That's another point, the fact that if we follow Carina's interpretation of her character (which by the way is better than Don's) that Caroline was playing along with Chucky and Tiffany in order to protect herself. Then even she is doing a better job than the trio.
Because it's a messed up situation to be in but Caroline still realised that the better chance of survival and maybe even better living situation would be following around these murderous dolls, rather than be passed around the foster system and have said dolls kill every guardian.
You wanna know something I've been thinking about?
The trio always talk about how killing Chucky doesn't work because he always comes back, which is true. But also the trio have never completely killed Chucky the same way as say, Andy has done in the movies, so it just doesn't carry the same weight as with the legacy characters.
In season one, they killed like 2 or three and just assumed Andy would be fine driving a truck of 72 others no problem.
Season 2 again they kill a few but Andy also kills a lot of them and really, they should have gotten rid of the Belle doll as well. It wouldn't have taken much research to find that was the doll Tiffany used, even if it wasn't Chucky surely they would know not to leave one of them alive.
Then season three, well they just fuck up majorly there which is a rant for another day. (Because literally, if the trio had just stayed out of it, the last Chucky would have died of old age and that would be it over, I know they were looking for Caroline but still. If they had gotten rid of the Belle doll, that could have been avoided too)

That's true actually, even the Chucky in 2x01 sacrificed himself when he set off that bomb so they didn't contribute there either.
So yeah, I think that's probably part of why I find it difficult to root for the trio. It's not the same as in the films where the protagonists fought the whole time and sacrificed basically everything just to try and stop Chucky. Half the time, the teens get distracted by drama they made for themselves whilst everyone else sorts Chucky out for them.

Rachel doesn't need to worry. Look how it worked out for Andy! XD
Adults in the Final Family AU
Charlotte: I could kiss you right now!
Rachel: ...neat.
*Later*
Rachel: Neat! I said "neat"! I'm not an idiot from the 50s, I can do better than "neat"!
Andy: Don't sweat it. Remember what I said the first time Nica told me she loved me?
Rachel: Didn't you say "yikes"?
Andy, eyes haunted: I said "yikes."

I had a dream last night that my great grandparents temporarily came back to help us pack up the last of their belongings and move them out of the house. They even handed me some of my old school books that they had written messages in telling me how proud they were before they disappeared.
It's all I've been able to think about all day...

Don't remind me, it hurts!
Don, you beyond failed this character!
Nica being dismembered is more fucked up than we want to think as it’s not just she’s gonna need help 24/7 or possibly be residing in asssisted housing but also the fact that she is forever connected to Tiffany with the it being a permanent scar that connects her to her abuser.

Andy still seems convinced that Nica is going to wake up one day and think, 'Ew, what was I thinking?!' Meanwhile, Nica is right next to him like, 'I literally signed a legal document stating that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you...' XD
Andy, shaking a Magic 8 Ball: Does Nica like me?
Magic 8 Ball: “Don’t count on it.”
Andy: Oh…
Nica, sitting next to him in bed: Andy, we’ve been married for five years.

Hey Eloise, long time no see. (My old account was austin-chr or something.)
But anyways, something I am mad about when it comes to the Chucky franchise and its character writing is not only how dog shit it is but also the missed opportunities we had. So many characters could’ve been mysterious in the S1. Devon could’ve been such a cool and mysterious character in S1. TIFFANY COULD’VE BEEN A COOL AND MYSTERIOUS CHARACTER.
And the fact these opportunities were missed makes the author in me want to rip out my eyeballs and scramble them for breakfast.
Hey!
Welcome back.
I absolutely agree there was so much potential for characters and I feel like it was missed. I still think I would have cared way more about the trio if the main focus had been on Devon, it would make sense as well with his interest in crime and stuff.
I think they ruined Tiffany as a character as soon as they decided to dismember Nica. I feel like they could have still gone with Tiffany choosing Nica over Chucky but could have handled it in a far more interesting way rather than almost treating it like a joke.

Probably at least another 5% on the foster system XD
Andy, Malcolm, and Rachel in the Alice Befriends Junior AU @nicascurls
Malcolm: I can’t believe you live nearby, and you won’t let anyone crash at your place.
Andy: You people already know too much about me.
Rachel: I know exactly three facts about you, and one of them is that you won’t let any of us crash at your place.

That's exactly how it goes and with the Rachel is Ivers theory, that is her main criticism against Andy. She's there like, 'I know you were dealing with Chucky way more but you can't blame all of this on Kent, I'm talking about MY feelings!' XD

Malcolm attempts story trade offs to get more information from Andy, unfortunately it hasn't worked yet but he's still trying XD
