Who asks the other on dates: Believe it or not, they'll alternate. Its something that they had talked about, but Nica hadn't realized it was actually something that they had done. The big dates ( like anniversaries ) are one things that they both agree on, && those are usually more extravagant. However, neither complains much about a nice night at home. Who is the bigger cuddler: They both are, honestly. Tess gives off a lot of body head, which Nica is completely fine with. She's even gotten to the point where she doesn't need any other blankets than a top sheet.

Who initiates holding hands more often: Nica, but mainly when they're just sitting on the couch. Whenever Nica uses her wheelchair or Chucky clicks in enough for her legs to work && she has to use her crutches, Tess puts her hand on either of Nica's shoulder in order to make sure the other's hands are free.

Who is more possessive: Tess does, but its just mainly when Chucky rears his head && makes some off comment about Nica. He's gotten better about it, mainly because he likes his body privileges, so he's developed some level of respect for Tess. He keeps any other comments or thoughts to himself, knowing that Nica would at least keep some of his thoughts private.

Who kills the spider: Tess, but that's mainly because Nica doesn't move around a lot. Sure, she'll get some help from Chucky when he's feeling cooperative, but it isn't something that she can always count on. Nica has decently good aim, and she's frequently been able to toss something at a bug to kill it. Thankfully, Tess generally brings the spider outside and deposits it safely.

Who asks the the other to marry them: That's not quite something they've talked about yet, or even decided on. Like the eight-ball says, "Ask Again." Who buys the other flowers or gifts: They trade off, honestly. It isn't like they actually keep a running tab, but often if Nica buys Tess a gift, Tess will trade off and give Nica some flowers. They won't buy each other really expensive gifts, at least not without talking it out first. Who would bring up possibly having kids: Neither of them. Its not that neither of them likes kids, but Nica knows that she's not able to have any herself. If there's a chance, she'd rather adopt a child. Yet, its not something that she or Tess think about often. There's a lot of risk, bringing a child into the world. Throw in mutant struggles and the fact that Nica doesn't know who she is at times, and its not something she'd want to bring a child into. Who is more nervous to meet the parents: Somehow I don't really think that's an issue. Nica knows that her mother wouldn't have really approved, although it wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that Tess is a woman. It more relies on the fact that Sarah Pierce didn't think anyone would be with Nica, but that was more of her worries projecting on her daughter. Tess really doesn't talk much about her parents, but Nica really didn't press or pry too much. There were things that Nica didn't talk about or bring up, and she gave Tess the same courtesy. There's several topics that are completely off limits, and they respect each other's boundaries. Who sleeps on the couch when the other is angry: Admittedly Nica does, but its also done out of kindness and love. She knows the couch gets way too uncomfortable for Tess, and Nica's used to manhandling her legs to where she can curl up on the couch. She'll wake up to find blankets on top of her in the morning, lovingly tucked under her neck and around her to make sure that she stays warm. Yet, the blankets are never tucked in enough that she has trouble getting out of it in the morning. In return, Nica makes coffee just the way Tess likes it that morning and they've made up. Yeah, they'll talk about it later, mainly because they don't want anything left unsaid. Who tries to make up first after arguments: Nica, but that's a partial combination of how she was raised as well as how she doesn't like going to bed angry. Yeah, she'll stew a lot and make sure that Tess is at least taken care of, but she'll never go to bed angry. She usually cooks to make up after arguments, although there's a lot of times where Nica sits in Tess's lap && waits for the other to wrap her arms around Nica's waist, which ends up in them making up after most of their arguments.

Who tells the other they love them more often: Tess, actually. She manages to beat Nica to it, && there's always a further depth to her words as well as any actions that follow. Nica shows her feelings in actions && words, but she's trying to catch up to Tess in terms of endearment. Trying is the keyword, because she doesn't think she'll ever catch up to Tess.

I’d love to know your hc on this: if PC has fertility issues how do you think Kylar or Sydney would feel about it?

hmmm...good question, because i think these two (and eden) are the ones who want to start a family with pc the most.

i think they would both have the same initial reaction - obviously, they would both be incredibly disappointed. but they would go about it differently for sure.

sydney would be more pragmatic. both pure and corrupt. they would do a lot of praying about it in the temple and do lots of research into fertility specialists (outside of town, no WAY would syd trust harper with this) and do everything they could. medications, herbal supplements, any sort of thing they think could help they would try. for both you and themselves because they're not stupid, they know it's possible they're to blame for the issues as well. they would track menstrual cycles to ensure you have sex at the most fertile time possible. and corrupt syd would just be rawdogging as much as possible saying it would increase your chances.

