(CW: JP SPOILERS FOR VOGEL, ENG SPOILERS FOR VICTOR, SPOILER ABOUT KATE IN WILLIAM'S BLIND ROUTE. ALL OF THESE ARE SPECULATIONS.)

VICTOR'S BACKSTORY

• How do you know about this story, Victor? Did she tell you this herself? Or were you her Aide even when the Queen had just ascended to the throne? If so, how old are you actually? So many questions!!

• So Victor hasn’t told this secret to anyone else... Not even William, then?

• Also, why that child in particular? It sounds like he’s implying something here...

• What if he is the child in question?

VICTOR'S PROFILE

• Firstly, the “resent” section on the Villains’ profile usually gives some information that’s directly linked to their past

• This can be applied to the currently released routes: William with his “restrictions on freedom” and Harrison with his “corruption, police” (Liam’s a different case here)

• In Victor’s profile, it’s stated that he resents “being excluded”. Therefore, it’s likely that he has experienced or witnessed an incident related to this in the past

• The most logical conclusion would be that it is related to his status as the Grim Reaper. It’s only natural if he were feared by others for his connection with Death. Perhaps, that’s why he acts cheerful and lively. So that people aren’t afraid of approaching him. However, it has been seen in events that he does have a hidden side to him — one that is much more dangerous —and he even mentions it in his bond story

• The other plausible conclusion is related to my previous theory that he was that child. Though we don’t know at which age he got his curse, we can safely assume that he’s been working in the palace for a long time, potentially before the Crown was created. In such an environment, it’s easy for him to be discriminated against by politicians and other nobles

• The lack of his last name can connect to these two conclusions. Maybe he doesn’t have one because he’s the Grim Reaper. Or... He had no family at all?

• Let’s look at his other sections: skills — dancing, magic tricks, piano

• Dancing and playing the piano are typically the things you’d learn if you were an aristocrat. Especially at a young age

• This disproves my theory of him being that child. But you know what contradicts this? Sewing and baking/cooking are also one of his skills, though not written explicitly here

• You could argue that he learned to do those things for the sake of the Crown, just like with his magic tricks

• But it’s surely more interesting to think, what if he knew these things from a young age? As a means of survival. Because he only had himself for the longest time until Queen Victoria came along

• I know he’s exaggerating his feelings here, but what if it’s true? He feels so lonely, all the time, despite being surrounded by everyone.

• This is addressed towards Harry and Jude, but what if he said this to others before? To stop them from leaving 'cause they didn't want to be around him

• There’s already a lot of theories about the relationship between the Queen and her Aide. Siblings, lovers, friends or even that Victor is the Queen. Who knows?

• Side note: why is Victor always called as eccentric or a weirdo in-game? What has he done to deserve this? He’s just a silly lil guy (called the Grim Reaper)

DARIUS AND VICTOR'S DYNAMIC

• Moving on, here’s why I think Darius could possibly be the rival in Victor’s route or vice versa

• Appearance-wise, they both have contrasting colours. And contrasting personalities, for Victor at least

• Both Lynn and Nica also have whites in their outfits, however, Darius is probably the one with the lightest colours (his golden hair and eyes count too)

• Most of us imagined Victor would’ve been ruthless and wickedly evil based on his dark appearance (not that he isn’t; we simply haven’t seen that side of him). You’d never have expected a villain with the title of Grim Reaper to be some happy-go-lucky single father of 8, would you?

• Darius’ title (not officially translated) is something along the lines of “The Cruel Angel of Distrust”. He’s likely the type to be all polite and kind on the outside while harbouring twisted plans in his mind

• Victor is the leader of Crown whereas Darius is the Chief of Vogel; both organisations have cursed members

• Funnily enough, Darius apparently hates scones. Then there’s the long-haired dad who loves buttering up his scones with EXTRA butter

• Both of them are collecting the Cursed like Pokémon

• He won't hesitate to steal your girl

• Victor, despite his philosophy of freedom, subtly exerts dominance through his words and actions. It’s not that noticeable because of his carefree attitude, but it’s definitely there

• So how would Darius act?

PERSONAL THOUGHTS ON VOGEL

• Vogel appears to follow a uniform code to some extent, most noticeable with Nica and Lynn

• Both of them also have the Vogel organisation symbol separately on a badge like thing?

