Still not quite used to Clip Studio Paint, the brushes feel stiffer to use and I think it shows but alas

have been in a qijiu/qiyuan mood lately, and i was thinking about an au where shen yuan, upon transmigrating, actually loses his memories. he wakes up and has no idea who he is, where he is, who the man at his bedside is. not a clue. the only thing he has is his muscle memory, his sharp recognition senses (he's experiencing a lot of déjà-vu), and blurry fractions of memories that he can't quite make out.

thing is, the memories of both shen yuan and shen jiu aren't actually gone, they start to intermingle, to mix up, a little sister in princess pajamas beside an older brother wearing dirty rags, a bright screen that displays mountain peaks and glittering caves. he's kind and generous the way someone who has never had to worry about food or money is, but he gets vicious and defensive when someone gets too close. sometimes he says cruel things and doesn't even understand why himself.

neither identity fits anymore, both names right and wrong at the same time. it's just... shen qingqiu.

and while everyone else might adjust to this just fine, yue qingyuan does not. because that is shen jiu, but it isn't, but it has to be, but not always. he gets flashes of his childhood friend when shen qingqiu gets viciously defensive over nothing, when he scowls and scoffs and rolls his eyes when he thinks people can't see, but then he smiles, and laughs, and tilts his head in a way that is completely foreign. he likes beasts. shen jiu never liked beasts. but he loves tanghulu, like shen jiu. sweet sugary things. the first time xiao jiu cuddles up into his hug, he cries.

the way he sometimes clings to yue qingyuan when he has a bad day can't be him, but then he says "qi-ge" exactly like shen jiu would and damn near snarls at anyone who gets too close, and he's aggressively possessive the way he was when they were kids. but then he pulls away and apologizes, like shen jiu would never do.

and he never demands anything, scrubbed clean from roughness and filth and selfish want, will act perfect and smiling and pleasant, never burdensome. like he's completely forgotten where he came from, what he was. like the pampered nobleman's son who could afford to be kind. the only time his old self comes fully back up is when he feels threatened or scared or angry, like a trauma response that kicks in to protect himself. and then yue qingyuan starts to wonder if maybe it is. maybe the shen jiu he knows was only ever fear and self-preservation, and the one he is now is a shen jiu without the chains and shackles and scars.

yue qingyuan doesn't know if he's happy for him, if it's for better or for worse. he does know that he feels protective and responsible for this new version xiao jiu has become.

meanwhile shen qingqiu, even when he regains enough of his memories to realize he was once a different person, doesn't know who he is anymore. both, maybe. or neither. he feels bad for taking away yue qingyuan's friend, but in his heart he can't help but think qi-ge is his brother, and no one else's. when he manages the peak he feels like he's taking credit for another's accomplishments, but he remembers suffering for it, he remembers what it took to get there.

Amnesia AU

An AU where Danny gains amnesia after getting captured by the GIW. He gets saved by the Justice League just after they discover Superboy, trying to find out if any of them have been cloned. When they save Danny they don’t know that he is a ghost or halfa, not that Danny knows that either, and have him join the Young Justice League. He and Superboy become best friends, Danny often messing with Superman for his clonist bullshit on Superboy’s behalf. They become each other’s pillars in a world that is unfamiliar and against them.

So imagine John Constantine’s surprise to find the missing Ghost King, who’s people he has been trying to keep from declaring war against this dimension to find him, calling Superman “Captain Primary Color Palette” in the Justice League watchtower.

Amnesia Killugon fanfiction is always one of two things depending on who has the memory loss.

Either Killua has amnesia and Gon is there and it's adorable or he isn't there and Killua must suffer with his family before Gon saves him again. As if the poor thing hasn't suffered enough, but Gon is The Light (TM) and it's super cute how Killua falls in love again very quickly.

Or Gon has amnesia and it's sad as all fuck! Killua is gonna pretend not to be his friend because of insecurity and fucking leave and Gon will feel something missing and not know why he's sad and it's just horribly depressing and it takes way too long for Gon to hunt down Killua or for Killua to come back to him. Or Killua stays around to like protect him or something while he's heart is breaking in two and he's mean and standoffish to Gon to try to distance himself which will not work.

I am very displeased that the Rom Com element is missing from this AU type in Killugon.

Where is the Gon has amnesia and refuses to accept that Killua is anyone or anything other than his husband? (funnier the younger they are) At the very least Gon should just instinctively know that Killua is his favorite person and be insanely affection and make Killua such a flustered mess that he doesn't have time to be sad.

I'd really love to get a bullheaded Gon that just knows like he knows that water is wet that Killua is his favorite person of all time and just refuse Killua's leaving bs.

Maybe even some.

"So you said we aren't friends or best friends.... I know! We must be boyfriends!"

Since Killua has the strongest reaction to this one Gon decides he's right and runs with it with adorably funny results.

