“You…protect me?” Virgil asked tentatively, cautiously. Puffball leans down, brushing his forehead against Virgil’s own. The fluffy alien lets out a gravelly rumble. Virgil’s whole body is still, unmoving. Even his thoughts are sluggish, like a river reduced to a trickling stream.  He has met nice aliens. But aliens who were only “nice” when the bad aliens were away. Never nice aliens who would willingly protect him from bad aliens.

Theories you say?

WELL!!! basically i tend to be a “BOTH meta knight and kirby were nightmare’s creations” believer lol. i like to imagine nightmare wanted to create the most powerful monster, so he made meta knight in the image of a puffball (since they were the most prominent star warriors/biggest threat to him) to specifically fit in and join their ranks to destroy them from the inside. but meta knight was too intelligent and developed a sense of morality of his own. he rebelled, and so nightmare created kirby using meta knight’s DNA, to surpass his old design and be the better, more improved version of the “most powerful monster”. meta knight caught wind of this and foiled him again, sending kirby to deep space to awaken as a star warrior when the time is right.

i just think it’s a bit odd how meta knight seemed to be expecting kirby on pop star. mentioning he knows “everything, or perhaps nothing” about kirby is also kind of an unusual thing to say. in one way he knows things about kirby because kirby was made from him. in another way he DOESN'T know things about kirby because kirby was created with more unusual, all-encompassing abilities than him. plus idk, they have the same kind of starship lol. like who put kirby in that starship??

obviously monsters have a main goal of destroying kirby (i guess mostly because dedede orders them), but there are some episodes where nightmare/customer service recognize BOTH kirby and meta knight as threats that must be eliminated. it kind of mega sucks for nightmare that his escaped creation landed on the same planet as his traitorous creation and now they’re working together, but he's also mega lucky kirby awoke too young. a bit of tit for tat lol.

though to be completely honest i mostly just like this concept because in the same way you could say nightmare was mk’s father, you could say mk is kirby’s father. i'm sure there are definitely plotholes with this theory but i still enjoy it, even just as an AU lol.

MY HEART (YANDERE NATASHA ROMANOFF ALICE IN WONDERLAND AU)

So, in this scenario, Natasha Romanoff is the Queen of Hearts from Alice in the Wonderland, and it's an AU thing, so hope you enjoy. And I am so sorry for disappearing for so long, I was busy with university tests and entrance exams and such but guess who's finally gotten into a business school? Yours truly is now an official university student😊

I can imagine that when Natasha first sees you, she might think that you're weak and fragile. At least in the Wonderland AU

When she heard you talk, she was surprised. You were soft... docile and so... innocent and naive and she immediately knew that you were different. You didn't act scared around her even though she yelled 'OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!' at random moments. You piped up her interest and she thanked her lucky stars mentally that you weren't mad as the Mad Hatter or the March Hare or irritating as that darn Cheshire cat who seemed to have a fondness of singing nonsense at random times

She invited you to play croquet and when you told her that you didn't know how to play, she offered to show you. This surprised several of the guards since well... it's not everyday you see an angry woman who has random bursts of anger teaching a random girl how to play her favorite game. She handed you a bird that was fit for being the stick? (Lol I never played croquet so I have no idea what it's called sorry TvT). She swung the bird and the little hedgehog or puffball that she used as a ball started rolling around here and there and when the crowd erupted in cheers, you knew that she was victorious

Meanwhile you were having trouble with your own bird. It was being highly uncooperative and when it lifted your skirt up with it's beak, Natasha widened her eyes and turned away with a blush. Then she caught some of the guards staring at you and now she was angry and if you guys guessed that she was going to say 'OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!' you win a cookie! 🍪

She came close to you, put her arms around you that made you all flustered and she smirked. She found herself a new hobby, teasing you. She thought the way you blushed was so cute, now she had no intention of letting you go. EVER. And when you capture the Queen of Hearts Heart, you can be damn sure that she ain't gonna let go

