a huge thing about sex to me is masking. i hate people looking at my face while i have sex with them. i get why people do that, i get its hot and i get its also caring.
i have so many fantasies about sex and it just turns me on so much when i fantasize about having sex with a non human. tentacle monsters and aliens are a fave, and not very uncommon. but i sadly realize that i wont ever have a secret treasure box in the back of my room that is filled with a huge tentacle monster that will fuck me the way i think about. fully in control of what it does to me, non human so theres no face to look at non eyes glooming at me. not to mention all the slimy beauty, the bendy long arms..
however ive been thinking a lot about latex and how different it would be if i would simply wear a full mask for example. im not looking into finding people to fulfill these fantasies at the moment but it really helps imagining what possibilities there are and that there actually are people that are doms as well.
in my past sexual experiences ive had to be dominant a lot of the times, and i was alright with that at that moment. i knew that my partner wasnt a dom person at all so it only made sense in that time. and i was the "experienced" one in the relationship and in the other ones ive been in as well. so i kind of 'had' to take the role of leading.
i am also a youth rape victim with months of sexual assault going with it and the whole manipulative spiel around it. and at the time it only made sense to me to try to counter that by being dom. however the more ive been getting to heal from my trauma and also the better i feel in my body through transitioning those thoughts kind of. vanish. i want to regain positive experiences of being submissive. and thats really empowering and it really shows me how trauma healing is really working.
your books have been a huge help, but your blog has been even more so (in this specific topic). you talking about sex and kink in your books, especially unmasking for life, has been really nice. and seeing you reblog all of these kinky gifs and content has been.. i dont know how to describe it. seeing you write out some of your fantasies has been so exciting. and seeing others send you their fantasies and seeing you react to it has been so comforting. so thank you for that âď¸
i just wanted to share some of my experiences and fantasies as an audhd rape victim and traumatized person in general and how progress has been looking so far.
-sid
Aww thanks sid <3. You should try out some latex! and tentacle toys and maybe some silicone-based bondage to give you a bit of the wrapped-up-in-tentacles sensation. Hope you can explore your submissive side, have some fun, and continue learning more about yourself and what turns you on.

I want to talk about Genshin's newest ray of sunshine, Mualani đ â¨ď¸
I loved her inclusion in the first part of the archon quest (I was tempted to summon for her but after 2 trials I decided her playstyle is not for me RIP), and in contrast to what many people have said I think she's a great representative for the personality of Natlan as a whole.
Spoilers below for people who haven't played Natlan but want to:
One thing I've seen people complain about, aside from calling Mualani just another generic happy girl which I disagree with, is that she didn't respond strongly enough to the news of Kachina's death and failed resurrection. I guess they feel like the appropriate response would have been for her to cry and yell?
I think Mualani's response was actually incredibly realistic given what we know about her upbringing and the situation in the nation. When Mavuika brings everyone in to explain the situation Mualani does, in fact, become angry. She doesn't become emotional but her demeanor changes compared to what we've seen from her previously. Her response does come across as muted though, which I think is entirely intentional.
Think about the other most important event we experience with Mualani, when she showed us around the People of the Springs village. Everyone from her tribe is just as laid back and happy as her and it seems like such a carefree place right up until we're suddenly attacked by the abyss. This is a regular occurrence in Natlan! The nation has been at war for 500 years and these people are used to fighting for their lives. The important thing to note though is Atea: when we finally find out the truth that Atea will die soon how does Mualani react? She has the same kind of muted reaction that she does to Kachina's death. She isn't angry over Atea but she also doesn't get visibly emotional over it.
I'm pretty sure this is because, well....
That's what happens when you experience trauma over and over again.
When I watched the AQ and got to the part with Mualani finding out about Kachina I remember thinking, "Well, that's a very realistic scene." Because that's how I think I would act too, in that situation. When you've been through hardship from a young age, eventually you just learn that getting emotional gets you nowhere. You might get angry but there's no point in wasting your energy yelling or crying. I think maybe some people might not catch on to that nuance, but I found it to be a great touch and made Mualani feel like a realistic character to me.
The OTHER thing I think is great about her, and another thing I relate to, is that Mualani IS a happy peppy girl! But she's clearly CHOOSING to be happy despite the circumstances. That's why I think she's a great representative of Natlan. The entire nation is experiencing this prolonged trauma and yet it isn't the desolate war-torn wasteland that many gamers were expecting. It's arguably the most fun, colorful, and energetic nation so far. Natlan is CHOOSING to be a place full of life, and I think that's a much better direction for the developers to have taken it compared to the alternative! It's all very interesting so far BRAVO.
TLDR: Mualani is actually a character with a decent amount of depth. Her unexpectedly muted reactions to terrible events actually say a lot about her! Her personality also makes a lot of sense for the setting!
Also, she's a baddie. She's never died in war and even Kinich thinks she's no pushover đŞ
#writing thoughts#when writing characters you dont have to just go with whatever action seems most obvious or appropriate#think about how their experiences might inform their actions specifically#if you dont have a lot of experience or want more examples of how different people react to trauma or surprising events#i reccomend talking to people about their experiences or finding first hand accounts#i like listening to podcasts like What Was Than Like to gain more insights#anyway I like Mualani and I dont think shes generic at all#genshin impact

I hope its good that im there to listen to my friend when theyre going through a hard time, even if im terrible at comforting people
#i often feel really really terrible in situations where people are feeling bad because i am just. SO awful at comforting them#which i know isnt fair because theyre the ones going through a hard time#but all i can say is im sorry and i hope you feel better#because ive learned that different people have different reactions to things when they are upset#and i dont want to make them more upset (which i have in the past)#for example if i should joke to lighten the mood or give a rational answer/solution#both of these might work sometimes but i never know when or with who#so ive just ended up being really terrible and quiet#but i always try to listen when they need to talk or need someone there with them#which i hope is enough at least. i hope they understand what im trying to get across#my closest friends do at least. i think. i hope so#i just wish i was better at all this so i could be a better friend#but i know i always say the wrong thing#sigh. i just hope they know i love them âĽď¸#i had a really emotional convo with a friend recently where i opened up a lot about how much they mean to me and it was really nice#i think i always want to relate things to my own experience because that's the only way i can empathize#but i dont want to make things about myself either. because again none of this is about me but thats all i know how to say#UGHHHH why did the universe make me autistic. gun to head#mad rambling#vent#idk. i hope im doing ok is all. im sorry to my friends if i ever havent done enough truly#personal