kylar would start going insane basically asap. would manage to get their hands on the most illegal, black market fertility drugs. robbing the hospital for theirs and finding even more on the dark web. you're not comfortable with that? no worries, kylar will take them themselves! jsut don't look away when you two are eating together because kylar WILL secretly dose your food every fucking day. i think that it would be very troubling for kylar. they're SURE they're fertile, and you're perfect, so there can't be anything wrong with you. you guys have to fuck raw as often as you can because it just doesn't make sense. you're meant to be together, so you deserve to have as many babies as possible!

he normally wasn’t one for much deep affections, so what was it with you that made him think about you so often? maybe it was because even when he would act friendly with you, your reactions felt so… genuine.

yes, those reactions felt so raw — he almost couldn’t believe it himself. whenever you two ran into each other, he would casually greet you, calling you “robin” and teasing you. he gets more of a kick every time you make a retort, claiming it’s worth teasing you (playing with you). he enjoyed making you dance atop his hand.

but despite being the one teasing you, it almost seemed as though you would sometimes play with his feelings as well, making him feel something between love and bitterness.

so he would hold your hand, and play with your feelings in turn, like he would a toy. so that if you fell in love with him, he could watch you pine in an unrequited love.

and yet, you had reached out a hand to him, asking for a friendship. nika had warned him — “you can’t make friends with them, ring” — and yet the hand that reached out to him seemed so warm and gentle…

it was a somewhat fragile friendship, and it felt like a single word from dari or nika could shatter it to a million pieces, seeing as you two were in different organizations. and yet, you had shown him so many firsts.

Because of her mother’s and sister’s treatment of her, Nica was led to believe she wouldn’t be able to be a fit mother. She had pushed it out of her mind until Alice was born. The instant adoration she felt the first time she saw that little baby surprised her, but she still was afraid to hold her and get close to her. She was incredibly curious about the baby, though, and relentlessly asked Barbie questions about being a mother.

The first time Alice called her Auntie Nica and hugged her everything changed and she fell in LOVE. Alice was HERS, which became more apparent as her parent’s attention drifted and Nica became her safe space. The first time Alice skinned her knee and cried for Nica instead of her parents Nica secretly thought “I’m a Mom...” and then felt guilty about it immediately and was terrified they would somehow know how she felt. She promised herself she would protect and love Alice for as long as she lived, something she still blames herself for “failing” to do.

The responsibility of loving and caring for a kid- especially after losing Alice- still makes her nervous and she still doubts her ability on hard days, but NOTHING makes her feel better than having one of the kids come to her for the maternal affection/advice/love they need, and Andy is her biggest supporter when she worries she can’t do enough for them. Andy tells her how much of a natural she is, which Nica only realizes how big of a compliment that is when she meets Andy’s mother and sees what he had to compare her with.

Nica absolutely struggles with everything Chucky and Tiffany put her through, but she feels like with taking in the kids and protecting them she has a purpose again.

In any event where Nica and Chucky cooperate long enough, there's a high possibility that Nica's able to walk without any assistance. However, if it goes on for an extended period, or if she and Chucky start fighting over primary control, different mobility aids come in to play. Nica's wheelchair is a reliable one, but in most cases she'll use a pair of forearm crutches. These crutches in particular provide the structure and support that she needs while still maintaining her balance. The one thing she tries staying away from is a walker, but that's mainly for personal reasons. In the event that the crutches do not work for a particular environment, the immediate fall back in the wheelchair ... unless someone is able to carry Nica. Chucky finds it childish, but Nica definitely prefers the moments when she can get carried by an object of her affection.

Do they often fight over control for the body? Oh, absolutely, but they've both learned that things go over better if they work together.

he gets jealous whenever you give the baby more attention

definitely very doting when you’re pregnant though. does everything you ask of him. keeps you locked in the basement to ensure nothing goes wrong with the pregnancy. no worries dr kylar is on the case :)

but once the baby is born? no Shot. gets jealous when you breastfeed so you’ll need to save some milk for kylar :)

This isn’t a fanfiction. I actually decided to write that essay I joked about in my last post. I just want to give a word of warning: I am probably not qualified to talk about this, I’m not a psychologist, I just wanted to give this a shot and write my observations on the Chucky franchise through the lens of parental abuse.

After a long period of examination, I’ve concluded that the Chucky franchise is mainly about Chucky traumatising and interfering with the lives of various children. This could perhaps be an allegory for parental abuse and manipulation. In this essay I will examine Chucky’s relationships with Andy Barclay, Jake Wheeler, Barbara and Nica Pierce and Glen and Glenda Tilly-Ray-Valentine.