You both played croquet for a while and you told the Queen that you had to find a way to go home. Natasha stared at you for a moment and narrowed her eyes, thinking of what to do to make you stay and then an idea popped in her head. Her lips twisted in a smirk and she asked you to follow her and she might have a way of helping you. Once you entered her castle's courtroom, she told you to wait there and she'd be back. She then came back with a cookie that had the words 'Eat me' on it and she told you to eat it. Your sweet, unsuspecting kind soul didn't think that what she gave you might end up being harmful for you but you were so innocent and naive and that's what the Queen of Hearts loved. A soft, innocent sweet and docile little thing like yourself who'll follow her orders without question and depend on her and ONLY HER

You soon started to feel dizzy and within a fraction of seconds, you were about to fall down but she caught you and embraced you. You murmured ''Wh-what's going on?' you groggily asked her and squirmed in her grasp. She just shushed you and told you to sleep and she called some of her guards to take you to a room for you to rest. You won't be leaving Wonderland anytime soon that's for sure and for once, she actually considered thanking the Cheshire Cat since if it were not for him, she would never have met YOU. Her HEART

Because I legit don’t have anything to post and I love making Kirby AUs,I decided to do the Kirby role swap challenge by @sour-star-galaxy as shown here (though,I may or may not end up just loosely following the guidelines lol)

Anyways,expect me to lots of these roleswap post (especially if the pair are interesting) but today I want to focus on a roleswap between these two

So here my take on this swap:

-Hyness just mysteriously appeared one day in Dream Land,while he wasn’t hurting anyone,he was certainly unnerving,rambling about a “god” and his banishment which was confusing to the laidback citizens of Dream Land,it seems he was going to be friendless….until a certain puffball who only arrived to Popstar a few years back walked up to him,at first,Hyness only talked to him because of his possible connection to his “god” but over time,genuinely starts to enjoys Kirby’s company alongside the Animal Friends and even helped them defeat a large group of Dark Matter that invaded Popstar,nowadays,Hyness is content practicing his religion in Dream Land even adopting three elemental children he saved from danger while traveling through different planets!

-In the beginning,his design would be the exact same but after the events of Kirby’s Dream Land 3,his robe changed to be a bit more casual and he is often shown to not wear his veil

-Gooey was the most different out of anyone in his Dark Matter group,with two eyes and a childish personality,he became a outcast,not that he minded as the blob was very friendly,unaware of his group’s bad nature,so he was devastated when his group got wiped out during a invasion in Popstar,only leaving him left,Gooey then found the dead eyeball of Zero and decided to revive him in hopes that he could revive his group as well,it took years and years but he was finally close to resurrecting his leader which involved the Dark energy and matter inside of all beings,Gooey doesn’t know that he is harming people and thinks it’s for the good of his kind,unfortunately,he doesn’t know what abomination he is making during all of this….

-Gooey’s design would be like Dark Matter Blade/Swordsmen with a tongue scarf,he would also hide his silly face with a visor/mask in a attempt to look more menacing

-Also FYI,Zero Two and Zero are not the same being in this AU,Zero Two is just the husk of Zero that some other matter possessed

Why I like them/why I don’t:

What is not to love about him????? he loves his friends so much you guys and his life fucking sucks but he stays good through it all. thats really the base criteria for me to love a character forever. i love his golden retriever energy-- he's big and energetic and kind of dumb but also really smart in his own way, and did I mention he loves his friends???? I love that this guy is literally 100% of the time ready to throw down for his friends. He and Yami/Atem fight over who is Yuugi's Number One Fan.

What I like about their appearance

This dude is so normal???? In the world of YuGiOh, this guy just looks like a dude. He wears t-shirts and jeans. he has brown eyes. I get that in cultural context he probably stands out but he just looks like a dude. like heres Kaiba fucking Seto and Mutou "oh my god whats wrong with your hair" Yuugi and then here he is. Just A Dude.

Do I prefer their dub names or original names?

