside must be. you can't survive that level of abuse without something keeping you going. for you, that something was natasha.
⭒˚‧ ︵‿⭒ཐིཋྀ ཐིཋྀ⭒‿︵ ‧˚⭒
inside the house, natasha watched you and logan out in the car. slightly intimidated by your boyfriends stature and entirely jealous of his arms wrapped around you. she had to remind herself that you were practically a stranger to her now. so much has changed over the years and neither of you were the same girls from the red room anymore.
when she saw the two of you exiting the car, she rushed back into the guest room. in the tiny hallway, she noticed the picture frames on the wall. there's a photo of a group of young ballerinas and yourself. natasha wonders if that's how you keep yourself connected to your past life.
next to your picture is your boyfriend -whatever his name was- and some of his friends outside of a fancy looking school. natasha tried to pay little attention to it on her way back to the room.
ten minutes pass before there's a soft knock on the door.
"come in." natasha calls out, turning off the television.
from behind the door, you appear with a plate and a glass in your hands. the smile on her lips, drops the moment she sees him at your tail.
"thought you might be hungry." you explain, handing her the sandwich you made for her
"isn't that sweet of you to think of me," she teases, watching the way your cheeks flush with color at her words.
logan leans against the door frame while you sit on the bed with natasha. he watched as you completely bewitched the red headed woman in front of you. she was practically hanging onto every word you said. he couldn't blame her though, you have the same effect on him.
"you must be 'lucky logan' ?"natasha cocks her head at the man behind you.
"guess so." he smirks, admiring the doe eyes you give him.
"hm, and you're okay with me staying here?" she asks.
"that's not up to me." logan shrugs.
natasha's green eyes shift over to your face, waiting for you to say something.
"i want you here, nat." you admit.
her heart flutters in her chest. she knew she didn't deserve a second chance and would leave if you asked her too but god, was she grateful that you still wanted her to be here.
"i don't deserve you, принцесса." she says softly, finding it hard to mask her feelings anymore.
"shhh..." you tell her. "just get some rest."
natasha actually listens to you, finishing her sandwich and crawling under the soft comforter. you reach for the empty plate and she stops you before you could walk away; placing a soft kiss on the inside of your palm. the tiny gasp that left your mouth didn't sneak past either of them in the room. once she let you go, you and logan exit the room and go into your own shared bedroom.
logan watched you pace back and forth, wiping her kiss mark off on your blue jeans. it pulled at his heart strings to see you so torn by natasha's presence. tears fall down your face like rain.
"don't cry, sweetheart." logan says, wrapping his arms around you.
"i'm s-sorry, lo..." you apologize, upset at yourself for still harvesting these feelings towards natasha.
"for what?" he asks, lifting up your chin to look at him.
"i love you so much." you blurt out, too afraid to say what you really wanted to.
"i know. i love you too." he smiles, bending down to give you a quick kiss then adding, "and i know you love her too."
"it's not–"
"it's okay." he assures you. "i'm not upset."
"you aren't?" you question, prepared for him to storm out and want nothing to do with you ever again.
"no."
without thinking, you completely collapse into his arms, so thankful for the man in front of you.
"i don't deserve you, logan." you whisper, kissing him gently.
"don't say that." he says sternly. "i'm just trying to give you everything you want in life."
⭒˚‧ ︵‿⭒ཐིཋྀ ཐིཋྀ⭒‿︵ ‧˚⭒
hours later, natasha woke up. she could smell faint tobacco from somewhere in the house. it was enough to get her out of bed to see where it was coming from. in the living room, she found logan on the couch watching a western and smoking a cigar with his boots up on the coffee table. he didn't have to turn around to know that nat was there.
"she went to the grocery store to get something for dinner." he says nonchalantly answering the question in your head.
natasha hummed in response, keeping a distance from logan in case he decides to do something rash like fight her.
"you can sit down, you know?" he chuckles, blowing the smoke from his mouth. "i'm not gonna attack you or anything."
"i wouldn't blame you if you did." she remarks, picking the single chair in the living room to sit down at.
"the only way i would do that is if you decide to hurt her again." he states frankly, eyes glued to the television screen.
"i suppose that's fair; but i don't plan on it."
"good. she's practically a damn saint."
natasha smiles a little at his words.
"yeah, she is." she says. “i wish i hadn’t left her the way that i did but there wasn’t much choice in the matter.”
“why did you leave her there?”
“dreykov found out about us. he threatened to have her sold off somewhere to someone who would probably kill her or worse.” natasha’s voice was tiny for once. painfully reminding her of the past she tried to burry. “thought i made it easier by leaving. she doesn’t know it but i did try to go back for her. twice actually. once by myself and another time with my friend, clint. the first time, she didn’t recognize me. the second time, he ordered her to kill me. barely made it out alive."
logan remembered how after a couple of months dating, you opened up about your memory issues. constantly feeling like you were missing a piece of the puzzle that was your life from all the experiments. it’s one of the things that helped you two connect with each other.
“i’ve seen her kill with her bare hands. seen her tied to tables with needles injected into her until she was blue in the face and spitting up blood. she was one of his favorite’s. used to wake up to her screaming from the nightmares.”
“she still gets them sometimes.” logan mutters.
nastasha nods, wiping a tear away quickly.
“do you think she will ever forgive me?”
“i think so.”
“do you think i deserve it?”
“probably not,” he said honestly with a shrug. “but that’s not up to me.”
natasha appreciated his candor at least.
“she’s back.” logan said before she could even hear the car approaching.
logan got up to help you bring in the bags. once both of you are inside, you spot nat sitting in the living room awake.
"hey, whatcha doin’ awake already?” you ask.
"i haven’t been awake long.” she answers, getting up and joining you in the kitchen.
“i’m making pasta, hope that’s alright with you?”
“of course. want some help?”
you instruct her to boil the noodles while you prepare the sauce. the two of you stand close next to each other as nat watches over your shoulder.
"have you heard from yelena lately?" you ask, making small talk.
"no." nat's voice came out a whisper. "have you?"
"mhm." you hum, stirring the sauce. "she called a month ago, asked what i knew about these red vitals she was given."
"vitals?"
"yeah, i told her my memory isn't as good as it used to be."
natasha reaches over and lightly touches your ponytail, twirling the ends around her fingers to help ease you. that’s how she used to calm you down as teenagers, by playing with your hair. deep down you knew you shouldn’t look at her, not this close anyways. nat could smell your cherry perfume, over powering her senses. her plump lips tempted you, sending an ache down to your lower region. she watches you intensely, waiting for you to make a move and wanting you more than ever.
unbeknownst to either of you, logan knew what was going on. he could smell the need forming in your underwear, could practically hear natasha’s dirty thoughts about you. most boyfriends would feel threatened by this but logan was different. he worshipped the ground you walked on and he always valued your happiness. why would he deny you of the love you deserved?
"i-i'm gonna go grab some wine from the cellar." you stutter, leaving her there alone.
nat nods, walking back into the living room to breathe.
"you can kiss her, if she wants you too." logan says aloud, tapping off the end of his cigar on the ashtray next to him.
"you aren't just saying that so then you would have an excuse to try and kill me, are you?" she squints.
"she won't make the first move. too afraid that she'll hurt me." he replied, ignoring natasha's comment.
"you wouldn't care?" she questions.
"no."
"what if i wanted to do more than kiss her?"
"its up to her."
logan watches natasha's eyes cloud with lust at the thought. how could he fault her? you were the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen in all 200+ years of his life. plus he would be lying in he said that he wouldn't find it hot to see you and natasha going at it.
"hey, is red okay?" you ask, holding a bottle up as you rounded the corner.
both logan and nat looked at you with these hungry looking eyes like you were their prey. logan's nostrils flare a little at the sweet scent.
"r-reds fine." nat stutters, her throat was dry at the thought of being back in between your thighs.
"cool, i'll get the glasses."
as you turn to leave, logan calls after you, "can you bring me a beer, sweetheart?"
"of course" you nod, obediently.
when you return, the three of you sit and watch the western playing for a few minutes until logan huffs loudly, sick of this tension and neither of you two doing anything about it.
"are you two gonna kiss 'n make up already, or what?" logan teases.
natasha and you find each others blown out gaze. both of you needed this. needing closure.
"fuck it." natasha mumbles to herself, getting up and coming over to you.
the redhead straddles you on the couch, caressing your jaw in her delicate palm. you nod your head, letting her know that you wanted this as much as she did. from her first taste of you, she knew it would be impossible to pull away.
⭒˚‧ ︵‿⭒ཐིཋྀ ཐིཋྀ⭒‿︵ ‧˚⭒
nat chases your plump kiss bitten red lips, backing you up until your legs hit the edge of the bed. your hands are up her shirt and under her bra, squeezing the soft flesh of her tits. rubbing your thumb over the blooming bud and listening to her pretty moans against your lips. she lays you down and strips herself of her clothes. you rush to do the same, wiggling out of your jeans.
behind nat, you see logan walk in with his beer in his hand and take a seat across from you in the corner. knowing that he's watching sent shivers down your spine. it wasn't until natasha grabbed your chin and squished your cheeks together that you realized you had been staring at logan.
"it's not his turn, it's mine." she taunts.
you nod your head and babble out an apology. she removes her grip on you only to lay down in between your thighs. a sight that you missed dearly.
"natty, please don't tease." you whine, arching at the soft kisses she trails inside of your thighs and hip bones, avoiding where you needed her most.
she smiles at the fact that your already shaking with anticipation. surprisingly, she looks over at logan.
"keep her legs spread for me, would ya'?" she asks.
he nods, already hard in his blue jeans. logan joins you two on the bed, sitting behind you and letting you rest comfortable against his chest. he places your legs over his to keep you open for natasha. she groans, sucking a dark plum bruise on your hipbone. meanwhile, logan's leaving similar marks on your neck and along your shoulder.
"please." you whine, wiggling your hips in her face. both natasha and logan can smell your arousal in the air. it's intoxicating.
"patients, baby." she scolds before licking a fat stripe over your clothed cunt.
"w-wanna feel you nat."
without hesitation, natasha tears the lacy material from your body and spreads you open. it's been years since she had last seen you in this position. she needs a moment to capture your angelic imagine.
"there's my girl." nat says, talking to your cunt. completely ignoring you and logan like you two aren't even in the room.
"isn't she a fuckin sight?" logan finally speaks up.
right as you open your mouth to beg her to do something, anything, she leaning in again to lick from your entrance up to your button.
"missed this pussy, принцесса..." nat says sloppily into your folds. "so wet for me."
"uh-uh." you moan, throwing your head back.
logan turns your chin to capture your lips, letting you moan freely into his mouth while his hands come up to massage your tits. fingers pinching and rolling the stiff buds in his palms.
natasha spends a while making out with your cunt; taking her time to savor the honey that pours from inside of you. she pulls back for a second to spit on your mound, letting it drip down before inserting her middle and ring finger. hers weren't nearly as thick as logan's but they are longer and still feel perfect in their own way. she watches how you and logan move together while she pumps in and out of you. for once, she didn't feel jealous of logan for having you. instead it made her heart swell to know that someone else loves you just as much as she does.
despite all the pleasure you felt, selfishly you wanted more. your right hand moves to intertwine itself into nat's red locks, pulling her head back to where you needed her most. her tongue swirled circles over your swollen bud, teasing it playfully. her fingers move faster inside of you as she grinds her clothed cunt against the mattress, moaning against your folds.
"ya' feel good, sweetheart?" logan asks, placing a soft kiss on your hairline.
"sooo good, lo." you purr, gazing up at him with doe eyes.
his low chuckle makes you clench down had on natasha's fingers. all that can be heard in the room are low moans and wet squelching noises. nat kitten licks your button until you reach your first high of the night.
too caught in euphoria to control your legs wrapping around her neck, squeezing her head with your thighs. your loud moans were barely audible to her at this moment. the red head could die happily right here, right now.
carefully, she pulls off of you.
"you did so good for me, принцесса." she praises, stroking your thighs.
as soon as natasha sits up, you reach out and kiss her, tasting yourself on her plump maroon lips. she melts into the kiss making it easy for you to flip her over on her back. logan gets up again, unbuckling his belt as he watches the two of you grind on each other in messy, uncoordinated movements.
"wish you could fuck me like old times, nat." you mumble, kissing her chest and leaving little love bites behind.
"i-i could..." she hesitates.
already ahead of her, logan's rummaging through her backpack and hold up a familiar contraption.
"lookin' for this, red?" he smirks, tossing the strap-on onto the bed next to her.
the last time nat wanted either of you two think is that she just dropped by to fuck you and leave but what can she say? she's prepared for anything.
"is this alright with you, pretty girl?" she asks you in between lightly nibbling on your pulse point while you grind your cunt against the soft skin of her abs.
natasha pulls back to look at you. her hand cradles your jaw, waiting for your answer.
"i need it natty." you nod. "need you inside of me."
those words make her blue eyes turn a stormy dark grey. in a rush, she puts it on and lets you line yourself up to the silicone. despite all the time apart, the two of you fell back into a seamless rhythm together. one of her hands rests on your hip, helping you move up and down while the other paws at your chest, rolling the stiff bud.
"uh-fuck." you whine, throwing your head back when she angles her hips up with a sharp snap.
"that's the spot, huh?" she smirks, watching your pretty face scrunch up as you try and focus.
weakly, you nod your head and babble something incoherent to both hers and logan's ears. it's not the same feeling that logan gives you obviously but the way natasha's fucking up into you makes you feel just as good.
logan makes his way over to you, palming his boxer covered cock as he leans down to make out with you. willingly, giving in as his tongue explores your mouth messily with a hand in your hair. natasha uses this to her advantage, bringing her thumb up to your clit and circle it slowly in contrast to the jolts of her hips hitting yours. logan swallows every little moan that spills from your plump lips.
" 'm so close, natty." you whimper, tears in your waterline as logan's sucks on your pulse point.
"is that so, baby?" she mocks with a light roll of her hips.
"d-don't stop, please." you beg, bouncing faster to chase your high.
natasha and logan were both wishing that they could feel you clenching around them instead of the silicone.
logan's big rough hands help you bounce in rhythm as soon as he sees your movements slow down.
"c'mon, princess." logan groans in your ear. "we wanna see you fall apart for us."
"cum for us, sweet girl." natasha purrs, sitting up to suck on your tit and picking up speed with her thumb.
that's all it takes for you to release on top of nat, hips shaking violently while you leaked all over her lap. eyes screwed shut, stars coming into vision as you try to calm yourself down again. it just felt so good to feel the contrasts between her and logan when they fuck you.
carefully, logan picks you up off of natasha's strap. she takes it off and throws it aside, watching logan help you recover.
"don't ya' think natasha deserves something too for how good she's made you feel, princess?" logan asks you.
"mhm." you nod, crawling in between her legs. "wanna thank you properly, natty."
natasha thinks she might cum just from looking at your big doe eyes in between her thighs. you play flat on your stomach, kissing the plush soft skin. her hips wiggle impatiently in your face. the sweet smell of her arousal reminded you of all the other intimate moments the two of you have shared. within seconds, you're ripping off her lacy black panties and tossing them somewhere to the side of the bed.
"so fuckin' pretty 'n so wet." you mumble to yourself as you pull her fold apart, watching her slick drip from her entrance. "is this all for me?"
"o-only for you, baby." she says with a shaky breath.
you lean forward licking a strip from her entrance to her button. your hands wrap under her thighs and pull her tight against your face, letting her use you however she wanted. natasha grinds down on your tongue, moaning when your nose occasionally bumping her clit. she taste sweeter than any other times you've buried your tongue inside of her.
"love how good your tongue feels, baby." she moans, brushing your hair out of your face.
mind fully focused on nat that you don't even register logan shifting around behind you, running his tip up and down your pussy. lightly slapping your clit before thrusting inside of you. his cock stretches you deliciously, making you moan against natasha's cunt. her fingers pulls a bit at your hair from the vibrations. it's always a struggle to get him to fit inside of you.
"tightest pussy in the fuckin' world, i swear." he mumbles to himself, watching you swallow him whole.
logan's thrusts start to increase as he paws at the flesh of your ass. his tip kisses your cervix repeatedly, making it hard for you to keep your mouth around nat. your forehead pressed against her thigh while you try to concentrate, licking your fingers and inserting them into natasha's tight warm cunt.
"fuck!" nat moans, clenching around your two fingers as they reach that spongey spot deep inside of her. "faster, принцесса. wanna cum for you."
her dirty words sent you into a frenzy. using all of your strength left to make her gush. the noises were so lewd it made your head spin. her back arches and soft moans fall from her lips as she tugs on your hair. like a faucet, she's leaking all over your hand, your face, and down on yours and logan's shared sheets.
behind you, logan is too busy trying not to cum inside of you too soon. he's gripping your hips so hard you know that there will be bruising left behind. every now and then you can hear him grunting and smack the fat of your ass, watching as it bounces back at him. the pleasure builds in your tummy. logan's hand snakes under you to rub at your clit.
"f-faster, lo." you whimper, lifting your mouth off of natasha for a second.
"i gotcha, princess." he groans, doing so.
within seconds, you release all over him. the string of moans vibrate against nat's core, overstimulating her until she cums again, soaking your face entirely. logan doesn't last much longer either. he paints your walls white and keeps you stuffed with his cum, only pulling out when it starts to sting a little.
the three of you are quiet for a moment, needing time to recover. who would've thought that two russia assassins and a mutant would need time to recover from anything, let alone sex.
logan's the first to move, going to bring towels and some water. you rest your head on natasha's stomach, she runs her nails against your scalp the same way she would when you woke up from nightmares. a tear rolls down your cheek, thinking about her running away again.
"what's wrong, принцесса?" she whispers, hearing you soft cry.
"just dreading you leaving again." you mutter, afraid to look up at her.
"hey, i'll be here as long as you want me here." she says, lifting your chin up.
"tasha, someone needs to save those girls. dreykov won't stop until someone comes after him."
there's a long pause of silence before she says anything again. her eyes glued to the ceiling, trying not to cry.
"you know, i used to picture a simple life for the two of us. something similar to this actually, minus the grumpy looking man in the kitchen. i wanted to give you a piece of normalcy but i kept running away, afraid i was the one putting you in harms way." she sighs shakily. "i shouldn't have ran. i should've come back. there's so much i couldn't give you but i see that logan can do that for you."
"look, i love logan more than anything but why can't we make it work too?" your question makes both natasha and logan pause, as he returns into the bedroom.
natasha looks up at logan, ready for him to finally yell and kick her out. especially now that she's coming between the two of you. instead he's looking over at you with a spark of love in his gaze.
"i don't think logan would appreciate sharing you full time." she says, avoiding your wide eyed stare.
"i just want my girl to be happy." he responds, lighting another cigar. "think she would be happier with both of us, red."
the time has never been right for you and natasha but who says it needs to be? she's finally back in your life again and you can't risk letting her go again.
"we will help you track down yelena and fight with you to free those girls from the redroom but i want you here with us, natty. please don't go again."
she finally looks down at you and her heart melts. how would she be able to leave you again? not after today. this is where her heart lied, here with you.
"of course, i'll stay принцесса."