âdont feel comfortable share my autism level or support needs, AKA own medical information, online to strangersâ ok yeah understandable
âdonât personally like autism levels or support needs n donât feel they accurate describe own experienceâ ok am not gonna tell you how to feel about self
âautism levels & support needs arbitrary and needlessly divisive and useless and only separates autistics so will not be tolerating levels & support needsâ you being ableist asshole and ignorant.
donât care who you are how you are how you daily life struggle no struggle. donât care if you been described as or you fit mild or level 1 or low support needs or severe or level 3 or high support needs or everything in between or beyond. by deny this language for everyone, stigmatize this language for everyone, take away this language for everyoneâ you reinforcing & supporting dominant erasure narrative of autism community.
yes, âautismâ alone should be enough. should include everyone autistic. but right now in lots autism community it doesnât. right now loudest place of autism community make autism mean very specific version of low-to-no support needs, high masking, late/self/undiagnosed, verbal, level 1 invisibly autistic without ID (who often white)âversion that not even include everyone with experiences just listed. not to mention erase ignore or downright deny experiences of more marginalized autistics.
so we use term describe ourselves. level 2 level 3 medium support high support. all autistic in one community yes but sometimes we need separate sub-community (especially when main community ignore us be hostile to us bully us mock us, but we deserve regardless, deserve community with people we relate more to). sometimes that separation important. we need word say âour experiences n abilities n world may be different than yours.â we need word for find own sub community. because autism so wide, just by say you autism no one know what you really talk about. because autism so wide but it being forced into something narrower.
especially those us with language disabilities. who canât go on explain all details. who need quick word. sometimes word âoutdatedâ or imperfect in your opinion, or word you feel icky about when applied to you.
if âautismâ been made to mean only âlevel 1 autismâ or âlow support needs autismâ or âverbal autismâ or âhigh masking autism.â n only when level 2/3 & mid/high support needs adjective mentioned do people mean to include those things. then. we put it back in. if we mean all autism we say all autism. if we mean specifically level 1 autism we say âlevel 1 autismâ. we not leave âlevel 1â out. we refuse.
it help level 1 (etc long list that not always equal eachother) autistics out too. imagine talk about how âtoday when talk to friends missed sarcasmâ n all comments about âlol you able keep friends (plural)? you already working on sarcasm? am canât even joint attentionâ (exaggerated example) actually donât have to imagine. because donât you all talk lot about how look up autism n only thing able find is white autistic boy who Really Like Trains (that some you all ableistly mock their stereotypical visible âuglyâ symptoms n say not all autistic people embarrassing like that)? yeah imagine that all you find everywhere when you just trying find someone relate. because yeah sometimes you want find little corner of specific people like you to relate to even though you (hopefully?) know autism wider than you n your presentation n your symptoms.
fine if you donât need all that, or you donât find these words helpful for you to face this erasure.
not everyone does.
if you speaking for more than yourself. then your world need be bigger than yourself. or people you agree with.
by stigmatize these words, by deny these words, by spread misinformation about these words, you stopping those us who cannot always remember or elaborate on details of our autism. aka. silencing us. which. only make loudest autism people who erase us seem louder.
if you think levels or support needs deny humanity for all maybe that you problem. just like how if you need emphasize person before disability every single time to see them as people maybe that you problem.
levels imperfect. levels important.
support needs imperfect. support needs important.
donât care who you are. how you are. what you are.

do you think operator & drifter treat their warframes wildly differently?
somewhat insufficient TLDR: i think the operator and drifter are emotionally attached but in vastly, strikingly different ways, and it manifested very, very differently too.
in operator's case, it isn't that they dont *care*, but they know how durable a warframe is. they know they can take one hell of a hit, and they'll be okay because that warframe takes the brunt of it (albeit with some phantom pain if the damage is bad enough). theyre less comfortable outside the confines of those large, bulky war machines because they know they're ultimately safe. those warframes can take hits. they cannot. the operator knows they were people, but they never met those people before the tragedy. besides... a lot of them really are just empty shells. they're hardly the people they once were, especially since they recreated those warframes from blueprints. don't get me wrong, they do remember the anguish of the originals - they were there, they lived it, and they still have empathy for them... but the operator knows the limits of every warframe like the back of their hand - they can maneuver however they want, they can take hits, they can run into armies and not be too afraid because they (as in the operator and the warframe this time) be fine. even if the warframe is damaged, they can fix the damage, so no harm done.
but drifter on the other hand? at first i think they never really realised the power they had. in their mind they were still them, just running, rolling on the occasion, it took them ages to maneuver those things *properly*, and probably only ever really learned with the operator's guidance. they would not let a warframe take a hit, not because they felt empathy for it (at least not a lot, last i checked you kind of need at least *some* to have effective transference?) but because they were so used to walking around vulnerable. yknow, not inside a killing machine. but what would've really solidified the difference was after they went to 1999. sure, hearing that these things used to be people is one thing, but at the end of the day, to drifter, they're still just machines. drifter never got to experience what the tenno did, they never had to deal with reaching into their freshly scarred minds to ease their anger, sorrow, fear, rein them in like the terrified animals they were turning into and hush their cries with understanding - they only knew the dead inside remnants... but it's an entirely other thing when you go to the past and see the people who were hurt. you meet them and you get to know them, become their best friends - maybe even date one of them - and it hit drifter like a fuckin' freight train. they have this entirely different view on warframes from that cold perspective they had at first. they weren't just war machines. those are people. every time they go into the head of those machines, they're looking through the eyes of *people.* people who had families and desires and hobbies, things they looked forward to, entire futures ahead of them that were snuffed out. people who were scared, people who didn't know what was happening. people who knew what was happening, who lived in fear knowing they weren't able to stop it... people who lived in fear of losing themselves. and i think it hit drifter a lot harder than they'd ever admit.
but thats not to say one of them is more attached than the other - both of them care deeply about their warframes. it's just that, they have different ways of looking at them. after all their experiences were so vastly different, it'd be impossible to look at them the same way.
(too lazy to type it out all over, but i have an example in the tags i think kinda helps pull it together more)
#i hope i worded operator's part correctly#because i dont want to be saying like#oh the operator doesnt care#they see them as just tools#because thats not what i mean#its hard for me to explain#the operator loves them too#but its like... when you sympathize with people you dont know.#you hear of a tragedy that happened to a stranger#and you feel sorrow. but not the same amount as if it happened to a friend. you dont feel that encompassing sickness.#the operator did meet them.. kind of#but it was only remnants. people whos minds were lost to the infestation and were going nuts#the drifter though?#they got to know the people after theyd been warframe-ified but who still had their minds.#they were still... them.#mostly.#and the blanks. the things that were lost and the drifter wouldnt have known on their own. were filled in by **their friends.**#and ig i think the drifter mightve seen themselves too. what with being alone and scared. fearing youll lose yourself#but i wasnt sure how to include that in the post itself#but yeah thats my yapping#hope it made sense#â posts#warframe#warframe 1999#warframe 1999 spoilers#wf 1999#warframe community#warframe the drifter#warframe drifter#warframe the operator

Question...how do you make your patches? They seem so fuckin cool. I'm working on a vest and a jacket atm, and I'd like for them to be done by the time a pride fest rolls around next month.
Main technique I use for making patches nowadays is linocut. Its best suited for mass production of patches.

Make sure to remember your carving the mirror image so you have to flip all the text. Using tracing paper to flip the design is a good trick, as well as leaving graphite marks on side, then pressing that to the lino to leave the marks in the same spot. Another trick with pencil is to view what ur carving in negative space quickly, put a paper over your design and shade over it with pencil, darker marks will be where you haven't carved yet.
I use speedball fabric ink, it takes 1 week to set then will be fine to be washed. I have magenta, violet, turqouise, and white. They have a limited range of fabric colors at the store. I have seen gold and silver fabric paint for sale and I will investigate it one day.