Coooombooooooooooo. Everyone I would love you to meet my son Jounouchi Wheeler. He gets two last names. I genuinely use all combinations equally. Except Katsuya I guess. Feels weird, no one calls him that.

Have you... have you seen this fandom??? Honestly I am positive that out there exists a ship that would squick me tf out with this dude. But keeping it to the baseline, I do not ship him with either of the Yuugi/Atem combo. Atem/Yami especially is a hard no for me because he has massive Yuugi blinders on they're literally soulmates do not split my otp... oops. this is not a puzzlepost lol.

Favourite card they use

Scapegoat!! They're so cute and fluffy and they're such a classic for him. I like that he and Yuugi both have "weak" puffballs in their decks that help them overcome the odds.

Favourite moment they were in

There are definitely so many? The one that makes me laugh forever is after the Marik duel when everyone is like "woah! don't die Jounochi!" and then the narrator goes "Next episode... Jounochi Dies!"

Least favourite moment

Most of how he treats Mai in the Doma arc. Just fucking fight her dude. I would also be driven to angsty motorcycle rage if the person I respected and claimed to respect me kept talking to me like I was a confused little waif who needed to be saved or guided to the light.

I've been thinking about my KN8/Kirby crossover, Starry Dreams, again. (My ass still hasn't done the extended versions for BotW/TotK or Blue Exorcist yet. 🥲) Thus why not share more stuff on the fluffier side of things. (We all need it due to the latest chapter.)

Kirby and Kafka's spiritual bond soon shows it affects both in more ways than one. You know how I said that our himbo could use Copy Abilities as a result? Well, any power boosts between the two are shared.

You guessed it then kudos! Kirby gains a new form, Kaiju Kirby, based on Kafka's own Kaiju nature. The appearance is very similar to how Copy Abilities are portrayed in Super Smash Bros which basically sums up to a 'cosplay' of the character.

I do plan on drawing this. Although it's 50/50 on whether Kirby looks like he's wearing a full body mask like the Corrin design or a removable mask that animates yet he can take it off. He is gonna be greenish obsidian in color and have back spikes because I loved it when Copy Abilities changed the pink puff's colors too. (Sucks they removed it over the years.)

You can bet your ass that Kafka fawned over Kirby's new form partly from his kaiju instincts. It's further proof this is his whelp. Kafka's instincts does lead him to do stuff such as proudly presenting the star warrior to his friends. Although now the Defense Force really thinks Kirby is No.8's biological offspring, lol.

Kafka attempts to piece together the 'lore' after each adventure in Dreamland. Considering he cleans up Kaiju corpses for a living, he would try to understand what him and Kirby went against throughout the few years. Although Kafka still wonders who has been leaving tidbits on collectible figures or random notes(based on in-game Pause Screen Descriptions for Bosses).

Our himbo finally finds a new place to call home, an old farmhouse out in the countryside. There are a few reasons for the decision. Kirby has more room to roam about or enjoy a nice nap, the Robobot doesn't have to be holed up in Reno's basement anymore, and Landia has a place to rest. (You can say Kafka's hunch about the four headed dragon wanting to live with them became true.)

Kirby and No.8 grew quite popular amongst the public. The Defense Force did try to put a handle on it as not all of them were keen about the vigilantes. Futaba and Ami threw a massive wrench in their plan when the former began carrying plushies based on the two. Something which led to tons of merchandise that expanded in variety often should No.8 call upon an ally(usually Landia) or Kirby summons the Robobot.

The Third Division gets back together after the base is fully repaired. (Rookies take temporary apprenticeships with the other departments as to fit canon.) Kafka's apprenticeship is put on hold once his secret becomes known to the whole place.

The rest of the Defense Force are unaware as a case is being built for Hibino. Soshiro and Mina want to make sure their friend alongside his companions stay safe from the more dangerous members in the force.(Obvious corrupt higher ups/mad scientists.) This includes looking over the rules and setting up procedures based on available loopholes.