[ID: A photograph of Polk the marmalade tabby, sitting on the padded top ledge of my baker’s rack next to her favorite poster in the world. The poster is slightly smaller than she is and should read “Chicken & Waffles” but because Graphic Design Is Someone’s Passion it reads “& Chicken Waffles”.]
A very happy Thanksgiving (and/or Thursday) from madam Chicken Waffles here.
It is a holiday so I’m taking the day off from NaClYoHo, and anyway I’ve got several irons in the fire -- I’ve set out the craft bins that need sorting, the new kitchen hutch that needs assembling is waiting for me in the building office which won’t be open again until Saturday, and I’ve got an inquiry into Miroir, the company that made my digital projector, about buying a new remote (I lost mine and they don’t sell it....anywhere, it appears). Today I’m resting, though I am meditating a bit on cleaning, ADHD, and medication, since I remarked in October that it should be very interesting to try NaClYoHo while a) aware I have ADHD and b) medicated for the first time.
The difference isn’t as profound in this case as it is in some areas, but I’m definitely noticing shifts in behavior. It mostly has to do with how I tackle what needs to be done, because the medication allows me to do more physically -- it improves the basic executive function, so I can think about doing something and then just do it instead of thinking about it and feeling too exhausted by the very idea of acting on it to achieve anything. But it doesn’t like...it doesn’t make the initial act of Having My Shit Together any easier.
It’s difficult to vocalize, but I still need to remember to do stuff. Adderall doesn’t seem to particularly help my memory, and now that I’m capable of doing a thing when I think about it, I need to think about it, think about the five things that need doing after it, write those down, THEN do the thing. For example, I am capable of unboxing a side table, assembling it, placing it, photographing it, and cleaning up after myself, including putting away all the tools and throwing out the trash left behind. But most of those are discrete actions: my brain doesn’t consider “unbox” “assemble” and “clean up” to be subtasks of a singular “end table” line item. So I got the table unboxed and assembled and took a photo and then just wandered off, leaving my tools lying around, not because I couldn’t clean them up but because I didn’t remember I needed to.
If I’m going to the kitchen to get a snack, I can think of a handful of other things I need to do in the kitchen, but once I’m there I don’t necessarily hold onto them because I’m super focused on getting the snack. So a year ago I would have just...gone to the kitchen, eaten a snack, and gone away, no to-do list required, but I would have left a bunch of things not done because I didn’t think of doing them or have the energy to if I did. Now, before going to the kitchen, I’ll make a list -- get a snack, refill mug, wash dishes in sink, take knife sharpener with you when you leave so you can sharpen the scissors in your work desk drawer. (I am sharpening EVERYTHING, this knife sharpener is GREAT.)
I’m doing more stuff, but I need more intensive organizational skills because of it, since now there’s more to remember as well. I’m getting more done but it feels like I’m getting less done, somehow, because I have to document things most people don’t have to document, like “refill your mug when you go to the kitchen.” That shouldn’t have to be on the to-do list, but I have five things to do in the kitchen, and my upper limit of things to remember is three.
I do just “see something and do it” a lot more -- like my carpet pad arrived separately from the carpet, and I put it in the hallway to deal with later, and then I saw it later and rather than saying to myself “Oh yeah, I need to do that” repeatedly over the next few days until it became part of the landscape, I just picked it up and did it in the moment. But what was I on my way to do when I decided to unwrap and install the carpet pad? In this case I was just on the phone with my parents so nothing got lost, exactly, but if I’d been passing it on my way to put my coat on to go out the door...you can see the issues this might cause.
It’s like I was stage managing, say, a one-act play with two real assholes in it. Difficult, but ultimately there were still only two people to keep track of. Now I’m stage-managing a musical, where nobody’s an asshole and I have two assistants but there is an entire chorus line to manage. Way more people doing much more complicated things. There’s just more you gotta write down.
Like, for instance, now that I’ve written this, I can check “Post about cleaning -> ADHD, Adderall (stage manager allegory)” off my to-do list. So that’s nice.

I hummed my little tune as I sat on the small round beige leather ottoman atop of the black and white patterned rug. My bare feet tucked up under myself to protect them from the cold concrete floor of the basement I called my home. My little grey dresses around me snugly with my black cardigan over me to keep out the chill buttoned up tightly across my chest. My hair sat perfectly fresh from its rollers and the half a bottle of hairspray that coated my curls. I had folded my ironing board on its lowest setting so it was at the perfect height for me sitting on the ottoman, the small basket of laundry to my left side and the table to my right. I picked up one of Benny's textured green button-downs fresh from the dryer and left it to cool I laid it out on my board doing the back first as it's the most amount of fabric spritzing it with my iron first to dampen the fabric before running my little iron over it removing every crease and crinkle, I did the back, sleeves, collar, and noticed he was missing a button again so I sighed folding it up and setting it on my pile to repair once I was done ironing.
"I don't know what you do Benjamin I really don't" I pouted as I moved on to one of his smaller cotton t-shirts
"Hum?" He asks, having not been paying the slightest bit of attention. Sat up the dining table or well the chess table as I fail to recall the last time we ate dinner on it. Chess board before him, notes perfectly parallel to his board pen atop the pad. His clock somewhere I didn't know his small coffee cup in hand having himself a sip of the coffee that was now likely cold as I made it for him an hour ago. He too had moved his bare feet away from the cold concrete floor, his jeans hugging him close his belt and knife somewhere else likely wrapped around our bedpost, his grey slightly silver striped button down around him the few higher buttons undone two because he wanted them to be and one of them because it has actually come off. He wouldn't let me fix it. His hair was loose and messy from his shower this morning it is now mostly dry in that fresh fluffy state.
"I don't know how you do it. You get thought buttons almost once a month" I complained as I worked
"Am I?"
"Yes," I laughed "what on earth are you doing? Ripping your shirts off?"
"Well if the damage is from ripping my shirts off I'm not completely to blame" he smirked leaning his elbow on the table, his hand on his chin. I gave him a glare and he only smirked back "am I my little flittermouse?"
"But mostly you"
"I don't deny it's mostly ripping and throwing my shirts around but I want you to admit you are also at fault"
"Why? What purpose would that solve?" I asked folding his shirt
"A boast to my ego" he shrugs
"You get quiet enough of those benny," I said grabbing the next shirt
"Umm yes I do" he winked
"I'm holding an iron and your favourite shirt. You wanna try this?" I warn
"Fine. Grumpy like flittermouse today" he says proceeding with his chess
"Why did I buy you that dictionary?" I rolled my eyes as I ironed
"You wanted me to expand my vocabulary"
"Yes to stop you using the word good in every sentence"
"And I leant lots of fun words. Especially once that reminds me of my darling little y/n"
"But flittermouse?"
"It suits you" he shrugs
"Ohhh, go play chess benny"
"I will" he smiled, continuing with his game so I continued on with my ironing until he spoke up again "y/n?"
"Yes?" I asked folding his jeans
"You're my little flittermouse"
"I know” I rolled my eyes
"But what am I?"
"Your benny." I answered "or Benjamin when I want to bug you or let you know you're in trouble"
"Really? I'm just benny? You don't think or refer to me as anything else?"
"Like what?"
"Like… do you ever sit and think, 'i hope my sweet honeybun is okay so far away' or that stupid little sugarplum I love so much' or 'your darling'? Perhaps"
"I refer to you as benny."
"You don't have a fun pet name for me?"
"My idiot?"
"Ohh. I kinda hope you called me something cute too"
"Did you want me to?"
"....maybe" he answered sheepishly
"Well, I have a few ideas" I smiled as I finished my ironing and put down my board so I hopped to the sofa and opened my arms, he needed no further instruction as he quickly scampered from his chair to the sofa nuzzling his head into my chest for a cuddle nuzzling his cold nose into my cardigan wrapping his arms around me as of I was a floating device and he was lost at sea in the freezing cold.
"Ummmm" he sighed happily
"Happy boy?"
"Ummm humm" he mumbled against me
"You wanna hear my ideas?"
"I would like to yes"
"Well I often call you my idiot"
"I'm well aware"
"Sometimes I call you my little snuggle bug"
"Awww you do?" He asks slightly picking his head up
"I do. Sometimes when you’re away for days I lay in bed thinking I hope my snuggle bug is nice and warm"
"Awww but why snuggle bug?'
".... Do I need to explain?' I asked looking at his current state
"Fair enough. I just like to snuggle"
"I know you do. It's sweet. My sweet benny likes to snuggle" I smiled
"Any other ones you use for me?"
"Well, I sometimes call you…"
"Ummm?"
"Thumper"
"Thu- Thumper!" He complained sitting up more so he could see my face "thumper! Why do you call me thumper!'
"You remind me of him"
"Remind you- in what way do I remind you of the rabbit from Bambi?"
"... I can't really explain it benny"
"Tell me"
"Fine" I giggled sitting comfortably and opening my arms "Come on"
he smiled and came for a cuddle I made sure he laid on his back so his head was in my lap looking up at me "Hi"
"Hi" I smiled humming my sweet little tune as I softly pet his hair he smiled nuzzling close and comfy with me every so often I'd find a little spot on his head that made his leg move a little I continued every so often intentionally making him do it and singing the little song "la..la...la lalaallaa" I sang making his leg bounce uncontrollably and he suddenly realized
"..... fair enough" He sighed realizing the situation he was in
"My little thumper" I giggled petting his hair
"I am not happy with this" he pouts
"Benjamin" I giggled playing with his hair
"Ummmmmmmmmmmm fine" he smiled nuzzling close