It is fair to assume that (before their murders) Chucky’s parents spoiled him. This is evident when they do little to nothing when he smashes his birthday piñata with a bat. The fact that young Charles is comfortable and unafraid of doing this in front of his parents suggests that something similar happened before and was not challenged or corrected. Perhaps overindulgence fed into Chucky’s anger issues to the point where, if denied, Chucky flies into a rage?

As well as parental abuse (which I will discuss shortly) Chucky has frequently engaged in domestic abuse as well as murder. His relationships with Sarah Pierce and Tiffany Valentine display a large amount of entitlement and mental instability, from killing his romantic partners’ loved ones to threatening their lives if not worse, Chucky’s desire for control is evident in his interactions with women. His murders could be seen as an outlet for his fury, he almost always seems happier (if not calmer) when he’s killed someone. In his own words, killing helps him to ‘relax’, and much like the destruction of the piñata, this form of destructive behaviour has been encouraged by people such as Tiffany and Dr. Mixter, who should have endeavoured to correct this behaviour yet refused to due to their own fascinations with Chucky’s insanity.

The first two victims of Chucky’s parental abuse are Barbara and Nica Pierce. Whilst it’s not explicitly implied that Chucky abused Barbara (probably due to a desire to raise her as his own) up until her death it is clear that she has been impacted by the traumatic events of her youth. She struggles to maintain a healthy relationship with her husband (probably recalling what happened to her mother, even subconsciously) and has a nanny raise her child. A reason for this (as well as for social status) could be either an inability to connect with her (not wanting to get attached in case she loses her in a similar incident to what happened to her and her mother when she was young) or a desire to protect her child with additional help, refusing to let Alice go through what she went to. The trauma that Chucky induced at an early age led Barbara to seek distractions or answers in life, through religion and an affair with Alice’s nanny.

Nica is an example of the longterm effects of parental abuse. Before she is even born, one of Chucky’s outbursts leaves her paralysed (years later, Chucky denies responsibility for this and insists that he is the victim). This betrayal makes it harder for Nica to trust people, especially when Chucky possesses her and tries to make her cooperate with him. 

Whereas Nica Pierce is an example of the longterm physical effects of parental abuse, Andy Barclay is an example of the longterm mental effects of parental abuse. He first encounters Chucky as a child, and the doll sends the boy’s life into total upheaval, eventually causing him to be removed from his mother. Along with physical violence, Chucky tries to manipulate Andy into thinking that he was sent from his deceased father to be with him, almost trying to take Andy’s father’s place in his life. To this day, Andy cannot ever feel safe because he always fears that Chucky will hurt him again. If looked at through the lens of parental abuse and not a desire to steal Andy’s body, Chucky’s continuous attempts to hurt Andy could be attributed to a desire to control, cultivated in his youth due to a lack of intervention when Chucky first displayed violent tendencies.

Glen and Glenda are Chucky’s only biological children. His relationship with them contains a continuous cycle of punishment and reward: when they obey him they are praised and rewarded, when they disobey they are attacked and punished (Chucky even threatens to ‘punish’ them in the finale of Season 2). There is also clear favouritism, the child that seems similar to Chucky is praised and the one that favours peace is shunned (this could be attributed to Chucky’s underlying narcissism). One of this is when Chucky thinks that Glen is a murderer like him and calls him a ‘natural’, yet when Glen comes at him with an axe he doesn’t hesitate to attack because Glen is disobeying him (interestingly though, when Glen kills him, he is immensely proud because Glen is exhibiting behaviour that Chucky considers desirable in his offspring). Another example of this is when Chucky refers to Glenda as his ‘favourite kiddo’ when it appears as if they are going to free him: the child that is the most helpful or like him at a certain moment will become his new favourite.

The relationship in which the parental abuse is most apparent is the relationship between Chucky and Jake Wheeler. Following the death of his father, Chucky almost tries to take a parental role in Jake’s life, trying to mould the teenager into a younger version of himself and even snooping through his things. Even though Jake purchasing Chucky was by chance and Chucky needs any innocent person to kill in order to raise his army, I personally believe that Chucky’s narcissistic tendencies once again come into play and he begins to see Jake as a younger version of himself (this is supported by the fact that teenage Chucky looks slightly like Jake). There is yet another endless cycle of punishment and reward, when Jake agrees to kill he is rewarded with a pleasant conversation in which Chucky gives him advice and tells him about his childhood, but when he disobeys Chucky, (it is heavily implied that) he gets beaten. Despite apologising and claiming it will never happen again, Chucky attacks Jake in the finale of Season 1 and throughout Season 2. Another example of Chucky manipulating Jake to try and endear himself to the teenager is that he claims he is (at least) an ally to the LGBTQ+ community by mentioning his gender fluid children Glen and Glenda and insisting that he is not ‘a monster’. This too is proven false when he mockingly says to Jake ‘that is so gay’ in the finale, causing the boy to retaliate. 