• Whereas Darius has his on the neck

DARIUS

• What in the world are milk puzzles? Does anyone have an answer? (I've received an answer by @/fictional-men-set-my-standard so thank you!)

• This actually makes me think he really likes the colour white. And by extension, purity. He's also the only one wearing gloves in Vogel (Lynn should be wearing gloves too, fingerless ones specifically)

• Proposal: Darius’ nickname should be Darry (or Darrie if you prefer that spelling)

• As previously mentioned, the “Resent” section of each Villains’ profile tends to be related to their past

• For Darius, it says something like “looking after living things,” which makes me think he could've had a pet that died because of him

• His weapon is interesting, the top part resembles the handle of a cane, while the end is sharp like a sword

• His line, “Hello, Cursed and all. Won’t you join me in creating a wonderful world?” is supposed to make him sound kind, but it’s giving the impression that he has a twisted sense of humanity

• Bet he has something against people who are not Cursed, or treats them differently

• Is he a noble by any chance? His whole look screams rich

• This might be an overreach but I NEED him to be this person from Kate’s childhood

• It could be anyone else but this just feels like it would suit Darius’ nature

• Childhood friend troupe with him aaaaah

NICA

• Both variations of his name are cute (Nika/Nica)

• His “Resents” are something like “deep affection”, which is ironic since he’s apparently a frivolous, cunning man who plays around with love. Does his curse involve something with controlling feelings?

• Maybe inside, he’s deprived of love. All playboys are desperately in need of love in their lives

• He sounds like a good rival for Jude, especially with his interest in money and power. Plus, he knows how to forge a person’s writing, which is handy for messing up contracts

• “I’ll play with you like a toy” — Alfons better watch out you’ve got a new competitor

LYNN (RING)

• And for Lynn, his “Resents” say something like “eating alone”? Which makes me think he could have spent a period of time where he ate all by himself, without Nica, at the dinner table...

• And yes, I’m calling Ring “Lynn” because it's much cuter

• His hobby of sitting in the corner of a room oddly reminds me of a doll (or puppet in this case) thrown away, forgotten

SWAN LAKE

• I’m not at all familiar with the story of Swan Lake, so I had to do some research first

• As with all fairytales, there’s going to be many variations and multiple endings, but I’m going to follow the general plot

• The story primarily involves Rothbart, an evil sorcerer who turns Odette into a swan and prevents the curse from being broken by sending his daughter Odile to fool the prince

• Darius’ last name makes more sense when you relate it to his curse, Rothbart, who was able to transform into an owl

• Befitting an owl, Darius also happens to have a sharp sense of sight and smell

• The organisation being called Vogel makes sense now since all their curses are from the Swan Lake, which heavily involves themes of transformation and birds

• Both Nica and Lynn seem to have the same curse, though I think it’s more fitting for Nica

• He is a sly schemer who manipulates feelings, just like Odile, who does it with the prince, by pretending to be Odette

• Lynn is described as Darius’ puppet, and he’s not exactly villainous, judging by his profile.

• His hobbies, skills, and likes remind me more of Odette, but of course, he can’t be the white swan, right?

FOOD FOR THOUGHT?

• All Villains have Curses based on the respective Villain of their fairytale (or an associated object like the magic mirror in Alfons case)

• Which makes me think... What if “curses” also existed for the heroes? What if, instead of being called the Cursed, such people would be called the “Blessed”?

• And they’d have “blessings” based on the protagonist or good guys of the respective fairytale. And their ending will always be happy

• Unless they try to escape it. You know, do things they shouldn’t. Opening secret doors, entering forbidden forests... And falling in love with Villains

Hi! I'm an apprentice librarian at a university of education, and I'd like to suggest our library get some TTRPGs, ones that are available in print and suitable for school (since our userbase is mainly aspiring teachers), ideally with a German translation (I know that part may be difficult).

Do you have some suggestions?

Theme: Available in German!

Hello friend, so my strategy for this was to find some German websites for roleplaying games and then try to see if they sold physical copies of certain games. This is going to be a bit different from my regular recommendations, mostly because I can’t read German! So I figured I’d send you to these different publishers, and point out specific games that look like potential candidates.

(Also German-speaking followers please sound off in the tags and comments!)

