Hi, I’m going to ignore your patronising tone here just to say, I realise that it’s thousands of people. I didn’t say otherwise.
The Israeli public isn’t dumb, we know of the deaths of Palestinian while incarcerated , which is exactly the reason for the initial inquiry I quoted at the first post. Be for real.
-Hear me out- a 17 year old stabbing someone may be a minor, but he’s still a felon🤯
-And what pray tell happened between October 2023 and August 2024? Cmon, the thousands of people mentioned here are mostly Hamas / Islamic jihad terrorists directly involved in the October 7th attack . Intel gathered from them saved thousands of lives, on both sides.
Anyways- this post is a great answer to your weird take:m, I suggest you read it:
instagram
I’m not going to further talk about this, have a lovely day!
More on how Anti-Zionists use the word "hostages"
There are no "Thousands of Palestinian hostages held by Israel". Please stop spamming every post about the 98 Israeli hostages currently held captive by Hamas with bullshit like this.
Cmon, we all know this is just cheap dog-whistling and wring, considering that there are 98 Israeli hostages held in Gaza right now. Anyways, here are some facts: Israeli news outlet Ynet just made an initial report on this matter, I'm transcribing it to English and will provide any additional detail if provided. Israel's supreme court demanded the state to provide information on how many Palestinians are held under custody in different correctional facilities. There are currently 3,464, and 151 were released for various reasons. The update was provided due to a petition by the Public Committee Against Torture in Israel
Why are they held captive? The majority of them are Illegal immigrants & felons, and many are terrorists. That's it. That's extremely different from being kidnapped from your bed for being Jewish after seeing your family slaughtered.

Our dreams have been destroyed, and we have nothing left...😞
You're our last hope in this life🫂
I'm Lama from Gaza, I'm 24 years old, and my husband is Mohammad... We got married in 2022 in a house full of love and happiness. Our house was beautiful, we chose everything in it carefully... We were waiting for the end of the day to go there after a tiring day of work, but the occupation did not leave us. 😔😭💔
This house was bombed with all hatred. Here we are after the genocide. We have nothing... We lost our house, our work, and our car.😭😞
We were displaced to Rafah in a tent that could not accommodate 5 people, and after the displacement from Rafah, we were displaced to Mawasi Khan Yunis again. It was a very difficult period... but now we are in Mawasi Khan Yunis in a tent that does not protect us from the cold of winter or the heat of summer.😞😭
This is our tent, its floor is made of cardboard, as you can see, and I suffer from severe eczema due to the pollution of the air and the materials used, and the medicine is very expensive.😭💔
Urgent: My husband needs a very necessary operation and medication. Please help my husband in order for his health to improve. He is in pain.😞😭🫂🙏🙏
Help us and donate to us. You are our last hope and the lifeline of this life. 🫂🙏
We need you...Donate to us and save what is left of us.😞🙏🙏

It's like calling you "Germanphobic" for being against the Nazis!
Getting called Islamophobic for condemning the likes of Hamas and Hezbollah is truly, truly tone deaf.
So you're saying to me that you think the likes of Hamas, a genocidal terrorist organisation responsible for massacring, raping, and torturing civilians, and oppressing and brutalising their *own* people represent the beliefs and views of almost 2 billion Muslims in the world and you have the audacity to call others Islamophobic?!
Just say you think Muslims can't be expected to behave better and go, and take your reprehensible noble savage shit with you.