So my partner @ekwolfwood got me into Dragon Age Inquisition
I warned you I would become something terrible
SO HERE HAVE A FICLET FROM THE FOUR HERALDS AU IN WHICH TIME MAGIC FUCKERY HAS CAUSED THERE TO BE FOUR HERALDS OF ANDRASTE INSTEAD OF ONE
(It’s fine they unionized early the plot relevant parts are in progress)
Today’s bullshit featuring the talents of:
Corin Cadash - Carta blacksmith sent to the Conclave because the actual smuggler and spy got sick and literally no one else was available, as discrete and stealthy as a bag of loose bells (they/them Problem On Purpose )
Lluciano Lavellan - Dalish rogue and spy sent to the Conclave because in his heart he is a fucking golden retriever and outsiders are suckers for his big puppy eyes (he/him omnisexual disaster)
(Do you see the pattern? Good cuz the other two are Tavi Adaar and Séamus Trevelyan)
——————
Herbs
No one had specifically mentioned what species the healer in Redcliffe was, and Cadash hadn’t expected it to matter this far into the chaos.
The exhausted elf tucking herself back into a corner did not agree. Lavellan did most of the talking, since he was the nice one.
He’d had a bug in his ass since someone had mentioned needing a healer down at the crossroads, and someone else mentioned there was one here, in Redcliffe.
One healer for two settlements was a guaranteed shit show either way, but at least Redcliffe was still tucked in the woods. And apparently not treating one of their most valuable citizens well.
“Look, I don’t care,” the healer finally cut Lluciano off, raising a hand. “The people here barely tolerate me as it is, and that only because their human healer is dead. I’m not looking for a new place to be called a knife-ear.”
Lavellan’s earnest, hopeful smile crumpled almost at once, and Cadash was just glad they hadn’t brought Solas along for this trip. He always seemed to know just what to say to upset vulnerable elves.
They’d heard the derogatory words humans used for elves, dwarves, qunari for as long as they’d known humans. Hell, the Inquisition was the longest they’d gone in their life without hearing most of them.
Lavellan though… well, Lluciano Lavellan hadn’t had much to do with humans until he’d been sent to spy on the Conclave. The fact that even he clearly knew the word was… telling.
“Look,” Corin cut in, stepping forward neatly to dodge Cassandra reaching for their shoulder. Probably specifically to prevent this.
They might not be the most tactful member of the Inquisition, but sometimes straight talk helped.
“Times are shit and you’re a healer. No matter what blood you’ve got in you, it’s worth more than gold right now. You’re under personal protection of the Heralds and if anyone says one word to you at the crossroads, I’ll walk you to Haven myself and let them remember how well their bullshit treats their wounds.”
As far as they were concerned, anyone stupid enough to buy into any of this speciesist crap deserved whatever joys it brought them.
Cassandra subsided back, her lips pressed together in a tight line. The elven healer didn’t look convinced either, though something like a smile danced on her lips.
Lavellan stepped forward again, his hand coming up to hover between them, an offer for her to reach out.
“These are strange times,” he agreed with a slight nod to Corin, “but there is a lot all of us can do to help. I know I’ve been hearing it less than I thought I would. Perhaps this is how we change things?”
The healer hesitated for a moment longer, her gaze flicking from Lavellan to Cassandra, to Cadash and to the Iron Bull. Always back to Lluciano.
Finally she sighed and nodded, glancing around the small house.
“Alright. I suppose I’ll be safer with the Inquisition soldiers around than I am here anyway. But there are some things I’ll need first, for my patients here. I can’t just leave them,” she added, sounding almost bitter.
A damn good healer then. Cadash nodded as Lavellan happily stepped back, all adorable and flushed with success.
“Sure. What do you need?” They could probably find it while she packed, solve the whole thing, bring the healer to the crossroads themselves on their way back to Haven.
It’d give Corin a chance to impress their personal opinion on Corporal Vale. While dropping off some of the other supplies they’d grabbed. Carrot and stick and all.
“Just some herbs,” the healer explained, already turning to the shelf behind her to pick through what she could carry, “elfroot and spindleweed.”
And it meant she just so happened to be looking the other way when Lavellan lit up like a little sunbeam, practically bouncing on the spot in excitement.
And all four of his companions groaning loudly, though the noise grabbed her attention at once.
“I can help!” Lluciano told the now puzzled healer enthusiastically, already digging into his pack.
Varric sighed heavily and leaned back against the wall. Unlike Cadash, he didn’t always bother pushing through the taller people. He didn’t need to to be heard.
“Lavellan picked every elfroot in the Hinterlands on our way here,” he explained dryly while Lavellan pushed his pack into Iron Bull’s hands so he could root in to the shoulder.
How the damn herbs slipped from the top when he’d been grabbing them half an hour ago at most was beyond Cadash. But Lavellan did like when the Iron Bull flexed his muscles.
The healer looked like she was torn between laughing and shock, her mouth opening and closing until she finally settled into a startled laugh when Lluciano dropped double fistfuls of herbs into her arms.
“Is that all? Are there any other herbs you’ll need?” He asked hopefully, looking for all the world like an excited puppy.
The poor healer just stared at him for a moment, her mouth opening and closing.
By the door, Varric snickered.
“We’ve travelled from the Storm Coast to Val Royeaux, and the Herald’s picked every damn plant that even might be useful. Anything you need is in that bag,” he added with a nod to the Iron Bull.
“And the other one hauling every damn scrap of iron and serpentstone out of the rocks,” Iron Bull grumbled good naturedly, because he was a traitor.
Cadash huffed, settling their heavy and clinking pack more comfortably over their back brace.
“And here was me, about to measure you for some nice new gauntlets. I suppose I can put it all back,” they said archly.
Bull chuckled and shook his head, still holding Lavellan’s pack even as he bounced in place, waiting for the healer’s next request.
“Point taken, Cadash,” he said simply, and Cassandra huffed an exasperated laugh.
“Yes, well… that is one more thing we can promise you with the Inquisition,” she told the healer, her usual stiff formality cracking with the release of tension, “the Heralds will personally ensure that you want for nothing that could be foraged from the hills.”
Cadash narrowed their eyes as the healer fell back into shaky giggles.
“Was that sarcasm, Cassandra? Did you forage sarcasm in the Hinterland hills?” They asked mock suspiciously, grinning in triumph when Cassandra rolled her eyes at them.
“It was the only thing in abundance with you, Lavellan, and Varric that was not already snatched up,” she said simply.
The healer shook her head, tension slipping from her shoulders as she gave Lluciano a proper smile.
“Thank you… yes, there are a few other herbs I need, and then I can go. I suppose the Inquisition forces at the crossroads will have an easier time with the supplies I need.” She didn’t sound like she quite believed what was happening.
That was pretty much the normal reaction to a visit from the Heralds though, so she would find herself in good company at the crossroads.
Lluciano dived straight back into his pack, pulling out his various bundles and sorting them as the healer listed the different herbs she needed.
Nothing he didn’t already have in abundance either, as he happily dug through his bulging pack.
The Iron Bull just held it out for him, watching with a fond amusement that was just fucking adorable while Lavellan rooted around, chatting cheerfully about the different herbs and where he’d found each damned leaf.
So what if it was cute. Lluciano was always cute, it was like a fucking curse. Cute, weak ankles, prone to jumping or falling off things.
Catching Varric’s eye, Cadash nodded to the door and the two dwarves slipped outside. Cassandra followed, leaving the elves to their talk.
“It’s about time we headed back to the crossroads,” Corin mused, glancing up at the sky and frowning.
There was a lot that was wrong in Redcliffe, a lot that didn’t make sense and what did was absolutely not good.
Though they were pretty sure Vivienne was going to get a real kick out of what Fiona might have gotten herself into. And how many of the other mages were not on board.
A smile tugging at their lips, Corin stuffed their hands in their pockets. They could see it already; Vivienne’s smug smile, her plans to use the other mages’ discontent.
The complete unawareness that she could have probably actually done something useful for them before joining the Inquisition.
The fact that she could probably gain something by listening to them now. Learn something about the world beyond her circles.
Nope, Vivienne was going to thoroughly enjoy someone else’s plan failing, and Cadash would enjoy watching her try to weave it into all her own plans, blissfully unaware that the discontented mages wouldn’t follow her either.
Sure, a couple wanted to go back to circle life. But those outside, who saw more of the world, would be much less likely to fold themselves in under Vivienne’s plans.
Those now talking to all the other mages who had been pushed to breaking, who’d been living together, hearing their concerns.
They still wanted to reform the circles instead of burning the system down, sure, but that was all part of the system too. And when Vivienne failed to make any of the substantial changes, they’d decide it was because she was wrong.
Not that the system had been designed from the start with all of them in mind, and had channels to turn those who wanted to change the system from within into its strongest supporters.
It was a depressing ass pipeline, but Vivienne was a very intelligent woman. There was a chance she’d work it out before it was too late, if the Inquisition kept the circles empty long enough.
And if she hung around more templars, and mages whose towers were made of something less glamorous than her own.
And if that meant Vivienne travelling back to Redcliffe with them, if only to be smug at Fiona in person? It’d be good for her to spend some time with her feet in the mud.
She could join them all following Lavellan up and down every blasted hill and cranny, scooping up every weed in the fucking Hinterlands. Again.
———————
Because there is nothing I like more in DAI fanfic than Inquisitors who are explicitly and obviously still video game characters, with every stupid and nonsensical thing that entails 😁
Quite a few have been spun off from little side quests or pieces of party banter, and of course none of that would be half so easy without the fabulous work of @missnovelist at the Genitivi Chronicles!
It’s the full transcript, they’ve got most of the way through the main plot so check it out and I bullied them into making a Patreon so if you love this resource as much as I do
(You will the party banter is fucking killer and if your play through is anything like ours those MOTHERFUCKERS will NOT talk to each other no matter how little you fast travel
Vivienne is the villain of Varric’s new series)
Send them a few bucks for this massive labour of love! You get different dialogue options for each species of Inquisitor, for each background, and for half the decision trees so it’s one hell of an undertaking
EDIT: BEHOLD! The masterpost!

A visitor
Today I was visited by a young woman that once was my friend. We were once close. Maybe not as close as most female friendships, but it's the closest I've ever gotten. She did not say much today. Only nodded and smiled.
I remember sitting next to her. Hearing her laughter. She always laughed a lot. She was so happy. I remember drinking with her. Playing sports with her. I was never good at it, two left feet and so incredibly slow, but she never complained. She liked my company. And she liked that I spent some time outside. She was into that health stuff. I was into that reading and writing and nicotine stuff. She was supportive of that, not the nicotine, but she liked my writing. She was so nice.
I did not want to walk to the kitchen. It is sort of a trigger for me now. Since I saw the news, could not sleep and kept up on every little detail. I was in the library when they showed the knife in an update. I broke down. The knives are in plain sight in the kitchen. I should have put them away in the block, but I have forgotten. I am so stupid. I should have done more. So I did not eat today.
We haven't spoken to each other in years. Her joy scared me away. She and her boyfriend were so happy together. Last time we spoke she told me so. He was the best, the greatest, the most lovable boyfriend ever. He was getting a real good education, and in just a few years they would be able to buy a home. He was so kind and gave her gifts all the time. He even dropped his sports to join a unisex "sport group" (I am not so sporty, so I dont know what a group of people trying out different sports and activities is called. I think flock or pack seems fitting). Everything was working out for her. I was jealous. I wanted that too. I wanted to want a boyfriend, just like everyone else. I wanted that perfect life my friend had been promised. I wanted to be cared for. Be someones someone. Seeing her pale face now, makes me feel guilty. I should not have left her back then. In some ways I feel things could have been different, even as I know there was nothing I could have done.
It was nice seeing her again. I never forgot her, and never will. I told her that. She just nodded. I told her that they picked a pretty picture of her on TV, but it was not like how I remembered her. She used to live in hoodies and sweatpants, no make up, and hair often tied up. But it was a pretty picture.
She left when I was not looking. I need to get an extra blanket. I am very cold now, which is kinda ironic or am I wrong again.

The silence is heavy as I walk the short journey up the 2 steps towards the podium next to the casket. I look around at crowd of all the friends, neighbors, and family that my brother relished in. I bet some of them didn't even know he had a little sibling. I look at my mom, dried mascara tears on her face, looking like the water works were about to fall again. Even my dad was teary eyed. The only other time I saw him that teary eyed was at his grandma's funeral.
I look slightly to the left to my best friend sitting in the pew. He takes his heart shaped BFF necklace and squeezes it tightly, looking me dead in my eyes, with a reassuring smile. I don't smile back but I the identical BFF necklace under my shirt (my parents wouldn't let me wear it so I had to hide it). It probably looked like to the audience that I was gripping my heart in grief, which will make my speech more shocking. The thought of that makes me smile.
I turn back towards my audience and take a deep breath . " My dear family, friends, and acquainted of the deceased, we are gathered here today to celebrate the loss of my brother, Dylan Collignton lll. ", Everyone looked at me at bit confused at the word 'celebrate' but I don't let it slow me down. " My brother was a good man I won't deny that. He would bring you soup when he heard you were sick, stay up until 3 am to talk you down from a suicidal spiral, and would probably give you the skin off his back if he could.", I passionately spoke in to the mic while slowly walking right down the steps closer to the front. " You, me, and, everyone in this holy ceremony know that he was a good man and he deserved the love that he got, and it's unfortunate that he'll never know how much of it there was for him."
I could see the smiles as I walked down, people beamed at my speech, including my parents. What fakers they are. " It is epsically unfortunate; I stand in front of my parents beaming faces; I look my dad dead in the eyes;that he was named after you." I heard some gasps but none of them were surprised, I was considered the terrible child pf the neighborhood after all. My dad looked at me and scoffed, " What are you on about? And at you brothers funeral too?". Murmurs started flying around and they sounded angry so I knew it was now or never.
I take the remote to the projector out of my dress pocket, turn towards the projector, and switched from the slideshow with my brother pictures to a video compilation that I made my with Tommy's, my best friend, help. The video was a pitch black screen at first and I was a a little worried that I did it wrong, but then came the screams. Dylan screams. And then came my dad's voice. " I told you to buy me more beer on your way back! How stupid are you?! STOP SCREAMING YOU SOUND LIKE A FUCKING GIRL". I heard a couple gasps before the next clip in the completion played.
This one I took from under the table, my hiding place. Dad was holding Dylan by his hair, mom standing next to him glaring at Dylan. " WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT DISRESPECTING YOUR MOTHER?!" "WELL SHE CANT SPEAK TO ELLIE LIKE THAT!!" , Dylan shouted. A smack was heard and you can see it from under the table cloth as Dylan was forced on to his knees. "YOU DARE TO DIRESPECT ME TOO BOY?!", Dad screamed in Dylans face before it cut to another clip.
I turned back to look around at everyone. I could see my dad's face turning pale and my mom's over flowing with tears, trying to manipulate herself in to innocence. The rest of the people were either angry or horrorifyed. Murmurs began to get louder and louder. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a stainless steal kitchen knife. I turn back to watch the most damning clip. The one that caused Dylans death.
"Dad I genuinely want to go to therapy, I really feel like it would benefit me-" "Why the hell would I waste my hard earned money on that?!" ; Ironic since they made Dylan get a job 2 towns over to pay rent when he became 14. " You don't need no godamn thearpy." " Um but dad I've been feeling lack luster at life lately and I think it would really benefit me..." , Dylan said shyly while slightly tapping his fingers on the kitchen table. " Are you implying that you think your "Depressed"?" Dad asked with a condescending tone. "Well maybe but-" " Then kill yourself". The romm fell back into silence, only this time it was much eerieer. "What?" " You heard me, no son of mine is going to be seen with depression. So you might as well get rid of yourself now while you have the chance to.", Dad said while proceeding to stand up and before Dylan could get a word in he left leaving Dylan sitting alone at the kitchen table. At that point I just walked out of the church, Tommy following behind me. I could hear the rise of chaos and screaming from inside while I felt the tears freefall down my face. Tommy caught up with me and gave me a hug, I hugged him back while I bawled.
It was finally over. I hope Dylan can rest in peace.
Your sibling, your parents’ favorite child, died prematurely. They are inconsolable. They’ve barely even paid attention to you. Now, during the funeral, they forgot your name - again. It’s your turn to ‘say a few words’, so you do.

