@sleazeballtm said -> "Hidge," Ted says it lazily, turning his head from where he sits-- bottle of beer in hand and other lifting to brush through his dark locks, "Do you have any idea what it's like to be this attractive? Like, don't get me wrong, you're a good looking guy-- but you're not getting any younger. Neither am I, but I'm definitely still in my prime, ya know?"
Henry is pulled from his reverie — having been lost in memories of the good ole days — he turns his head to look curiously at Ted, nose crinkling just slightly. “You’ve got an ego on you, don’t you?” He asks, cocking a curious brow before a smile is pulling at his lips. For some reason, Ted’s antics are endearing. “And what does that make me? Decay and rot?”

someone please stop me from thinking, from ruminating, from brooding about ted finding michelle crying at the window about how every day she hopes she’ll feel like she did at the beginning vs. rebecca constantly crying from how much she loves ted and wants him to stay and wants him to know she wants him to stay in every damn scene they share in this finale

When you're trying to be so subversive that instead of pairing your main male character with either a strong, rich, tall, self-sufficient, divorced, middle aged girlboss who would make a wonderful step-mother to his child, or a divorced gay man who came out in his 40s, with a daughter, with whom he could have created an amazing blended family, and would have made the main character bisexual, which would have been ground breaking, you made him go back to his suburban nuclear family home, ambiguously get back together with a woman that didn't truly love him for who he was and giving up his entire life outside of them, and ended up upholding traditional American values about what a family should look like.
Oh, and the woman also ends up with a nuclear family while the gay man ends up alone, shown to have nothing in his life other than his work.
But sure, pat yourselves on the back for not making the 2 leads get together!!! Or not making a rom-com ending because this "ain't that type of show"!!! It was so amazing and revolutionary!!!!!!

@sleazeballtm wanted henry hidgens
"I don't need you to understand, I just need you to help me." Henry says, looking at Ted with an almost pleading expression. It's too much, he knows, to expect Ted to just go with it, to roll up his sleeves and dig right in. That's just not who Spankoffski is, and Henry is prepared for the onslaught of questions and commentary he's about to receive. Or, at least he thinks he is. "Think you can manage that?"

A truly belaboured observational post about Red, White, And Royal Blue.
(Reposted with out ironic typos)
Do you know what I love about the differences between the book and the movie? The fact that Alex and Henry fucked in the book and dated in the movie. Now, don't get me wrong, they fall in love equally in both and have sex in both. What I mean to say is (pun unintentional) the novel uses sexual experiences to mark milestones in the deepening of their feelings for each other whereas the film implements relationship experiences to mark those same milestones. I just think that goes to show how brilliant Casey, Matthew, Ted, Taylor, and Nick all are at what they respectively do to highlight that distinction considering the constraints of a film's runtime limits vs. the imaginative freedom of writing your own novel.
I've been trying to put this in to words for months.