I use a speedball roller, i find the smaller one to be better than the big one as I can be more precise and waste less ink.

I got a fancy handle for $40 but the screws fallen out so its broken now so just get some heavy books. I used to use a mug. Whats important is pushing your whole body weight into it.

I got a speedball carving tool with different heads I can swap out so I can cut into the lino at different deepness and widths. The heads are stored inside the tool since its hollow and has a screwable removable bottom. I use linocut or dollar store erasers for my carvings. Make sure to wash the ink off your linocuts after your done using them.

A thing to increase the lifespan of you're linocuts is to use wood glue, some cork or wood pieces, and glued the lino stamps onto them. I dont do that yet so my stamps fall appart from overuse sometime and because I cut way too deep into the lino since I hate chatter.
Chatter is the term for in linocutting when theres little messy lines and stuff. It makes the art more recognisably to be linocut. My work is very clean with no chatter which is why people don't notice its linocut usually. This is a stylistic choice, with diy styles having a lot of chatter can look really cool so experiment with leaving bits of extra uncarvered lino sticking out in ur stamp. I need to experiment and buy some more lino.
You can also use multiple linocut stamps together to make a patch. Some patches ive made have like 8 different stamps. Ive made a dog nonsense patch where each letter was their own eraser stamp. You can also use different colors between the different lino stamps on the same patch to add more color. An effect I like to do is first stamp it in color, then the next day I stamp it in white over the same spot but shifted to the right and down slightly. It makes the text have a cool border 3D effect I love doing.
If making a more detailed picture with colors, i reccomend hand painting patches. I use white fabric paint mixed with acrylics for color to get all the shades i need. Acrylic paint mixed with fabric softener works too.

If doing words and you dont want a unique font reccomend using letter stamps. If you want a unique font for that i recommend hand paint for individual or linocut for mass produce.
The positive of letter stamps is the font is neat and can be done quickly. I know from lending them to my roommate that they are very helpful if you have dyslexia and have trouble getting letters right.
A visual effect of the letter stamps is that have a nice boxy edge effect, its an imperfection that adds a personally touch to it. I have both lower and upper case stamps that I got from michaels. You can use a hair band or elastic to hold a bunch of letter stamps together to make a word stamp.
You can use other stamps than letters that you find at craft stores for example my racoon print is a craftstore stamp.

You can also find big plastic letter stencils at the dollar store that you can use to do lettering by filling in gaps with a sponge or or paintbrush. They make special paintbrushes just for using stencils.

You can also get plastic stencils in the shapes of things, i got some for children and use a horse stencil for my horse smoking weed patch. Easier than drawing a horse myself.

Another technique I use for more unique clean patches is gel plating. I haven't tried printing laserprint images with it as ive seen online a lot but I will try one day. What i personally do is use it to make imprints with chains and physical objects.
Another thing i use with gelplates are any stamps or linocuts that dont have words, or words ones that i fucked up with and forgot to mirror when carving. It flips mirror image twice with the gel plate so it goes back to being right again on the patch.

Another patch making technique is using foamboard cut into shapes glued onto cardboard. This is good for a quick test of a design and is very cheap to make. It will not hold under water so is more difficult to clean.

(if this was already asked im so sorry! i cant with tumblrs search thingy) hii!!! i havent drawn in ""my style"" in years, but your art has inspired me to try again. do you have any tips on how to develop it and become more consistent? much love and thanks <3333
hello !!! dw i don't think this has been asked beforee so ur good :3
imo you can't really brute force developing your own style. i think it slowly develops over time the more media you consume and get inspired by ! (i mean, i'm still trying to find my style so yk,,)
in my case, i tend to gravitate towards more semi-realistic styles, so i would need to develop my fundamentals (gestures, anatomy, line of action, etc, etc..) first as a base point. i would say learning your fundamentals is important even if you want your style to be super cartoony bc it really does help when it comes to deciding which parts you want to exaggerate and stylize and stuff. (it may be boring for some people but i promise u it rlly does help a lot !!!)
btw ur anatomy doesn't have to be perfect on the get go when u want to try stylizing đ shit even my anatomy was p bad before i started drawing in my 'style' so dont be discouraged !
@/atie1225 @/jasminjaegerart @/quietgom @/AmiThompson_h
ok when it comes to stylizing what i find helpful is copying certain aspects of an art style i like. ur not stealing their whole thing btw !! but u should try to analyze what parts of someone's style that you like !
like for example, i like how Alfons Mucha does hair, so i implement it in how i draw. i remember i liked how Ken Wakui does noses bc its simple enough, so that's what i currently do, i liked the nose bridge lines thing from mha and jjba so i added it to my drawings, and so on and so forth
obv these arent all my influences, there's probably thousands of artists i like, shows i've watched, comics and manga i've read that influenced me etc etc and our art styles are just a mish mash of all of that ! it's actually super cool to see how different people draw depending on what influenced them so ykkk
as for consistency don't be afraid to use your own art as references ! shit even i have a couple of my drawings in my inspo board because of how much i like them and sometimes i would look over and try to remember how i did those LMFAO
but idkkk i don't think you have to strictly adhere to your style. imo experimenting is good and seeing how it changes over time is super cool ! so you shouldn't stress urself out about that :3 eventually you'll develop the habit of sticking to your style, it just takes a bit of time !!
i think that's all, i hope this helps :3
heres the drawing by itself bc i kinda like it
#im so glad my stuff has somehow inspired you wahgghhhhuhuhuhuhu.............#i wish u the best of luck !!!! and as always this is not all gospel do whatever seems right to you !#franswers#shitty art advice (dont listen to them)