From River To The Sea Palestine Will Be Free 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
-----
Edit 1: took the first video down because turns out the animator is a terf and it links to her blog. Really sorry for any distress.
Edit 2: All recommended readings + Haymarket recommendations + essential decolonization texts have been uploaded to my linked gdrive. I will adding more periodically. Please do buy or check them out from the library if possible, but this post was made for and by poor and gatekept Global South bitches like me.
Some have complained about the memes being disrespectful. You're actually legally obligated to make fun of Israeli propaganda and Zionists. I don't make the rules.
Edit 3: "The river to the sea" does not mean the expulsion of Jews from Palestine. Believing that is genocide apologia.
Edit 4: Gazans have specifically asked us to put every effort into pushing for a ceasefire instead of donations. "Raising humanitarian aid" is a grift Western governments are pushing right now to deflect from the fact that they're sending billions to Israel to keep carpet bombing Gazans. As long as the blockades are still in place there will never be enough aid for two million people. (UPDATE: PLEASE DONATE to the Gazan's GoFundMe fundraisers to help them buy food and get out of Rafah into Egypt. E-SIMs, food and medical supplies are also essential. Please donate to the orgs linked in the How You Can Help. Go on the strikes. DO NOT STOP PROTESTING.)
Edit 5: Google drive link for academic books folder has been fixed. Also have added a ton of resources to all the other folders so please check them out.
Edit 6: Added interactive maps, Jadaliya channel, and masterlists of donation links and protest support and of factsheets.
The twitter accounts I reposted as it was given to me and I just now realized it had too many Israeli voices and almost none of the Palestinians I'm following, so it's being edited. (Update: done!) also removed sources like Jewish Voices of Peace and Breaking the Silence that do good work but have come under fair criticism from Palestinians.
Edit 7: Complete reformatting
Edit 8: Complete revamping of the social media section. It now reflects my own following list.
Edit 9: removed some more problematic people from the allies list. Remember that the 2SS is a grift that's used to normalize violence and occupation, kids. Supporting the one-state solution is lowest possible bar for allyship. It's "Free Palestine" not "Free half of Palestine and hope Israel doesn't go right back to killing them".
Edit 10: added The Palestine Directory + Al Jazeera documentary + Addameer. This "100 links per post" thing sucks.
Edit 11: more documentaries and films
Edit 12: reformatted reading list
Edit 13: had to remove @palipunk's masterlist to add another podcast. It's their pinned post and has more resources Palestinian culture and crafts if you want to check it out
Edit 14 6th May '24: I've stopped updating this masterlist so some things, like journalists still left in Gaza and how to support the student protests are missing. I've had to take a step back and am no longer able to track these things down on my own, and I've hit the '100 links per post' limit, but if you can leave suggestions for updates along with links in either the replies or my asks I will try and add them.
Edit 15 10th August: added to Palestinian allies list and reworked the Help for Palestine section. There's been a racist harrassment campaign against the Palestinian Tumblrs that vetted the Gaza fundraisers based off one mistake made by a Gazan who doesn't understand English. If you're an ally, shut that shit down. Even if you donate to a scam GFM, you're only out some coffee money; if everyone stops donating to all the GFMs in fear of scams, those families die.
Edit 16: removed entire section of allied accounts since the liberation of Syria because apparently leftists in the West are unable to both be against the Israel's genocide of Palestinians and Assad's genocide of Syrians. I should have treated the use of "Axis of Resistance" as the Tankie dog whistle it was.
Edit 17: Removed the Uncommitted Movement to pressure the Harris Presidential Campaign for obvious reasons.
Edit 18: Operation Olive Branch has come under fire for their lack of transparency, unethical behaviour and reporting their own volunteers to the FBI. Always be wary of white people spearheading anything to do with liberatory movements, from conversations to organizations.

Today marks the 76th anniversary of the Nakba, the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians to make way for Israel in 1948.
Over 750,000 Palestinians were displaced that day. This did not start on October 7th.
Know their history, fight for their future. 🍉

Also as a follow up question, does anyone have thoughts or know sources about what Israelis and Palestinians would like the support from western movements to look like? I mean listening to I/p peace-seeking voices and groups and amplifying those is a given, but beyond that? Cause what the Israel government is horrific, and there are evidence of genocide and of course the rest of the world must work to stop that. And the same goes for Hamas. And for me it’s kind of a natural step to start protesting if the world isn’t doing their duty and working to protect human rights. But that seems to have caused harm as well. Is it that protesting would have been the right approach, just that people aren’t doing it from the right perspective, or would another approach have been better?
And I understand that these are huge questions and with no right answer, but if anyone knows any good blog posts or articles or podcasts or whatever that provides some insight into this I would be very grateful.
If anyone has any good sources or advice for how to advocate for Palestinian rights without accidentally falling into antisemitic rhetoric or indirectly supporting antisemitic rhetoric that would be very much appreciated

RAFAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — More than half a million people in Gaza — a quarter of the population — are starving, according to a report Thursday by the U.N. and other agencies that highlights the humanitarian crisis caused by Israel’s bombardment and siege on the territory in response to Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack. The extent of the population’s hunger eclipsed even the near-famines in Afghanistan and Yemen of recent years, according to figures in the report. The report warned that the risk of famine is “increasing each day,” blaming the hunger on insufficient aid entering Gaza. “It doesn’t get any worse,’’ said Arif Husain, chief economist for the U.N.’s World Food Program. “I have never seen something at the scale that is happening in Gaza. And at this speed.” ... At the start of the war, Israel stopped all deliveries of food, water, medicine and fuel into the territory. After U.S. pressure, it allowed a trickle of aid in through Egypt. But U.N. agencies say only 10% of Gaza’s food needs has been entering for weeks. (Dec. 21, 2023 | Source)