Fob asks: joy, rat a tat, get busy, your fav song off one of the eps, and your fav two songs off both mania and stardust! =)
• Just One Yesterday+ What did you do yesterday? yesterday was eclipse day for us, so watched it! we were in the 80% coverage range, of course we did have cloud coverage right at the peak, classic. finally getting around to editing the photos, so will share in another post :)
i've also been having computer issues and i am ready to bite the bullet and have it fixed, but i need to find out who can fix it before wiping it clean. so was at best buy for a short period of time looking for guidance, didn't get any (person one basically pushed us to talking to a different repair shop, person two wanted to sell me a new computer). then came home and tried to finish up a fob art i've been working on, but it's on the computer with issues, so it crashed <3
• Rat A Tat+ Favorite time of day? kind of depends on the time of year and what i'm doing / who i'm with. but on average, sunset.
• Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying (Do Your Part To Save The Scene And Stop Going To Shows)+ What do you want to do before you die? Do you have a bucket list? i used to have a bucket list, like visit every hard rock cafe in the states was on it, at this point i just want a life that i can look back on and be proud of. have as little regrets as possible (because i definitely still will have some).
• Lake Effect Kid+ Have you ever been to Chicago? i went with your addition of this one because i haven't heard the original demo(?) of this song. but to answer the question, no. the furthest i've gone into the midwest is indianapolis, indiana.
• Heaven’s Gate+ Have you ever snuck into/helped sneak your friends into something? i can't think of a time off the top of my head, but if either of us did it was something minor, we were all good kids and teens, which has transferred into adulthood as well lol
• Bishops Knife Trick+ Are you nostalgic for any time in your past? Is there any song in particular that reminds you of a specific moment you miss? oh all the time. i am the embodiment of nostalgia, i think about the good times of yesteryear and how i can make sure present day will have the same impact on future me.
as for songs, ironically "bishops knife trick" is one that brings heavy waves of nostalgia. i've told the story before, so won't tell it again. another song is daniel powder's "bad day," that one takes me back to my childhood. it was played heavily when it came out and i seemed to always hear it at school when my teacher would play the radio at the end of the day and bus numbers were being called (i also missed my bus a few times because of this lol).
• The Kintsugi Kid (Ten Years)+ What’s something you loved ten years ago? i almost did "heaven, iowa" for this slot because this song is so hard to listen to because of all the feelings and memories it invokes in me are so bittersweet it's borderline painful to listen to. i actually have a draft where i discussed how it makes me feel and... yeah.
anyways, the question: there was so much i loved ten years ago. just how everything felt back then. it was so much more carefree and was exciting. things can still be exciting today, but something just feels bleak at times. ten years ago was the last year of scamp's life, and when he passed it was like the official end of my childhood, which in a way it was. i was officially and adult and the anchor to my adolescence was now gone.
• So Much (For) Stardust+ Do you like stargazing? Can you name any constellations while looking at the sky? i do enjoy it! but i only can name the dippers lol. i still have the telescope i got as a kid but haven't used it in years. when i got into photography i tried to do long exposure shots of the stars to get light trails, didn't workout well because i was not in an area of absolute darkness.

Soo... Selene with a reader that also have a domestic spirit but have to work, so they wake up a little early so they can make her breakfast? 🥺
Seriously I just want to spoil this woman so much....!!
"What's your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?"
The question came from nowhere. Selene flushes from being put on the spotlight; stammering.
"O-oh, well, I'd probably have to say blueberry pancakes. My mother actually convinced me I had an allergy till I was about eight due to me going through a whole cart by myself when I was a baby before she had a chance to eat a single one. Why do you ask, dear?"
"No reason..."
-
The next morning, Selene wakes to noise in the kitchen. Removing her sleeping mask, she finds that the sun hadn't even fully risen; the clock beside her reading a little after dawn. She usually got up an hour later to make you some breakfast or pack something for lunch. You weren’t in the bed either. How odd. Slipping on her house shoes and robe, she heads into the kitchen to see what was going on.
"Y/n?"
Entering the room, she finds you hunched over the waffles iron; mixing bowl and a cartoon of blueberries beside you. A small stack of the cakes had already been filled to a plate, you adding another to the pile as she walks in. Hearing her voice, you look back.
"Oh, hey, Selene. I was just about to come wake you up."
"What are you doing?"
"Making you breakfast. You always do the same for me, and I don't usually have the time to make you anything due to work, so I got up early today."
You pick up the plate and set it on the kitchen table, pulling the chair out for her. "Come on before they get cold."
Selene walks over and sits down. Alongside the waffles; syrup, flowers, and a small note rest on the table. You had seen the vase while you were out picking up the fruit; deciding to add them to the surprise. A smile made from blueberries had been arranged over the waffles with too eyes to match. Before picking up her fork, Selene skims over the note.
"Have a good day. Love you! - Y/n."
A warmth hotter than anything she's ever felt spreads across Selene’s face; spreading to her chest. She tries to find words to say, but they all feel too dull to properly convey the way she was feeling right now. This is what it feels like - to be loved; she reminds herself. You had displayed tokens of affection in the past, but every new one always felt like the very first time. There wasn't anything she wouldn't give to show you how happy she was.
"Selene?.. Are you alright?"
She hasn't even realized she started crying; a stream running from her right eye. She quickly wipes them away.
"Yes.. of course, yes, I'm just... so happy right now it's hard to put into words. Thank you, honey."
You smile, kissing the side of her head. "No problem. I have to go get ready, but I'll see you before I head out."
You wonder off, leaving her in the afterglow of the occasion. Picking up her knife and fork, Selene takes her first bite. She can taste the love that you poured into each waffle; trying her hardest not to cry like a baby. She had always been such a sucker to her emotions.
After you shower, and kiss her goodbye, Selene sorts through the cookbooks her father had left her; searching for the perfect meal for dinner. She heads out and buys you the biggest bouquet of roses she could find; picking up an adorable stuffed animal she spotted match. She planned to do everything in her power to show you just how much she appreciated you and that she loved you just as much as you did her, if not moreso.

Ok so here's some insider info. I worked for Five Below before the pandemic, and just into it becoming "Five Beyond" (ironically based on the appearance, I'm pretty sure it's this exact one).
Five Below is good for candy, and things you need in a pinch. But that's literally all. DO NOT EXPECT YOUR ITEMS FROM THIS STORE TO LAST MORE THAN A DAY OR TWO!!!!
Do not shop at this place for any reason unless you truly absolutely have to!!!! The chargers and phone cases break within an hour of purchase oftentimes, the headphones and earbuds outright just don't work more often than they do, the collectibles they get are the ones that other stores can't sell and Five Below tries to get a bang for their buck selling those 2 variants of a blind box and nothing else.
The customers... I'm going to give it to you guys straight. The customers were the fucking WORST here out of any job I've ever worked in my life. They came in just to pick up a ton of items they didn't want, and throw them in places they didn't belong, then walked out without buying a damn thing. If they made it to the register, they'd always come up and leave behind over half their cart saying they didn't want this or that or... anything but this one item.
I had a family come in once, and their little son gently bapped his head on the pole in the center of the store, which held up the entire ceiling. His parents came to my boss and started DEMANDING to file a lawsuit, and get that pole removed at once because her kid was concussed.
I was asked to go collect carts one day, and as I did just that, a couple pulled into the spot in front of me, rushed out of their car, and began screaming at me that I'd hit their car with the cart I was grabbing. They threatened to call the police, and pointed out a spot on the car where they claimed there was a dent and a scratch, but I have beyond 20/20 vision according to multiple eye doctors who have tested me over the years, to the point my vision has been compared to that of robots. There were no scratches or dents whatsoever on that car.
Half the people who come into Five Below are high off their asses, and mock the coworkers, shout on the phone, and so on.
One dude came into the store to do a return, and he appeared to have a mental disability of some sort. I'd know, I'm autistic myself and selectively mute. But the moment he was done, the dude got outside and called his wife, perking up like nothing ever happened at all, and said he'd scammed the store into doing a return, communicating completely neurotypically and behaving as such the entire time as well. He literally faked disability to try throwing us workers off by changing his story twenty times on how the item broke and he lost the receipt, just for us to cave and give him his money back.
There were people who would come to us with things from 2 years ago that just broke today, and demanded their money back.
But in general, this corporation sucks as a whole. They destroy a TON of product just because it's out of season. My boss had me literally take a knife to over 100 dresses and blouses one shift for this exact reason. She did the same to many tee shirts and pants throughout our time working there.
Five Below REFUSES to give raises to any employees. If you work there, and you've been there for several years, you're still getting paid as much as that person who just got hired yesterday. Managers barely make any more than that. It doesn't matter how many years pass with you employed, the only reason you'll get paid more is if your state's minimum wage goes up, therefore requiring the company to pay more.
Corporate does random walk-ins without warning constantly. And I mean like multiple times a week. The people disguise themselves as customers, and check out the stock to see if it's immaculate, the workers to see if they're sticking to the script of let go and have fun, and that they're saying something like "Have a fun day!" after every customer leaves. Because this is so common, customers often come by and say they're part of corporate, and they demand something unreasonable, but no workers can tell if they're legit or not, so they learn to become wary of official corporate in general.
Overall, Five Below is shit in every way. It's good for if you're traveling and need something right away to last you the ride home. But that's it. They're unethical, the frequent customers are no better, and the resellers who buy items in bulk just hock up the prices online for people in other countries outside the USA with good-looking products that are actually shit quality in all possible ways. Do NOT buy from Five Below, do not work for them, do not buy from resellers.

eren:
- he tries his best, don’t judge him.
- if you’re out for more than a week, he’ll die of hunger.
- “honey how am i supposed to cook pasta?”
- “just put it in boiled water.”
- it wasn’t that difficult, but he left it in water for too much time while playing some video games and it is now a mass.
- he stays by your side while you cook, watching it cautiously, but he ends having you against the kitchen island.
- “Eren, i’m cooking, please.”
- his mouth bitting your ear playfully.

reiner:
- he's a huge man and he seems clumsy, but no

- he wakes up early, even earlier than you, to prepare you a bath and breakfast for you two.
- “Rein, you don’t have to do this, you can sleep until your work hour”
- his work has night turns, but he shakes his head and keeps doing it for you.
- when you try to wake up early to do the same for him, he’s already awake, pulling you closer to him again.
- “why were you up so early.” he says , his sleepy voice caressing your ears when he speaks.
- he’s also really clean, and it is not new, Bertholdt says he was like that when they shared a flat.
- his breakfasts are the best of the world: strawberry smoothies and fruits salad with fluffy pancakes.
- when he has free day, he likes to buy little things that remind you to him when he walks with the dog.
- “I bought you this chocolate lip balm because you said your lips are getting hurt because of the cold.”
- he also loves kids so much. he wants to have a family.
- “just imagine a little girl waking us up at morning to accompany her to school.”
jean:
- he's so clingy he would do tasks just to be next to you.
- like, doing the laundry in the washing machine room, so small for two people, and be really near to you...
- and at the same time, he wants to show you he deserves to be your husband.
- he works a lot just to show you he can be your husband and the daddy of your children.
- "look babe, try my spaghetti"
- they were actually good, if he cooked a little bit more he will master it for sure.
- "imagine if we make here a garden with a couple swings for our babies?"
- he started working o a cute garden for you two spend the summer days out.
- he put white roses and pink dahlias, and a table with a couple chairs.
- he also put some lights for the night, to power them on and be a even more incredible garden.
- he also proposed to you under this lights.
connie:
- he lazy
- he just wants to watch tv, eat and sleep.
- but, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t do tasks.
- not a lot of them, but he does.
- like he does, but not all of them.
- “i don’t know how to use the washing machine.”
- “then mop the floor.”
- “but that’s so boring, baby please...”
- when he goes to the supermarket, he buys cups of instant ramen and sodas.
- “Connie we need real food to survive. We can’t eat everyday instant ramen and cola.”
- “but you look the color of the lettuce and i don’t know why, so imagine i take a poisoned lettuce because i didn’t analyze the color and we both die”
levi:
- he cleans the house in deep every two days.
- he also keeps it organized.
- actually the thought of having kids bewitches him but scares him, just thinking about all the toys in every part of the house.
- he’s a really clean man, and you also clean up the house while he works.
- he likes to spoil you with his acts, like preparing you bubble baths, helping you to sew your clothes and making you braids.
- fortunately, your bathtub is big enough for the two of you bathing together.
- he likes to caress your waist and torso quietly, just the sound of water and your quite breaths.
- his hands on you makes your skin feel electricity.
- he enjoys that moments of privacy and intimacy.
- also drying your hair when you’re about to go to sleep.
- "if you sleep with it wet you'll catch a cold, dummy"
porco:
- he usually avoided the chores, but when you moved with him, he started to pay more attention to what he had to do.
- he’s more fixed on the way your hands take his clothes than on the things he has to do to wash them.
- “i’m paying attention!!”
- his excuses are always that you're a distraction for him.
- "but you're so gorgeous... i need you. now."
- "porco it's the fifth time you say that today..."
- "and not the last."
- you can't say no because you're as needy for him as he is for you, but you try to hide it.
- at the end, he needs help for all the tasks.
niccolo:
- he cooks sooo well
- every time you arrive home, he’s cooking something.
- pizza, seafood, cakes...
- the house always smell so nice...
- you don’t know how to cook that well, but you help him cleaning all the things he uses for his plates.
- and you help him giving him what he needs.
- “could you pass me that knife, please?”
- his hands always touches yours when he takes the knife