Thank you, next? (Ex!)
Obey me boys (brothers + dateables <except simeon>) past lovers hcs and thoughts about why mc is different from them. <AKA why they fell for you> (By the way i didnt specify any gender in ex's because i talk about all genders!!) Mc is gn too!
(Warning: kinda suggestive. Talking about one night stands and pls, pls spare my grammer mistakes eng. Is not my first language đđ¤đž)
Notes: idk why but i couldn't write for my fav, simeon. Maybe i will add him to this post in future
Lucifer
I dont think his pride let him date someone ever. He stayed in the line of courting and flirting. Like really a lot. He just wanted to see if they were going to gain his affection or not. The persons im actually talking about is always... prideful like him. He never gave a chance to people like Diavolo. (So diavolo was his first in this category AHEM!) Loyals to noble, citizen to high society. It didnt matter to him. He flirted everyone who catched his attention (which is really hard...) and when it happened it just ended with some one night stands. He never felt love. He just liked them for fun, passion or just to... experience. Witches, sorcerers, demons, angels... it really didnt matter to him.
Personas like Mc was out of his lines naturally. His pride didnt even make him thought about it. But as his brothers started to be fond of you, he realised what he misses. The real sincerity he wants, the real experience he aches... that was the first realization of his love for you.
Mammon
He dated people that mostly like him. careless, luxury-loving, praise-loving and boastful... you know the starboys, stargirls, star people like 'amazing' as him. Models, actresses, actors, singers, idols... and even though he never dated a witch he had some one night stands. Sorry for bad example but until meeting mc, dating for him was like leanardo di'caprios love life đđźđ (HE DOESN'T HAVE THE AGE PROBLEM PLS)
The reason he fell hard was how he actually felt some really careness from mc unlike some fake praises or just you know... unnecessary exaggerated sentences. But with mc, he really felt like being listened. Being cared, being not put the role of some jerk.
Leviathan
None. Except you count his 3 months virtual lover lolol?? He was just jealous of his brothers and wanted to experience it but he just really felt like doing some lovers rp in that time. Even his brothers doesn't know this too.
Does he really have to explain? You always acted him nice. Never saw him as a key of something. You really loved to listen his yapping. And never judged him for a something that he actually screwed. Yoy accepted him as a friend, and he did too. But as some time passes... he realised he was in love with his true friend.
Satan
Dating? No. Courting? No. Flirting? For some fun and lust, yes. Just these. Except that he loved to be unique socialite. He loved to feel the 'i want to be with you' eyes on him. He never admits this too. But like a cat, he just loved to gain it. His social connections are everwhere so from witches to sorcerers, models to artists, lower demons to nobles he always got the attention he wanted. But like i said it was just some fun. A passion that lasts as long match. Thats all.
You accepted the challenge of peeling his barriers. And the first time you did... he was really angry. (The moment you declined his pact offer) he really didnt like to fail his achieves. But you didnt like it either. He loved that. But all aside, you found his existential crisis a solve. And you just did it because it became right to you. Not because you wanted to impress him... or lucifer. He felt this in his long life for first.
Asmodeus
... do you really need me to explain? All people. He tried every kind, sort, type, every! As long as he felt like a new kind of challenge, a new kind of lust and being worshiped. When i say everyone i mean it. From the devildom to human world. Even when he was an angel. He was just a bit more careful and less playful then.
Not being able to charm you? Challenge accepted. Being x2 times AND emotionally charmed by you? Take it back. TAKE IT BACK! He always loved to being attached not to attached to someone! But as he knows you more, he realize this is also a new kind of feeling! He always thought live long loves were going to make him so bored and prisoned at some point. And he was right about being prisoned. But did he care? Not anymore.
Beelzebub
Nahh even he did tried to date [he was just curious] it backfired. Whenever the person asked for some alone time or date he always declined because of some kind of planned event with his brothers. And with some time this caused the relationships end naturally. His family was always first for him.
And thats the reason. His family is always FIRST for him. And you, who saved his brother and made his family all happy and together again also were a family member. You were just new in it. You did what he couldnt. He was so grateful to have you... and his admiration for you turned to love. Because he realized how perfect you personality was. Because he realized how his family was healed with you.
Belphegor
He probably always made fun of this topic like an emo boy 𼲠whenever he felt some urges like lust he just had some one night stands. He was so focused on his self hatred side and that made him always look down on love.
And now he also hates about himself for this too. He always felt guilt how this way of thinking made him hurt you. How someone like you, just a human, free him from lucifer and... his own prison. He killed your trust. He literally strangled it with his hand. But still, you found a way to find a new trust again and show to him. He really believed he really didn't deserve you. And when he realized that, he knew what he was feeling.
Diavolo
He did it for learning duty. As the prince of devildom he must know how to court a lady, gentleman or anybody. So he really courted lots of person. He was really kind to them. Even though he was forced to do so with some of them (ahem politic reasons) he never dropped his perfect act. But problem was here. It was all act. He never felt like saying the things he actually said. Or when he spent the night away with them he always felt so weird after with it. Still knowing he was going to marry a demon someday and going to do that anyways, he did not think so much on it.
But never he did think he would fallen love with a human that he invited. At first he really tried to deny and reason himself. Like even though he did break all the 3 barriers and connected them, this didn't gave a permission to have you. Still, he didnt care. He always acted like a good prince and he still does. Doesn't he deserves some really sincerity. Doesn't he deserves your kind actions. Even if its a little bit, doesn't he deserves you?
Barbatos
This mf... bro is the kind of parent that did all kind of things but never let his son doing it. I mean it. When he was using his power freely he did lots of sins about love. Breaking hearts, seducing someone taken to have it himself, then leave them to start a new adventure... man was the owner of the song: heartless. But since he started to serve as diavolo's butler, he changed all of his personas about this. Even his one night stands was so rare. And he is acting like a such a parent about this too. Like when diavolo starts to say about his new courtship bro is yapping like "may i meet them first my lord?" . If there was a thing that didn't changed about him, this was how slowly he would give himself to someone.
And this happened with you too. When he sensed your interest, he hid himself pretty well. But the trouble was, Barbatos realized that your interest was more of a pure curiosity than the curiosity he had experienced in the past. In fact, many people had approached him like this in the past. The difference was that now he had really changed. Goodness, did many year let him forget what was exciting about this... but no. This was so much better. Because for a first time, he wanted to give in really. For a first time he wanted to last it long. Yes he changed a lot. And he wished he did it sooner.
Solomon
I do not think in game he had 700 wives and 300 concubine BUT i think he dated some people for benefits. Like more power, knowledge, etc. Also he had a loong life as human so im sure he had sone interests. But he never felt... the one for him. He just felt nice, giggly, also got the things he wanted. Thats all. "It was nice while it lasted" is the quote for him.
At first he was amused how every brother started to fall for you one by one. This got him curious. He actually thought you were like him and always found a way to charm someone to make them do the things you wanted. But he didn't expect you to be REALLY get attached to brothers because you love them. And it was this easy for you. He was all alone in his thoughts and goals almost in every inch of his life. But you came, didn't question him, just wanted to help him with his loneliness like you did the brothers. You didn't even asked more from him but he wanted to give you more. So he ofdered you to be his apprentice. For him, you were a diamond he had been searching in underground for decades.