Plotbunny Games @plotbunnygames

From what I can tell, this is a small publisher with a number of indie ttrpgs, and most of these games look to have physical copies. The games that really stand out to me here are Follow, and Miss Bernberg’s Finishing School for Young Ladies. Follow is a game by Ben Robbins, the creator of Microscope, and is a GM-less collaborative storytelling game about going on a quest. I think it would be a great game for collaboration and quick brainstorming sessions. Miss Bernberg’s Finishing School for Young Ladies is made in-house, and is a Firebrands game, which means that it uses a number of small mini-games to tell a bigger story. Great for focusing on narrative over complex characters. There’s also a German translation of ImproVeto, which is a great tool for introducing safety tools, good for any roleplaying group.

Obscurati

Obscurati has two games that I recognize: Tiny Dungeons and Into the Dark. Tiny Dungeons is made by Gallant Knight Games. It is very streamlined, and has a lot of supplements for you to customize your setting. Obscurati appears to have a large number of physical Tiny Dungeon components, including a hardcover book. If you want traditional fantasy, this is probably worth checking out. Into the Dark is a Forged-in-Dark game by Off Guard Games, and is a dark-fantasy dungeon delving game that gives you character playbooks, tables for adventure generation, and a streamlined game system. I’m generally a fan of Forged in the Dark games because they give you some easy-to-understand mechanics that can carry a story really far. (This game is also in hardcover!)

Ulisses Spiele

Ulisses Spiele looks to be a pretty major publisher, with D&D, Warhammer, and Pathfinder all in one house. I'm assuming you're probably familiar with them. If you want a big-name roleplaying game, this is the place to be. Many of the games from this publishing house are pretty crunchy, so they’re more suited for folks who want to go through the traditional process of complex character creation, and specific rules for things like range, inventory, specific types of damage, etc.

If you’re looking for games that hearken to popular media, Dune and Tales from the Loop both come from Modiphius, a games company with a pretty good reputation for mechanically sound games, although they generally require a lot of bookkeeping. World of Darkness is the game system I’m most familiar with in this list, using dice pools of d10s, although much of the subject matter in these games is rather dark - especially since the bulk of their WoD catalogs appears to be Vampire: the Masquerade. I’m actually really intrigued by Die Schwarze Katze, of which I’m not entirely sure there is an English equivalent, and appears to be a fantasy game with cat characters!

Truant Spiele

Truant has a number of games that I am unfamiliar with, although I may have heard of their names before. Kult is labelled as an adult roleplaying game, so if you want something child-friendly, I’d stay away, and The One Ring has not received many friendly reviews - but Warbirds is a fantastical-historical game about fighter pilots and aerial combat, which looks pretty lighthearted, although this looks like a game that can have winners and losers. There’s also The Witcher RPG, a class-based system all about fighting monsters in a well-loved world based on that of the video game. The Witcher looks to be a bit on the crunchier side of things, so I’d see it as a better candidate for long-term campaigns rather than quick pick-up sessions. Finally, they carry Cyberpunk Red, which I’ve heard rave reviews for, with pre-generated enemies, a giant swathe of lore, and plenty of player support.

Fiasco

There’s a physical German version of Fiasco on the Pro-Indie website, along with a number of supplements. Fiasco is a game about a making a terrible movie using card stock and dice, and is great for lighthearted games and ridiculous stories.

Now, for some digital runners-up.

Pegasus Digital looks to be a German version of DriveThru Rpg, with a smaller catalogue but a lot of resources for Cthulhu 7, Shadowrun, and Avatar Legends. If you get folks who want to see what else is out there, this might be a handy website to direct them to.

Hero Kids is a game that only has a physical version in English, but it has a digital German equivalent! This is a great game for young role-players and folks who want a kid-friendly style of role-play.

DURF is a minimalist fantasy game with a number of different translations, including a German one. It isn’t available in print, but the game itself is small enough that printing copies of the game for yourself and fellow players shouldn’t be very expensive. DURF is based in OSR style play, so expect very small character sheets and an emphasis on your inventory.

Brindlewood Bay is only available in English and Polish, as far as I can tell- but there is a collection of play materials available in German! This game has such a big following because it has a reputation for being easy to teach, and it has a really wonderful mystery system, so I think it might be worth checking out.

