How to Include Any GIF and Make it Attributed

(When GIF Search Fails)

So, you want to include a cool GIF in your post, but the GIF search can't find it, even when you paste in the blog link. Or it's not the first GIF on the post.

Here's how you can manually attribute any GIF.

This is the code you need to paste in the HTML editor, with the bold values replaced for your GIF:

Handling Custom Image Links

Interviewer: It was noted that it is possible to place image links on the blog panel to customize the theme. Which images can be linked, and not simply make new posts with the images? BloodArt-Gallery: links to images in the dashboard, means images that are managed by the theme and not the blog. There are two types of images, square and rectangular. The theme uses these images to decorate the presentation of the blog.

Text Square Image Links

Square images are available randomly on the blog, which does not mean that they will always be populating the posts. Square images are used to decorate the header, post title and on the sides of posts.

Square images in the header, are only available when the header size is presented in Big mode. and Decorate Header option is enabled.

Square images on the sides of posts, are only available when the Blog Content is presented in Half Center mode. and Decorate Posts option is enabled.

Square images in post titles, are only available if the post has a title. and Decorate Posts option is enabled.

Text Rectangle ImageLinks

Rectangular images are randomly available at the bottom of posts, which does not mean that they will always populate the posts. Rectangular images are used to illustrate additional content on the blog.

Neocities: Reliving the Past

haii everyone! i think a lot of people know by now that geocities was shut down last year, 2019 :( which totally sucks because, duh, this blog is all about the old internet!! fortunately for us, an alternative exists, neocities!

i’ve been learning html specifically to make an epic website for myself, here’s some pics!!

Resources for making your own neocities below the cut :)

Archives of old geocities sites for inspiration and graphics. If you want to save the background of a certain one, you’ll need to inspect element, find <body background=“imagelink”> (it’s usually near the top of the code, below <head>) click on the line of code, right click the link that pops up, and then select open link in new tab and voila!

Here are some good links to learn html! You’ll also have to learn a bit of CSS for the stylesheet but that’s relatively easy. Don’t shy away from forum posts that ask the same question you do, a lot of times certain ways they tell you to code don’t work, so you have to try multiple things until you get it right. I’m also always here if you have any questions, I’ll answer them as best I can, either drop an ask in my inbox (or a submission if you want to show me what’s not working/the line of code you’re trying to make work) or you can dm me at @spacezeea​ !

Gifcities is a great place for geocities-esque gifs so you don’t have to sort through all those modern, clean cut ones (ew :P) Cameronsworld has a huge collection of graphics for you to use too, and here’s a collection of 88x31 gifs, aka buttons. Most button makers don’t work anymore unfortunately because the sites no longer host those things and a lot have been lost to time, so I make my own!

I personally use aseprite to make mine but that costs money, so any pixel art maker works fine, as does mspaint! I usually size up my canvas to 176x62 just so I can add finer details.

Here are some blinkie makers and collections for anyone who wants to make their own.

you know, maybe it would just be easier if i sent the code i use lol. here's the line of code. "name<br /><img width=\"100px\" src=\"imagelink\">", -- replace 'name' with the character name, and 'imagelink' with the imgur link. do not change anything else. keep the quotation marks in there too :) hope this helps!
