Hello, my friend. I hope this message finds you well. 🙏
I'm Ola, a graduate student from the Faculty of Science at Al-Azhar University . I'm dedicated and passionate about becoming a good researcher and teacher.
Unexpectedly, my life took a drastic turn transforming me from a passionate student into a person struggling for survival. 🥺
My family is in a perilous situation due to the harsh conditions and the famine we have endured for 11 months. We are facing immense challenges, So I have created a campaign to help me and my family rebuild our lives and meet our basic needs for food, drink, and other essentials in these harsh conditions. This will also help me continue my education. At this critical moment, I implore you to share my campaign with your network, both offline and on social media platforms. Your advocacy is vital to our success.
All I am asking for is your support. Every simple thing makes a difference in changing the situation we are in. You can help us either by giving direct support to our campaign or simply by sharing/reblogging the pinned post on my page and/or writing a post about my campaign. This would greatly help us reach more potential donors, and I would be very grateful if you could share the campaign link with your friends and family via email or other social media platforms. ❤️
I sincerely hope you can empathize with our dire situation and consider supporting us. Please be assured that any help brings us closer to our goal, and no matter how small your donation might be, it will make a significant difference in my family's lives.
I would appreciate it if you could follow me to stay updated, as I will always need your help. 💔

people sometimes ask if I'd ever consider becoming a university professor and I'm like yeah sure I'd love to do a shit-tonne of unpaid busywork in the sexual harassment factory just so some cis guy can plagiarise my work while my debt-crushed students get arrested for daring to question why their fees are being invested in weapons companies

Basic Financial Rules To Live By 💰✨
Create a plan that shows how much money you get and how much you spend. This helps you see where your money goes.
Set aside a part of your money as savings. Try to save at least 10-20% of what you earn.
Be careful with borrowing money, especially if you have to pay back a lot of extra money (interest).
Save some money for unexpected things like medical bills or losing your job. Aim to have enough to cover your living costs for a few months.
Put your saved money into different things that can make it grow, like stocks or real estate. Be patient, as it takes time.
Don't spend more money than you make. Stick to buying what you really need, not just what you want.
Decide what you want to do with your money, both in the short term (like a vacation) and long term (like retirement).
Set up automatic transfers to your savings and bills so you don't forget to save or pay your bills on time.
Make saving money a top priority before spending on other things.
Regularly look at your money situation, adjust your plan as needed, and see how your investments are doing.
Pay your bills on time and use credit wisely (like credit cards) to keep a good credit score, which can help you get better deals on loans.
Save money for when you're older and don't work anymore. Use retirement accounts to help with this.
Think before you buy things. Don't buy something just because you want it; think if it's necessary.
Keep learning about how money works and how to make smart money choices.
Only use your emergency fund for real unexpected problems, not for things you just want to buy.

There is a theory that the way children play serves as a means to simulate and prepare them for the tasks they'll take on as adults. So for all the narrative weight both Jinx and the story give the boxing machine at the arcade it would never have prepared her or the kids to take on Piltover.
Tumblr media
What are the two things that Piltovans excel at over their Zaunite counterparts to keep the hierarchy? Weapons and technological development.
Tumblr media
When you look at the way Piltovans invest in their children, they don't prioritize hand to hand/melee combat training. Piltovans focus on giving their children experiences in handling firearms, a pursuit that is both leisure sport for the wealthy and a key offense against dissenting Zaunites.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And from the show notes even Jayce, whose family occupies the upper middle class, was sent on educational excursions across Runeterra to explore the world and learn what it had to offer. Without Jayce's education abroad he would never have been inspired to pursue the concept hextech.
It's no wonder that the two figures that are set to be Piltover's biggest threats from Zaun are Jinx and Viktor, becasue they engaged in the same kinds of games and activities as their Piltovan counterparts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jinx didn't have an entire forest preserved to help her practice her sharpshooting like the high houses of Piltover, but she did excel in the few games at The Rift (the arcade) that built on her talents. She's the only Zaunite thus far who's long distance offensive is a strong counter to Piltover's forces.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Viktor couldn't travel the world like Jayce did, but for better or worse he managed to stumble into an opportunity to get real opportunity in research not offered to his peers through Singed. It was through that experience that Viktor knew to turn to Singed when he was at the end of his rope, and the consequences of that will be fully realized in season 2.
Tumblr media
Ironically, the kind of skill the boxing game champions is only good for keeping other Zaunites in line. Vander's days of fighting Piltover were way behind him when we first met him, and Vi spends season 1 primarily fighting other Zaunites. It's no surprise the Zaunites who embody the old ideal of strength in Zaun that the game portrays, Vi and Vander, are largely at the mercy of Piltover and end up collaborating with them to avoid further harm.
Zaun's future as an independent city-state couldn't happen if they stuck to their old ideals. The people who stand a chance against Piltover are the ones that not only succeed but excel at playing Piltover's games against them.