In conclusion, the Chucky franchise could very well be an allegory for parental abuse and manipulation, explored through Chucky’s relationships with the various children and teenagers he encounters. The violence that began unchecked in Chucky’s youth developed into murder and a ruthless desire to control anybody even remotely under his care, mentally and physically traumatising people such as Andy Barclay, Nica Pierce, Jake Wheeler and Glen and Glenda.

Chucky Headcanons: Being Nica’s girlfriend and trying to help her save her family ( Nica x Fem Reader Curse of Chucky AU)

Love you so so much and since i’m imagining this for you it is partially personalized. However, it is still enjoyable for anyone else. 

I made the reader be a pagan in your honor, but the pagan practice i described here resembles what i have learn somewhere else. My knowledge is better in latin american paganism and the representation resembles that more, hope is still good anyways :) 

- You started dating Nica in college and you realized from the start that it was going to be hard, but your persistence won her over completely. No matter how difficult things would become, you always stayed by her side.

 - Reassuring Sarah in her constant fears for her daughter to get hurt was the hardest part, but with time and patience you managed her to trust you. The key was that you became a frequent company for both of them, always showing yourself understanding of whatever arrangements needed to be made for the situation to work. You have a complicated relationship with your mother that always made your communication distant with her, so the close bond your girlfriend had with her mother was the opposite of what you were used to at home. 

- Receiving the news of her tragic end hitted you hard, you simply couldn’t believe it. There were no reasonable explanations. Alongside Nica you had seen Sarah at one of her bad moments at some point, but she didn’t seem like going through one of those at that moment. Things seemed to get better, not worse. 

- Of course, you were going to remain with her through the painful moments and say your last goodbye to her mother, a woman you did grow fond of after getting to know her as well as you could. If you had to be honest, she was the only member of your girlfriend’s family that you felt liked you for real. The interactions with her sister have always been tense, from the very first moment you were introduced. You can tell she has always found you too unconventional or, better said, a complete weirdo. Her husband remains neutral, but their little daughter is fascinated by you and that creates a constant source of tension between all of you that Jill tries to calm. 

- To Barb you are just a free spirited ex hippie like college girl whose life is going nowhere. It’s a false stereotype that doesn’t even fit your vibes, but you imagine she imposed on you over the fact that you are the exact opposite of everything she values. As it was natural to expect from her once she starts to manipulate the situation trying to kick Nica out of her house, she accuses you of being there to move with her and cling to her inheritance. 

- You are not a confrontational person, but she is going too far and you can’t stand it. Your defense of Nica is aggressively passionate and at that point you hold on just for her. The atmosphere is so loaded with negativity, which is perfectly understandable because a person just died, but you have to make something to get yourself together before you can get kicked out yourself. 

- For so, you try to stop focusing on the bullshit of adults for a while and pay attention to Alice. No one else is doing it, so they have no reason to stay mad at it. The little girl seems distracted, something normal to expect. She is processing the death of her grandma and as part of it she asks you all sorts of questions. Nica explained to her that you are a pagan and your belief systems are different from their family’s, so she wants to know what you think would be the fate of Sarah’s soul. 

-  “Chucky says there is no God.” Alice wonders out loud. “ but you believe there are many.”  

You aren’t sure of who explained her about atheism, but that can’t be coming from her alone.

“ Who is Chucky, darling?” 

The girl pointed at the red haired doll she found right there at her arrival, handling it to you with pride so you would check on it. 

- You didn’t know what to say, so you pretended to salute him to carry on with the conversation ignoring it. However, some of the things that came out from Alice’s mouth couldn’t be ignored. She was speaking as someone else, but not resembling anyone there. 

- The matter kept twirling in your mind for a while and you were thinking about the conditions of Sarah’s passing. She died in that house and no kind of purification rituals were made, not even by that priest Barb brought. The house could be haunted and not precisely by her spirit, something else could have found the way in after the tragedy made that place attractive. 

