Edwin, Charles, and Monty Finch-Rowland (Amnesia Fic)

Occasionally memories surface and dissolve across his brain like melting candy floss, sometimes not even full images or scenes but instead sensations.

At the mention of exotic fruits in the garden, Edwin tastes pineapple juice on his mouth, despite the fact that Edwin has only drank it the one time. When saxifrage is mentioned, he remembers tucking a flower behind someone's ear, the petals and their curls soft against his fingers. When someone casually mentions the King of the Underworld sending yellow roses, Edwin remembers a flash of righteous anger and the memory of Thomas King being nowhere near the wedding.

Edwin remembers pain and these two- these four- being his relief.

He doesn't know why the memories are only coming now, when they didn’t when he was believing the wrong things, when he was terrified beyond compare and needed the relief far more.

Is it because his brain isn't running on panic and fear and dread 24/7?

Is it because he feels safe?

sobbing I read the J'onn-centric JLTAS book and my god I love him

likes alone time on occasion, much as he enjoys the League's company, but also won't ask the others not to bother him bc he doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings

but shapeshifting takes a LOT out of him. like, they hit this pretty hard in the comics, but it takes a LOT a lot. becoming intangible is no issue however.

he's silly. oh my god. he got distracted trying to read / understand Hamlet and didn't put away the device he was literally on the Watchtower to guard. the Injustice Gang showed up and J'onn really went ah fuck and shoved the device under his bed.

worth noting that this book really lets you in on how low J'onn's power level is. like he's extremely susceptible to every attack so DCAU nerfing him is very real. he almost blacks out multiple times during fights and it takes an incredible amount of concentration to do, like, pretty much everything aside from the telepathy, intangibility, and flight. but he's extremely smart to make up for it :] and again. very silly. and great at being sarcastic. 💖

"What do you mean?" There's some shuffling on Trapper's side of the tent but Hawk doesn't dare look at him. "Well, some of those magazines you get have more cock than cunt. Would'a been hell sharin' one of those." Hawkeye bubbles up with a giggle and hopes Trapper doesn't hear the sudden panic behind it. "Oh, yeah, absolutely." Trapper chuckles right along with him. "Imagine that fantasy-trading, eh? 'Geez, get a load of that guy. Hung like a fuckin' horse. If he's got you backed up against that fence, are you gonna suck him off or bend over the post for him?'" He is absolutely out of his mind, talking like that, the son of a bitch. Hawk rakes a hand through his hair and ducks his head so Trap won't see his wince. "Mm, for sure." "S'an easy answer anyway." Trapper goes on as though Hawkeye hasn't said a word. "I mean, y'know, say you were in a situation where you had to let a guy use one of your holes or else he'd kill you or somethin'. You've got your mouth or your ass, that's it. No hand stuff. We all know every fella's gonna pick the ass-fuck."

When the nurses conduct a second sex strike, the men have to find creative ways to satisfy their desperation. Hawkeye proposes to Trapper a couple of particularly unique options. But it's okay, it's not going to fuck up their friendship, not even a little bit. Right?

I’ve never done that before and for the ambiance I thought about which one could be played (I have 4 songs for now). I’m thinking about doing this on Spotify, even though I don’t really use Spotify, so if you have any advice I’ll take those willingly.

Our biggest haul, babeeeeeeeeey! Major update, guys! :D I've gotten small bios for every single character on this 60+ multimuse blog and most of them have graphics on the main blog! And are ready to go! Yay, I'm out of coding hell! Lillie (Pokémon), Plumeria (Pokémon), Castiel (Supernatural), Ryoko (Pokémon), Fujimoto (Pokémon), Lore (HEARTBOUND), Gregory (FNAF), and Glamrock Freddy (FNAF) are still in need of graphics and are incomplete, but their bios are at least complete. I still need to work on bio summaries for those who don't have it, but there's still bio info on there!

The links in the description for the main blog, not the mobile one, don't work? For some reason? At least it works on the mobile blog and the same links can be accessed in the navigate area, so I'm not too worried about it for now. There's a lot with this update I can't list it all, but I have updated PSDs, changed blog colors to make it more noticeable, and other things. Secretary General António Guterres to appoint a senior coordinator “with responsibility for facilitating, coordinating, monitoring, and verifying in Gaza, as appropriate, the humanitarian nature” of all assistance, and demands that “the parties to the conflict cooperate with the coordinator to fulfill their mandate without delay or obstruction.” • ... “immediate and unconditional” release of the hostages. It also demands that “all parties to the conflict comply with their obligations under international law ... including with regard to the conduct of hostilities and the protection of civilians and civilian objects.” • It reiterates the council’s “unwavering commitment” to a two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians and “stresses the importance of unifying the Gaza Strip with the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority.” (12/22/23 | Source: WaPo)

Although the resolution's language was toned down, this is a sign of progress. While such measures are long overdue and should have been honored from the start, we must do everything possible to meet the urgent humanitarian needs in Gaza and relieve unfathomable suffering.

Hard to believe Nine Inch Nails' classic The Downward Spiral is 30 years old today! Here is some detail photography I took of the original album cover painting by Russell Mills for the 10th anniversary deluxe edition release, which I had the unique honor of designing, and somehow that is now 20 year old.

Everyone has that one album that hit at just the right moment of adolescence to change their perspective on music and get them through their teenage angst. The Downward Spiral was that album for me, released as it was in 1994, when I was a freshman in high school (and an absolute banner year for music/films/games all around). I must have stared at the artwork for hours over those years, without even much detail to draw from on its tiny 5” CD slip case. So five years later, when I found myself inexplicably working for Nine Inch Nails, it was surreal to see the actual original painting in the flesh, hanging as it was at the time in Trent Reznor’s office at Nothing Studios, New Orleans.

I was struck by how much dimension and texture there was in the artwork that never translated on that tiny slipcase printing, how much detail was happening in the physical materials of the art: Flies, moths, wires, blood… I had been staring at this “painting” for so long, yet suddenly it was like I had never seen it before. I also noticed that it had aged - the wires had wilted over the years, drooping down from their original position as captured in the original album cover (interestingly, judging by the photo posted today by NIN, the piece has since been restored); a tooth was missing from the other main piece.

That experience stuck with me and it was the first thing I thought about when the task of re-imagining the album package fell upon me in 2004. I wanted to re-photograph the artwork, subtly updating the cover to show that ten years had changed it physically, much like our perceptions of art and music and memories change over time with perspective. I also wanted to dig into the previously unseen details of the work and explore it with my macro lens, so that fans like me, old and new, could have new layers of texture to pore over for hours while listening to a legendary album.