The Enigma that is Badboyhalo
I just want to ramble about this little muffin man because he is currently my hyper fixation and to be honest the things mentioned here is probably why I’m hyper-fixated with him.
Tldr: Bad is an enigma that has a lot of experience and has the most interesting life I could think of, also he is kind and anything good will brighten up his mood.
Let’s start with who Badboyhalo is as a general mcyter. He is most probably known for being kind and wholesome to everybody and his signature “language!” and replacing words with muffin or potato. But every BBH fan knows that he’s more than that.
Lets start with his hobbies/jobs A few days after knowing about Bad, I actually stumbled across clips of his old streams/videos and it was the knife throwing clip. The man who calls people muffin knows how to fucking throw knives professionally. It made me laugh because its so ironic and I knew he was gonna be an interesting guy. Well not only does he throw knives, he also does competitive shooting with guns. This dude talked about buying another gun with Tubbo, a 16 year old. And again, that clip made me laugh because its so absurd to think of someone talking about guns from the first meeting.
You know what else he did before? Weight lifting. Badboyhalo weight lifted, I dont know anymore info because I wasn’t at the discord at that time but its true. The image of Swoleboyhalo terrifies me but at the same time makes me laugh.
Last but not least, he is also a fucking ordained minister. A donation asked if he was willing to officiate their wedding and Bad said yes, if he was near them.
Oh wait, I almost forgot how he was a “teacher” to children, more specifically, special needs children. He talked about how good his student’s were in dodgeball and how they dominated in a school competition, he was really proud!
He is probably the most interesting mysterious guy in the dream smp. LIKE DO YOU SEE THIS SHIT? Bad can fucking switch sides at a drop of a second, being a good teacher and ordained minister before grabbing a gun and throwing a knife targeted at you.
Not to mention his life experiences. Bad literally crashed into 2 telephone poles and only cared about the car and the people who sent you death threats because they “suffered” no electricity. Like..BRO, you almost died. He also had a news article about this incident.
Another thing that happened was the flood in his house, where he passed out mid-way because of the exhaustion from waking up to a flood and having to throw the water outside. Mind you, he did this because he didn’t want his computer and other valuable stuff to get destroyed. He did this for hours without help and the only good thing that brightened up his day was his roommate’s pancakes.
Most people forget that he is the center of why so many people are who they are today. The Dream team wouldn’t exist without him making a server, Skeppy was an old fan of Bad before making his own yt, Antfrost and Red met at munchy and so many more people are connected through him. He has so many friends I feel a little bit jealous of their friendships. Fun fact, Munchy mc was solely made because Bad wanted to keep in contact with his friends in Mcpvp and look how well it worked.
Dont even get me started with the theories of how old Bad actually is, the most popular one is that Bad was 15 in 2012 and is now 24 or 25 in 2020.
I think thats all I can say for now without invading/exposing more about him, this is general information you can find btw. Just join his discord and you can listen to him talk about stuff, the people with voice chat are fans and he treats them like friends so like, he is so soft <3
Conclusion: He is a certified Florida man with his own Florida news article and living a Florida life