Ich denke nur: „Das hört sich ja ganz gut an, und mich draußen in der Öffentlichkeit in dem herrlichen Fuzzy und Fluffy Catsuit zu zeigen war einfach ein aufregendes und großartiges Erlebnis. Was ich mich ohne Michelle vorher nie getraut hätte.“

Michelle lasst mich aus dem Käfig und hilft mir in die Stiefel und bindet eine Leine an den Ring des Hodensacks am Catsuit. Sie zieht mich mit Elan an der Leine Richtung Ausgang „Mmmpf“ muss ich unweigerlich aufstöhnen und ohne zu murren, folge ich ihr brav nach draußen.

Draußen angekommen muss ich mit Entsetzen sehen was für ein Ausflug geplant ist.

Nadine wartet mit Fuzzy Tom in seinem blauen Fluffy Catsuit und Scratchy Sofia in ihrem kratzigen bürstenartigen Catsuit mit ihren Foxtail-Plugs vor der Tür.

Die beide tragen Leder Fußfesseln, so dass sie nur kleine Trippelschritte machen können, und Ihre Hände sind mit Leder Fesseln an der Hüfte fixiert, dazu tragen sie ein Ledergeschirr um den Kopf.

So ausgestattet sind die beiden jeweils vor eine kleine Kutsche gespannt.

Neben Fuzzy Tom ist ein freier Platz für mich vorgesehen.

Nadine legt mir die Hand und Fußfesseln an danach das Ledergeschirr an den Kopf mit einer Gummi Trense als Knebel.

So verschnürt spannt Nadine mich neben Fuzzy Tom an die Kutsche. Die Leine am Hodensack bindet sie mit der Leine von Tom zusammen und gibt diese Michelle in die Hand.

Michelle steigt auf die Kutsche die Leinen in der einen Hand eine Peitsche in der anderen.

Michelle sagt: „So meine kleinen Pferdchen die Fahrt kann endlich losgehen; hopp hopp los!“

Und schon knallt die Peitsche „Peng, Peng, Peng“ auf meinen und Toms Hintern.

Ich stöhne kurz auf „Aaaaah, Aaaaah“ und setze mich mit Tom mit kleinen Tippelschritten in Bewegung, mit dem angenehmen Gefühl des hin und her schwingenden Foxtail-Plug in meinem After bei jedem Schritt.

Nadine folgt uns mit ihrer Kutsche und ihrem Pony Scratchy Sofia.

Durch einen beherztesten Zug an meinen Eiern lenkt Michelle die Kutsche nach links auf den Bürgersteig.

In einiger Entfernung sehe ich schon die ersten Passanten in unsere Richtung kommen.

Ich denke nur: „Mein Gott ist das peinlich und da vorne kommen schon die nächsten, am liebsten wurde ich vor Scham im Boden versinken.“

Als wir auf der gleichen Höhe sind, starren uns die die Leute irritiert mit großen Augen an und zeigen tuschelend mit dem Finger auf uns.

Mit sichtlich Spaß lenkt Michelle uns durch die Stadt in Richtung Park.

Immer wieder schlägt Michelle die Peitsche auf unsere Hintern und steuert mit Zug an den Eiern die Richtung der Kutsche.

Doch mit der Zeit gewöhne ich mich an die Blicke der Passanten und finde immer mehr gefallen an meiner Rolle und meine Herrin durch die Stadt zu ziehen.

Es ist ein herrliches und anregendes Gefühl als wir den Park erreichen und Michelle bei dem schönen Herbstwetter durch die Natur ziehen dürfen mit dem angenehmen Gefühl der Fuzzy Wolle des Catsuit auf der Haut.

Nach dem wir eine Zeitlang durch die Natur gelaufen sind ruft Michelle an einer Lichtung „Brrrr, anhalten“ und sie zieht zum Anhalten kräftig an den Leinen, die an den Eiern befestigt sind. „Aaaaaah“, muss ich unweigerlich aufstöhnen.

Michelle steigt ab und bindet mich und Fuzzy Tom mit den Leinen an einen Baum.

Michelle wendet sich an Nadine die kurz hinter uns ist: Hier können wir schön Picknicken.“

Nadine bindet Scratchy Sofia neben uns an und legt für das Picknick eine große Pelzdecke auf die Wiese.