1. My biggest isssue (as a POC) is when is a character POC or otherized? Do we use IRL or in world? Beau is Human, brown woman. At no point in C2 is the fact that she is brown comes up other than discriptions. Her humaness is what matters especially in the COB. She is treated the same aa Caleb. Fjord, Nott and Molly havs far more in text displays of racism towards them. Ppl dismiss jester as being "white" but insist dorian is poc. When in world they are the same colour.
2. And teiflings would be more discriminated against. I know robbie is poc and dorian is blue but hes a genasi. In the world of exandria i view him and ashton as the same race. So i see these weird arguments online and its always a cross steam trying to use both in world races and irl to prove a point. Since i am examining the world of exandria i use the races displayed there and no attention to what the people look like irl. Also it avoids unintentional sterotyping down the road
3. An example ppl drawing drow and ashton with black racial features (my own) and then someone else complaing that the fandom made the asshole and the would be villian into black men. This fanon has unintended consequences once the story is fully fleshed out. Saying Orym is non white (despite Liams art direction) is bad because people to this day are mad Marisha made beau dark. It cant be both way. This way ppl can headcanon stuff so they dont have 2 go looking for other ips for representation.
----
So this is a really good point and I am, as said, an ethnic/religious minority but not a racial one and so this is how I tend to interpret this stuff in fantasy works, especially ones that have multiple species (humans, elves, etc) as it's not limited to Critical Role (ie, happens in Dragon Age too), which I think is what you're saying here but feel free to let me know if I'm wrong:
There's "is this character treated, in-world, as racialized" (which is often more contextual in a lot of fictional works in a way it is not IRL due to patterns of colonialism in our world, which is a long conversation I'm probably not equipped to articulate well, but just as an example, Fjord is racialized as a half-orc on the Menagerie Coast, but half-orcs in Yios, for example would have a very different experience). In other words, do people within the work of fiction discriminate against them on the basis of race? Anyway, as you said, Fjord, Molly, Jester, and Veth in her goblin form are treated as The Other; Fjord (and Molly, though his memory is only a few years long) grew up with this experience whereas Jester and Veth grew up, for different reasons, sheltered from or unaffected by that discrimination. Beau didn't experience racism in-world, nor did Veth in her halfling form, despite both of them being visibly nonwhite. For a Dragon Age example, Bellara, Davrin, and Antoine grew up with racism as elves, but Neve did not (and indeed comments on using her privilege as a human mage among human mages) despite being visibly nonwhite (and despite Antoine being white).
There's then "is this character treated out of world as racialized", or in other words, do fans treat them as nonwhite. This is also complicated, and this is something I can speak to as Jewish people who are not also POC experience 'conditional whiteness', ie, when right-wing people want to hate Jews we are the nonwhite infiltrator and when left-wing (and often themselves white) people want to hate them they are the white oppressor. So racist fans will hate characters who are nonwhite (like Beau) and fans trying to prove their blorbo cannot be criticized on the basis of oppression. In this case, Beau and Veth are nonwhite; Fjord and Jester often vary depending on what argument the person wants to make; Molly, as opposed to Jester, is almost NEVER drawn with nonwhite features (which frankly says a LOT of unflattering things about the white queer centering, now that I think about it); etc.
And then there's "is the actor/creator racialized in real life," ie, Robbie, Aabria, Anjali, Utkarsh, Aimee, Christian, Mica, Khary, etc are all POC and the main cast are not. Most of their characters are nonwhite, but few are racialized - Shakaste, Deanna, Bor'Dor, Opal, Deni$e, and Reani do not experience racism within this setting. Genasi (as played by Anjali, Robbie, and Taliesin) are a complicated case of being tokenized/model minority within the Empire, and the Silken Squall being inspired by native culture but their role within the world only slightly touched upon such that it's hard to draw a definitive conclusion.
And, since I referenced it in the tags elsewhere, for an NPC case: Essek is racialized by the people of the Empire (as a drow) along with the rest of the Dynasty; he is not racialized within the Dynasty and is indeed in a privileged position there; and whether or not he's treated as nonwhite by the fandom depends on whether someone wants to hate on him or defend him on the basis of identity. He is an NPC, and Matt's white, but in theory could be controlled by a nonwhite GM such as Aabria, or a nonwhite player in the way that Robbie played Cerkonos.
Anyway: completely agree that a lot of people do this in the end so that they don't have to seek out like, Desiquest or Rivals of Waterdeep or Into the Motherlands or other APs run by actual real nonwhite people either because of parasocial connections to the cast, the fact that CR has a larger fandom and they want the attention, or the fact that often they are here for white queer characters and bring in nonwhite characters (and headcanons of white characters) as some kind of armor against criticism.
I think in terms of character interpretation you do need to consider both in-world (Fjord is textually treated as the racial other to the point of self-harming to fit in; you cannot treat him as The Racial Majority in the world without being noncanonical) and out-of-world (irl people are racist towards Beau) but yeah a lot of people really want to have it both ways.
This happens a lot with queerness too - one of the big backlashes I experienced during this campaign is when I pointed out that Exandria is not, in fact, a setting with systemic homophobia and Imogen's experience of being othered in Gelvaan is an extremely bad metaphor for queerness given that she can read people's minds and almost killed two people, but it is true that people irl may be homophobic towards Imogen as a character. But again, you need to be consistent in those arguments - if you are talking about in-world racism or homophobia, you cannot bring up Imogen or Beau, who do not experience these things. If you are talking about fandom racism, you can bring up Beau. And if your issue is racism and representation in the real world, you can and should push back on (for example) people being racist towards Utkarsh for daring to exist and not know every rule of D&D when Emily Axford is onscreen but also we are watching a show of 8 white people when there are other actual plays with a more diverse cast. And yeah, fanon isn't canon and if the character is only nonwhite in your mind, it is not racist of people to disagree or to not vibe with them and it's also worth checking, if you are headcanoning someone with an identity you do not personally have, to see if you're falling into harmful stereotypes. Why are you headcanoning Orym, a character who doesn't experience in-world discrimination, played by a white man, as nonwhite, instead of seeking out works with textually nonwhite or racialized characters? And why are you incapable of accepting that sometimes you'll like a character who is not on every single axis of oppression and it's like, fine, provided you work against oppression in your real world life? If your faves are always white or always men (or, frankly, always demographically like you) then maybe take a look at yourself and who you are capable of relating to, but if you have a mixture of diverse favorite characters it's fine if not every one of them checks every single box.

Maybe a hot take but I PERSONALLY donât buy into the whole âWammyâs house was a child detective puppy farmâ idea. Mainly because we arenât told nearly enough about Wammyâs house outside of that one scene with near and Mello (thanks ohba and obata đ) but also because a lot the stuff that we do see doesnt really give me that impression? Strictly speaking with the main anime/manga you have the existence of Matt and Linda right off the bat. Matt first of all because hes said to be the 3rd best at Wammyâs house, 3rd in line it be L , and yet hes fine to just⌠say nah, I donât feel like it? He never really seems all that pressed tbh imo. And as for Linda, we know that sheâs an exceptionally talented artist who is in multiple galleries across England, and Wammyâs appears to have facilitated that. She wasnât grabbed off the streets as an orphan and forced to become a child detective. It doesnât seem like any of them were. What Matt and Linda seem to show us is that none of them were ever forced to be detectives or the next L or whatever, it was just an option. (Once again, from my perspective in the animanga purely) The core of Melloâs very personality is to be competitive, of course he went for it. Near was exceptionally smart and good at puzzles in the same way that L was. In the one scene taking place at Wammyâs in the anime, itâs clear that Roger really didnât want them to do this alone. He tried to hold back from telling them that L didnât pick (cough cough because he knew Melloâs inferiority complex would lead him to believe that meant he had lost) and tried to convince them to work to whether before Mello stormed off alone. Not downplaying the fact that a 14 year old was able to storm off alone but the fact is that we DONT KNOW what happened after that. Theres so much context that we donât know. Discussing other canons, the L files tells us outright that L WASNT FORCED TO BE A CHILD SLAVE DETECTIVE BY WATARI THE MOMENT HE WAS BROUGHT IN. He just solved puzzled and went on his computer until he was 14, at which point he found âsomething more interesting than any puzzle heâd ever solvedâ and moved on to crimes. Again, not to take away from the dubious ethics of a 14 year old solving crimes but it isnt like Watari sat his 8 year old ass in front of a dead body and told him to figure it out. And the (dubiously canon adjacent?) LCtW also suggests that Wammyâs house was a place that facilitated genii of all types, not just the crime solving ones, for example the biochemist (i think) K. Now facing LABB. I can absolutely see why people look to this as definitive proof that Wammyâs house is evil, especially with what Mello talks about regarding âWatari wanting backupsâ and Aâs suicide. Those are both valid points which are very bad. My issue here is just that whats written in LABB doesnt always match up with other canons (theres also the whole issue of Mello being a potentially unreliable narrator but thatâs an entirely different matter). For example, it claims that âwhen Wammyâs house was first founded Watari was experimenting with making new Lâsâ which doesnt line up with L being taken to Wammyâs house in the manga and anime and basically every other canon, where Wammyâs precedes L. Even Dn 13, which takes LABB as canon in its timeline, also includes the L files which shows baby L being taken to Wammyâs and eventually discovering detective work. overall itâs all about weighing one canon against the over and making your on conclusions, and I prefer to believe in the canons which suggest that while it was flawed, Wammyâs house was not an actively evil child detective factory with an evil overlord running it. now, everything Iâve just said is MY PERSPECTIVE. Iâm not bashing anyone for believing any which way, I really donât care. I just felt like explaining my point of view on my blog (because I like compiling evidence and putting forwards an argument bc I find it fun. Yes I did like debates in class how could you tell
#Iâm a bit Biased as a found family lover#Tldr; Was Wammyâs perfect? No. Was it hell? Also no.#Death note#l lawliet#matt death note#mello#near death note