Wanda X Reader - 10 Things I hate about you - Part One
Tumblr media
Summary:  Pietro Maximoff is handsome and popular, but he can't date before his twin sister. The problem is that no one can get close to his sister, Wanda Maximoff. To resolve the situation, a girl interested in Pietro bribes a colleague with a mysterious past to go out with Wanda and, who knows, try to win her over. Or The one directly inspired by 10 Things I Hate About You.
Words:  6.553K  /// Read on AO3 too || Part Two
Warnings: PG, fluff, language; goth wanda is back thank god.
Notes: If English is your native language and I used slang that doesn't make sense at all, forgive me. It is really hard to translate many dialects from Portuguese to English. Anyways enjoy your reading!
You rode your skateboard to school today. Your mother was angry with you and took the keys to your motorcycle while yelling that you were difficult to raise, so you grabbed your backpack and skateboard while slamming the door on your way out.
It didn't take long to get to school, though.
You absolutely hate this place. Sometimes you get the impression that you are surrounded by completely mental people.
You walked across the parking lot and got off your skateboard, quickly waving to your friend Carol Danvers, who was smoking leaning against the wall of the school building. You would have to talk to them later, as you had a meeting scheduled with the school principal.
Shrugging off the students as you entered the building, you ignored the stares you received and headed toward Ms. Harkness' office.
You entered without knocking because the door was already open, since she was talking to another student, and when the stranger got up she almost tripped over you on her way out. The principal raised her eyes from her notebook to you, and smiled wryly.
- Well, well, Miss Y/L/N. - she said. - I see these encounters of ours are becoming recurrent.
- I like to be around beautiful women, Miss Harkness. - You stated with a charming smile and crossed arms. The woman laughed lightly as she returned her gaze to her notebook.
- Let me see what happened here. - She mumbled to herself, probably trying to find the notes. - Wow, top nudity exhibit in the cafeteria.
You scratched your head impatiently.
- They were melons, Miss Harkness. - You clarified. - I was making a little joke.
Harkness let out a wry chuckle as she stood up.
- How about you keep them under your blouse, huh? - She scoffed, pointing slightly at the height of your breasts and giving you a wink. You frowned. - Out!
You startled slightly, and Mrs. Harkness giggled, returning to her seat.
You blinked in confusion and turned away, mumbling wryly that she was an excellent professional before you left.
//-//
Carol was waiting for you outside the room, a few feet ahead in the hallway against her own lockers, and you greet her with a kiss on the cheek quickly.
- How did it go today? Did she say anything interesting? - Carol asked with humor in her voice. You leaned your back against the closet, letting out a chuckle.
- No way. - You replied. - She just told me to keep my breasts under my blouse.
Carol laughs lightly, while you check your cell phone. And then she touches your arm lightly. When you raise your eyes to her, she signals the corridor.
- New faces. - She nods, and you notice that it's the same girl who bumped into you in the Harkness room. Now she is accompanied by Bruce Banner, who was clearly showing her around.
- Wow, people keep choosing to come to this place. - You mock, making your friend laugh a little.Carol then checks the clock on her wrist and signals that she needs to get to her history class.  You say goodbye to her, but get distracted by your cell phone again, and then the bell rings, and you have to run to get to the literature room on the other side of the building.
//-//
You stumble into the room, and all the students turn to look at you.
- What have I missed? - you ask, trying to normalize your breathing after running through the halls.
- The oppressive patriarchal values that determine our education. - replied a girl you didn't know.
- Nice. - You grumble with a slight laugh, as you hurry to sit in the back of the room.
- You must love detention, don't you, Miss Y/L/N? This is your third delay this week. - commented the teacher as soon as you sat down. Several giggles were heard, but you didn't pay much attention. You threw your bag on the chair and tried to pretend that you were interested in whatever Professor Fury was teaching.
- Professor Fury, any chance you could ask Wanda to take her Midol before coming to class? - scoffed Pepper Potts, one of the most popular and insufferable girls at this school. You rolled your eyes at the teasing, and leaned back as the rest of the class giggled.
- One of these days Mrs. Maximoff is going to punch you in the nose, and I'm not going to do anything to stop her. - Fury replied seriously, wiping the ironic smile off Potts' face. - And Wanda, I want to thank you for your point of view. I know how hard it must have been to overcome all those years of upper middle-class suburban oppression. It must be hard. - He sneered and then started walking toward the girl who was probably Wanda. - But the next time you protest about demanding better food, or whatever it is that white kids protest about, ask them why they don't buy books written by black people!
You let out a little laugh, and Professor Fury looked at you seriously.
- Do you find something funny, Miss?
You shrugged, straightening your posture.
- Sorry to interrupt your speech, Mr. Fury. - You say. - But you're blaming Wanda for something she has no control over. Wouldn't it be better to suggest books written by black women, instead of separating the fights?
Professor Fury blinks in irritation at you, while Wanda looks in your direction, looking surprised.
- Out. Principal office. - says the professor, and you blink in surprise. - Both of you, by the way! You pissed me off!
You grumble, and grab your backpack and leave the room, with Wanda following behind. But you don't speak to her, and when you leave the room, you go to opposite sides of the hallway, since you had no intention of seeing the principal at all.
//-//
You ended up skipping the last two classes of the day while sneaking a smoke with Carol behind the bleachers of the soccer field.
And then you accepted the ride home that she offered you.
- See you tomorrow, troublemaker. - She said good-bye, and you just nodded as you walked toward the front door.
Your mother was at home, sitting at her computer in the living room, and you thought maybe you could sneak past her, but as soon as you closed the door she turned around with her arms crossed.
- The school called. - She said as she stood up, and you let out an impatient sigh as you threw your backpack on the floor by the door. - Are you trying to get suspended?
- Oh yeah, that's my dream. - You scoff, walking toward the kitchen.
- You're going to be grounded.
- I'm already grounded. - You retort softly, and your mother walks over to the counter.
- You think I'm kidding? - She exclaims angrily, and then she's heading down the hall, and you're curious what she's going to do, so you follow her through the house to the garage. You look impassive as she glances around, but then she grabs a hammer and screwdriver from the cabinet and heads for her motorcycle. Your whole body tenses up, but before you can do anything, your mother is breaking your bike.
- You've gone crazy! - You shout as you run toward her, but she turns threateningly toward you with the objects pointed in your direction
- No more fighting! - she shouts. - You're not going anywhere on this damn motorcycle, do you hear me? You are grounded until college.
And then she throws the tools on the floor, and leaves the garage. You take a deep breath, trying not to break everything in front of you, and turn to your motorcycle. Some parts were broken, but you could fix them. The problem would be having the money to do it.
//-//
Tuesday started with biology. And you were really pissed off about the whole thing with your mom and your motorcycle. The professor asked the groups to dissect frogs, and the damn scalpel he handed out wasn't cutting anything. So you grabbed your knife hidden in your boot, and angrily pierced the animal.
- You've lost your mind, put that away! - ordered Carol sitting next to you as she looked around to see if the teacher had seen. You let out an angry sigh and put the item away.
You were bored, and you smoked when you were bored. So you turned the valve on the experimental flame on the bench while putting a cigarette in your mouth, and walked over to light it.
- Girl, what's the matter with you today? - Carol asked impatiently, closing the valve and taking the cigarette out of your mouth.
You mumbled without answering, and she let out a dry laugh before going back to writing. Your gaze wandered around the room and you thought that the new girl and Bruce Banner were looking at you from the table in front of you, but they looked away quickly, so you got distracted again.
//-//
The next class was better because it kept your hands busy. Mechanics with Professor Howard Stark was interesting as he allowed the students to experiment as much as they wanted.
At this moment you were welding a car part while trying not to burn your fingers when you heard a female voice next to you.
- Hi, how are you? - the girl said, and as you turned you realized that it was the new student. You frowned confused, you don't talk to anyone. You thought you should have an aggressive posture, because the girl's voice trembled a little, and then she quickly said good-bye and left the room. You shook your head and went back to concentrating on the lesson.
- What the hell was that all about? - Carol asked from beside you, and you shrugged.
- I told you there are only crazy people in this school. - You remarked with amusement.
- But we go here. - She retorted with a smile.
- Exactly.
Carol laughed and turned her attention back to her own activity.
//-//
In Gym class, the teacher took all the students to the outdoor field, where the rugby team was practicing. He was more concerned about the girls' performance, so he let the rest of the class do as they pleased. Then you and Carol sat down on one of the benches, while you shared a cigarette.
And you had about ten minutes of peace before Pepper Potts and one of her friends came to talk to you.
- Hey, what's up? - asked the blonde, and you looked at her with irony.
- Are you lost? - You replied aggressively, but she didn't seem intimidated.
- See that girl over there? - She said, pointing quickly toward the field. You followed her direction, and it was the same girl from literature class. - That's Wanda Maximoff. I want you to go out with her.
You laughed, shaking your head, and then took a drag on your cigarette.
- As if, preppy. - You denied it as you exchanged a look with Carol, who was grinning in disbelief.
But Pepper was not joking.
- Look, I can't go out with her hot brother until she dates. - She clarifies. - Their father is kind of crazy, he made a rule...
- Touching. Really. I'm moved. - You mock without patience. - But that's not my problem.
- Would it be your problem if you were paid a nice fee?
You let out a dry laugh, looking at her in surprise.
- Are you going to pay me to go out with someone? - you ask, and Potts has a smile on her face as she nods in agreement. You laugh again. - How much?
- Twenty dollars.
You raise your eyebrows, really considering this for a second. And then you look toward the field, and watch as Wanda fouls a girl to the ground, and you swallow dryly. This girl was going to eat you alive.
- Okay, how about 30 bucks? - Potts next suggests when she sees the foul.
You thought about the parts of your motorcycle that you would have to buy. And you licked your lips before you spoke.
- Let's take a good look at this. - You start. - If I take her to the movies, it will be fifteen dollars. And if we buy popcorn, it's fifty dollars. I like to buy candy for the girls, so it would be about seventy-five.
- This is not a negotiation. - Potts retorts angrily. - Take it or leave it, mutt.
You let out a humorless laugh.
- But I think it is, Potts. - You retort, smoking your cigarette again. - Or I'll go over there now and tell Wanda your whole touching little tale.
Potts blinks in irritation, and lets out a wry laugh. But then she relaxes her posture.
- Eighty dollars. - she says. You smile, throwing the cigarette on the floor and putting it out with your foot.
- Deal, Hollywood. - You tell her, and raise your hand in her direction. Potts rolls her eyes, but takes the money from her pocket and hands it to you.
She and her friend then leave, and you settle into your seat.
- You're crazy. - Carol declares afterwards.
- Yes, I know. - You say, brushing your hair out of your eyes with your hands. - But I need new parts. It'll be harmless, it's just a date.
- I hope you're right. - She comments with a laugh, turning her attention back to the field. And then practice ends, and you exchange a look with Carol before getting up and walking toward the players' benches.
You assume your most charming pose as you approach Wanda.
- Hey, pretty girl. - You greet her with a smile as she drinks water from a bottle. She frowns in surprise, and has a wry smile on her face. - What's up?
- I'm sweating like a pig, how are you? - She answers wryly, and you smile awkwardly.
- Wow, that sounds attractive. - You reply in the same tone, watching her put the bottle of water in her backpack on the bench.
- Oh, yes. My goal in life is to look attractive all the time. - She scoffs, frowning. - But I guess it works, since I got your attention. The world makes sense again.
She starts walking toward the exit of the camp, and you are a bit taken aback by the irony, but hurry to keep up with her.
- I'll pick you up on Friday, then. - You tell her, and Wanda lets out a laugh.
- Sure, Friday. - She wryly continues walking.
- Hey, it's the night I take you to places you've never seen.
- To a convenience store on Broadway? - She replies with irony. - Girl, do you even know my name?
You laugh.
- Wanda. - You answer, but she doesn't seem impressed. - And I know more than you know.
- I doubt it. I doubt it very much. - She said ironically and you stopped following her, biting your lip as you watched her walk off the field.
//-//
Your first attempt to get a date with Wanda had not gone well at all, but you are optimistic. And then, on Saturday of that same week, while you and Carol were at the laundromat on the corner of your houses, she nodded slightly outside through the window.
- Isn't that the car of the girl you're being paid to date? - She mocked, and you sighed.
- Don't talk like that. - you said as you put the coins in the washing machine. - It makes me sound like a psychopath.
She laughed without looking at you, kneeling on the waiting couch as she looked out the window.
- I think I should look for a new rejection. - You grumble, handing Carol some coins. - Take care of my clothes while I go talk to her, please.
Carol nods in agreement as you leave the establishment. Crossing the street, you look in the direction of Wanda's car. It is nice, and you are watching the tires as she arrives.
- Are you following me? - She asks with a mixture of aggressiveness and surprise.
- What? Of course not! - You deny it, but with the suspicious look on her face, you try to add. - I was in the laundry room, smarty-pants. I saw your car, and wanted to say hello.
She lets out a sigh, and shrugs her shoulders, heading for the door. You hurry to stand in front of her, a charming smile on your lips.
- I notice that you don't talk much. - You remark, and Wanda frowns, crossing her arms.
- It depends on the subject. - She says. - Talking about the tires on my car doesn't cause me a verbal frenzy.
- You're not afraid of me, are you? - you ask, and she looks at you incredulously.
- Why would I be afraid of you?
- Most people are. - You retort, and Wanda rolls her eyes with irony.
- Well, I don't.
You smile and move a little closer.
- Not afraid, but I bet you've imagined me naked, haven't you? - You tease and give a little wink. Wanda keeps her face almost angry.
- Wow, is it that obvious? - She retorts. - I want you so bad, baby.
She mocks last before bending down slightly and opening the car door, pushing you with the metal.
You let out an impatient sigh as you step back, and she gets into the car and prepares to leave. You stand with your arms folded trying to think how exactly you are going to make this work.
And then Pepper Potts parks her car right behind Wanda's, preventing her from leaving, while the blonde steps out of the vehicle with a smiling, arrogant posture.
- My God, is it idiots' day today? - Wanda complains from inside the car. When Pepper passes by her window, she shouts: - Do you mind girl?
- Not even a little, bitch. - Potts retorts without looking at her as she walks away.
But then Wanda is backing the car up, and the next moment Pepper's red Cadillac has a big bump mark on the side. You laugh in surprise, not believing that she had actually hit the car.
- My God, you are completely crazy! - Potts shouts as she observes the impact.
- Oops. - You hear Wanda scoff.
You laughed again, before going back to the laundry room.
//-//
It was Monday again, and you were trying to have a quiet day. But while you were putting your books away in your locker, Potts approached you.
- When I pay for something, I expect results. - She says, and you close the closet to brace yourself against it.
- I'm trying.
- Watching that lunatic destroy my car doesn't count as a date. - She retorts with mild irritation. - If you don't go out with her, I won't get Pietro. Then get something soon, okay?
That girl's audacity pissed you off.
- I just raised the price. - You tell her, and she looks at you in disbelief.
- Excuse me?
- One hundred and fifty dollars a date. - You say. - In advance.
- Forget it. - She said angrily, turning away.
- Then forget about her brother.
Potts lets out a grumble and then turns to you again, hurrying to get the money.
- Does this kid have a gold dick by any chance? - You scoff, and Potts gives you the middle finger, making you laugh.
- You better get the date, sister. - She says, and you just smile before heading off in the direction of the mechanics' classroom.
//-//
You were trying to find the correct melting point for one of the tools when you were approached by the same girl as the last time you had mechanics.
- I know what you are trying to do with Wanda Maximoff. - She announces, and you let out a wry chuckle as you continue your attention to the tools in front of you.
- Really? And what are you going to do about it?
- Help you.
You blink in surprise as you raise a large metal bar at your eye level to identify its features.
- Why? - you ask, and it is not the girl who speaks next.
- The situation is that my friend Monica, is in love with Pietro Maximoff. - A male voice speaks, and then you look quickly to identify Bruce Banner.
- God, this kid must really have a gold cock. - You mumble with irony as you place the iron bar on the table, and take off your protective gloves.
- Believe me when I tell you that Monica's love is pure, she wants to date him. - Banner explains as you walk to another table in the room, looking for your notes. - Unlike Pepper Potts, who only wants to use him as a trophy.
- Look, I'm only in this for the money. I don't give a shit who Potts is fucking. - You respond without patience, and Monica seems to get irritated with you, but Banner calms her down.
You make some notes regarding the lesson and walk over to the table to analyze the pictures of the tools as you organize them. Monica and Banner follow you.
- Listen, Y/N, we are the ones who planned this story so that Monica and Pietro could date. - Banner says. - Potts is just the go-between.
You laugh with surprise.
- And you are going to help me win Wanda over?
- That's right. - They both say in unison. You turn your attention back to the materials in front of you.
- We will investigate what she likes. - Banner says. - You need our help.
Bruce smiled amiably, and you laughed at the posture he assumed.
- Look, we'll start here. - He began by pulling a piece of paper from his pocket. - On Friday, Stephen Strange is having a party. It's the perfect opportunity.
- Perfect for what? - you ask, looking at him.
- For you to invite Wanda. - He clarifies, and you sigh impatiently, already tired of this conversation.
- I'll think about it. - You say finally and walk to the other side of the room, and this time, they don't follow you.
//-//
It was Wednesday, and you and your friends went to a bar to play a bit of pool shortly after school. Your mother had no idea you were here, but she was working, so she wouldn't know.
You got a text message from Bruce, wanting to meet you along with Monica, and you laughed when you sent the location. They really weren't the kind of people who hang around this place.
You were upstairs, drinking some beer when you saw them come in, and nodding slightly to Carol, you went downstairs and walked over to them.
- So, what do you have for me? - you asked, leaning against a wall.
- Before we get started, I have a question. - says Bruce. - Is it true that you are on probation?
You laugh in surprise.
- What?
- Bruce, shut up. - said Monica, tapping her colleague on the shoulder. And then she turned to you. - First thing, Wanda hates smokers.
- Okay, I hate them too.
You mock, but Monica and Bruce look serious, so you sigh, and take out of your pocket your cigarette case, handing it to the girl.
- There is another problem, Pietro told me that Wanda likes pretty girls.
They look at you for a moment and you frown.
- Are you saying that I'm not pretty? - you ask, straightening your posture.
- You are beautiful! Monica, she's so beautiful, what are you saying? - hurried Bruce almost in terror. You wanted to laugh.
Monica nods quickly in agreement, and you lean back against the wall.
- Look, I made a list. - She hastens to say, pulling a piece of paper from her shirt pocket. - Wanda's tastes are: Sokovian food, feminist poetry, punk and alternative music. And there is a list of the CDs she had in her room.
She says, handing the paper to you. You let out a sigh.
- So should I buy some soup, a book, and ear plugs for some really noisy concert?
They both shrug, smiling slightly.
- Have you ever been to the Skrull Club, west side of town? - Banner asks.
You chuckle.
- It's a nice place, but not really my style.
- Well, it will have to be. - says Monica. - Her favorite group is playing there tomorrow night.
You run your fingers through your hair, sighing.
- Come on, Y/N, it's only for one night. - says Banner. - We're sure she'll be there, Mon found the tickets.
- She also has a black lingerie set. - Added Monica and you frown with confusion.
- Why is this relevant? - You asked, and Monica looked away, looking embarrassed. You laughed lightly, but didn't push it. Then you looked at both of them. - Okay, I'll drop by.
Bruce and Monica both let out excited exclamations and then waved goodbye. You laughed and shook your head, wondering what you had gotten yourself into.
//-//
The Skrull Club was generally frequented by the punk crowd in town, many women from extremist feminist movements hung out here. But in general it was a pretty diverse crowd of rockers, punks, goths and allies. And the drink was cheap.
You received a few curious glances as you walked through the dimly lit corridors of the nightclub, but it was more because these clubs were generally frequented by the same people, and you’re a familiar face.
The place was very crowded, and you had to dodge a lot of people until you reached the main dance floor, trying to find Wanda.
You smiled when you finally saw her, in the first row, dancing with a girl who was also from your school. You thought she looked pretty, in her black dress and red jacket, plus a knee-length black stocking and dark boots on her feet. She might have looked intimidating, but she was still very pretty.
You don't quite understand why your heart races at the image of her dancing and smiling, so you think it best to get a drink, and turn toward the bar.
You sit there, trying to decide how you are going to approach her, but then Wanda is coming toward the bar, and you disguise yourself by looking the other way.
- You don't give up, do you? - She says as soon as she sees you. And walks over to where you are sitting. - If you're planning on asking me out, you can just give up!
- Do you mind? I'm trying to hear the music. - You hit back without looking at her.
-You're not surrounded by your typical cloud of smoke. -She comments after a moment, and you take a sip of the drink you ordered before answering.
- Yes, I quit. They say it's bad for your health. - You say it with a slight irony.
- Do you think so? - Wanda looks slightly surprised, and you give her a short smile before standing up.
- These guys aren't the Kree's, but they play well. - You comment on her favorite band before heading off toward the dance floor. Wanda hurries to follow you.
- Do you know who the Kree's are? - she asks in surprise.
- Why, you don't know? - You reply with irony.
She doesn't answer, looking mildly impressed. You smile briefly.
- I was watching you dance. - You comment as the band is finishing the song. - I don't think I've ever seen you so sexy.
And then the song ends exactly with your line, and the whole club hears you. Several people giggle, and you feel your cheeks heat up, but Wanda laughs too, and that relaxes you.
- Come to Stephen Strange's party with me. - You ask her. And she tilts her head slightly to the side, still smiling.
- You never give up, do you?
And then another song starts, and Wanda is coming back to the front of the stage.
- Is that a yes? - you shout at her.
- No!
- Was that a no?
It takes a second, but she shouts back.
- No!
You grin.
- See you at 9:30! - You shout to her before she disappears into the crowd.
You're smiling all the way home.
//-//
You were early. But you were so anxious about it that you left the house as quickly as possible.
And then you arrived at Wanda's door, but as soon as you went to knock, she opened it.
- What are you doing here? - she asked in surprise.
- 9:30. - You answer. - Yeah, well, I'm early.
- Whatever, I'm driving. - She says and then you look into the house and see Pietro Maximoff with a kangaroo baby carrier outfit occupied with a doll and frown.
- May I ask what that is? - You remark, and Wanda just rolls her eyes at the scene, then turns to you.
- My father is a little neurotic about this whole pregnancy thing. - She answers and walks outside. You both wait for Pietro.
- At least he doesn't use a real baby. - You joke and Wanda smiles. But then Pietro leaves the house, looking slightly annoyed, and you hurry to Wanda's car.
It doesn't take long to get to the party.
The place was packed. Probably the whole school was here. And as soon as Wanda found a parking place, Pietro got out and disappeared into the crowd.
You decided to accompany Wanda as she entered the house. You went toward the second floor, and you lost sight of Wanda when a girl jumped on you, completely drunk and trying to kiss you.
- Wow, slow down there. - You said, helping her sit up. You found several empty and sealed bottles of water in one of the liquor containers around the house and handed one to her. - I want you to drink it all, okay?
The girl whimpered in confusion, but you waited. She seemed better, but you handed her another bottle just to be sure.
- Hey Peggy, I found you! - said a skinny boy you didn't know, walking up to you. He frowned, slightly startled, when he noticed you.
- Are you a friend of hers? - You asked him with distrust, and he nodded, looking mildly frightened.
- Yes, he is. This is Steve. - mumbled the girl sitting up, looking like she had a headache. - Thanks for the water, by the way.
- No problem. - You say. - Are you feeling well enough to be alone?
She nods slightly as she speaks:
- Yes, yes. Steve will take care of me now. Thanks again.
And then you patted Steve on the arm, and left the two of them, walking back through the crowd.
It took you many minutes to find Wanda again, because the party is so crowded. And when you reached her, she was pouring a glass of drink into her mouth.
- Hey, I've been looking all over for you. - You announce mildly annoyed. - What the hell are you doing?
- Getting drunk! - she answers ironically. - Isn't that what people are supposed to do at a party?
- I don't know, you do whatever you want to do. - You retort, and Wanda raises her eyebrows.
- Very funny. You're the only one who says that. - She says as she turns away. - See you later.
Wanda leaves walking through the party, and you see her grab another drink glass on the way.
You think you heard someone yell fight while you were walking through the party, and then the crowd moved, but you didn't go toward the people.
You are very angry, and impatient, wanting to be spending this evening with Wanda, but she doesn't seem interested.
And then you were walking back the way you came, and you ran into the same couple as before, only now they were kissing. You laughed lightly, the boy looked shy. You decided to stay out of their way, and went downstairs, only to run into Wanda again.
- Hey, why don't you let me have this one. - You spoke up as you noticed what must have been one of the many glasses of booze she had taken, and you raised your arm to pick it up, but Wanda was quicker, moving the glass away.
- No! This one is mine! - she grumbled, clearly drunk, trying to push you away. But you managed to take her glass, and she let out an annoyed sigh.
As you put the glass on a small table, she walked away again, and before you could follow, Pepper was at your side.
- Girl, how did you manage to do that? - she asked, looking excited. You frowned.
- What are you talking about?
- You made a freak act like a human being. - She commented with irony, but you weren't even paying attention anymore. Your gaze raced across the room after Wanda, and then someone turned on the radio in the next room and the crowd screamed attracting your attention.
You exclaimed in surprise when you noticed Wanda dancing on a table, without the jacket she was wearing earlier. Pepper ran in the same direction, joining in the shouts of celebration from the crowd around the table.
Walking towards the table you were a mixture of irritation, disbelief and embarrassment. Wanda was completely drunk, dancing sensually to the music, while people whistled and watched intently. She had her eyes closed, not even seeming to notice her surroundings.
And then she made a badly calculated move, and hit her head on the chandelier on the table. You were quick enough to catch her when she fell.
- Okay, that was enough. - You grumbled, helping her to her feet. - Are you okay?
- I'm fine! - she replied, but she could barely walk. You kept her from falling while grabbing the jacket she had thrown to the ground.
- Yeah, you're not fine. - You said. - Let's get out of here.
- I just need to lie down. - She mumbled, letting you hold her around the waist as you led her through the crowd.
- If you lie down, you'll sleep. - You say. - You can't sleep after hitting your head.
Wanda giggled.
- So many words. - She complained, and you thought it best to sit her down somewhere.
You reached the outside, as crowded as the house, but you managed to find a space in the garden for her to sit, and helped her to the bench. Wanda put her hand on her head where she had hit it.
- Hey, I need to talk to you. - Called Monica, walking up to you suddenly.
- I'm kinda busy. - You retorted, looking at Wanda.
- Five minutes, it's important.
You sighed, and took one last look at Wanda before walking away with Monica.
- Look, the deal is off, okay? - she said, and you blinked in confusion. - Pietro never wanted to be with me. He just wanted to have sex with Pepper.
You really didn't have the energy for that right now.
- Monica, where did all this come from now, huh? Weren't you two sneaking around together?
- I thought I was having a good time, but I saw them both at the party. - She explained, and you sighed impatiently.
- Hey, you like this boy don't you? - you asked, and she looked away, nodding. - And he's worth all this stuff you're doing?
- I thought so but...
- Yes or no?  - She swallowed hard, and you assumed a serious posture. - Listen, Pepper Potts is not half as good as you, and you never let anyone make you think that you don't deserve something. Okay?
Monica nodded, looking surprised. You turned your face toward Wanda quickly.
- Look, I have to go. - You said as you turned and helped Wanda to her feet.
On the way out you made sure to grab one of the bottles of water you found in the barrels.
You let her rest her arm on your shoulder to keep from falling, while your arm went around her waist. You dragged her across the street, and you ended up climbing a small hill in the mansion area that ended at a playground.
- Why are you doing this? - she grumbled.
- I said, you might have a concussion. - You retorted. Wanda broke free of you and started trying to walk ahead. You kept your attention to catch her in case she fell.
- You don't even care if I don't wake up.
You let out a chuckle, stopping her from falling next.
- That's not true.
- Why not?
- Because then I'd have to date girls who like me. - You respond with humor.
- If you could find one. - She retorts, and you have a smile on your lips when you answer.
- Oh, see. Who needs affection when I get hate?
- I just need to sit for a while. - She says, closing her eyes for a moment, and you help her sit down on one of the swings behind you. She falls off balance a second after you put her there, but you are quick to help her stay seated.
- Jesus. - You sigh as you stop her from falling, and then sit down on the swing beside her while Wanda laughs lightly. - So, why do you let yourself be affected?
- By whom? - she asks.
- Potts.
Wanda looks away, shaking her head.
- I hate her.
You let out a tired sigh.
- Well, you have chosen the perfect revenge. Intravenous tequila. - You joke, making her laugh.
- It's what they say.... - She begins to speak while you are looking away, and with the momentary silence you stare back, startled to find her asleep. You get up hastily, touching her face.
- Hey, Wanda! Wake up! Come on, open your eyes! - You called out, patting her face lightly.
Wanda blinked, opening her eyes, and you let out a sigh of relief. And then you took your hands away from her face and stood up, while she continued to look at you.
- I like your eyes. - She says with a shy smile. And you smile too, but then she throws up on your shoes the next second and the moment is broken. You laugh incredulously, but pat her on the back.
- Time to go home, punk. - You comment softly.
It takes a moment for Wanda to calm down, and you hand her the bottle of water you got. Then you walk to her car, and she hands you the keys.
Just as you are about to arrive at her house many minutes after, she speaks again:
- I should do that. - She comments still sounding drunk.
- Do what?
- That. - She says, pointing to the radio. A rock song was playing.
- Start a band?
- No, install radios in cars. - She retorted with irony, and you laughed lightly. - Starting a band of course. My dad would love it.
You then stop the car in front of her house.
- You don't seem to be the type to ask your father's permission to do things. - You comment as you take out the keys.
Wanda blinks in surprise.
- So now you know me?
- I'm trying.
- People only know that I scare them.
- Yeah, I know the feeling. - You comment with a wry smile. Wanda looks at you with an intensity that makes your stomach turn. - So, your father looks tough.
- No, he just wants me to be someone I'm not. - She says, shaking her head slightly.
- Who?
- Pietro. - She answers with a frown. You let out an understanding sigh.
- No offense, I know everyone likes your brother and all, but he's a pretty shallow guy. - You say and Wanda looks at you in surprise, but then she has a little smile on her face.
- You know... you're not as obnoxious as I thought. - She says, making you laugh slightly. And then she looks at you like that again, and brings your faces together, closing her eyes. You swallow dryly, ignoring your nervousness, and look at the steering wheel.
- I think we should do this another time. - You say, and Wanda looks at you in disbelief, as you twiddle your fingers nervously. She frowns and looks ahead, then opens the car door and gets out.
You sit there for several minutes, hoping that Wanda won't be even more irritated with you than she usually is.