Michelle und Nadine setzen sich mit einem Picknickkorb mit Leckereien auf die Pelzdecke öffnen eine Flasche Sekt und lassen es sich beim Sonnenschein gut gehen, wärend wir angeleint am Baum stehen müssen.

Ein Pärchen, dass am Weg vorbeikommt, grüßt freundlich und sagt lächelnd: „Na das sieht ja herrlich aus so ein Picknick in der Natur und es ist bestimmt auch spaßig mit euren tollen Pferdchen.“

Michelle antworte: „Guten Tag, ja genau ein echtes Vergnügen.“

Die Frau fragt neugierig: „Darf ich mir das mal naher anschauen? Ich habe so etwas noch nicht gesehen und ihr alle tragt auch so unglaublich schöne Fuzzy Wollkleidung.“

Michelle antwortet: „Ja natürlich, wenn ihr wollt, könnt ihr gerne mal eine Runde fahren. Die zwei Pferdchen würden sich freuen euch zu ziehen.“

Die Frau spricht zu ihrem Mann: „Super komm schon John, dass ist bestimmt ein Spaß lass uns das bitte machen.“

Kurz gesagt und getan führt Michelle die zwei zur Kutsche.

Die Frau streichelt mich und Fuzzy Tom ein wenig und sagt: „Wow wie wundervoll soft sind die zwei, so etwas hätte ich auch gerne.“

Michelle bindet uns los und gibt dem Pärchen die Leine und Peitsche in die Hand.

Michelle sagt: „Na, dann viel Spaß“ sie erklärt kurz wie man steuert und die zwei nehmen lachend auf der Kutsche Platz.

Ich denke nur: „Oooh man, damit habe ich jetzt aber nicht auch noch gerechnet.“

Doch wehrlos angeleint füge ich mich meinem Schicksal. Als die Peitsche knallt, „Peng, Peng, Peng“ tippeln ich und Fuzzy Tom mit dem Lachenden Pärchen auf der Kutsche los.

Als wir nach einer Runde durch den Park zurückkommen, warten Michelle und Nadine bereits auf uns.

Michelle fragt: „Und wie war es?“

Die Frau antwortet: „Echt super ein Heiden Spaß besonders die Blicke der Passanten.“

Michelle sagt: „Schön, wenn es euch spaß gemacht hat, übrigens hier meine Karte wir haben eine kleine Boutique mit ausgefallener Strickware, falls ihr mal Lust habt, könnt ihr gerne einmal vorbeischauen.“

Die Frau Antwortet: „Wir kommen sehr gerne vorbei, Fuzzy und Fluffy Wolle ist genau mein Ding und solche tollen Anzüge brauchen wir zwei unbedingt auch.“

Die Zwei bedanken sich und verabschieden sich freundlich.

Michelle sagt: „So meine Pferdchen es wird Zeit, dass wir zurück nach Hause fahren.“

Michelle und Nadine Packen zusammen und steigen auf die Kutsche, die Peitsche knallt „Peng, Peng, Peng“ auf den Hintern. Ich muss aufstöhnen „Aaaah, Aaaah“ und wir fahren Richtung nach Hause.

Unterwegs ruft Michelle: „Und jetzt Hopp, Hopp mit Galopp und schön wiehern, wenn wir auf Passanten treffen.“, und wieder knallt die Peitsche. „Aaaah, Aaaah“

Wir erhöhen das Tempo, als wir auf Passanten treffen, wiehere ich lese: "wihihi"

Michelle ruft: „Das geht aber besser!“, und schiebt dabei den Schalter des E-Stim am Penis und Hodensack nach oben.

Ich zucke zusammen und brülle „WIHIHI, WIHIHI!“.

Michelle sagt lachend: „Ha, ha, ha, geht doch wenn man möchte.“ und ab jetzt regelt Michelle bei jedem Passanten, dem wir begegnen den E-Stim nach oben. „WIHIHI, WIHIHI!“.

Als wir schließlich zuhause ankommen, werden wir von Nadine losgeschnallt und hereingeführt.

Michelle sagt: „Bringe Fluffy Alex nach dem Essen ins Wohnzimmer, jetzt sind erst mal Fuzzy Tom und Scratchy Sofie dran.

Nach dem Essen werde ich für den Rest des Tages in den Käfig gesperrt, bis ich schließlich für die Nacht in mein Zimmer gebracht werde und wie jede Nacht in meinem Fuzzy Fluffy Catsuit mit den Armen und Beinen am Bett fixiert werde.

