violet let out a slow breath, the tension in her shoulders easing just a little as his arms tightened around her. his words, the steadiness in his voice, and the way he held her like she was something precious- it all felt so foreign and overwhelming, but in a way she wasn’t sure she wanted to push away anymore. "i didn't know you could be so gentle," she mumbled, burying her face against his chest. her voice was muffled, but there was a softness in it that hadn’t been there before. "but… i kinda like that about you." she stayed quiet for a moment, letting herself relax in the warmth of his embrace. his patience, his willingness to wait, and his promise to remind her. it was so different from anything she’d ever experienced. and as scary as it was, it also made her feel something she hadn’t felt in a long time. safe. so vi decided to tell him. "it... it happened about a year after the world went to shit. i was on a supply run with my friend and..." she swallows thickly. she was glad she wasn't looking at him. vi didn't want os to see her cry. but she was holding the tears in for now. "we ran into a group of men. they - they killed my friend and took me." she has to take another moment before continuing, trying to distance herself from the memories and speak calmly. her voice was monotone. completely detached from herself. "i was kept for weeks. they did... awful things." violet didn't think she could explain more, but hoped os could put together the pieces. from how she didn't like to be touched. her scars.

"You'll always be safe with me." He promises quietly, his fingers continuing to lightly caress up and down her back. Os was certain he'd do anything for Violet, even if it hurt himself in the end. Somehow, she became the most important person in his life. It made his chest ache in a way that felt familiar and yet foreign at the same time. Oswald had concluded that emotions made him dizzy, but it was worth it if it meant he got to have her in his life. He didn't quite have much that he could offer her other than his complete and utter adoration for her. "Of course, I promise." He keeps his voice steady and clear, hoping it would help ease her worries. He understood it was a difficult subject for her, and he was fine with not knowing if it meant she was more comfortable. "I've got you, Vi." He wraps his arms around her again, circling around her a bit more tightly this time. "We can change the subject if you're not ready. I'm fine with waiting, and I'll remind you of it everyday if I have to."

*Takes you by the shoulders* I ADORE character profiles and character trivia and likes and dislikes sections. I love knowing this ruthless, heartless, cruel man of a character has a childish dislike for mandarin oranges. I believe in the inherent beauty of all characters, no matter the background or moral stance, being made fundamentally human by assigning them insignificant culinary preferences. I stand by the supremacy of humanizing villains by giving them relatable tastes and trivial interests and ordinary hobbies. I treasure the hidden reminders that everyone is inherently human even when everything else we know about a character might suggest the contrary.

"Hm, so I see. You kind of remind me of someone I know, so I guess that makes sense. Conceited must be an older vampire thing." Louis replied with a slight nod. "It's nice to meet you though, Spike." Lestat certainly would have said the same thing, which is a bit uncanny. "If you say so."

when she saw nickie’s disappointed face, she immediately regretted saying anything. obviously, he could make his own choices. she knew what she’d signed up for, she just didn’t expect to get so attached. her attachment was clearly fine, though. it didn’t matter how they met, only that they did. it’d be easy to turn down his parent’s money if ending up with him was the outcome. falling for him was never a part of the plan and it was terrifying to her. “it’s not that i don’t want to —” she started, stopping herself before she could dig more of a hole. “it’s not that.” she shook her head, teeth sinking into her bottom lip. if this was what they both wanted, she had no reason not to give into temptation. blake moved slowly, legs gliding across the brunette’s lap. through their thin layers of underwear, she let out a soft gasp at the feeling of his member brushing against her. “here.” she murmured, digits reaching for him as she guided his hand up her body. she stopped at her chest, pressing his palm against her breast. with her thighs against nickie’s hips, she peered down at him. “i just really like you, that’s all. makes me wanna look out for you.” she lifted his chin towards her, thumb brushing against his bottom lip. “just do what feels right and we’ll go from there. okay?”

"you're nervous?" it was a small relief to know that he wasn't alone in feeling overwhelmed by everything going on, though blake was supposed to be the one who was taking control and guiding him. if she was uncertain about the way things were going, what hope was there for having a good time? "i'm sorry, you- you don't need to be nervous! it's all good." maybe he'd gotten a little over-excited, let his wandering eyes linger on her body too long and made her feel like an object. everything was just so new and intriguing, he couldn't resist getting swept up in how amazing the whole thing was. yet as blake continued to speak, nickie slowly realised that they weren't nervous for the same reason and his face fell from the dopey grin that had previously been decorating his features. "huh? what do you mean?" he frowned, face drawn up comically tight with his furrowed brows and scrunched nose. "i like you! i like you lots! d-do you think i don't?" maybe they weren't traditional but he saw no problem with that. he liked the way that things were with them, it would've been nice to meet her organically and without his parent's involvement but he would never have had the confidence to speak to her if that were the case. "i don't understand. you are so special. you're not- you're not just some girl." his sadness at potentially not getting to share this special moment with blake was evident in the way he whined, unable to stop himself from pouting up at her with big, hopeful puppy dog eyes. "you don't want to touch me?"