Also, really gotta pour one out for Sevika, apparently the only committed Zaunite nationalist with even an iota of sway still breathing.

upon my rewatch of season 6 of BTVS I gotta be real here. say what you will abt Mayor Wilkins but he would NEVER have left his murder daughter to struggle alone with debts and a sister. he’d be like “sweetie you own real estate that people live in, why are you working a minimum wage job?.. come now I am going to teach you the most useful evil skill you’ll ever learn, it’s called Being a Landlord” and then pay all her bills and make her drink her milk bc calcium is important

i hope you, your family and your community are well. if this goes against any boundaries there’s no pressure at all to respond, i know this has been weighing on all of us in different ways and it’s completely valid if you don’t want to engage with it like that. i was just curious if you were open to a conversation about your beliefs (surrounding israel)- not a debate, i’m just genuinely interested in what you have to say. we might not see eye to eye but as a lebanese person it’s been important to me throughout all of this to hear a range of different voices/perspectives and i think disagreeing and understanding aren’t mutually exclusive. if you’re open to that i’d love to find a way to talk, if not that’s okay!
sending so much love to you and the jewish community at large, both in israel and the diaspora all around the world. i have always admired the way your community has persevered and flourished in the face of persecution and no war will change that.
hey friend from the north 👋🏼
im not only open, but would love to have the most open conversation with you!
i have actually mentioned in many occasions on my posts that i think that people here tend to talk over us so much and patronize us, that they will be shocked with how i view many things. also, don’t get me started on how i’m seen in the israeli society lol it’s why i answer many times with the same thing “would you like to ask me if i agree with that, or are you just going to put words in my mouth, so i can fit your narrative?” they’re 100% sure that we’re all dumb and oblivious monster with a beehive mind.
sending the warmest regards to you and your family!

Started watching 3BSkyen’s helluva reaction and while I don’t agree with certain things, he called the show sincere and self-indulgent and honestly.. that is accurate and also such a big reason to why I love it so much. (He also mentioned the thing about Marvel that I’ve mentioned before)
Honestly I can appreciate most things if you can just tell that the creator loves their product. You feel that with helluva. The creators are doing a show THEY want to do and are inviting you to witness it. It’s ultimately for them but it also resonates with people like them. I think that’s a big reason as to why I don’t mind the tonal whiplash or whatever else people like to point out makes the show lesser. Cus to me it’s just proof of them being able to do whatever they want. This show is free as fuck.. they are able to tell the story however they want to and I’m just enjoying the ride and seeing what they can come up with.
Like…I have been a movie fan for such a loong time. Especially animation. Me and my father share this hobby and we’ve both gotten very good at predicting what’ll happen just cus of pattern recognition. This makes helluva so exciting for me, cus they don’t have to follow the mold. They don’t have to use the same established tools as anyone else and therefor… I’ve never been fully sure about what they’re gonna do. Which is also why I’m perfectly fine with their use of clichés. Cus, ye sure they’re overused in general BUT they’re not usually used in this setting.
So I’m perfectly content with the classic romantic tropes and ”cringiness” because who wouldve put that in a gorey, sexually deviant show about demons in hell? Starring a gay couple too???
I don’t care what they could’ve done, I’m really only interested in what they will do. I want to know THEIR vision. I wanna know THEIR way of doing it. Nothing they’ve done has hindered me in following the story or getting to know the characters. I honestly feel like I know them really really well, so I’m really really good.