Mit den Gedanken an den erlebnisreichen Tag, mit den vielen neuen Eindrücken schlafe ich erschöpft nach kurzer Zeit ein.

Manchmal fragte er sich, warum es sich überhaupt lohnte, weiterzumachen. Meistens nachts, meistens, wenn die Dunkelheit sich um ihn zusammenzog, wenn sich ein stickiges Tuch über sein Gesicht legte, ihm den Atem abschnürte, trotz der frischen Luft, die durch die weit offenen Fenster in sein Schlafzimmer strömte. Wenn sich in seinem Magen ein schwarzes Loch öffnete, das sich weigerte, ihn endlich zu verschlingen.

Und heute war so eine Nacht.

Heute morgen war da noch das Gefühl von Aufbruch gewesen, von Freiheit. Das Gefühl, das erste mal seit langem wieder durchatmen zu können.  Und jetzt konnte er sich nicht einmal daran erinnern, wie es gewesen war. Es war nur noch ein Bild, das hinter einer dicken Milchglasscheibe verschwand. Alles, was sich außerhalb seines Nestes aus Dunkelheit befand, war surreal, eine Parodie von etwas, dass er nicht kannte, voller Anspielungen, die er nicht verstand, weil das hier nicht seine Welt war.

Um ihn herum schwirrten die Gedanken und Gefühle der Menschen, die sich nur ein Stockwerk weiter unten in der Taverne aufhielten, keinen Meter und nur einen morschen Holzfußboden entfernt. Und doch so unendlich weit weg. Oh, er sah ihre Blicke, wie sie ihn beäugten, wenn sie glaubten, er sähe es nicht. Wie sie sich an seiner Fremdartigkeit störten, sich fragten, warum der Inquisitor ihm erlaubte, hier zu bleiben. Sie zu belästigen. Ihren hart erkämpften Frieden durch seine Andersartigkeit zu stören. Er konnte es ihnen nicht verdenken. Die Welt brannte rings um ihre kleine Bergfestung, und jeden Tag kehrten Soldaten heim, um von einem neuen Verlust zu erzählen. Einem weiteren Stück Heimat, dass der Krieg gefressen hatte. Der Himmel blutete einen unablässigen Strom von Dämonen auf die Welt, und ein größenwahnsinniger Magier versuchte, die Realität selbst zu zerstören. Und hier war er, steckte wie ein rostiger Nagel in dem Sanktuarium, dass sie sich selbst geschaffen hatten. Er hatte kein Recht dazu, ihr Leben noch schwerer zu machen, als es bereits war.

Manchmal wünschte er sich, ihre Stimmen würden verstummen. Ihn endlich alleine lassen. Aber woher würde er dann noch wissen, dass er echt war? Das er real war?

Er hatte versucht, mit Solas darüber zu sprechen. Der Elfenmagier, der selbst das Nichts kannte, vielleicht würde er ihn verstehen, hatte er gehofft. Nein. Er war ein Geist, und er durfte nichts an sich reißen, dass ihm nicht gehörte. Nicht das Gefüge der Dinge durcheinander bringen. Durfte nicht körperlich werden. Aber er war schon zu viel, um sich wieder aufzulösen. Varric hatte mit ihm darüber gesprochen. Von dem Zwerg ging die Wärme einer Umarmung aus, das beständige Knistern eines Kaminfeuers, willkommen sein. Er solle den Weg weiter gehen, das Land mit seinen Schritten brandmarken, unwiderbringlich sein Leben ändern. Aber Varric verstand nicht, verstand nicht was passierte, wenn er scheiterte, verstand nicht, dass ihn dann alle entlarven würden, dass aus misstrauischen Blicken Fackeln und Mistgabeln werden würden, verstand nicht, dass er seine Fehler nicht korrigieren konnte, die Leute nicht mehr vergessen lassen konnte. Verstand nicht, dass jeder Fehler einen dunklen Fleck hinterlassen würde, bis er selbst zu einer Kreatur der Finsternis werden würde statt zu einem Menschen.