“I’ll have you know that I was trained to hold a knife by some of the best knights in the Kingdom,” Aegon protested.  “Though to be honest, I think the main point I got out of all of their teaching was that the important part was to stab someone else and not yourself.”  Aegon had been a more dedicated fighter when he was younger, but he’d lost interest in the activity in his later teen years.  Drinking and partying had come to the forefront of his interests and his frustration at his younger brother’s skill steadily surpassing his own hadn’t made the activity any more enjoyable when he was continually being shoved into the dirt.  Still, he mimicked the way Dalton gripped the stolen knife with his own, easily able to feel the difference in the security of the hold.  “Okay, maybe there actually is something to this after all,” he conceded, putting the knife back under his cloak.
Despite what they’d just endured, Aegon couldn’t keep the bounce out of his step as he entered the market.  He had never taken great joy in shopping as some did, but he loved the chaos of the different merchants yelling out advertisements for their wares, the bright colors from imported silks and items from around the world, and the press of people around him as they moved throughout the square.  Aegon loved to watch people go past, imagining what life might be like for each person who caught his eye.  Today though, he was more than happy to follow Dalton to wherever he wanted to go, chuckling softly when their first stop was at a vendor selling fresh pie.  Aegon grabbed and paid for a slice for himself after Dalton, following his friend’s gaze as it zeroed in on a man selling weapons, many that appeared to be from Essos.
He watched as Dalton haggled with the man over the price, though he didn’t understand what the two were saying.  The only thing he could gather was that the man’s price was exorbitantly high from the frustrated expression on Dalton’s face as he argued.  He was slightly surprised when Dalton suddenly spun around and grabbed his shoulders, begging him to buy the curved sword for him.  Secretly, Aegon probably would have gotten the sword for Dalton if he had simply asked. He already considered Dalton a friend and there was very little Aegon wouldn't do for his friends, especially for a request as small as this. However, the additional promises had certainly helped. “You saved my life.  The least I can do is buy this weird curved sword for you.  How is that even used properly anyway?”  Aegon didn’t recognize it at first glance, but to be fair, he didn’t know much about the lands across the Narrow Sea.  “But I’m holding you to the promise of another sailing trip.  I’m not sure if Helaena would want to sail, but I’ll ask her.”
The vendor was eyeing him closely as Aegon approached, clearly having witnessed Dalton’s conversation with him.  Aegon pointed to the strange curved sword.  “How much?”
As expected, the price he received was ridiculously high.  Aegon pointed back towards Dalton.  “That’s Dalton Greyjoy, lord of the Iron Islands.  He’s here for the Queen’s coronation along with his entire family.  That means all 22 wives and the majority of his children and the crews of their ships.  Do you know what Greyjoys and Iron Islanders love more than anything else in the world?  Weapons.  Do us a favor and give us that at a discounted price as a sign of good faith and your shop will be overrun with Iron Islanders stocking up for their next raid.  You sell out of weapons that I’m fairly certain the average Westerosi citizen has no interest in and we get a decent price on this.  I’ll even throw in a prince’s favor from me.”  Aegon gave the man his most charming smile.
Moments later, Aegon was returning to Dalton with the weird sword in hand having paid a slightly ridiculous, but more fair sum than had been originally proposed. He passed it over to Dalton.  “Here you are.  You might have to send a few of your children and wives to get weapons from him, but I think he’ll be willing to be more lenient when he sees how much business you can bring in.”

The Red Keep, 129 AC. With: @goldaegontargaryen
The only good thing about being forced to stay inside the Red Keep was that Dalton could sleep as much as he wanted. He didn't have much to do in the first place, so he stayed in his chambers and slept at any moment for as long as he wanted and no one would bat an eye. Dalton's sleep was obviously interrupted anyways.
The door of his chambers opened, but Dalton stayed unbothered. He was cuddling with Lysa; his body behind her, head hiding on her neck. So oddly peaceful that it became suspicious. Until someone started touching his face.
—I know you are awake. —Tess' familiar voice made him hide even harder in Lysa's hair. She noticed he heard her and continued. — I punched Genna.
—Deserved —Lysa murmured.
—Why? —Dalton knew Genna Lannister wasn't in good terms with most if not all of his wives, but Dalton enjoyed her honesty and Genna always had good gossip.
—She was being a bitch, like always, so I punched her. —Tess made a pause and Dalton thought she would leave him alone. —Her father saw the black eye and now thinks you did it. He's coming here and he looked really mad. He kept screaming he was going to murder you... You should probably leave.
Usually Dalton would laugh at the idea of one of his in-laws wanting to kill him. Today he knew Lord Lannister meant it. He got up and put on a long black coat to hide the fact he was wearing his nightgown. He hid two knives under his belt just in case and kissed Lysa goodbye before leaving her in the room.
—You should find Genna, apologize and ask her to clear the situation. —Tess rolled her eyes, but Dalton knew she would do it.
Three weeks trapped inside the Red Keep meant Dalton was running out of places to hide. He wished he could find one of King Maegor's secret tunnels, he definitely needed it right now. « Any Targaryen would know them. » Luckily, Dalton knew one.
—Where is prince Aegon? —He asked one of the Red Keep's servants and soon enough he was guided to his chambers.
Dalton knocked on the door and opened it. He turned around to make sure no one followed him and closed the door shut. He let out a sigh of relief and finally acknowledged Aegon. Dalton wasn't sure how to explain the situation. He wasn't sure if he wanted to explain it in the first place. The man's sister almost died. If any of his sisters were poisoned, Dalton would have gone crazy. So he tried to appear calm and collected while leaning against the wall.
—You never told me if you got to insult your father one last time.