- Asking only for Nica’s permission, you decide to make a first step into figuring out what should be done: a spiritual cleanse. A simple smoke cleanse for the start, purposely choosing a method friendly to the christian eye for its similarities with the practices of the catholic church that you have already done there knowing Nica had the supplies. To not cause any more troubles, you do it only in the room where the death happened. 

- You get stopped in your tracks by little Alice and her plastic friend, what you should have seen coming because she was always curious around you. Trying to explain what you were about to do would have been pointless to satisfy her, the girl would have wanted to follow you and you couldn’t allow that. You bring the singular duo back with your girlfriend, easier than trying to localize Jill.

 -  “ The smoke she was doing cleanses energies.” Nica tried to explain to her. “ She was trying to help grandma reach heaven in her way. It’s different from us, but she wants to help.” 

You were smiling a bit noticing a glimpse of pride in her saying that. 

“ It can also help everyone feel better, i feel better afterwards everytime i do it. More calm, peaceful. Less feisty to fight with your mom.“ 

- In order to satisfy her curiosity without upsetting anyone even more, you show her how it works by practicing it on the doll, which ended up a complete disaster. The charcoal burns in an unnatural way, something you have never seen before. The pleasant smell of herb mix and incense turns into a disgusting pest that made you think you could have started a fire. 

- You are convinced that then you are going to get kicked out, especially considering what you have to say to defend yourself. 

- “ There is something deeply wrong with that thing.” You insist on telling Nica as soon as she gets an hysterical Barb away from you. “ Remember how many times have I done that for you and nothing strange happened.” 

“ It’s an unfortunate coincidence, maybe you are just stressed from having to defend yourself all the fucking time.” 

You looked at her deathly seriously. 

“ I hate to be asking you this…. Does your family have any enemies?” 

She didn’t manage to fully understand the meaning behind the question.

“ What are you talking about?” 

“ Whoever sent you that doll hates you, I’m convinced of that. “ 

You take her hand and she pulls you for a kiss, reassuring gesture trying to hide your concerns and hers away. 

“ I love you, Nica, I seriously do. Tell me you are on my side even though I sound insane. Lie to me if you have to.” 

The pure devotion in your eyes made her smile briefly. 

“ I don’t know if it would be of any help, but there is something I have never told you about…”

Chucky LGBTQ Headcannons

Part One:

Tiffany Valentine (she/her) - panromantic demisexual

Tiffany has dated and been romantic with both men and women. She dated Damien while Chucky was gone, was romantic/sensual with Delilah when Chucky asked her too at their first meeting, dated Chucky as a man, a doll, and a woman (Nica’s body), and was in love with Nica when she wasn’t being possessed by Chucky.

I think she was in love with both Chucky and Nica at different points in time. She literally waited ten years to be able to get all of the pieces of Chucky’s doll body back together to bring him back to life so she could be with him again. And with Nica, after “dating” her originally because part of Chucky’s soul was in her body, she eventually tells Nica:

"You see, the thing is, Nica. I spend some time with you, I spend some time with Chucky and I gotta say, I like you better."

and

"Sometimes when we're together, I see you looking at me and I know it's you. It's not Chucky. It's you, and I live for those moments. I wanna have those moments all the time."

She loved Chucky first, then Nica.

And she doesn’t really care what gender the person is, she just loves who she loves. Even when Chucky was fully in control of Nica’s body at the end of Cult of Chucky, she tells him that she doesn’t mind and that she kind of likes him being in a woman’s body.

Now, as far as her being demisexual, when she was with Damien, she never slept with him, and she says:

“I’ll kill anybody, but I’ll only sleep with somebody I love.”

As someone on the ace spectrum myself, that line has made me headcannon her as demisexual since I first watched Bride of Chucky.

I also think that Tiff is probably very educated on different sexualities and genders, because when Glen/Glenda told her and Chucky that they wanted to be both a girl and a boy, before getting cut off by Chucky, she starts to explain that some people may identify that way. That movie took place in 2004, and not near as many people then were aware of nonbinary identities. But despite being educated on sexualities and genders, I don’t think that Tiffany really feels the need to label her sexuality. For her, it’s just who she is.

Anyway, I’ll probably make another one of these soon because I’m way too invested into the Chucky franchise and the lgbtq representation we get in it :))

Nica headcanon: Despite that fact she initially enjoyed the peace and silence after getting Chucky out of her head, she soon begins to find it unsettling. Whenever Chucky was silent it was always because he was thinking of a way taunt her, either one of his memories, mocking her thoughts or one of her own worst memories.

So she always has music or a podcast playing if she is somewhere quiet or alone and has headphones with her in case, at least she can choose what she is listening to then.