heyo, its been a long time since i did an analysis!! this time on a more controversial subject: Rook Blonko. And how I think he was robbed.

When you actually look at the way Rook is written in omniverse, they dont give him very much to work with. like revvonaganders and their culture are cool, but rook feels so underdeveloped as a person outside of his culture. hes kind of a gwen in a way; hes got bare minimum flaws but he's treated like hes in the right when hes doing something actually flawed. hes never condemned for treating ben the way he does and he doesnt even have a consistent arc. he doesnt feel like a teenager, he doesnt feel like he has any sort of character progression, hes just kinda there, and his lack of depth in character-to-character situations is only amplified by the lack of holding him accountable for negative traits he possesses, instead punishing ben or ignoring the behavior. Instead of writing a scenario where Rook is in the right and ben is in the wrong, or showing rook behaving poorly and have him learn from his actions, i can hardly think of a time where rook was shown to be wrong for his treatment of ben.
For example in a scenario where Ben is keeping personal information from Ben, and rook wants to know it for the sake of their partnership, instead of portraying Ben in the wrong properly by showing his keeping of said information being harmful to the public or his friendship to rook, or have the information be personally important to rook making Ben's keeping of it harmful, instead rook has scoured Ben's file for all information and is asking about something that is of no matter to him entirely because he doesn't know it. He pesters Ben incessantly even when Ben has told him firmly no. Tjis is a recurring issue, where it seems like the story wants rook to be right but is ignoring context and the way he goes about it.
This would be an aggravating issue but ignorable if rook had anything resembling a consistent arc, but he doesn't. the conflict of rook idolizing ben and meeting him and realizing hes not what rook thought he was is interesting, but its always treated as if bens in the wrong for not living up to rooks expectations. rook overstepping his boundaries with ben due to being a huge fan and maybe cultural differences is interesting, but its never portrayed as a flaw on rooks end, more like bens fault for keeping the information. his struggle with his culture and staying connected with it, his conflict with his father about his career path, his relationships to his siblings, him slowly watching revvonah be plundered for its resources as the series goes on, i love that, thats genuinely interesting. but they never talk about it outside of those episodes. rook is in the wrong often and it brings up a lot of interesting questions about him as a person, but they dont talk about that in favor of treating him as bens babysitter, or setting up a joke where ben is the punchline.
It's disappointing to me that rook was never given the attention he deserved. Like i said, there's a lot of good stuff in his framework that's just begging to be explored, but his lack of an arc makes him feel so one note after a while and really dampens his relationship with ben. Since rook is not a character on the same level as ben, he feels less like an equal like they tried to illustrate and more of a plot device. They even threw away the most interesting conflict between ben and rook; rook being book smart and ben being street smart, experience over training. Ben and Rook hardly ever have issues based on this other than rook misunderstanding a joke. This is why rook and ben feel like such a flat relationship to me.
all of this to say: rook fans. Please, for the love of god, work your magic. He's got all the pieces there, and i am certain you can do something special in fanworks about him. Don't let the show being lackluster hold you down.

beginners guide to manifestingâ.ŕłŕż*:シâď¸
the definition of manifesting (the law of assumption) is simply, whatever you assume to be true, is true. we are ALWAYS manifesting subconsciously. your beliefs/thoughts are what u experience. therefore if u change ur thoughts , then you'll experience differently.
VOCAB USED A LOT IN THE LOA COMMUNITY :
3D/4D - the 3D refers to ur physical. what you're experiencing physically. the 3D acts as a mirror, and reflects whats in the 4D. the 4D refers to ur mental. ur beliefs, thoughts and assumptions that u continuously think. whats in ur 4D will reflect in ur 3D. not the other way around. this is important to remember when manifesting. if u want a change in the physical, a change must first be made in ur mind.
an analogy to help understand it is, if ur looking in the mirror, and u see that u have lipstick in ur teeth. if u wiped the mirror in hopes that the lipstick stain would disappear, would it disappear. no ofc not. u would have to wipe the lipstick off of your own teeth first, then when u looked into the mirror, you wouldn't see the stain. its the same way with the 4D and 3D. u can't expect to see change if u dont wipe the lipstick off of ur teeth. trying to change the 3D/wipe the mirror won't do anything for you.
WAVERING - wavering is flip flopping between two different stories that u tell urself. it's important to persist in one story and not flip flop between "i have it/no i dont". if u affirm that ur rich but ur continuously thinking thoughts like "ugh i'll never be rich" or "im so broke/i never have money" ur self sabotaging. stop that.
THE RULES OF MANIFESTING? - there is none. ur assumptions are true. therefore ur the one who puts the limits on ur manifestations. do what u will with that information. but the rules and limitations are made BY you, FOR you, bcuz its ur reality.
LAW OF ASSUMPTION VS LAW OF ATTRACTION - these are two distinctly different things.
law of attraction if im not mistaken focuses more on things like ur vibrations, making ur vibrations match what ur trying to manifest. like its name suggests law of attraction focuses on ATTRACTING ur desires, the idea that ur constantly putting energy out into the universe, and negative thoughts and emotions -> will manifest negative outcomes. (pls correct me in the comments if this is false)
law of assumption is whatever u assume to be true is true. whether u prefer law of assumption/attraction, the law of assumption is still proven true regardless. thats because its literally science and how the universe works. it focuses on changing ur assumptions -> to therefore change ur experiences. there isnt any outside validation (the universe etc) everything that u need is within u already.
personally, i prefer the law of assumption bcuz it gives me control and it ALWAYS works.
AFFIRMATIONS - affirmations are thoughts that you'd think if u had ur desire. repeating ur affirmations familiarizes ur brain with having ur desire which makes it SUPER helpful when manifesting something consciously. the thoughts that u have every single day are ur affirmations and thats whats being proven true to u in ur everyday life. FOR EXAMPLE ; "the sky is blue" is an affirmation that is proven true everyday bcuz you manifested it (subconsciously not consciously). if u create a new assumption, then that'll be proven true too. ur thoughts today = what u experience tomorrow
IN A NUTSHELL - controlling ur thoughts and mind -> manifests whatever u want into ur life. there are no limits except for the ones that u put on urself. whatever u can conceptualize is possible (so dont go and ask ppl "can i manifest x,y, and z" bcuz YES U CAN) ur only task is to : affirm/saturate/visualize, whatever ur bag is -> use repetition when u have doubts/limiting beliefs -> persist regardless of what u see in the 3d and dont waver -> reap the fruit of ur manifestation.
go and manifest whatever u want, the world is your oyster