Er konnte nichts loslassen von dem bisschen, was er hatte. Aber das würde bedeuten, weiterhin im Zwielicht zu verharren. Weiterhin diese Nächte zu erleben, zurück zu sein dort, wo er angefangen hatte. Ein blutiger, zerschlagener Körper, allein gelassen in einem dunklen Loch. Feuchte Steinwände, Schmerzen, und Hunger, alles verschlingener Hunger. Sehnsucht nach etwas, an das er sich nicht erinnern konnte. Aber das war alles, was er noch hatte. Etwas davon loszulassen würde bedeuten, weniger zu werden. Sich zu verlieren. Zu verschwinden in der Dunkelheit. Zerrieben zu werden zwischen Steinen.

How would you rate current is3 boss fights?

Highmore is fun, she has plenty of requirements for her map but no real demands for specific teams, making her a really good boss that can be tackled in several ways. You need to hold three lanes, one of which is a ticking time bomb, while juggling ASPD decreases and multitarget attacks. Extra long range, such as Artilleryman Snipers (like W), Fortress Defenders (like Horn) and other means of long range (like Platinum S2, Schwarz S3, Ifrit, etc), is very effective due to being able to hit her from outside her debuff ring range, while having good Stuns, elemental healing, and self-sustain is very helpful. It’s a fun fight in general.

I don't like Last Knight, I sincerely, personally heavily dislike fights in which even attacking is a huge pain in the ass. The whole "freezes you for 2/4 seconds every two attacks you land on him" just makes it so irksome and annoying that I really just don't care for the fight, even if it's properly constructed (Don Quijote only ever moves in a straight line, perfectly in character with what we know of him forever charging the ocean single-mindedly). The fight follows in the steps of Big Sad Lock in that the fight is really about the preparation, not the map in itself: If you have what you need to win, you win easily, and if you don't, you're in for a bad time. Extremely static. I personally eventually grew to like BSL, I don't think I'll ever like this fight.

Skadi, I need more time to properly construct an opinion, but I have enjoyed it the times I've done it. It's a pretty dynamic fight that follows in the steps of Mouthpiece, in which you have to take some key positions in order to prevent the boss from just getting away with their main gimmick unimpeded. The main gimmick, the boss' transformation, is pretty well done and threatening, I quite like it. I'll have more to say when I've done it more times. That third challenge is quite difficult, too.

Something I appreciate from the three bosses is their collective design centered around alternative bulk:

Highmore isn't particularly resilient (45000 x2 base HP, a mere 700 Defense baseline), but the fact that she has a wide area around her that she constantly blasts with heavy Physical+Elemental damage, and a very heavy ASPD Down aura around her makes her WAY more durable than her numbers suggest.

Last Knight has stupid bulk if you don't debuff him (Four Fucking Thousand Defense, yes, 4000, on top of 100k + 25% baseline HP), but if you do, he's left at a pretty whatever 800 Defense, BUT he's got that goofy autofreeze, so actually emptying his HP way harder than the numbers suggest.

These two are, as a trade-off, susceptible to status effects and crowd control (every single effect except Float for Highmore and Silence for both)

Finally, Skadi is predictably very sturdy even by traditional standards, boasting 90000 HP and 1200 Defense baseline. On top of that, every time she gets 120 SP (Skadi gets 1 SP per second and 25 SP every 3 seconds for each Ishar'mla's Tears without an Operator on them), Skadi transforms into Ishar'mla, switching from healing mode to attacking mode. Besides getting an absolutely massive attack range (4 tiles, 3 targets at once, True Damage), Ishar'mla switches to a different HP bar (45000 HP base, 360 DEF, 35 RES) that needs to be emptied in order to revert her back to Skadi, and be able to continue damaging her true HP bar.

I appreciate that burst is not really weakened in the slightest and is still a very important part of the strat, but you also need to be able to survive and going full glass cannon is ill advised, as these bosses have means to hang in there. I think they strike a perfect balance between needing to assemble bulk and damage in order to defeat them.

After Day of reckoning a lot of people have been downing Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder. A lot of it was just people poking fun at them but I saw this one post from a boxing site that felt deeper and resonated with sentiments I've had about those two. It goes as follows.

"The truth is that as both of their defining fights came against each other (barring Fury/Klitschko), their reputations are inextricably linked and dependent on one another. After Wilder was so thoroughly dominated by Parker, and Fury struggled badly (and arguably lost) to Ngannou, the thinness of their resumes casts a shadow over their legacies.