There were some days when you just knew it wouldn’t be easy for you, and today was one of them, that was for sure. It was as if after seeing how Spencer had managed to charm your family the other night and how everything was going well in your relationship, the universe had decided to throw in some difficulties to make it interesting.
For starters, you had forgotten to buy coffee the day before so you couldn’t even have your much needed caffeine. After managing to get rid of the sleepiness with a very cold shower and getting ready, you left your apartment to get to your car, and that was when the second problem hit.
It wouldn’t start no matter how much you tried, so you had to take a taxi to your office.
And as if all that wasn’t enough, Spencer had decided to call you with some bad news as well.
“You can’t be serious,” you whined, pressing the phone to your ear as you paced in your office, “Spencer, please tell me you’re not leaving me alone at a party I didn’t even want to go to in the first place!”
“Trust me, I don’t want to.”
“You have a case,” you felt the need to repeat, “Today of all days.”
“We’re flying there in ten.”
You heaved a sigh and plopped down to the couch, nibbling your lip.
“I’m really sorry,” he said softly, “I swear I’d be there if I could.”
You sook your head, “No, don’t be sorry,” you murmured, “I get that. It’s your job. Besides, it’s probably a life or death situation if they called you guys there.”
He hummed in agreement, “Probably,” he said “But are you going to be alright?”
“I mean I’ll probably drink a lot,” you tried to joke, “And miss you for the whole night.”
“I’ll miss you too,” he confessed, “They’re sending some agents to make sure the copycat doesn’t try anything at that party if they even show up, but… Just promise me you’ll be careful.”
“When am I not careful?”
He scoffed a laugh, “Do you want a list? Because I think it’d be a long list.”
“I’m always careful!” you protested, “Also, given our occupations it’s kind of ironic to hear this from you, I’ll have you know.”
You could almost hear his smile, “Just promise me.”
“I’ll be very careful,” you said, “Cross my heart. Besides, it’s Nolan’s company, professor. No one can walk there with any weapon, it’s a security company remember? Even I am leaving my knife at home.”
“Just don’t go anywhere alone, be in the crowd for the whole time—”
“Make sure to stay where security cameras can see me, I know.” You finished his sentence for him, “It’s not my first rodeo. Relax boyfriend, it’s just one boring party. What could possibly go wrong?”
“Don’t say that,” he warned you, “Bad things happen when people say that.”
“I didn’t take you for a superstitious type, professor.”
“I’m not,” he said, “I just don’t want to take any chances. It’s already bad enough that I won’t be there.”
“You’re telling me,” you said, “I was hoping we could hook up somewhere in there, it’s a huge building.”
You heard his chuckle, “You’re incorrigible.”
“Well it’s always Mina and Kenzie who have fun in these things, for once I want to have fun too!” you defended yourself, “Besides, don’t pretend like you don’t like it.”
“Hey, I said nothing of the sort.”
“Reid, come on.” You heard Luke’s voice and Spencer sighed.
“I should go,” he told you, “I love you.”
A smile warmed your face, “I love you too,” you said, “Go save some lives.”
You hung up, then ran a hand over your face, slumping on the couch.
“Y/N?” your assistant knocked on the glass door of your office before peeking her head in, “Hi, are you busy?”
“Not really,” you sat up straighter, “What’s up?”
“You wanted me to remind you when it’s time for lunch,” she said, “Also I sent your dress for tonight to your place, the front desk will get it.”
“Thanks,” you checked the time and stood up to walk to your desk, “Damn it, I’m going to be late.”
“I also called the mechanics, but they said it would take two days for it to be fixed.”
“Today just gets better and better,” you muttered and she tilted her head,
“Are you sure you’re okay?”
“Hm?” you looked up, “Yeah, sorry. I’m fine, it’s just one of those days. Since the morning everything is going bad, and I was hoping my boyfriend would be with me at this party, but he had something to do so…”
“Maybe he can change his mind?” she suggested, “See, I had this boyfriend once, and he said he wouldn’t show up to my birthday party because we had this huge fight, but then he showed up anyway.”
“Oh it’s not like that,” you shook your head, “There’s no fight, he’s just not gonna be in the city tonight.”
She scrunched up her nose, “That sucks.”
You scoffed a laugh and grabbed your coat and your purse, “It’s fine. Where are we on the Riley wedding flower arrangement by the way?”
“All confirmed, she says she loved it,” she said and you smiled.
“Thanks,” you said as you walked to the elevator with her following you, “I’ll be back in an hour, okay? Have a nice lunch.”
                                                        ***
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Lincoln said as you sipped your rosé, looking around the restaurant you two were having lunch in, “How did you even break down your car?”
“I didn’t do anything!”
“When was the last time you took it to a mechanic to get it checked out?”
“When I bought it?” you said and he let out a chuckle.
“So you have no car for tonight?”
You pulled your brows together, “Tonight? How did you-?”
“You know we run in the same social circle right?” he said, “My dad’s company also does business with Nolan, of course I’m invited. That being said, I wasn’t sure if I would show up, but since here you are, begging me to help you—“
“I’m just eating my food here.”
“I can drive you there,” he finished his sentence as if you didn’t interrupt him and you tilted your head.
“I can just take a cab,” you said, “Or mom could send a car, it’s fine. You don’t have to.”
“Consider it my thanks for your unrequited advices on my relationship.”
“Oh you need more advice?” you perked up and he rolled his eyes.
“No.”
“You made up with your girlfriend then?”
“It’s complicated.”
“You really need to go to Italy for a surprise visit,” you pointed at him with your fork “That’d be incredibly romantic.”
“Is that right, love doctor?”
Your jaw dropped, “Come on, when have I ever failed you with my advice?” you asked, “If you love this girl, you need to show her that.”
“I’m just gonna play it cool.”
“That’s a terrible idea!” you said, “I know you’re not the romantic type, but you need to at least make an effort!”
He shot you a look “I’m a romantic.”
“Bullshit,” you let out a laugh, “You might be the most emotionally distant person I’ve seen after me, and you’re telling me you’re—“
“I believe that some people are meant to be,” he cut you off, “No matter the circumstances. Consequences be damned, anyone who thinks otherwise doesn’t deserve to be in love. I think if you’re in love, you should adore that person every day, and be there for them for better or worse. Whatever sacrifice it takes.”
You blinked a couple of times, shock coming over you, “Linc…”
“There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for the woman I love,” he told you, “Trust me. Nothing at all.”
You just gawked at him for a few seconds before you put your fork down.
“I stand corrected,” you muttered, and he grinned at you.
“Yeah, how does it feel to be wrong?”
“Oh shut up,” you said and stabbed your salad once more, ignoring his laugh.
By the time your lunch with Lincoln was over and you got back to your office, your fingers were itching to text Spencer. Reminding yourself that he was probably busy, you managed to suppress the urge and waited for the elevator doors to open.
Erica was already waiting for you by the door and you let out a whine.
“Don’t tell me,” you said, “You have bad news because today has a grudge with me.”
“I mean it’s not bad, but I figured you’d want to know.”
“Give me some good news, like you saw a puppy today or they named a whiskey after me or—“
“Your mother is waiting for you in your office.”
“I said good news, Erica.” you reminded her and made your way to your office before you opened the glass door to step inside. Your mother looked over her shoulder, sitting up straighter on the couch.
“Hi honey.”
“Hi mom,” you walked to peck her on the cheek, “What’s up? To what do I owe the pleasure?”
“I need help,” she said and you hung your coat, placed your purse on the coffee table, motioning at one of the interns for coffee before you leaned back to the table.
“Sure thing, what is it?”
“How do my nails look?” she held up her hand and you pulled your brows together.
“That’s what you need help with?” you asked “You do realize that this is why we have phones?”
“No, I wanted to talk face to face for my next question.”
“Ah, I won’t like that question will I?” you hissed in a breath, “Your nails are fine by the way.”
“It’s just that, I don’t know when Nolan will propose so I booked my nail artist for a month.”
“I want to have your problems,” you muttered as your phone buzzed and you checked the screen, then touched the text message.
From: Spencer
The power of Love borne in my lady's eyes
imparts its grace to all she looks upon.
You couldn’t help the wide smile pulling at your lips as you skimmed Dante’s lines, then thought for a moment and typed in:
See that you bless the day that I took you captive; it is your duty to do so.
“Y/N!”
You lifted your head, “Hm?”
“Are you listening to me?”
“Yeah, sorry,” you lowered the phone as the intern brought you two cups of coffee. You thanked her, then turned to your mother, “It’s just… Spencer is out of the city again, that’s why— never mind. What did you want to ask me?”
“I think I have an idea about Nolan’s proposal and this…potential marriage.”
You cleared your throat, “Uh, sorry. My client list is full.”
“Nobody buys that excuse honey.”
“I mean can you blame me?” you asked, “You would be the worst bride I’ve ever had to deal with, no offense.”
“First of all, I’ll just have a cocktail, not a wedding,” she said, “It would be inappropriate to have a wedding, considering our ages.”
“Mom!” you protested, “That’s not a thing! Anyone can have a wedding, fuck what society thinks.”
“Very delicately put, but I’ve made up my mind,” she said, “That’s not what I came here for. I decided, I want to be with Nolan and spend the rest of my life with him. So I will say yes when he proposes.”
“A surprise to no one,” you grinned and she shot you a look.
“But considering what people would think, I feel like I need to make a schedule. Do you happen to know when Spencer will propose?”
The coffee you were drinking went down the wrong tube and you started coughing, but your mother sipped her own coffee, patiently waiting for you to stop.
“Say- say what now?” you asked and she shrugged her shoulders.
“Yes, I was thinking I could stay engaged to Nolan until after your future wedding.”
“Mom we’re not— I’m—“ you stammered, “That’s not happening.”
She tilted her head, “Oh don’t be nonsense, you’re in love. Very obvious to anyone who has eyes, he couldn’t stop looking at you throughout dinner the other night.”
“Yeah but….” you cleared your throat, “I don’t think he’s planning anything like that.”
“Well—“
“I’m not going to ask him if he’s planning anything like that,” you cut her off, “I don’t live in Victorian ages, neither do you. I told you, you can get married to the eccentric billionaire puppy with a bowtie whenever you want.”
She rolled her eyes at you. “Unbelievable.”
“Right back at you lady.”
“If Nolan lets you know about when, you will tell me okay?”
“I doubt he’ll let me know, he looks like he’s got it covered.”
“And you’re still planning my cocktail party when the time comes.”
“Mom, no!” you let out a whine, throwing your head back, “Please don’t do that to me. I’m your daughter, you’re supposed to love me!”
“I do love you, that’s why I don’t trust anyone else with my wedding except for you.”
“Don’t trust me,” you said, “I’m begging you not to trust me. Planning Mina’s wedding was bad enough, you’re even a bigger control freak than she is—“
“Y/N.”
“I say that respectfully!”
She put her cup of coffee on the glass table, then stood up.
“Just remember, I absolutely hate carnation flowers and polyester gives me a rash.”
“Why does God hate me?” you wondered out loud and she kissed you on the cheek.
“I’ll see you tonight honey,” she said and walked out of your office, ignoring your overly dramatic whining. You buried your face into your palms, letting out a groan.
“I really should’ve drunk something heavier than rosé.”
                                                         ***
You had picked this dress thinking Spencer would like it, and now that he wouldn’t be there with you, you were two seconds away from changing it. You heaved a sigh, looking in the mirror before you fixed the tulle floor length skirt of the pale pink dress and pulled at the long sleeves adorned with lace. The small screen by the door lit up as it started ringing and you walked there to touch it, then told the doorman that he could send Lincoln upstairs when he told you he was there.
Soon enough, the doorbell rang and you opened it.
“Hey,” you said, grinning when he did a double take and blinked a couple of times.
“Wow.”
“Bad wow?”
“Good wow.”
“Why thanks Linc, you clean up well too. Come in!” you stepped aside so that he could enter the apartment and he looked around as you closed the door.
“Nice place.”
“Thanks,” you said and checked the time before you went to the kitchen island. “You’re early.”
“And you started early,” he nodded at the wine glass on the kitchen island, making you shrug.
“I just have one e-mail to check for confirmation, then we can go.”
“No rush,” he said, leaning back to the wall as you looked at the photos of the wedding venue for your newest client, swirling the wine in your glass.
“You want some?”
“Nah, not yet,” he said, “Work stuff?”
“Mm hm,” you mumbled, “She describes the venue she wants as boho-glam so it’s going to be pretty tough for me to find a lot of options.”
“Your job is definitely more fun than mine.”
“My job is harder than yours,” you pointed at him and he scoffed.
“How is that?”
“Have you ever dealt with an angry bride?” you asked him, “You wouldn’t last a goddamn second. Just the other day, one of them tried to make me give her a list of her wedding dress options too, the one thing I’m not responsible from.”
“I mean can you blame her?” Lincoln asked, “You obviously have a good taste, look at yourself.”
“Aw thanks Linc,” you hit send, and closed down the laptop lid before you reached for your wine glass to take a sip, taking a step towards the coffee table.
“Yeah I’ll almost feel sorry for Spencer for missing it.”
It took you a second. For a second, it was all good and then you stopped dead on your tracks, a shudder running down your spine as your brain comprehended what he just told you. You could feel the goosebumps rising on your arms as you put the glass down, your back still turned to him.
“I never told you I was dating Spencer,” you managed to mumble through frozen lips and he chuckled.
“No you didn’t,” he said, “Erica told me. Family dinner with Spencer, it was on your schedule the other night.”
Your thoughts were like a tornado in your head as your heart started slamming against your ribcage and you turned to him, your eyes finding potential weapons you could use all around the room instantly and he tilted his head.
“So I know that there are about fifty things in this room you can attack me with,” he said, “But just so you know, if you try anything, your niece goes down. You don’t want your precious Lily to have an accident, do you? Because I don’t either.”
That red haze clouded your vision for a moment as your jaw clenched.
“I’m going to kill you,” your voice didn’t even sound like it belonged to you anymore, it was way too cold, way too calm, the shock leaving its place to fury roaring through your veins. A manic smile pulled at Lincoln’s lips and that dangerous gleam which you had seen multiple times in your father’s eyes appeared in his eyes as well before he took a step towards you.
“I missed your fire,” he said as if he was in awe, “So much. It’s been a torture to keep my distance from you. But honestly, Petal,” he tut-tutted, then reached behind him and pulled out his gun to point it at you.
“You should’ve known better.”

Trans Guy Tips #5; Dressing Good
Today, we're going to talk about basic fashion, and some things trans guys specifically need to know when buying a new wardrobe.
Some of these rules can always be broken, it's your body and your choice what to put on it!
However, this is a guide for passing better, so feminine and androgynous looks will not be covered here, only the traditional masculine. I will most likely make a guide out on dressing that way later.
1. Match colors, but don't be afraid to throw in some accent detail colors! Usually when you think of fashion, you think of making everything match, however some things will go better with some contrast rather than plainly matching!
As long as it still has some similarity, it doesn't have to be the same.
The most basic rule you need to learn dressing as a man, is that you wear your belt to your shoes.
If your belt is brown, so should your shoes be.
If your belt is black, they should be black.
Usually most fashion rules can be broken, but this one seems to be very important, as it can throw off the whole appearance of an outfit to have mismatching shoes and belt.
2. Use what I call the finger trick.
When selecting a shirt, specifically a dress shirt, put your fingers in the collar between your neck and the collar.
If you can comfortably fit two or even maybe barely three fingers in there, then that's a perfect fit shirt around your neck.
If you can fit four or more fingers, it's loose and will make you look baggy and overweight.
If you can fit only one, or feel any pressure on your throat, you need a looser shirt because it's too tight.
3. Somewhat similar, but when buying pants, this may be the most important thing of all.
If you get the right set of pants, it can disguise even the biggest of curves.
You want to get what's known as a straight-leg jean pant, you can make it a cargo pant if you wish, either one looks very masculine and good.
I would usually recommend bootcut pants if you wear longer shoes, like boots, or combat boots, or anything you need to tuck the jeans into.
Always get pants that don't feel constricting, and always get them where they fit comfortably with a belt, but don't need a belt due to fitting good already.
But straight-leg type is so important to go for, it's one of the things that makes a boxy figure like a cis man's.
4. I'm not sure if this is obvious or may come as a surprise to some people, but even if you like dressing femininely, if you wish to pass, I would suggest always shopping in the men's section.
They have shirts and pants and everything else under the sun that shaped specifically for men's bodies, making yours look even more like a cis man's, which is very gender affirming. Also women's jeans are made to support the butt and make you look feminine and curvy, while men's are designed to be straight, boxy, and comfortable, usually with deep pockets too!
5. Similar to the matching rule before, you can match a busy pattern shirt with a plain pair of pants, or busy pattern and pants with a plain shirt. However if you put too many busy patterns, or too much plainness, either way makes you look not as good.
Try to balance the detail with the simplicity.
6. Overall the most masculine thing you can wear especially pre-t, is either a formal or casual suit.
You can even wear just a dress shirt with a tie or bow tie, with some dress shoes and pants, and you're good!
This just generally makes you look super masculine and it's hard to mistake.
7. if you're like me, where you like to dress flamboyantly, but you're also super dysphoric about it, wait until you get testosterone therapy.
If you end up having it and you start seeing positive effects before dressing femininely, it's great!
I did this and now I feel totally comfortable with it, as no one ever misunderstands me even if I wear the most feminine things ever.
So if you're going on t, feel free to dress more extravagantly during because you will pass even so!
8. Another way to check shirts that are long sleeved, particularly dress shirts, is to tuck it in like usual, and then lift up your arms really high like you're reaching for something.
If it untucks or lifts the fabric in an unflattering way where your armpits look huge, it's cut wrong and is not something you should buy.
9. This may be surprising to some, but yes, cis men will wear feminine designs on masculine outfits.
I can't count the number of times I've seen men wearing bright pink suits. Other times there's been crop tops, painted nails, hair done, everything.
So if you really like that button up with the flowers on it, but are feeling hesitant due to the feeling that people might judge you, don't worry!
Maybe some will, but a lot of people wear unique clothing, and no one will be as bad as what your thoughts say to you.
10. I have somewhat of a warning, as good and fun they are, t-shirts can be very revealing when it comes to showing your chest, even through your binder! Something about them isn't cut quite right, even if they come from the manliest man's site or store.
If you still wish to wear t-shirts like I do, I would recommend getting a short-sleeved or long-sleeved Dickies button up jacket/shirt that you wear open over it. Or any jacket thing, really. This covers your chest completely and negates that effect.
11. This is sort of more hygiene base but still has to do with getting dressed. Always use men's soap, and men's cologne, and men's essential oils, and men's lotion, if you have them.
Also use some aftershave, it's helpful if it has lotion mixed in and moisturizes as well.
You can even shave even if you're pre-t, due to it making a clean feeling due to there being no feminine peach fuzz on it. This can help support dysphoria relief, as well because it feels like you're shaving a beard, at least until it comes in.
When your moustache and beard do come in from testosterone, if you take it, make sure to oil it lightly with natural oils like argan oil or coconut oil, the stimulates hair growth and follicle health.
And I would recommend shaving just once as it starts developing, so it develops thicker, stronger, and more handsome.
12. If you're planning on going on t, buy at least some of your clothing a size or a few sizes up, or getting a duplicate that's larger.
You will grow, so if you buy all your clothing in a smaller size, you'll probably end up unable to use any of it.
13. Always position your belt buckle in the center of your stomach, the way you can tell if it's positioned right is if it lines up with the buttons of your button up perfectly.
14. When wearing a suit try to always keep the bottomless button unbuttoned. That button isn't actually there to be used, it's meant to be unbuttoned and it makes it look so much better.
The reason it looks so much better is because it makes it flattering and thinning. If you button all the buttons, it will make you look heavy due to it tightening around your waist and stomach.
15. You should always have at least two pairs of dress shoes. one pair that's black, and one pair that's brown. Same with belts. It's also recommended for summer that you keep one pair of masculine flip flops or sandals or sneakers around.
16. This is more of a suggestion than anything, however it's manly as fuck, and people love it.
If you carry a work knife, a pocket watch, a small portable multitool, and a handkerchief.
Possibly even a pen and small notepad with you at all times.
This may seem odd at first, but it's what men used to do constantly in the older days.
These items can come in very useful. A work knife can open packages, open letters, be used in place of scissors occasionally, and even used to defend yourself and others.
A pocket watch is just fancy and shows you're always trying to be on time.
A multi-tool shows you're ready for any task, and it can be a lifesaver in many situations!
Meanwhile a handkerchief is important, because if you ever come across someone crying, or someone wounded, you can lend them or give them your handkerchief, which is a very gentlemanly thing to do, and it can help you pass better, as well as it just being a kind thing to do for someone.
The pen and small notepad is always good to carry on you regardless of any gender, due to you needing to write things down often.
17. Ironically, although socks with sandals seems to be a fashion 'no-no' to most people, I quite like them, and it seems like I pass better with them.
Men tend to wear those slip-on flip flop things, and when you wear socks with it it makes you look very masculine, even if it may look silly to some.
Personally I like it a lot.
18. If you do wish to do makeup & nails, I would suggest doing it as black and gothic as possible, as that's the most common style guys do it as, and if you do it in a certain way, it can come out looking way masculine.
And that concludes my fifth part of this Trans Guy Tips series!
Thank you for reading, and I hope anything I said helped!