Kirby became a sort of unofficial mascot for the Third Division especially with the female officers. It isn't uncommon to find the pink puffball napping next to Bakko(Mina has taken pictures), doodling as Okonogi works on the Robobot Armor, or playing some games with off-duty Rookies. Kafka is happy that everyone is getting along.

Now I have been thinking about an alternate version of Starry Dreams. This one has a childhood sweethearts type pairing between Kafka, Soshiro, and Mina with Skully showing up around canon. Plus my ass couldn't resist the look on the latter two's faces when their husband comes home with Kirby in hand alongside a towed spaceship.

Kafka would already have the barn house since he figures both of his partners prefer some peace and quiet. They do learn that our himbo can transport others much earlier as Soshiro ends up being an impromptu ally for Kirby 64. How it happens is the two decided to have a lazy day and slept in while Mina was making breakfast. She unfortunately had to watch Soshiro vanish alongside Kafka to Dreamland.

You can bet both our himbo's partners broke some Defense Force rules to help him in these adventures. This includes stealing and modifying their combat suits. It only grows when Kafka's powers alongside Skully come into the picture.

Nothing like an unlikely family to turn the world of Kaiju No.8 upside down.

Heyo, do you think Arthur has copy ability(ies) like Meta and Kirby do and that's why he's the boss?

I headcanon that krbay puffballs start out with a bunch of copy abilities before settling into one or two. Kind of like how stem cells can become any cell but select a type eventually.

Meta obviously chose sword. If one got Copy that would literally be so op, even if it's redundant in the games. You can get copy abilities without needing to defeat or consume your opponent first and you have a wide selection of powers that you aren't supposed to have anymore. Sorry for the tangent lol

That’s a good question I think so cause he’s the leader and he has those kind of powers on his sword.

True, when it comes to stem it’s like a mixture of air and water together that fused in and for the stem I’m guessing he would do with the season and battle for sure that can work :0

Perhaps Arthur I would say yea he does have like a wind ability where he swirls his sword around the sky as a strong winds who knocks down any monster and explodes bomb with his wind power to bearable any monsters by moving as they were trying to attack. But wouldn’t last long til it loses the energy and maybe the wind will come again. He can if he wanted to use it at anytime. :)

Is it weird how most of my OC’s are villains/antagonists?

And most aren’t even puff balls or already known species but I just go wild, that’s because I’m trying to follow the way kirby games create characters by trying to be more and more creative while always trying to stay on familiar grounds.

Am I going too far? Am I still drawing Kirby characters?

I just don’t know if my designs are that good.

Im kinda saying this because I’ve seen several human OC designs and your “OC” (between “” since I don’t know if a pre transformation character can be called OC) Noir is one of the few human designs I actually think fit into Kirby and is overall one of the best designs I’ve seen without being too different and without being too similar, and I just wanna give tell you “well done”, do you have any advice on how to do that?

First off, you'll never ever hear "Oh, that's weird!" from me about designing antagonists! I think it's great! Everything from the complex emotions that led them to oppose our heroes (betrayal, vengeance, greed, hatred, jealousy, etc etc) to just having cool power sets you can go all out on from the beginning, they've got to be some of the most fun you can have designing characters!

It's definitely tricky to create something new that has the potential to fit in a work without it being a take off of something already in the work. I think part of the reason a lot of OC creators stick with puffballs or some other recognizable form (Magolor-alikes, Elfilin-alikes) is that it gives you a sort of bonus modifier to recognizability? Once you've got that, you can move on to adding all the original details without having to surmount that hurdle of "Does this non-Kirby character still look like they could feasibly be in Kirby?"

Of course, there's nothing wrong with just throwing all that out the window and stylizing your design like whoa! Heck, some actual Kirby characters don't look much like Kirby characters. I think back to Dark Mind, who is awfully cool looking and going by his name really should look like the rest of the Dark Matters but theweird...fire/vein/wires look? Is he part-eyeball part-computer??