what Hewn City worldbuilding details are you most proud of?
That time I mapped out the entire tax structure to understand how Velaris and Rhysand were so rich with no income tax 🤨
The answer is their economy needs to be exporting huge amounts of high value added products (eg jewellery and pharmaceuticals) and depends on military and political stability

My therapist gave me a great reframing of something I'd been thinking abt recently! I had a uh :) tumultuous childhood :)c and since like, god, idk 5 or so I'd always been kind of a loner either by choice or by circumstance. It's not really a unique situation for kids and I've always been a little off-put by the notion I was "more mature than kids my age". Especially since I knew a lot of kids through my childhood that were similar to me and none of us were really "mature" as adults defined it when it was just us kids (moved around a lot so I had a sampler platter of peers).
This all to say, I shared that I was still a child, I had a child's developing mind, and I still had a child's needs whether or not they were apparent. One of the biggest things is I never learned uh I guess "social play" because I never had social connections that were stable until I was like 16 or 17. My mother also agreed that I just never really "played" like other kids (instead I was reading 400 - 500 page books at 6 years old and preferring puzzles to the jungle gym). The answer that is always floated in general for kids like this is "you're somewhere on the spectrum, duh" which, even if true, is reductive to children's development AND dismissive of environmental factors that affect neurodivergent and neurotypical children without discrimination. I MIGHT be on a spectrum but I'm not really interested in finding a label - - just knowing myself! And I know! This was more linked to environmental factors than anything that can be tidily wrapped into "neurodivergent kid experiences". Other kids I knew like me were not always ND - - kids are sophisticated adapted learners, so they LEARN their environment as NT or ND either way.
Anyway, I have convoluted thoughts on it all and my therapist just like stabbed thru the ice and said:
"It sounds like as a kid your play was playing as an adult. Would you agree?"
And my mom and I just kinda leaned back and thought like jesus? Yeah I guess? At 5 I began to stifle emotions bc I was mimicking adults and was trying to not be another squeaky wheel during a really hellish time for us. It wasn't until I was 25 that I began to process emotions, even more recently did I begin to process non-judgementally. I didn't learn how kids play with each other bc I was mostly given opportunity to just play as an adult. :/
Idk it's part of a greater realization that I'm learning how to be a social animal and how to participate in social play in my late 20s. It's really nice to feel part of a pack for once, but kinda crazy that I missed these major interpersonal milestone experiences at critical ages. Thank God I took the college exams at 12 though, that sure made up for it huh. Idk maybe that's why it's been a learning curve as I play around w the kids in my life rn. "What do kids even do?" no wonder I ask that bc I am just now doing kid stuff too!! Turns out kids are great and just want to be genuinely engaged with when they share :) I'm an adult playing as a kid and it's nice!

WE'VE VILLAINIZED THE EGO AND IT DESTROYED US
Most people do not even believe in themselves.
This is why, even though they are absolutely capable of creating empires, they do not go from thinking to acting.
We say to people: Drop your ego and you will succeed. The ego is evil, it is bad.
When, in reality, without an ego, without an outward projection, without self-belief, you can NOT succeed.
"The ego is bad."
No, it's not. It's the use of the ego that makes it bad.
If you have no idea who you are and what's holding you back or what powers lie deep inside, how are you going to move forward?

when I grow up I want to live. I want to live somewhere with a forest and a river nearby, and pretty colorful tiles and archways in my doors. I want to invite my friends over to my house to eat, and to play board games, and have a sourdough starter and get really good at making bread and pasta. I want a cat. I want to be able to see something pretty at a store and buy it for myself, no mater what kind of price tag might be on it. I want to rest well, and I want to plant a garden on the side of my house, and I want to grow food, and give it to my friends. I want to have a place where I can go to make my pottery.
I want to live.