Let's talk Alter Pregnancy.
[Let's talk alter pregnancy]
This is an information discussion post because there are claims going around calling it an endo concept when it is not.
Trigger warning for mentions of miscarriage and rape. Brief mentions as examples no indepth talk.
The how and why.
Key points:
- alters can become pregnant through normal means. Intercourse between two alters in the same sys.
- however there are other reasons at play; Desire for it (from that alter, the system or a shared desire between one alter and another be it from the same system or not)
- a form of coping from something trauma related,
- and a new alter forming.
Most often it is a combination but does not always have to be.
1. Its not an unfamiliar concept to most that alters in the same system can have sexual intercourse, and in some cases this can also result in a pregnancy. Though some alters can still have a pregnancy without it, in headspace with alters splitting and forming it isnt a required factor for every system.
2. For alters or systems who want children, sometimes the system will split children alters for them to take care of ti fill that desire, whatever the reason for the desire may be. But it can also split child alters in the form of pregnancy for alters who have an easier time with the concept of being a parent through birth rather than suddenly adopting a new alter, especially if the alter that split is a fragment and doesn't yet have an identity and may take time forming into a whole part.
For alters in a relationship between theirs and another system, that may desire to have children of their own between them, for whatever reason, the same thing can be said, it can be a full formed split of a child alter who's identity is a formed from a mix of them or a child from either of their systems that they adopted or it can come in the form of one of them being pregnant as said above. A shared desire for children like baby fever between one or more alters either in the same or across other systems.
3. Alter pregnancy can be a form of coping for many different reasons. It can be tokophobia the fear of pregnancy, an alter getting pregnant might be the brains way of coping through that fear, for us that's helped a lot. It can be coping with the loss of a child, if the body went through a miscarriage at any point or if someone very close has, it can be coping with the aftermath of rape, it can be an alter who isnt source separated coping with their loss of children in their source or any number of things.
"But headspace isnt real" argument dispute.
As we discussed before in this post, headspace is very real for many and very helpful for alters especially those just forming and as I explained above, alter pregnancy is another form of splitting alters.
Its just a more gradual formation that helps the system adjust in a different way. A lot if alters form for different reasons, a lot of systems treat their headspace differently. None of this is harmful.
Headspace is just as real as your alters, whether you can access it or not, so claiming that it isnt as a way to argue that the pregnancy isnt real is policing other systems experiences, you doing get to do that.
We cant control how other people treat their systems, what experiences their systems have and we cant get upset when it's different for us and hard to understand.
The brain is complicated and things take time to understand but you also don't have to understand in order to respect others.
Telling another system their expirience isnt real because headspace isnt real is telling them how they should treat their system. You dont know their system, their trauma, their experiences, you dont get to make those claims.
You can decide for your system that it isnt real, that your alters cant/wont get pregnant, you cant decide that for other systems and you especially cant decide that for someone else's alters who want children and who are coping.
To further clarify what I'm trying to convey by saying headspace and things that happen in it are real and that the arguments made against it are what I'm trying to fight, this post makes good points.
Endos, nontraumagenics, mixed origin, supporters and what have you dont interact, this isnt for you.
Endo neutrals and "singlets"/non systems you're on thin ice. Non systems can reblog but not add.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

"While what Violet said was through a haze of grief and trauma, what Anthony heard, at a very vulnerable moment, was that his mother would rather die for her husband than live for her children. And itâs very hard to not take that sort of thing personally."
YES YES EXACTLY like I have all the empathy in the world for Violet as a mom with postpartum depression and just a depressed person in general when Edmund died but at the same time you just told your oldest flat out you have no reason to live for WHEN YOU HAVE EIGHT FUCKING KIDS AND ONE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. She just told her son they aren't her air and there is NOTHING left for her in this realm like... that SCARS A PERSON.
dont get me wrong I still enjoy Violet as a character no one is all good all bad but... I would assume that even if Anthony and Violet's relationship becomes less fraught Idk if he would ever get over that no matter how fulfilling his life is now
I think itâs super interesting how Violet is a very loving mother who obviously wants the world for her children yet is a flawed parent in many ways. It shows you that flawed mothers are not necessarily just those who are like Portia but also those like Violet, who are âgoodâ people.
Not that I think Portia and Violet are the exact same, but itâs an interesting juxtaposition, because you may think that both of them are on opposite ends of the parenting spectrum but the closer you look, the more you see, that both of their actions are motivated by wanting to do whatâs best for their children and that it is this that lies at the core of a lot of their bigger mistakes as mothers.
Also, I think that her relationship with Anthony was fundamentally changed by him witnessing her raw grief. Though I think the other children, besides Gregory, Hyacinth and perhaps Francesca, were aware of her grief and absence from their lives, and it impacted them in different ways, for example, Daphne singing to Eloise over Violetâs cries, none of them truly felt the weight of it like Anthony. And I think this altered the relationship not only from Anthonyâs perspective but from Violetâs perspective.
This character study perfectly articulates exactly what I mean. It summarises Anthonyâs character and motivations in such a succinct way, I believe everyone should watch it!!
But throughout season 1, we see her treat him as though heâs Edmundâs replacement falling short rather than her son while simultaneously wanting him to treat her like an authority figure. She demands he arrange something for Daphne with a friend like his father would have, then later, berates him to renege when she considers Simon a better match. Yes Anthony does many things wrong, but he is navigating it from a very lonely place of extreme pressure and absolutely no one to turn to for guidance.
She waffles like this throughout season 2 as well, like insisting that she knows what he wants deep down while also accusing him of thrusting his responsibility upon his siblings, which is simply not true, considering Colin doesnât even seem to understand the importance of balancing accounts. Itâs only in the very last episode of season 2 that she seems to realise how much she has hurt Anthony but even then she apologises for the hurting him while she was grieving and not the way she has treated him subsequently.
Iâm going to be honest, I donât think Anthony will ever go back to being Violetâs oldest child rather than the half limbo state that they are in where heâs the head of the household and sheâs his mother but also part of his household. And this is not because of a lack of love on either of their parts or because they are too different. Which is the tragedy of their relationship.
Anyways this is already too long, but Anthonyâs last experience of unconditional parental love was when his father died, because the moment he did, in certain ways, he lost that from his mother.
I truly believe that the next time he experiences such unconditional love and affection is from Kate, who sees him at his worst, witnesses him make every mistake and still equally matches his feelings, his love and devotion and desire.