He looks more like a riff on a Kirby boss than a Kirby boss. (Which makes that thing in Amphibia - apologies, as I've never watched the show - that looks so much like Dark Mind kinda funny in retrospect because it's a clear Kirby reference, but it references the first Dark Matter-like being to look really different from all the other Dark Matters before him!)

Sometimes, you just have to stick with it! Designing OCs is fun, but I know that for me, the meat is in their story. Can I connect with them emotionally? (Villain or no.) If I can do that, then it doesn't matter to me too much what they look like!

Also, it's totally fine to call Noir an OC, lol! I think that about him myself sometimes. (Dess Secret: I've had to push myself to be courageous every time I post a new Apologies comic because a mean voice in the back of my head says "You know everyone's going to be mad you turned a fan favorite last boss into a sadboy!")

But thank you for saying that. As for tips, well...

One thing I did was I kinda cheated by taking recognizable elements (his scarf + turning his tan cape into a long winter coat) from the character he's based off of. The concept for his hair I also stole off of the settei sheet while focusing on making it look somewhat flame like, so it matched DMS's dark flame hair.

But you can do this kind of "element borrowing" even if you're not making a character who is part of a known species! On that note, I guess that's the other thing I did for him was give him very "Adeleine-like" proportions. I mentioned this vaguely in the lightning round post that it's easier to draw for Apologies than it is to draw for MariPav because I try to keep Gijinka Marx and Magolor as approx. 7-8 heads tall humanoids with reasonable proportions.

In game Adeleine's got a big plate face with wide cartoon eyes and these kinda stick limbs. So, by drawing Noir a little taller, with slightly sharper features, and eyes that have a distinct "shape" to them (Rhombus? Is that the word?) but still those spaghetti limbs and almost child-like hands, he manages to look not too out of place standing alongside Adeleine.

Speaking of Adeleine's design, this last tip is not a solid rule, but simplicity is a great place to start when designing characters! When you mess around with both sprite art and chibi art, you learn quickly that little details (jewelry, markings, filigree, iris patterns, dozens of other things that may FEEL important) aren't going to make it into the finished piece. So choose a few bold things (and bold colors to go with them) that you can count on are always going to show.

To dip into some actual Kirby villains...

I think Nightmare's helmet is... a bit of a mess and I hate hate hate it and hate drawing it (what even is with those...antenna like horns?!) but the distinctive pointed witchy nose he's got and the dramatic chin, plus a body wrapped in a cape that looks like a tornado?! (Natural disasters are SCARY!) Those are all good, clearly visible design elements that say this guy is bad news!

(I refuse to listen to the haters. Nightmare is a good boss!)

One of the things that makes Zero 2 such a compelling boss visually is, of all things, the freakin' band-aid on his head, which is in complete contrast to his surreal, angelic design. But that's what makes it so effective! It doesn't seem to belong. "Wait, bosses can't take boo boos!" but because it's so distracting it draws your eye and your mind begins to think "...Is that to cover the spot where Zero broke out of last time we fought?" People make fun of bosses having "magical weak spots" but they're visually very interesting!

(Of course, it's actually the thorn that's the weak spot...)

Even rounder, friendlier bosses like King Dedede stick to having a few visually striking elements. Design-wise, he's a combination of a penguin (who is blue and yellow, because those colors stand out more than black + white) and a medieval Japanese daimyo. But he wasn't given a kimono until Smash Bros, which is fine as there would be no way to visually show that off till 3D graphics got as good as they did. So what they did give him a big round Japanese obi, which you'll always be able to see on him as well continuing the theme of the three primary colors (red, yellow, blue) on him and keeps his round belly from being entirely monochromatic!