As a leftist Jew who believes strongly in the cause of dignity and freedom for the Palestinian people, and that Israel has abused them, I am begging fellow leftists to understand that real life is not a comic book. A government being “the bad guy” in a situation does not automatically make anyone who opposes it “the good guy”.
Hamas denies the Holocaust. Hamas disseminates the Protocols of the Elders of Zion—the conspiracy theory it paints is what they mean by “Zionist”. Hamas forbids foreign aid educators from teaching human rights to Palestinians, and claims that even teaching that the Holocaust happened is a war crime. Hamas has written the aim of annihilating Israel (the country and its people) into its charter—the mass slaughter and violent expulsion of 7 million Jews from the land is written into its laws.
There is no crime any state could ever do that would justify any of that; there is no act of state repression that could ever make it acceptable to side with the organization spreading Nazi pamphlets and Holocaust denial.
Oppose Bibi Netanyahu. Oppose Israel’s far-right, authoritarian government. Oppose Likud’s policies. Oppose its violence against Palestinian civilians. That isn’t antisemitic. But Hamas is—verifiably, beyond a shadow of a doubt, to its core—antisemitic. Its portrayal of Israeli Jews as blood-thirsty, child-killing master manipulators that control international media and finance is antisemitic. Its insistence that Palestinian freedom necessitates the death & expulsion of Jews from the land is antisemitic. Its redefinition of “Zionism” as a pejorative to mean genocidal Jewish/Israeli Supremacy is antisemitic.
Supporting the Palestinian people in their plight is a noble and loving goal; please never stop that. But do not let Hamas co-opt that into excusing or denying their rampant antisemitism and war crimes.
#I am terrified every time the Israel-Palestine conflict makes the news here#bc I inevitably see American leftists regurgitate Hamas propaganda with zero critical thought#and that unfortunately includes Jewish Anti-Zionists#Israel#Palestine#israel palestine conflict#jumblr#antisemitism#edit: I removed reference to Israel’s policies as ‘apartheid’ which I’ve increasingly come to see as an inaccurate & unhelpful comparison

A call to all friends who support the Palestinian cause.🙏💔
Today, the doctors decided to perform a fourth operation on my father, who was injured at the beginning of the war on Gaza. This operation is very difficult and is the only way to save him from walking on his feet again. I hope everyone will donate. I will attach photos of the operation and documents related to my father. I hope everyone will participate and donate.

And all they have to do is cry "colonizers!" at the Jews so that they can pretend that it was the Palestinian Arabs who were there first...
just thinking about how leftists conveniently only hate indigenous self determination when it’s Jews… sorry, Zionists, my bad

"The deal, coming after weeks of painstaking negotiations in the Qatari capital, promises the release of dozens of hostages held by Hamas in phases, the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in Israel and would allow hundreds of thousands of people displaced in Gaza to return to what remains of their homes. It also would flood badly needed humanitarian aid into a territory ravaged by 15 months of war."

I think people need to understand that when someone says the situation in Israel/Palestine is complicated they are not necessarily saying that the discussion of who the oppressor vs oppressed is complicated. The Israeli government has been oppressing the Palestinians for a very long time, that is clear, and it is not complicated to understand that at least since the 80s they have had dramatically more financial and military power to keep control of the territory in the way they like.
However, it is reductive and dismissive to insist that there is no complexity in the potential ways to move forward to bring peace to the region. Despite what people on tumblr.edu like to believe, "Israel should never have been created" is not a practical solution to an incredibly heated geopolitical situation in the present day. Israel was created and it does exist. 10 million people live there. 74% of the population is native born and the country has existed for 75 years. Hand waving these fact away with the opinion that "they should move back to where they came from" may make you feel good about being a Radical Leftist, but it does not give anyone a road map for how exactly millions of people without dual citizenship are supposed to just up and evaporate. Nor does it acknowledge the reality that 21% of Israelis are Arabs, the very people you are claiming to want to give the land back to.
Insisting that there's nothing complicated about expecting an entire country's population to willingly dissappear with no consequences is not a productive way to think about this conflict. It ignores the many massive superpowers that have an interest in proping up different states in the region, the power dynamics involved in any land back movements, and the inevitably negative consequences of totally dissolving an established state without a plan. It is also completely and almost comically unrealistic, so much so that it makes it hard to believe that anyone who's opinion starts and ends with this idea really gives a shit about anyone who lives in the area as much as they care about their online leftist clout.
There's nothing complicated in understanding that the Israeli government is and has been maintaining an oppressive apartheid state for decades. It is, however, very complicated to come up with a realistic way to resolve some of the most intricately entangled land disputes on the planet without plunging the region into total chaos. Not everyone has to be deeply educated on every geopolitical situation, but it is very hard to take people seriously when they know nothing about the politics or history of a region and yet insist that there is nothing complicated about it at all.
There's a lot of people on this website who are getting dangerously smug about their own ignorance, and are starting to go down Qanon type anti-intellectual paths in the name of being sufficiently radical. Not knowing the details of a very convoluted land dispute isn't something to brag about online as you call for intentionally reductive solutions. You can support the Palestinian cause and be aware of the oppression they have faced while also holding off on calling people trying to do real analysis and de-escalation work bootlickers. We need to get control of the urge to fit every global issue into a simplistic YA novel narrative structure that appeals to Western revolutionary fantasies.