All of a sudden, Fury being dropped by Cunningham starts to look bad again. Fury's life and death struggle with Wallin starts to look bad (after Joshua thrashed him) . His choice of Schwarz and an unknown Wallin post-Wilder 1 looks like a lack of confidence. His arrogance of choosing Whyte and an ancient Chisora for fights NOBODY wanted post Wilder 3 looks like what it was - greed. And the Ngannou option too - going for high reward/low risk. It's not a good look. I thought Fury was a nailed on ATG, and his bravery for facing Wilder when he did and doing what he did was the stuff of legends. But again, that is the only redeeming factor in his post-Klitschko resume - and now that looks...severely diminished.

Likewise Wilder. His WBC reign was absurdly stage-managed by the WBC and PBC. And Fury was a cherry pick gone wrong. Clever management, but after his thrashing by Parker it starts to really look like smoke and mirrors. And again, I loved Wilder as a fighter. I wanted to see him face the best and genuinely thought he would find a way to win despite his limitations. But we NEVER got those fights. And so now we start to wonder why...and it does seem like he was manufactured. Had he fought Ruiz and beaten him, had he fought and beat Whyte even, or Joyce - or even Martin we wouldn't be saying this as we would have a much better yardstick of his true level. But he managed to be a champ and not fight these fights."

what do you think about this post and what do you think about how these past few months have affected the way people see Wilder and Tyson?

The post is right mostly, though I think it undersells Parker a tad. though I disagree that a win over Charles Martin would have been some huge deterrent for criticism considering Wilder KOed the guy (Helenius) who KOed the guy (Kownacki) who beat Martin.

I think people attributed a lot to Wilder that just was not shown in the ring. For as bad as the Parker fight was for him, it was not a split from the norm. When he has fought skilled heavyweights in the past, he has been down or even on the cards late (See the Ortiz fights). I think the wars with Fury might have blinded people from the fact his resume is really light because that used to be a really common critique up til he fought Fury.

I think Fury has fucked his legacy up more. Almost losing to a guy in his first ever boxing match as the lineal heavyweight champion is bad. Like really bad. Especially when he was openly ducking the unification fight everyone wants to see.

But also, the fact of the matter is heavyweight is bad. Yeah, we could and should have got AJ vs Tyson Fury/Deontay Wilder at some point in the last like 6-7 years, but otherwise it's not like there was much out there. Like Whyte is not a deeply skilled or interesting fighter (and we'd all have preferred for the Usyk fight), but he was honestly the most "interesting" fight available for Fury in 2022. Usyk and AJ were tied up with one another (+ Usyk was serving in the war). Parker had semi-recently lost to Whyte. Hrgovic had yet to beat Zhang, Zhang had yet to beat Joyce, and Joyce's most notable win was either Daniel Dubois or Carlos Takam. The third Chisora fight was blatant cherry-picking, but honestly Whyte was the best available heavyweight come April 2022. The only other one I can think of that "could" have got the fight was Andy Ruiz but people were still laughing at him for coming into the rematch with AJ overweight and underprepared. And when he did pop up, he barely edged out a 43+ year old Luis Ortiz despite knocking him down like 3x. The division is just bad.

behold, i explain my case:

- loge is tasked by wotan to find out what people would forsake love for. he does, but notably only talks about what other people would forsake. wouldn’t the first person you ask this question you’re tasked with be...yourself? unless, of course, you see yourself as excluded from it because romantic and sexual attraction is not something you experience. then you don’t ask yourself at all.

- he’s delightfully observing everyone else’s amorous misadventures on the sidelines. he doesn’t feel left out, he’s fine, he’s...not concerned with something that’s not his thing.

- a slightly similar thing goes for the nonbinary headcanon (and tbh i see both being true at the same time).

- idk if this is me overinterpreting things but. he keeps getting asked for advice by the gods *cough* wotan *cough* but is also notably excluded. wotan keeps emphasising he’s loge’s only friend. freia won’t let him eat her apples. the rest are sceptical of him. he’s viewed as a trickster and unruly even though he’s right literally 100% of the time. somethingsomething about people’s hysteria about other people who exist outside their own norms causing them to see said other people as a threat or as “unpredictable”, even though said people are rather understandable if you listen to them.