Crowned Magolor/Magolor Soul, one of my favorite boss designs, is interesting because the more details the crown picks up (again, the design informs the character, as it twists around like roots and grows in some plant-like thorns, and this is before we saw it become a tree!) the less detailed Magolor becomes. This is so you don't have too much detail conflicting with each other. Your eye isn't too busy trying to "read" both Magolor and the Crown. And when you remove the crown, Magolor's basically a bouncy ball with a face! But he only needs to be a face because the empty eyes are the element they wanted to highlight, in this case showing his powerlessness.

So, to summarize...

Pick a few colors (remember to work some contrast in there! If you've got a lot of dark, scary colors, try adding something colorful and saturated to throw the viewer off. They can still contribute to the creepiness, even if they're not normally bad guy colors. The haunting orange glow of a jack-o-lantern. A bright, toxic-looking science-green! The purple of the sky as the sun sets and night is upon you...) Pick a few design elements to focus on (Large ones too! You should be able to see the most important parts of your character, even if you shrink them down super small!) and well, uh, I accidentally got ahead of myself. I think this step comes first but also, look to the forms of other Kirby characters, even if you're not making something that's a specific call back to them! Don't take their design, but take their shape. Or parts of their shape. In the sprite art community, we have something called "franken-spriting" where you cut out parts of various sprites you like or want to borrow from and then merge them together or redraw over what you've pieced together.

Finally, don't just show us what they look like: make us understand something about them. Back to Noir ever so briefly - I think that what made him effective as a character is that first time I actually drew him (outside of the sketch in Adeleine's notebook) I'd already informed people who he was and what his fate would be. He wasn't just some drawing of a moody teen with an ugly scarf.

He was an unavoidable tragedy waiting to happen.

(That said, you might not want to tell us all the good stuff in one go. Drop some tantalizing details, not every twist and turn up to the denouement! Something I was always told is "less is more!")

Tell us what to sympathize with, love, or fear about your OCs. The things that make them human - yes, even the eldritch monsters!!! - and hopefully your art will both energize other people and...yourself!

Most importantly, keep at it!

are there more liquid skies pages than what's on tapas? there's a bunch of art of the characters in your gallery but very little lore information and i have questions

do the purple cats (are they cats?) have some sort of nanobot fungus tool? the stuff they use seems to be part of them in patches.

what's up with petrikoro? (and do they smell like fresh rain?) are they a green puffball that can shapeshift into a knife and posses people? or is "petrikoro" a species name and not the name of a character? (it always occurs with another name and when at least one of the characters has dark grey primary coloration, green accents, and (except in 1 case with chroma and bailey) antlers, so, probably.)

also, what's the rune-like thing above bailey's head in petrikoro.png?

can chroma hue-shift or like shapeshift to a limited extent? is chroma faceless in that image and drew one on themself in order to confuse bailey? (my initial impression was that "petrikoro" was the name of a shapeshifting being made of nanobots that could imitate people's general shapes but not fine details like faces and that they couldn't change their green and grey coloration (and that the gun, knife, and scarf were actually part of them) and that they were messing with the other character (who i'm now reasonably certain is bailey) in some manner similar to "oh, you think i should have a face? no problem!" *carves drawing of face into head with knife*, but evidence does not point to this interpretation)

its so awesome that youre interested!!!!! i always want to work more on the comic but i never find the motivation (although i have the whole thing planned out, it is tedious) i intentionally dont reveal information because i want to show people the lore through stories and games rather than just telling them, and that motivates me to get things done :3 the purple guys (Vaporyl) do have some sort of mysterious weapon that spreads in patches, and the name petrikoro is inspired by petrichor so im glad you picked up on that :3 petrikoro (and vaporyl) is neither a species nor a single character, it is a whole faction of people with similar goals and abilities, although they do have a lot of species traits in common to make it obvious that they are related!

sorry for the confusion, but bailey and chroma arent my characters lol, chroma is the sona of my friend chroma, and bailey is a character from my friend lenix, that image is a part of a series of drawings where i put my friends' characters into the style of the corresponding color faction for liquid skies, just as a random spinoff thing, it doesnt say much about the actual story. chroma can hue shift, and likes military stuff like knives and guns (so i used him as a wild card because i couldnt find any green characters lol) and youd have to ask len about the design of bailey

