Catching Up on Movies I Happened to See in March 2025
CREDIT: (Clockwise from Top Left): Marvel Entertainment; Ketchup Entertainment; Stan Alley/IFC Films; Cinetic Oh wow, look at the time! I guess I’ve been pretty busy the last few weeks. (For a variety of reasons!) That means I’ve got more than one movie to catch up with my thoughts about. It’s quite a mix that we’ve got on the agenda: some blockbusters or would-be blockbusters, a heartbreaking…

The Hillsborough 97

Ninety-six men, women and children lose their lives with hundreds more injured. The oldest victim was 67, the youngest, Jon-Paul Gilhooley, aged just 10, was the cousin of Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.
The name of the 97th Hillsborough disaster victim, who died last year, has been added to Anfield's memorial. Andrew Devine suffered life-changing injuries in the crush at the 1989 FA Cup semi-final in Sheffield, but survived until his death in July 2021.

Perhaps as a way to beat the boredom, would you mind telling me about your favourite character (oc or not) to write? What it is that makes writing them fun, or what sort of situations you enjoy putting them in, or just anything about them at all. Only if you want to, of course
Oh Anon you wonderful being! Now of course I shall have a complete brain malfunction and be unable to pick one character out of all the ones I love, or even a top ten, but nevertheless you can have my horrible jumble of thoughts to sift through. Here we go!
So, I love writing Jones, because other than a few minutes of screen time, I can make him whatever I want. There are a few character traits that fandom has agreed to over the years (through osmosis mostly) but really you can take his character almost anywhere that Dan is willing to follow, or be dragged along to. I tend to push a lot of my anxieties on to Dan and Jones, as a unit and love writing Dan a whole lot too. There’s something about tortured indecision that is easy to relate to and write about. And I love being able to give them the occasional happy ending. I’ve also gotten in to writing from Claire’s perspective more in the last couple of years and really enjoy exploring her narrative voice (which is the sort of art wank phrase I think she’d use unironically) and I am always up for writing about/thinking about the Dan Ashcroft universe anyway so any of the characters in that world are fun to do. Like Toby, he was fun to write as, and writing from Nathan’s perspective was genuinely fun. I liked making a nice mum for Dan and imagining her life and personality too. I like giving the characters Mother figures.
Obviously I love writing Howard and Vince. I love writing Vince. I just really love writing Vince. And Amy! I absolutely loved writing that character, and all the other parts of Vince’s brain too. That was really fun to dream up.
In the Boosh world I have to say that I’ve really really enjoyed writing from the perspective of Saboo and Tony Harrison, even though I haven’t done it much. Their squabbling is just so much fun to write, I adore it.
Rosey and Bauer obviously. I have notebooks and scrap papers covered in bits of conversations and chapter fragments that didn’t make it in to that story, because I loved creating my take on their dynamic. I loved writing all of the characters in my Rosey/Bauer fic actually. Often the side characters start to feel like old family friends and I get really attached to them. That happened in Boosh and Prejudice too. I fell in love with that particular incarnation of Mary Bennet, (who is based on old stories I used to write about Jane Austen characters that never made it on to the internet) and Mr Bennet too.
Dang, now I’ve written way too much and you’re regretting asking me! But I also wanted to say that I really love love love writing Booshy monsters. I love it. Yeti monsters and wizards and the Hitcher and evil trees and haunted houses and spooky monkeys out to steal your face! I do have a bit of a thing for horror and fantasy so I like that writing Boosh allows for that.
Is this an ok answer? Obviously I fall horrifically in love with the characters I make up too, and even the ones I abandon and the ones whose stories I take down or don’t post I love and think about regularly. Sorry, writing too much. Thank you so much for asking me an indulgent question and allowing me this chance to word vomit! Thank you. xx

(gavin leatherwood, cisfemale) MASON HARRISON, the PARADOX, is 21 and a SENIOR. HE is majoring in POLITICAL SCIENCE. They are not part of the Imperium Society and from the outside, they think it’s JUST ANOTHER CLUB FOR THE SOCIAL ELITE. I often see them around campus CAMPING OUT AT THE CAFE. They remind me of WORN LEATHER JOURNALS, LATE NIGHTS IN FRONT OF A LAPTOP, THE VIBE AFTER A DEBATE, COFFEE CUP RING STAINS ON A DESK. (sav)
*screams at the top of my lungs* HI Y’ALL please allow me to introduce my angel, the oldest character i have besides june, my son and love of my life....mason. he’s gone through a lot of revamps and this is probably my favorite so PLEASE like this if you’re interested in plotting with him !! underneath is a bit about him, i promise i won’t ramble much !! love y’all xx
(( TRIGGER WARNING: murder, mentions of gangs. ))
BASICS:
name: mason nicholas harrison
birthday: march seventeenth
zodiac: pisces
sexuality: heterosexual, though he experiments here and there
okay here’s the gist !!
mason is the oldest son to jennifer fowler, a teen mom who’s baby daddy kept leaving out the revolving door of their broken home ( that’s so poetic wow go me ).
said baby daddy gave mason two younger siblings as well, twins michael and melody.
being that he was seven years older than them, mason took over the role of being a father figure, despite not having a father to look up to himself.
they were a close knit family, jennifer got a grip and moved her family to london after finding a job with a travel agency as a representative.
remember mr. baby daddy? he was apparently the leader of a gang, who was subsequently charged with murder after the death of his long time rival.
but, before he was captured, he found the fowler-harrison household in their little apartment.
he wanted a place to hide, but instead only found his young son michael at home.
when michael tried to call the police, the man took his life, leaving mason and his family broken to almost undefinable pieces.
mason, trying ever so hard to be nothing like his father and wanting to avenge his little brother, worked his ass off in school and was granted a scholarship to ashcroft university.
he kinda hates being so far away from his mother and sister, but he’s working hard and is applying for an internship for an american embassy in order to kick start his career in politics.
hes a pretty quiet guy, unless he’s drunk or high or in a debate. he has a lot of love for his family, a total mama’s boy.
he’s pretty well rounded? when he’s not studying he’s playing guitar, sketching random people in the courthard on a sunny day, he’s lowkey kinda artsy even though he won’t admit it.
wanted connections !!
best friends: generic i know. but he usually has a hard time finding friends? he’s just closed off and i wanna see someone find there way through his shield.
exes: again, generic, but important. he’s bound to break a few hearts, i can’t help him.
flings: mason is not afraid of sneaking around in the most unconventional of places and taking out his frustrations on people he fancies....i’d also like to see him with a few males, as he’s trying to figure himself out in the sexuality department.
political/academic rival: he’s very serious about his coursework, so challenge him in anyway and make sure you brought drinks and popcorn: this shit is an experience.
#class:intro#/ can we talk about this gif really fast#/ this is so unorganized but pls love my sadboi