Like just chill out with the angst. Let Gon be an adorable ray of sunshine that destroys Killua's sad like it owes him money please!

Go,” Lan Wangi struggled to spit out each word, barely holding back his ire, his hands tightening around Wei Wuxian’s forearms. Dumbfounded, Wei Wuxian looked wide-eyed from Lan Wangji’s face to the ribbon in his hands then back again, considering his options. “No.” “WEI YING!”

“Let go.” Lan Wangji repeated, a veiled threat in his tone. “No,” Wei Wuxian said. He felt particularly crazy at that moment. “It’s mine.” Lan Wangji bristled at that. “No, it is not!” “That’s too bad.” Their faces were close now, allowing Wei Wuxian to lift his head enough to press their foreheads together, Lan Wangji’s forehead ribbon between them. “Because I’m not giving it back!” Lan Wangji clenched his jaw at the audacity. Lan Wangji pushed further against his forehead. “You don’t even know its significance!” “Ha! And what gave you that impression?”

Lan Wangji turned to see Wei Wuxian extend his hand out, offering the forehead ribbon. “Here.” Lan Wangji's face remained stoic but it felt like he was scowling. “I thought you said it was yours.” “It is but you need it to save face. We wouldn’t want the other Lans to think you give it away so frivolously. I’ll allow you to borrow it for now.” “How kind of you.” Lan Wangji reached out to take his ribbon only for Wei Wuxian to softly hold his hand. Once he took hold of the fabric, he was forced to drag his hand out of Wei Wuxian’s hold.

He didn’t turn around. “Do you still wish to impress the one you love?” Now it was Wei Wuxian’s turn to be quiet. Finally, he laughed a small laugh. “I will never stop trying to impress him.” Lan Wangji felt tense, his stomach constricted in knots. “But at any point, have I?” Feeling composed enough to face him, he turns, robe in hand. “‘Have you,’ what?” “Impressed you?” Wei Wuxian looked at him head on, his cheeks dusted pink. Lan Wangji stilled, his heart picking up speed, the knots unwinding. He knew his ears were as pink as those cheeks.

He came up to the bed and sat beside Wei Wuxian. “You have. Many times.” Lan Wangji caressed his face and leaned his forehead against Wei Wuxian’s. “You won me over long ago.” The smile he received at that was brighter than the morning sun. “I’ll make sure to keep doing so.”

Okay, why there's still nothing with amnesia+mpreg?

What if Buck wakes up in the hospital room with Tommy's sitting next to him. Doctor comes, makes some tests, smiles and tells "Everything's alright with you and with your baby". And Buck is like 'What baby? I don't have a baby' And then he pulls up his shirt, and looks at his big very pregnant belly.

Buck's confused, the doctor's concerned, Tommy's terrified. If Evan forgot about their baby, what else he forgot? Their relationship? Their break up? Their make up? Their happy news about the pregnancy? Their moving in? Did he forget him, Tommy, too?

Apparently the last thing Buck remembers is Maddie giving birth to his nephew. Tommy lets a relaxed sigh, by that time they've been back together for a few months, Evan remembers him.

But Buck still doesn't remember the baby! The baby who should be out in two weeks. And Buck isn't ready for that.

Have a messy Rexwalker AU

Anidala were casual, there was flirting with Rex but it never went anywhere. Anakin doesn't get barbecued and ends up as Suitless Vader, so the Vader identity is more or less public.

Vader is Captured ™️ by a miscellaneous individual, and Sheevy Boy doesn't care enough to find him.

Instead, Rex stumbles across captured Vader, who is:

A cute girl now

An amnesiac of the fantasy "I don't remember who I am, only have the faintest flashes of my old life" variety

Rex steals Anakin. And kind of... does the questionable thing:

Implies they were a couple, affianced, prior to Her Head Injury.

Rex builds a life of domestic bliss on LIES in the back end of nowhere.

Ahsoka is horrified when she finds them, even though it means Vader isn't so much an issue anymore.

He tries to say it's for the greater good (he'll tell her the truth eventually! When he's sure she won't go back to Sheev!) But uhhhhh he's Guilty Happy whenever she hugs him or gives him a cheek kiss etc.

Waking up in the same bed almost makes him cry with emotion.

(The intended implication of Anakin not noticing anything is wrong wrt gender and the surgeries is that she was never cis in the first place and just. Didn't realize. Could be fully binary trans, could be gender indifferent. Won't know until the truth comes out that she wasn't Always Like This.)

It takes a while for Eddie to realize Buck’s tense and stiff as a board in his arms and that he’s not responding to any of Eddie’s touches with the usual eagerness and earnestness as only Buck can be. “Buck, baby?” His voice comes out all croaky from the tiredness and from only just waking up. “What’s wrong?” “I’m sorry, I, uh, I don’t-” Buck stutters, crawling out of bed and getting his legs all tangled in the sheets in his haste.