(or itch.io because theyll load faster) liquid skies zero shows the combat abilities of four of my characters, and sneaks befriending simulator shows some personality traits of sneaks (although isnt really canon and more of a parody game) we are just starting a new game focused on petrikoro though! we are still planning things out, but hopefully we will have some sort of demo out by the fall :3 the gameplay will involve action sequences like liquid skies zero, and visual novel elements like the sneaks game, but with a more serious and well thought out story. im really excited to work on it and share the story! the game will be called liquid skies infected, and focus on the aftermath of the comics (which have not been made yet lol) so i guess that makes the comic a prequel technically

The biggest question I'd ever had with the series was what was under Meta Knight's gloves. Like, they aren't simple featureless nubs like Kirby, THEY HAVE THUMBS! If he IS the same thing as Kirby and Keeby do they grow thumbs as they grow older? It always bugged me once I noticed it in Smash Bros. For the first time. So maybe I'm thinking he isn't a Kirby sense there is alot of Kirby-like entities in dreamland like that one enemy in the SNES games that looks an awful lot like Kirby but just have a different (and arguably cuter) face.

a pressing question for sure lol. I know the common theory is that young puffballs have nubs and adults have hands, which I think is totally acceptable, but the more time goes by, the more I wonder if maybe kirby is just the odd one out? like what if it’s because he’s able to copy others and take on their traits that his base form is simple and malleable? considering this is a skill only he uniquely possesses while we have meta knight, galacta knight and morpho knight who all have wings, hands/arms, and wield weapons. WHY kirby has this skill is a whole other can of worms, but I do think it suggests that he's pretty special for a puffball. and it's not really their bodies that make me believe they're all the same species/entities, it's their faces. so i guess regardless of one's nubcanon (Nub Headcanon), there is a link!

as for batamons, I kinda imagine they’re like dittos (the pokemon) and basically just imitate whatever they see (albeit not perfectly).

this is just me thinking about henry’s apartment in stealing the diamond too much.

this comic is running with the headcanons that Henry does remember the other paths and that he’s told Ellie and Charles about it.

you could totally do a happy version of Toppat King, people have, but this is assuming he never got over the paranoia that revenged left him with surrounding the toppats.

Also this is your guys reminder to take a moment to breathe; I know life’s stressful but it really does help sometimes to just pause for a second, at least in my experience.

This fire, this flame, is figurative, of course. But figurative doesn’t make it any less real. As real as Hiro Takashi’s downturned light green eyes that still in laser focus as he receives the ball from his teammate in a flawless switch pass. As real as his chiselled quads that visibly fire up as he bolts towards the opposing team’s try zone with the ball clutched to his underarm. As real as his triumphant beam and victorious fist in the air as he touches the ball onto the– A cacophony of high-pitched female squeals interrupt your focus. You click your tongue in annoyance and glance at the busy running track behind you. It shouldn’t have been busy and it usually isn’t. But right now it was swarming with hordes and hordes of thirsty girls, all wearing the Kamigaku uniform and evidently cheering for somebody on the starting line. Although you couldn’t see the starting line from your seat on the bleachers of the rugby field, it wasn’t hard for you to guess who that somebody was. All these heart-eyed squealing fans were enlisted in one army and one army only. The army of Akira Fudo.

i feel like fluff doesnt rly know much abt his species bc hes an orphan (in my hc) and most likely the only puff on patchland (currently my hc is that long ago one of fluff's ancestors ended up marrying into the patchland royal family, and eventually the royals became completely made up of puffs, and fluffs parents died when he was too young to remember them much). kirby is probably trying to teach him what they know since theyre well. the same species. although fluff might actually be some sorta subspecies since if that one epic yarn cutscene is anything to go by, fluff stays yarn even when dreamland returns to normal... so i guess the patchland puffs eventually evolved to naturally be made of yarn? idk sry for hc dumping lol - prince fluff socks anon🧦

as someone who goes bonkers fckin yonkers over any & all lore/hcs regarding orbs as a collective species i absolutely adore the idea of fluff learning more about his species (/an adjacent one) after comin into contact with kirb, mk, etc. other puffballs from elsewhere. it’s a hella good concept and there’s so much that can be done w it 👀

Tamersonaweekend day 1:  First Encounter

How did you first meet your partner? Did it go well? How did you find out you were destined for greatness?

