I remember one of his Silk lines saying sometimes he and his friend(s) would hang out in the Camel Bazaar because he didn't wanna go straight home. Which now confirms to me that him being home after school likely meant going back to his duties, if only because Kalim would wanna hang out (somebody should've let that kid make more friends at least via letters)

I also have the idea that maybe Kalim felt lonely after Jamil entered NRC because he was the only kid his age he was allowed to hang out with (his only "friend"), and this was different from middle school when Jamil would come back after classes. Now he was gone for a whole semester, maybe the whole year even! NRC is a boarding school, so he doesn't have to go back home if he doesn't want to, unless ordered to (something something laws about education may give him some freedom and protection).

So Kalim obviously took the chance to join Jamil at school! It's perfect, he gets to be back with his best friend and also make new friends there. What could go wrong? *Dings of foreshadow*

Jamil being reluctant to speak up about his problems with Kalim because of his family ‘possibly being thrown out of their jobs and home’ is so real now that Chapter 7 confirmed that the Asims own Jamil’s house and the Vipers live on Asim property. I had a feeling he was but it’s nice to see it verbally confirmed 😭

one of the most upsetting details of the scene where marius whips armand in his book is not only the violence and abuse, but also what marius does afterwards. armand is crying and begging him to stop the entire time, he hates what's happening, but only by the end marius puts his blood on the wounds he left on armand, which he knows is pleasurable for humans. armand hated the punishment, he did not want it, but marius forces him to enjoy it at the end by giving him something armand can't help but like because of the effect vampire's blood has on humans. marius is conditioning armand to think he likes the whipping by giving him his blood only after being so vicious he opens wounds on armand's skin. he's basically doing stimuli based pavlov mindfuckery with armand. i want to strangle marius until he's foaming at the mouth.

Maybe if I had said this a few weeks ago I would've said I'm biased but I'm genuinely getting so sick of seeing the hate on Lando.

I don't like seeing hate on any of the drivers but I want to bring Lando up because people can't seem to shut up about him lately and it's never for a good reason. Like does this not get a bit tiring? Especially when you publicly hate a driver with no reason to, no one thinks you're cool for being an asshole to a real life person. There's drivers on the grid that I don't like, there's drivers on the grid who piss me off to no end while they're on track but I think I have enough self awareness and respect on myself and the drivers to not go into a comment section saying "Lando is overrated --->"
