almost done with ok ko and im going bananas crazy insane over straight people again

it drives me insane because i was under the impression that Venomous/ Laserblast planned to fake his own death and did all of this bc he disliked point and knew something was wrong way before Foxtail started acting out, which i think is normal to assume bc thats how overaching villians work, theyre conniving or whatever, but no. he didnt plan any of it. he didnt even want to be a villian, he just wanted to be more powerful, not out of selfishness or ego but because he thought his friends and his girlfriend secretly hated him and he was determined to make sure that wasnt the case. before the twist i kept getting a gut punch bc of how well loved he was, and i was expecting that to be a bad thing he did, but PV was so ill he couldnt have known. he left w out knowing how loved he was, but he left so suddenly and his mental state was so awful that he couldnt have even thought about it. and he still continued to hurt himself and make himself sick and just wallowed all alone picking himself apart for years until he found fink. And the thing that kills me the most is that HE WOULD HAVE COME CLEAN. PV was literally about to crawl out and tell Carol he was safe but she said he wasnt 'strong enough' and he was so sick at the time he couldnt go out there and talk to her. hes probably convinced himself he never wanted to return because carol would probably tell him to his face hes nothing to her, and he already knows that bc she moved on (he assumes, im not sure how long he knew K.O. was his) and had a kid w someone else she probably doesnt grieve him anymore. and it drives me crazy bc the way gar was talking they were like. fuckbuddies. but they lived together, he had a photo of her to look at when he stayed at his lab long nights, he trusted her enough to talk about his insecurities w her and her to him.... He was just sick and he needed help, and he ruined his own life multiple times because he was so sick. all of this to say please get Venomous medical attention and Gar please die. please. im begging. So i was thinking about Belos's possesion of hunter and how he almost died from it and was left physically changed (large highly visible scars, his hair grows faster now, he has flapjack's powers) and that got me thinking about identity and depersonalization via abuse. Hunter doesn't have much of a sense of self before he starts forming connections, which is why he acts so childish and emotional and feels his feelings so outwardly, hes never been allowed to feel them. He barely has the sense of the baseline facts about himself. Hunter barely references his gender or age or anything, like he isnt in connection to it at all, and I began thinking about the myth of Hermaphroditus. Hermaphroditus was the son of Aphrodite and Hermes. tl;dr, he was assaulted by a female naiad one day when he was walking, and as he struggled to get away from her she prayed to be with him always, no matter how much he hated her. the gods answered her, and fused the two into one. In mythology Hermaphroditus is more of a symbol of marriage and the intersection of sex, but the thing that always lingered with me about him was that when you are hurt like that, so deeply that it's like someone is trying to make sure you remember them, you lose everything about yourself, even the baseline fact of your 'you'. You live in a constant intersection between being hurt and being you, and it will never really leave you. I think Belos, while confident, didnt know if he would win in the end, so he wanted to make sure he was with Hunter forever if he did fail.

Hey, I'm not sure if you've thought this through, but depicting Camila as a brutish, completely subservient monstrosity is a REALLY bad look. Like, I don't think you were trying to be malicious or anything, but you totally happened to stumble upon the most racist thing you could possibly do with that character. Just wanted to raise a concern.

Oh lord youre right im so sorry now that im looking at it that is very strange. I often draw characters in that sort of niche (aka frankenstein's monster-eque) and i didnt step back and think about how weird that looks. I will probably redesign her, since she isnt brutish or completely subserviant in my au and her design should reflect that. thank you for bringing it to my attention, have a nice day