So there I was, 5th grade week-long away from home camp. My cabin was going on our nature hike turn and my hiking buddy and I decided to wander off. so OF COURSE we wind up LOST. She decides to stay put by the trail, away from the thick ocean of massive trees, while I wanted to go follow the river downstream. (Guess who was found first)

(hint, it was NOT my dumbass)

But that’s probably what fate had in mind that day since I stumbled on this clearing that opened up with this WEIRD BIG GREEN EGG smack in the middle of it!! Now, the rational 10-year old side of me said don’t touch that egg, it’s BIG and whatever laid it is probably around here and is going to get UPSET when it’s gone.

but on the OTHER hand, 10-year olds aren’t that bright, and I was no exception. SO INTO THE BACKPACK IT WENT. This thing was warm, not just like warm but, Warm Warm. Didn’t even need a sweater with it carefully tucked away in my backpack (which was GOOD since I didn’t bring one, and it was starting to get dark and cold) Got found not that long later, Hiking buddy and I got as grounded as we could get without our parents being there by being barred from the last camp activities of the week, WHICH FUNNY ENOUGH, WERE WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU GET LOST IN THE WOODS. (it’s stay put, go figure)

While we were stuck indoors and everyone was out faking getting lost in a closed off section, the egg starts GLOWING. And out popped a cloud??? WITH EYES????? Hiking buddy FLIPS OUT, but I’m over here mesmerized by the fact that this floating ball of smoke looking opening its eyes for the first time. Instincts kicked in and I immediately start petting it while it focused it’s eyes on me.

“Hi, you’re really small, I’m Liz, what’s your name?” 

Don’t know WHY I expected a fully formed sentence from a newborn…..whateveritwas, but it instantly felt familiar enough that I had to try. Made my friend promise to keep this creature a secret and I was able to take him home. (Everyone thought I was sneaking some super fluffy rabbit on the bus so the whole class also kept secret LOL)

We get home and I start feeding it whatever snack I can find and this little puffball is Loving all of it!!! Really specifically enjoyed the cinnamon that topped the rice pudding, so I started calling him Canela, which is just Spanish for cinnamon, I don’t claim to be all that clever. Wasn’t long till we essentially food coma’d ourselves into a good sleep. Wake up the next morning to get ready for regular school again, AND. THE. LITTLE. PUFFBALL. IS. SUDDENLY. ON. FIRE.

I START FREAKING OUT AND TRY SETTING CANELA IN THE SINK WITH SOME OVENMITS, BUT HE’S ALRIGHT??? DOESN’T SEEM TO BE HURT???  (At least he doesn’t feel that hot to me, sink DOES still catch on fire)  Start shooting like 500 questions at him on what could have possibly happened at night, not honestly expecting a reply. So imagine how caught off guard I was when,

“Mokumon!” “Mokumon?” “Was Mokumon! Now, Demimeramon!” “Are, you okay? Does it hurt? Do you need a bandaid or anything?” “Noooo no hurt, happy!!” “You’re happy?” “You found me!! I got a nickname!! Got a partner!! Snacks!! Of course I’m happy!!”

It took a bit for me to find my Digivice, and even longer for Demimeramon to Digivolve again, he really seemed to be more comfortable as Mokumon! I’ll admit the fire freaked me out (and this was probably why he preferred the more controlled form smokey honestly…) But finding the little guy was seriously the best possible end to camp, and the best start to our future friendship and adventures!!