Hi just wanted to say i really enjoy your art and i wanna go nom nom everytime it pops up on my feed :] any tips on how to start learning to draw transformers im struggling a little bit
hello ohh my godd thank you so much :))
sorry its been taking me a little bit to get around to asks and such
im really flattered you find me qualified enough to give tips ahh !! heres a list of things I did/do when learning how to draw transformers:
SHAPES !!! draw a lot of cubes and rectangles and such . honestly learning how simple things look in a 3d space is incredibly helpful
TRACE REFERENCES ! related to ^^ learning the characters shapes is important if youre trying to depict them accurately. for example, i take screenshots from tfone and trace the characters to get a sense of what shapes/details theyre made out of and familiarize myself with them.
OBSERVE FROM PEERS !! another huge thing is learning from others ! theres plenty of tf drawing tips out there that are much better than mine lol, but a really helpful thing I do is look at how other people draw characters. how they simplify details, pose, shapes, faces, etc. identify what you like and keep it in mind !
BLOCK BEFORE DETAIL ! trying to immediately draw every single detail of a character can get really overwhelming and scary lol. when sketching, I block out a character and their pose before I start actually drawing any sort of detail. a cube for the head, rectangle for the chassis, etc.
SIMPLIFY !! ^on that note, you dont have to draw all the detail anyway !! if you want to, more power to ya. but ! its your drawing, if u wanna draw a characters plating as just . a rectangle with a window on it . you can !! i personally try to go more for recognizability rather than accuracy
PRACTICE !!! I drew a LOT of transformers before I got the confidence to start posting. something that helped a lot was actually drawing traditionally. I have a sketchbook dedicated to transformers that I draw in only with pen. it helps build my confidence a lot but also embrace my mistakes and learn from them. I also just doodle them everywhere lol . the more you draw the better youâll get and the more familiar youâll become with drawing weird robots :))
Everyone draws and learns differently, what I suggest may not be helpful to you and you def dont have to take my advice !! finding what works for you is a process that involves a lot of trial and error. dont be afraid to mess up, dont be afraid to draw something you dont end up liking. not every drawing has to be perfect ! experiment until you find your groove !! also you dont have to draw the same way every time, embrace fluidity :)
In conclusion: SHAPES ARE YOUR BEST FRIEND ! ROTATE THAT CUBE
I hope this makes sense, its a lot of words ehh.. I dont have any visuals prepared which would probably be a lot more helpful.. iâll add to this when I have the time to actually show how I practice drawing tf characters and my process :))
#transformers#transformers drawing tips#tf art tips#ohh lotta words sorry lol#its a little difficult to understand without visuals ehhh ill add them later promise ^^#hope this helps#most of all honestly have fun lol#even if your drawing looks like shit its ok whatever you can always just try again !#love your art and love yourself and draw robots for the hell of it :)#art tips

hi qwille!!! I got questions for u! you have lots of characters planned out, and thatâs super cool! but how do u usually go about that process? like all your characters are very unique, and I wonder about the design process, as well as how you make their personality distinct! how do you make character dynamics/relationships? because all the scenes Iâve read so far make the characters feel really organic, and mesh really well together! (sorry for all the questions! Iâm super curious ^w^)
Hiya! Here is an answer I wrote for this question on discord recently ^^
I will try answer this as thoroughly as possible!
There was a LOT of kill your darlings involved in making characters for gitm. Originally I had a very long list of character ideas that I cut down and down based on the kind of things and themes they would give me the opportunity to write about. I love long ensemble cast stories, thinking back to ones I particularly enjoyed and the ways those characters gelled together helped me a lot. The most important thing when selecting characters was making sure they would give me something interesting to write about! I was also very keen on ones that let me explore the fics main theme of Family from a different angle. I'm not sure how helpful this all is! But yeah, I try to be pretty strict with myself about what I include. The only reason I would include two characters who were very very similar would be to emphasize a difference/divergence between them later on. Characters have to justify themselves by bringing something unique to the table, even if that thing is just a 'very different outlook on life' to the rest of the cast. Over time a lot of those character ideas became more fleshed out in my brain, and characters that were cut from the original shortlist made their way back in. They still have to be able to narratively justify themselves in order to earn a channel in the discord though!
For the gitm guys, while I dont have a literal sheet I fill out I do make sure to answer a couple of basic character work questions: What lie do they believe about themselves/the world? How does it impact the way they interact with others? What central theme do they embody most? What do they want more than anything else? How do they feel about humans? Who are they at their best and who are they at their worst? I found that by answering these sort of questions it helped me discover more about them, which creates more questions- rinse and repeat. The more questions I answered the further away they would get from each other in terms of similarities. The thing that really helped with the gitm boys, especially because their origins are so similar, was leaning in to how different their experiences were post-fazco. They are different people because the world has made them that way. Messing around with foils has been useful too! Characters are no fun in a vacuum, it's how they interact with others that makes them interesting. I like to create ones that will bring out the best and the worst in each other. I think about opposites a lot and I really like narrative symmetry- what lessons can the characters learn from each other? I find that stuff super exciting to read so I really wanted to include it. Some examples of character foils in gitm: Fool & Noon, Sombra & Sunspot, Misuta & Sol
When it comes to finding character voice, I do a lot of test drabbles (a couple of them are on this server), which I use to just fuck around until I find something that feels right. For instance- Sol was very very easy to find the voice of, where as Misuta took weeks of rewrites. Sometimes things take time. Spending this time figuring out their voices at the start really helps fic consistence in the long run, I think. Because of all that prep, I don't really have to do anything to 'get into character' when writing their dialogue (it's fairly second nature now).
In regards to coming up with a character's arc, I look at them and their themes and ask 'what the fuck happened to you, dude?' and then 'how has that entrenched a faulty world view on you?' 'what could you be driven to do because of that world view/misunderstanding?' 'what would it take to fix this world view/misunderstanding?' (the last question is the most important one!). Then voila, you have a very loose framework of a (hopepunk) character arc.
In regards to the actual planning of the fic/character arcs, I have a very big miro board (pic attached) that I use for all this! Most of the major character beats are marked out separately to plot beats etc etc. There are still a bunch of bits that only reside in my brain, but I do try to add them to my plan as soon as they become any kind of concrete. All of the characters also have a background chapter (or rather, a series of chapters that form a short story) attached to their arc, that will recontextualise everything you have learned about them so far! I am so deeply looking forward to dropping these (I already have quite a lot written).
I would say that- for your question on character relationships- the answer does come down to being really specific about what you include. Make sure characters are meaningfully different from eachother, give them goals and experiences that clash and then force them to live/work together in the same space. If you have put time into building your characters before that, then you just need to create opportunities for them to get into conflict and bring out the best/worst in eachother. I really do believe that characters are quite boring in a vacuum- which is why I put so much emphasis on including narrative foils ^^ Tyvm for the ask <3
